Reckless Love

EVAN
There are lines you do not cross. As a teacher, a professional, a man. Nora Volkov is everything I cannot have and should not want. To the point of madness. My brightest student, shadowed by a darkness she tries to hide, from others, but mostly from herself. I see it though, in tiny flashes of vulnerability when her guard drops. I’m collecting those moments as my obsession with her deepens.

Until one reckless decision tears us apart.

NORA
Dr. Locke is one of the most disagreeable people I’ve ever met. Nothing is good enough. My work, my thoughts, my mere existence seems to offend him. Every interaction with the gorgeous, broody professor is charged with animosity. It’s hard enough to be a woman in my future line of work, taking classes surrounded by men that feel more entitled just because of their sex, but adding the fury from a petulant professor is not something I am prepared for. Until we are forced into each other’s space and begin to peel our layers back one by one.

I used to think hating a teacher would be the worst kind of problem, but I was wrong. Falling in love with him is so much worse.

“The last fucking thing I need is to be rescued.”

Reckless Love is the perfect mix of steamy taboo romance and sweet grumpy/sunshine. Of course Nora is the type of sunshine that will burn your ass if you are rude to her, but sunshine vibes none the less. Evan or Dr. Locke is a grump, but a protective one who can’t get enough of Nora. I really enjoyed their story because they just had this pull toward each other even if it was to butt heads at first it turns into this steamy romance that was exactly what I needed. Plus, I just enjoyed Nora’s story in this. She has PCOS and she is mid/plus size, so her being confident in so many ways, but still having her insecurities felt very relatable. All in all this was a good read. Lighter than others I’ve read from Nichole, but it still had that steam and romance she always serves!

Wow I really hated this book. I'm sorry but I don't have one good thing to say about it other than it ended. I knew the whole teacher/student was never my favorite trope but the way everyone on tiktok was talking about it I had hope, albeit misplaced. The only good thing this book and tiktoks lies did was get me to read the first book in the series because Elle and Talon were great.

Okay, I won't lie. I did enjoy seeing Talons and Nora's friendship grow but even that wasn't enough to make me want to unalive myself while reading this. And while I could have DNFd this I'm apparently a glutton for punishment.

I don't even have the energy to describe everything wrong with this book but if you read my progress updates you can pretty much find all my thoughts there. 🙃 tbh I didn't really have any strong feelings until about halfway through reading and it took a terrible turn.

I'd say I won't read another tiktok book but that's a lie so I'll just take this L.

God I love a forbidden romance, I haven’t read a student/teacher one in a while so it was good to read one again.
I enjoyed the story, the writing is very good. It was my first read by the author. Of my own fault I didn’t realise this was book two in a series but I found it didn’t hinder my reading at all.

Nora is such a sweetheart, I felt for her so much. The way she sees herself will be something we can all relate too and it broke my heart a little. I was glad Evan was able to help with that. Her and Evan made a good match, I liked the fiery back and forth they had. I feel a couple of the side characters could of had a little more, some felt a little lost.

The spice was hot as f*ck!

this book was the reason I even started this series and im so UPSET because I hated it 😭 Evan is so underwhelming, he just bothered me, he was rude but without any charm or likeability to balance it out, he uses the word 'naughty' WAY TOO MUCH AND I HATED IT a lot of this was just a bit cringe and painful which is sad because I reaaaalllyyyyyyy wanted to love it. I did like seeing Elle and Talon though! so that was a highlight ig 🥴

I freaking LOVE Nora and Evan!! They are 🔥🔥 together and Evan sure has a mouth on him 🥵 This book is seriously amazing! I was sucked in from the beginning and didn’t want to put it down.

Nora and Evan both feel the pull to each other even though they try to fight it. Evan is super possessive and wants to claim Nora as his. Even though their relationship would be known as ‘taboo’ and ‘forbidden’- he does not care. Nora on the other hand is known as the quiet and nerdy type, but underneath that exterior, she’s sassy and Witty.

One of my favorite things about this book has to be that Nora has a lot of the same struggles that I know a lot of people struggle with… body image. Nichole Green handled this topic with extra care and you can just tell that she took the time to research and understand this. She did an excellent job and I’m so glad that I read this as this is something I also struggle with and thus could relate to.

I am so in love with these characters! I just know for a fact that I’ll be re-reading this book in the future!

This was my first time reading this author, but goodness she has such a fan now!! I always love romances that feature plus sized heroines, and while I don't always love the student/teacher tripe, this was done so well! The connection Nora and Evan have with one another just leaps off the page, as does their chemistry!

I loved how Evan always wanted her and always found her attractive, and made her love herself too. I loved how real Nora was with her PCOS, I loved how Evan stood up for Nora against her family -- honestly I just loved it all! The only thing is I felt the ending was a bit rushed, but other than that this was an excellent romance with all the feels!

**I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions **

okay. OKAY. y'all know i love forbidden anything, and professor/student romances are my favorite, so when nichole announced this book i was BEYOND excited. after reading it, i can safely stick it at the top of my list.
·
everything about reckless love was just...so freaking good. books with mid/plus size heroines, while becoming more prevalent these days, are still hard to come by. the way nichole addresses body positivity and nora's life with PCOS is done beautifully. it was amazing to see the difference in nora's confidence and self-image from beginning to end. also she's a stem genius and i love that for her 😌
·
and then there's evan. hot, broody dr. locke with a broken soul is absolutely EVERYTHING. he's the perfect partner for nora even tho everything around him tells him to run in the opposite direction. his past haunts him (rightfully so, i'm still hurting, nichole!!!!) but the way he overcame and used it to better himself still makes me want to cry 🥲
·
their romance, once they made the one reckless decision to risk it all, was steamy, passionate, and perfect. this book had the best banter, heart wrenching angst, and powerful women i've loved getting to know. pick up this book asap!! you know you want to!!!

and omg he said naughty way too much it was cringe - there were so many cringe ass moments too
i liked the pcos rep - a lil something i could relate to
the ending was unrealistic but i guess its a book so it gets a pass
its short so an easy read
also glad he stood up to the twin cause god she sounded infuriating for gods sake

This took me a while to finish because I got bored 60% in. After that I just forced myself to keep going. The smut was very good and enjoyable, but the plot wasn’t all that great. Love the plus size/curvy heroine rep though.

Both Evan and Nora are beautifully crafted characters in a story that will have you tearing up and swooning.

I loved finally getting to read about Nora.

She is smart, loyal, and beautiful, yet she doesn't see herself in that way. Nora has fooled everyone about how she is truly handling her insecurities even her twin! But one person who shouldn't be looking sees right through all the walls Nora has put in place to keep men at a distance.

Evan is not only becoming obsessed with his student but he slowly starts lightly stalking her until one cold night, slides her right into his front door and the only way to keep warm is to give in to temptation and pray you don't get burned afterwards. Evan and Nora secretly hide their relationship from everyone until they both decide to let Nora tell her twin and Talon about them. But things have been going to good for Nora and two pictures almost ruin everything that Evan promised he wouldn't do, which is break Nora's heart.

The ending had me flipping the pages like crazy to see how these make it out. And it was worth it💋❤

If you love professor / student taboo stories with a bit of an age-gap then read this now!

**I received this as an ARC**

I may be a little in love with this series. I think this book hit me harder than others because Nora struggles with PCOS. I absolutely love that she has someone to show her that she can be loved regardless of how she looks. Evan was absolutely amazing. His dirty mouth was on point, and the fact that he treated her with so much respect was perfect. As someone who struggles with PCOS herself, I can say that the way Nichole wrote about the disease was amazing. It made me feel seen. That epilogue brought tears to my eyes. Just this representation alone made Nichole a 1-click author for me.

I absolutely loved this next installment in the Twisted Legacies series. There are some heavy topics included in this book (bullying, self image, medical conditions), but I absolutely think Nichole did the perfect job addressing them. As a plus size lady myself, I've always struggled with my own body image, so reading about Nora and Evan and those damn sharpies? Instant tears. Not to mention the smut and the age gap and the perfection that is Dr Locke 🤤 Pick this up. Read it now. You will not be disappointed.

Hot professor ✔️
Forbidden ✔️
Slight age gap ✔️
Grumpy and sunshine ✔️
Spicy scenes galore ✔️✔️✔️

Need I really say more? I love Nora and Evans story! Nothing better then a self conscious girl (which I totally relate to) to meet the perfect man who loves her... all of her! Plenty of spice, drama and some more much needed spice! Things get hot as they always tend to do in Nicholes books! Loved it!!

This was such a joy to read and what a beautiful story. It felt so real and I felt everything our main characters were feeling along the way. I read this book in a day, I simply could not put it down!

Reckless Love has great strong characters, I loved how Nora and Evan’s characters entwined and how they completed each other. It was a great forbidden love story that really gripped me. If your into teacher/student trope you'll definitely love this book.

One of my favorites from Nichole Greene's books.

Reckless Love is a work of art. From the realistic and relatable characters to the spicy scenes in the bedroom...and living room...and classroom.

Nichole has an amazing talent for bringing complex characters to life in her novels and Reckless Love is no exception, it might actually be the new standard for me.

The interactions between Evan and Nora are so entertaining and the tension between them was so much fun to read.

The struggles that Nora faces throughout the book and how she faces and beats them are so heart warming to read about. Her determination to deal with the challenges she faces on her own, using her wit and knowledge (she's very stubborn, just like the rest of the Volkov family) were so inspiring.

I had so much fun reading Evan's chapters, especially when he argues with himself about his attraction to one of his students. I absolutely loved the banter between the two before they got together and how supportive of Nora he was when they did.

Reckless Love is out now, and I highly recommend picking up the series!

I really did enjoy this. But I really dislike when I’m reading a book and it has a lot of grammar and spelling issues. It makes it hard to read. Love Nora and Evan. Forbidden romances are my thing. Such a good mix of sweet and spicy.

Reckless Love by @nicholegreene.author
Releases May 10th
—————
It has been awhile since I have been able to binge read a book. I don’t remember the last time.
What Nichole wrote is beautiful. Did she hit me in the feels yes but it the most powerful way!

Nora is university degree student at the age of nineteen. Evan is grade a asshole professor but he is obsessed with Nora in a good way! Not in a weird way I can promise you that.

They get together after one wintry night where she crashed her car in front his house. The rest is history cause you need to read it.

It has professor/student trope, soft dominant vibe, Nora is also a bad ass girl, grumpy/sunshine, there is a little forced proximity, self esteem issues.

All in all. Please read Reckless Love on May 10th!

Good addition to this world, but not as good as the parent story main series. I sincerely appreciated the depiction of a main character dealing with body image and self esteem issues. As someone who has PCOS, the inner struggles the FMC felt were very real. I'm even more appreciative that the epilogue was a true and fair reflection of someone with PCOS - thank you for not over romanticizing the happily ever after, invalidating the real struggle many people with PCOS experience. I'm hoping the next book will be about Michael 🤞.

Okay. First off - everyone loves a teacher/student college romance! The rules are just different in college. This one was even more different than what we’re used to. No insta-love. No instant connection! It was raw and real! I loved it.

This is book 2 in the series BUT can be read as a stand-alone. I have not read book 1 yet and didn’t feel lost, ever.

Meet Dr. Evan Locke. Miserable. Sexy. Rude. Hates being a teacher, but needs the normal income to get by so he can focus on becoming a writer. Doesn’t care about his students. Hates that they are constantly flirting with him. Just wants to get by.

Meet Nora. Smart. Insecure. Beautiful. As one of the brightest students, she can’t help but be graduating early at 19. She hates having to take Dr Locke’s class. Even if he is something pretty to look at. He’s rude, insufferable and always calls her out.

Then one icy night on her way back home late, fate would have her crash into a mailbox. Only when she goes to knock on their door to inform them, she never expected her English professor to be on the other side. When one things leads to another can they really keep this relationship they have a secret? His job and her academic reputation are on the line. Will love find a way to break Dr Locke’s icey heart?

This book was super cute and the heat was sizzling. I enjoyed it from the first page. I have not read book 1 but am ready to dive right back in for it.

*Overall 5/5
*Heat? 5/5
*Fast burn
*Body issue triggers
*Ends on HEA

Who doesn’t love a good forbidden romance with a college professor and student? Nichole delivered with this one, great storyline and the spice and chemistry is HOT!

I loved Nora and Evan’s story, I was hooked from the very beginning and could not put the book down. Nora is a strong, beautiful, and intelligent woman who struggles with PCOS and insecurities. Nora’s struggles with her body image were very relatable and the author did very well portraying those struggles.

Evan the grumpy professor who hates his job but looks forward to the classes with Nora in them, but he shouldn’t. I love how Evan helps Nora with her insecurities. The scene where he has her write on her body was everything!

Nora and Evan have so many obstacles to get to their HEA but it is so worth it! This is a definite must read and if you haven’t read Savage Love yet you should, it’s the story of Elle (Nora’s twin sister) and her bodyguard. Can’t wait to see what Nichole writes next!

This book is an absolutely stunning page-turner of a taboo romance. After the first book, I was worried that I would find myself disappointed but I wasn't. This book has a rivalry, revenge, taboo teacher/student (college), and a little bit of violence. I would expect nothing less from the sisters. From start to finish this was an incredible story to enjoy. Book 1 was definitely darker than this book but they are equal in both enjoyability and suspense.

Holy Smoke ❤️‍🔥. Let me just start off by saying everyone loves a teacher/student college romance!!! It’s forbidden and yet soo very hot!! The rules are a little different when it comes to college. Everyone is adults! BUT this story has been by far one of my favorite stories!!

Nora and Evan definitely did not have an insta-love connection but definitely a hate-hate relationship. This connection was sooo real, raw, and totally relatable sometimes when it comes to relationships!

This is book 2 in the series and can be read as a stand-alone but i would say it’s better to read the first one due to understanding the family dynamics a bit more.

Alright let’s meet Ms. Nora. Beautiful, smart, loving and insecure. She is by far one of the brightest students at college and gets lost in her own head. She loves school and all classes except for Dr. Evan Locke’s class, even if he is good looking. Nora is so relatable to us females in today’s world when it comes to comparing ourselves to others, feeling insecure about our own bodies and not giving ourselves enough credit when we need it. Nora is raw and real and extremely beautiful and has so much love to offer she just needs someone who truly sees her and understands her, respects her and sees her flaws and turns them into things of beauty!

Meet Dr. Evan Locke. Stupidly handsome, rude, miserable and a plant daddy! Evan has such a rough exterior that he comes across uncaring, hurtful and doesn’t seem to care about anything but his writing. But underneath everything he is a man full of passion, desire and love.

I love the relationship that Nora and Evan form over the book. Evan looks and truly sees Nora for who she is, how beautiful she is and how worthy she is, he sees her the way she doesn’t see herself, and i love how he does what he can to help her feel that and see that in herself. He doesn’t just try to compliment her for the sake of complimenting but because he truly believes in her.
I love that Nora brings Evan back to life, and inspires him to be the man he wants to be. She starts to inspire him again just by being herself and letting him in to her heart and world.

The level of passion and spice is this book is next level! Nichole made us fall in love with Elle in the first book who is beautiful, ballsy and fire and sass, whereas Nora is quiet, passionate, brilliant and driven. I love the two sisters and their similarities and differences it’s empowering! I have enjoyed that Nichole has written about a woman in a male dominated field and the struggles she faces in it, It’s relatable because I’ve experienced that and still do in my field today.

You will fall in love with Nora and Evan as people and you will fall in love with the story that wraps them up. Be ready to keep turning the page until the very last word!

okay so before i start writing my review i would just like to say that yes this book was part of a series and no i did not read the first book. one part of me has the urge to go and read the first book but the other part of me is telling me not too. the reason for this is because like 3 months ago, i saw someone talking about this book on booktok and it obviously intrigued me. so i downloaded it on my kindle, and started reading it. but i don't know if it was the writing style but i just couldn't get into it. I read like 1/2 chapters and i got really bad vibes from the fmc, yes she was confident but i feel like she was more arrogant than confident. I remember something happened to her twin sister (who is the fm in this book) and she went on a rampage, basically torturing every guy that she thought hurt her sister. but i just found it very embarrassing tbh, and i dropped the book straight away. now elle who was the fmc in the first book is obviously present in the second book since she is nora's twin sister, and elle's boyfriend toran, was also present as well. and i assume that he was the mmc in the first book. and as i was reading this book i found out that elle is actually not arrogant, she's just protective, very protective over nora since the
'something' that happened to nora was actually her ex boyfriend releasing a tape of them having sex together at nora and elle's 19th birthday party, which everyone saw. even their parents. so from then elle has and still is protective over nora. and i feel like i didn't give the first book a chance, and basically just read the first chapter
and decided to drop the book without actually seeing it through. i kinda regret it now, since i loved this book, and i know that if i loved this book i will obviously love the first, but i feel like there's no point reading the first book since ill just be going back on myself, and i don't wanna get confused.

now enough about the first book, let's talk about the
mcS.

hora. omfg nora. i love her so much, and i feel like me and her relate. first off, she's the complete opposite to her sister. while elle is confident with herself and her body, nora is not. elle has the body that fits the beauty standard, and nora doesn't. nora is more curvier and ugh imo her body is literally perfect. now nora did mention that she knew she wasn't ugly, face wise. but she just hates her body. now when i mean she never ever looked at herself in the mirror. ever. she made a deal with herself that she's not able to look at both her sister and herself. she's only able to look at one. and she chose her sister. now elle and their whole family made sure that nora knew that she was loved and that she was beautiful, because she is.

and evan omfg. i love him. he’s probably my favourite mmc ever. like the way he made nora feel so bloody special and when he slipped up at the end. he grovelled imo very good and he even took a beating from her family, so i love him so much.

if my review doesn’t make sense it’s because goodreads decided to be a bitch.
