Infinite Bond

Rate this book
With three hearts to worry about, as well as my own, time will tell if I’m up for the task.

I’ve always been normal. Okay, maybe more of an average guy, who’s quiet and awkward. Just someone who’s trying to survive living in my trailer while dodging my mom’s debt collectors.

Everything changes when a power within me surfaces, and my eyes are thrown wide open.

Humans aren’t the only ones who walk the earth.

Read that again, but slowly. I know. I can hardly believe it either.

There’s more. With my newfound power, I’m expected to attend a college to learn how to use my slightly terrifying and temperamental telekinetic ability, a power I apparently should have received when I was a kid, not at twenty-one.

Throw in my new roommates and my brain threatens to overload while my heart can’t figure out who or what it wants. All my traitorous heart is sure of is that it’s greedy and beats far too fast when any of the three not-completely-human men are around.

Not that my wanting will do me any good. There’s Cade who hates me, Zeke who’s super nice and understanding but way out of my league, and Hyde who’s as scary as he is quiet.
I have no idea if I’ll survive the changes, but I really want to. Just wait and see for yourself. As soon as you meet these guys, you’ll understand and see our undeniable connection. Just be warned, nothing but death will stop me protecting my hearts.

Note: this is a standalone, slow burn, paranormal romance for adults only.

I loved this! Micah and his men were brilliant together and I really enjoyed how different they all were. The mix of personalities between them made it a really fun read. As well as getting to learn about this new paranormal world and the different characters. There wasn't anything super involved about the world that we had to discover so it left a lot of room to just enjoy the guys and their romance. There was just the right amount of world building to let us explore the paranormal without there being too much information dumped on us at once.

The connection between the main characters was definitely more of a slow burn even though it's very clear right away that Zeke, Hyde, and Cade all belong with Micah. Hyda and Cade had their reasons for fighting the bond and I really enjoyed seeing their struggle. Saying they needed to stay away yet finding it impossible to not be near Micah. While Zeke was more of the peacekeeper between them all. And Micah was such a sweetheart I loved his character and getting to see him gain confidence as the story went on.

Bottom line, this is a great story and I highly recommend it.

this is a great idea that sadly didn’t come out very well.
i liked the main characters, even cade redeemed himself.
the story was a bit OTT at times but that’s not the main problem.
i could have done it without the misogyny and slut shaming. the way the majority of the women are treated in this is absolutely appalling.

This was one of those books where I finished it and wondered why I didn't DNF it. It had the makings of a good series (somehow it ended up a stand alone), but it was sooo juvenile.

-the dialogue was AWFUL. I cringed so many times when anyone spoke. Hyde literally spoke like a caveman ... "You eat" and "Bed now". I didn't cope well with that in the book.
-Cade calling his love interest "Dweeb" ... there is no damn way to say that affectionately.
-I don't know if the author meant this, but two of the MCs are called Hyde and Zeke ... get it? Hide and Seek. I literally laughed out loud when I read it.
-Everything was OTT. The floating was so unecessary and cringey.
-The protrayal of women was terrible. All women were desperate, nasty and vain. The only decent woman was Tanika.

3rd try reading this book and I’m calling it for good. DNF @ 11% - this character is supposed to be turning 22 but he acts 10. MCs personality is ridiculously inconsistent. Great concept, was excited to try out a paranormal MM+ but this is not it.

So bad news for those who came for the slowburn, but imo this is not a slowburn at all. Holding off on doing the deed does not a slowburn make. I guess it depends on your definition, but for me, this book is a clear case of instalove (even if they don't immediately fall all over each other - the fact that they want to is enough to make it that).

Also, this book's depiction of women made me very uncomfortable. It gave me major misogynistic vibes in how almost all of them were vilified - and those who weren't only served as tools for a male character's happiness - as exemplified by the epilogue. 😬

Tl;dr Mid af but four guys makes for great sex.

Hmm, how to describe this book...it's Harry Potter meets X-men meets that one Piper Perri photo (iykyk) but take all of that and make it Wattpad.

I'll be honest, I'd (surprisingly) say I enjoyed this for the most part? It's not an amazing book by any means but it's not wholly terrible either.

The number of people who DNFed this book doesn't even remotely surprise me because you can tell right off the bat that the writing is fairly amateurish and juvenile. I was half tempted to stop by the end of the first chapter but alas, I have an incessant need to finish what I start so here we are. The writing style is where the "Wattpad" comparison comes into play - it reads like a mediocre fanfiction with a gratuitous amount of fanservice-y writing and over explaining. Not to mention the dialogue that, at certain times, becomes oddly formal and excruciatingly cringeworthy.

Actually, ya know what? I'm just gonna write a mini shit list of things I didn't like so I can get them out of my head and move on to the good stuff:

- Micah didn't seem have any true character development
- something about the usage of the word "pussy" that gave me the ick
- mild villainization of straight women
- the "dweeb" thing? No.
- I eventually grew to like (read: tolerate) Cade but his intro to the story with the whole Lola/dildo thing? Unnecessary and yucky.
- plot was just okay

So, the things I liked?

I really liked the interactions between our four MCs - Zeke and Hyde, especially. I like how they all had a part to play and even though they're all glaringly different, the relationship between the four of them just works. Zeke is stinkin' adorable with his guileless smiles and open affection, Hyde is scarily sexy with a tough exterior but an ooey-gooey puppy dog center, and Cade...at least he knows how to grovel. If he wasn't literally on his hands and knees for Micah I would categorize him as irredeemable. Micah is okay too if you like characters that are the epitome of "being small is my defining personality trait".

What I really liked were the sex scenes. They seemed surprisingly well written but idk, maybe I'm just a horny horndog pervert who likes to read about four hot guys gettin' it on? *shrug*

Was I adequately entertained? Sure.
Would I recommend this book to anyone? Probably not.

Rating: 2.5 rounded up to 3!

never thought I'd see an overpowered MC outside of anime😂.

i was really excited to read this because i'd loved reading reverse harem before i got into MM. i loved the way it started off. the book was cute overall and even the romance subplot wasn't bad but the whole floating, glowing eyes, suddenly powerful thing totally threw me off. I've watched way too many characters in tv shows with glowing eyes and flying magic to make that look good😔.

this kinda doesn't make sense but while i love the idea of a harem i am NOT a fan of poly and this was half poly in a sense sO.

This gem of a book really up and surprised me.

I won it accidentally. I commented on the beautiful cover and the author kindly sent me an advance copy. It sat on my kindle for a few days and then the cover lured me in again (those eyes!) and I gave it a read even though I realized very belatedly that it was MMMM, which isn't something I usually read. But I'm so glad I did!

This book brings together all the elements I love. An absolute fluffy cinnamon roll of a hero who is desperately looking for his place in the world. Some rather bad boy love interests (oh, Hyde, oh, oh, Hyde, sweet damaged boy). Much angst. Much yearning. Many hurdles to overcome. And a blazing HEA.

I really enjoyed this book - I hope you let it up and surprise you, too!

The cover, am I right? But its the inside that really counts and that one was... okay? Just... not terrible, not... great? With a bit of... well, I don't know how to express this and I may be projecting but... amateurish a bit? But hey, the RH genre is like that, you have to look pretty hard to find one that is more than feels and sex.

(the following text may have ended up shredding this book for many of its elements that may be simply about catering to tastes of some readers, you have been warned)

You see, as I am discovering all these aspects of writing, I am starting to create a bit of a system in my head of how it works and how some things look. And to me, this book looks... low-level. Like it was written by someone with a lot of passion and... not as much... writing... prowess?

Why? Let's see...

1. Chosen one - it's a trope that really attracts one of those wish-fulfilling types (I mean writers), those who want to see someone others may judge rather harshly and see them show everyone how cool they are. Because humans, we are petty like that and being powerful and having hot boyfriends is best when other people envy you and are impressed. I think most/lot of people have at some point entrained such fantasy of proving naysayers wrong, but these kinds of book just take it to the next level with...

2. Practically everyone being afraid/mean/awed by the MC(s). Making believable side characters is a skill and making believable "crowds"/groups is another one. Even if you're some kind of pariah (which he was not) people have different kinds of reactions to you. Some are merely indifferent, some have doubts but like, reasonable ones, some are nice but may not care or may care but would not say, others would avoid you... in books like this, the people are a mass. If someone hates him, it's everyone and it's hate, if there is one "clingy" woman, all of them are clingy and pouting, the pallet of characters is painfully bland and they're little more than background to show how cool Micah is.

3. And he is so cool. I mean, he's shy, he's kind, he has (social?) anxiety but he is a powerhouse of all houses and luxury retreats and when push comes to show, he is unrivaled. And this is what video games (I a gamer, sue me) and books have in common - they need balance to work properly. Even seemingly OP characters from fantasy worlds wielding huge swords or huge magic reserves are not able to just look at anyone(s) and subdue them. You know why? It's boring. If your MC is OverPowered, it's like looking at a... human step on an ant? One move and it's over. It's like bringing a flamethrower to a fist fight. That's not a fight or action scene, that's Another Way to Show How Cool My MC Is! Look! Isn't he awesome? Let me just add these other POVs so you can appreciate his eyes are glowing and he looks so impressive floating in the there? Are you impressed yet? Well, no, I am not.

I don't want to go there (I do, you know I don't need a good reason) but take Kate Daniels. She is hugely powerful but she doesn't flanut it and she doesn't need someone to... acknowledge this? Honestly, I was more impressed and awed in that one scene where Kate let go of her shields in front of Luther (I think), holding Conlan in her arms, than I was by this whole book. The feeling this book tried to inspire in me as a reader is a very complicated thing to set up, trust me, I tried and it's super duper hugely hard not to slide into awkward descriptions.

One of the things is for example that your Cool Person shouldn't be impressing sheeple. If it's a random Joe on the street, it's super weak compared to a fleshed-out, well-developed side character you might see starring in a book of their own, someone who is also powerful and Sebastian and definitely the council members? They really didn't count.

1,2,3 in other words, the characters were pretty simple and flat, even the new Token Girl Best Friend (to the gay MC) the world-building was overdone to the point I didn't care and wasn't interested

4 The romance was simply dramatic, which I guess is par for the course for "mate!" books. I do give a brownie point for the bond being usually found out by having... no clothes, together, and... such... (and one brownie point for Sebastian looking so young, I do have a thing for young-looking vampires and I also award one brownie for the exercise, if only because it was unique) though I also can't help point out that it was another way the MC was too much - not only he is nice and pretty and pretty smart and powerful, he also has hot bod, he has muscles, *drawls* the whole package.

(Brownie point for making one of the three not romantic with others, you usually either have all the boys loving each other or them just being in love with the MC so this arrangement was different, nicely different.)

As I was saying, the romance, it's a lot of emotions and dramatic scenes. Especially the final one, for his final mate. It all makes for a pretty quick progression, or I should say, a jerky one. One minute, they're crawling, just friend, the next they are showing their relationship in everyone's face (metaphorically speaking). It's dramatic declarations of eternal love and devotion and...

(Overall) This is just my personal take because simply put, I would not want to write a book like this because in my mind, this is what I am trying to move on from and try to avoid repeating, this is... level 3, with 5 being "average" and nonoffending and 10 being perfect and inspiring.

I do genuinely believe some readers are looking for a book that is exactly like this, though. I know people can enjoy what seems "not well written" to me and I could have just said this book isn't for me but... well, we learn every day and since I am using my GR account and reviews as a de facto diary of my reading and writing experience, I decided to indulge myself. Hopefully, I provided more of a constructive criticism than simple complaints.

In the end, I did read the book, I did like some things. The recommend group would just be very small.

I don't even know where to start because I loved everything about this book!
The world-building was so unique and special. I loved getting into L. Roses new world where I could just sit back and relax because it was all so natural (as natural as a paranormal book can be).
Even though this was a whole new world for me she didn't have any problems with letting me know how it all worked without it ending up being just a lot of boring facts. She made it so easy that you didn't even think about learning how everything worked.

Now let's talk about the heroes! Because I have a lot to say about all of these hunky, sexy men and especially Micha because that guy is so cute! I don't know how else to describe him, he is a shy guy with no self-esteem and just likes to keep to himself. Now out of the blue Micha finds out he has powers and ends up in a school for supernatural, (think Hogwarts with a college theme) where he has to share a room with 3 of the hottest guys in school. You can already imagine how awkward he is right? If not let me tell you he is so adorable awkward in the most perfect way and brings a softness to all his roommates!

Eventually, he’d realize there wouldn’t be any denying Micah as a mate. Not only did Micah make it hard not to develop feelings for him— because of the sweet, gorgeous guy he was— but more than that, to deny a bond for any length of time would be impossible. No matter how stubborn a panther was.

Then we have Cade. The straight alpha is basically a prince for shifters. He has all the girls he wants and is the cool guy everyone wants to know. And let me tell you he is such a grumpy hero who I sometimes wanted to hit over the head in the hopes of him waking up and stop being stupid!

Enter Hyde the grumpy, one-word, dark guy who can kill you with one look (I imagine). He is the lovable bad boy that everyone is afraid of but he is super protective of Micha in his own way.

And at last, we have Zeke. He is the fun peacekeeper of the guys. Always there to give a hug, spread a smile, or give a wink to cheer you up. But don't get me wrong he is still a badass!

If all that isn't enough to convince you to read this book I will end it with there are MMM scenes in this and it isn't only one on one relationship this book is hot!

“Please, Hyde. While I’m still wet from Zeke, I’d like you to slip inside me.”

The suspense and twists are out of this world and I did not see it coming Lila really had me surprised when she threw her twist in.

I can only recommend this book to all the paranormal fans, The MM fans the MMM+ fans, and well all romance readers.

This novel had me up all night, my just one more chapter became nearly 90% of the novel with only hours before I had to get up for work, I managed to put it down, albeit reluctantly.

I am a fan of L. Rose's Paranormal works and this one completely pulled me into the world she has built, full of magic and supernatural beings, power-hungry bad guys and wonderful main characters.

When we meet Micah he has no knowledge of the supernatural beings that are all around him, he is a young guy with little self-esteem who is struggling to make ends meet whilst paying for his deadbeat mother's gambling addiction. I liked Micah straight away and grew to love him throughout the novel. A genuine person who wants to make something of himself, but just hasn't had the opportunity. When he suddenly finds himself with powers he never knew existed, he is thrown headfirst into a completely new world full of beings he thought were only things of myths and legend.

His roommates Cade, Zeke and Hyde all have very different reactions to him as their world is turned upside down by their need to protect him and eventually make him theirs. I adored these guys, even Cade who makes things very difficult for Micah to start with. I loved exploring the connection these four had and loved how each character changed and grew as their relationships with each other did. As Micah gets to know his roommates, he starts to come into his own and starts slowly at first to believe in himself, as he comes into his powers, the extent of them is mindblowing to all those around him.

Micah's one and only friend, Tanika is the one to help introduce him to his new life, she was a great friend, most of the time, but there were times she annoyed the hell out of me. Luckily she turned out to be a true friend, and we all need one of those, but Micah did especially.

This is a book I'll be reading again, I enjoyed it that much. A great MMMM romance with plenty of romance, sex, excitement & danger.

So, this has been quite a wild ride.

I was really drawn to the premise of the book, but it ultimately fell short—completely, in fact.

Spoke-and-wheel romances often present a recurring issue for me, primarily in the form of the main character, Micah in this case. They tend to come across as intensely childish, shy, and blushing virgins. Even in queer romance, they sometimes feel like they're written as caricatures of the classic damsel in distress, rather than portraying femme or gender non-conformative individuals. Instead, they often appear extremely young, which, in the context of a smutty romance, doesn't sit well with me. Additionally, these characters tend to be consistently small and petite.

Of course, these concerns might be a matter of personal taste. However, the most significant problem for me lay in the writing and dialogue. The excessive blushing on every page and the unrealistic nature of character interactions made it difficult to immerse myself in the story.

While the love interests were generally acceptable, Cade came across as unbelievably unlikable, particularly considering his portrayal as a future alpha leader of a shifter pack. He consistently displayed rudeness and aggression towards those around him, regardless of the situation. He embodied my definition of a toxic alpha male.

Furthermore, the portrayal of the female characters in the book left much to be desired. They came off as annoying and power-hungry, often falling into clichéd roles. I mean I cant even blame them because they are treated like garbage by Cabe and the others. Misogynie wasn´t something I hoped to find in that book but here we are.

When I started reading Infinite Bond I didn't expect for me to love this book as much as I did, and now I'm really hoping that there will be a sequel. Not that it needs one, I just don't want to leave these characters that I'm now OBSESSED with. One part that I really appreciated about this book is that after the climax of the book the story wasn't just over in ten pages like you frequently see in so many romances. The climax ended at like 75%, so we were able to get a great wrap up ending to this story.
I loved how well L. Rose wrote the book, especially with having four distinct POVs. She was able to keep everything consistent between the POVs, each having different personalities and experiences. In particular I really loved Hyde and Micah's POVs, though I really liked Zeke and Cade's as well.
One of my favorite parts of this book was to see how Micah grew through out the story. When it started he was extremely shy and full of self doubt, and has just discovered that he has magic powers that he never knew about. And over the course of the book you still see him struggle with the self doubt that he doesn't belong there but slowly he realizes that he's incredibly powerful and that he is worthy of the love that he gets from his three mates. After he has this realization that he is worthy of love, he's finally able to stand up for himself and stop being bullied and full of self doubt.

This story has so much potential in it. Unfortunately, I don't think this is a type of story that could be packed into one book. It lacks world building, character development, and just feels rushed.

Micah is a very shy and insecure boy, who has no experience in romance nor sex. It doesn't make sense how fast Micah accepted Cade and jumped into sex so he could be bonded with him. Again, the story is rushed and the plot is very disappointing.

The first story I read from the author is A Torn Paige. And I was pretty much enjoying myself reading that even it was a fast-paced story. However, I just couldn't help but feel that the romance between Cade and Micah is forced without any explanation.

So, if you want a smuty book with M/M romance in it, you could get that in this book. There are many sex scene that I had to admit pretty good.

But, DO NOT expect a good plot because you will be dissapointed.

Excellent

I'm extremely impressed by this poly paranormal romance. The mix of supernatural, the college setting, how their relationship developed, even the mystery bit. My only fault maybe with it is the affectionate term of dweeb, but then I remembered how my youngest likes to affectionately call me Nerd, so I sort of okayed it in my head.

KU, urban fantasy, paranormal, magic, wolf shifter, panther shifter, fated mates, mystery, MMMM. Cade - gay for you, Micah, sexual awakening, first time, pole dancing, Hyde - PTSD, Zeke

I really love L. Rose books. The hidden kingdom trilogy is one of my favorite RH series, and this new MMMM book of her's didn’t disappoint.

I really did enjoy the book, but it didn’t reach the 4 stars because some parts were kind of cringe and I think some parts moved a little fast. Anyways, Micah, Cade, Hyde and Zelenskyy were cute and I enjoyed reading about their love story.

I would recommend this book if you like MM and fated mates. Toodles!

3.5/5 stars.

Honestly if it wasn't so hard to find a polyamorous relationship, let alone an m/m/m/m one, this would be 2 stars. It gave off teenager who read too many badly-written wattpad fanfics. I had some issues that played at least a slightly big role in the book so it was hard to ignore. The main two were:

1) the female characters. aside from Tanika and Cade's female family members, they were all the mean girl stereotype. It really gave me the impression that if Micah was a girl, there'd be a "I'm not like other girls" line somwhere.
2) the dialogue. i could tolerate it for the most part but this book was more than 400 pages long, it got way too annoying only halfway through. It was like written by someone who has never had a conversation with a real person. i can't explain why but it was. As someone who has read way too many cringe wattpad stories, I know what I'm talking about because this is exactly the shit I'd write back when I was 14.

I wish we got to see Micah befriend anyone outside the group, I was so excited to see him interact with people like him because he had such a pure heart. But it never really came. I also believe we could've dug dipper into the backstory of the main characters, especially Hyde's, but considering this was a standalone I understand why we didn't.

I have to say, though, Sebastian and then the Council provoking Micah to test his powers was so funny to me because all I kept thinking was "there has to be a law out there somewhere about emotionally manipulating your student/s to test them."

In conclusion, I feel like a lot of things was overlooked because this book really focused on the romance part. So if that's what you're looking for a book where you can turn your brain off, this book is for you.

I love everything Lila Rose writes, paranormal stories and MM reads; so I expected to enjoy this novel. That said I was more captivated than I thought I would be; I absolutely loved this story!

The story had me hooked from the first page wanting to know more about Micah and wishing I could protect him at the same time. Bullied his whole life Micah's world changes one night when he discovers he has magical powers. So off to college he goes to learn about his powers and meet other supernatural beings. As soon as I met Zeke and Hyde I fell in love with them. Even Cade, who is an idiot most of the time, held a soft spot in my heart as I could see why he was reacting like he was. While this novel is described as a slow burn romance there is also a fantastic storyline happening alongside the main characters relationships forming.

I highly recommend this novel, the characters are well developed and the storyline is brilliant. I especially loved that each main character gives their POV at least once throughout the novel.

This story is a standalone and is completely wrapped up by the end of the novel, including secondary characters storylines. That said I'm willingly to beg Lila to return to this world soon and gives us more stories from it, including more about Sebastian and his wife's story.

DNF Chapitre 14/40

So... I normally read M/m romance, fantastic, fantasy, shifters and the like... But this time I realize that I may not like new adult book. It was SHALLOW
Yes, there are m/m relationships, yes I does revolves around those couple for the most part, but I find myself questionning / thinking that It's too easy. It's an instant love. I can't help thinking that there are three mates, so It's three relationship + the struggle of balancing those together. It's supposed to come with some hardship( in the begining at least), to find some balance. But we don't really get any angst, Micah has no trouble with this new world, has no trouble loving three man, (that normally create a lot of internal turmoil)... Then we have these situation where everyone seems to loves Micah and they have good intentions and they wants him to find his power, so they plan a situation behind his back ? Basically using his own feeling/reaction for their own end? That they KNEW would cause anxiety(reaction). ( And Micah accepts it all? His anger lasts about two sentences?) Everything is so shallow and I really thought it would be a coming of age/ internal struggle/ a boy learning to find comfort in his new friends/mates through the hardship of this new world... Well, I was wrong ...

Micah, a small shy guy with blue hair, suddenly his life changed. Coming into powers he learned more about the world that he though possible.
Sent to attend a college for other kinds he is to learn about his powers and how to control it. Others see his size and failed attempts and think him weak. Boy are they in for a surprise. His three room mates are shifters and an elemental. Who'd have thought he'd fit in and soooo much more.
The chemistry, the denial, the bonding, it's a wonder the room didn't catch on fire.
Danger comes to the college, will the danger take over or will they survive?
Parts of this story were corny as....and I loved every minute.

This was an interesting story. I did enjoy it, but not sure if it is enough for a re-read, which is a sure sign of a fantastic book for me. It was a unique world build, and I always love an awkward, insecure, down on his luck MC who finds love. Not only does he find love, but he becomes a magical bad ass. Two of my favorite tropes. I even usually enjoy poly stories, but I am not sure all the relationships sat well with me. So I will have to give it some more thought. Definitely a fun quick read though if your looking for a mini adventure.

It's been a hot minute since I've read a M/M/M/ and now I understand what I've been missing in that time. There is just something unique to a 4some dynamic that feels equal in all the best ways.

Micha is just a sweetheart. He's a really vulnerable character who is painfully shy and genuinely terrified of life. He didn't have a great upbringing which fuel the fear and gave him reasons to be wary. But the grown in Micha was something real precious.

Zeke is the sweet bubbly one that makes everyone comfortable and fixes all the problems. He confident without being cocky and genuinely cared in a way that's felt from the beginning.

Hyde is pretty feral. There really is no other way to describe him. More wolf than man he growls and snarls but he's also painfully protective and loves hard with the few he loves.

Cade is a pain in the rear. But truly I understood his hesitation. The fear. The unknown. I didn't like his actions but in his situation I understood them. It didn't justify but he sure did make up for it. He's an alpha through and through. Arrogant, hot headed and sure of himself. But he's also sweet under the hard and would protect those he loves with his life.

The dynamic was interesting giving who was bonded and who wasn't. But I loved that. It gave their story a unique spin and made for some interesting moments for sure.

There journey was definitely a low burn which was absolutely needed given Micha being who he was. I also loved the school and side characters that crept in and made a place for themselves. This world is an intriguing one.

The story flowed well and the characters had me interested from the beginning. All four being very different and bringing something uniquely them to the table. It truly was quite the concoction.

I enjoyed this ALOT. Now I need to find something else to read to fill the hole it's left.

DNF @ 12%. What in the wattpad. Not a fan of the writing/pacing and I'm already annoyed by how women are portrayed.

"Thanks for thinking I'd let that skank's pussy near my dick. I don't want it falling off when I have many other women to please."

At this point we don't even know the woman or the real reason why the characters are so hostile towards her - it's her first appearance in the story. And it's also how one of the MCs (I think) is introduced. Nope. I'm out.

Overall Rating: 2.5

Disappointed that this wasn't a slowburn, but eh. Liked Zeke the most, but if I read this a year ago I would've focused on the love interest with the most mentions, and that's Cade. But how Cade acted just didn't sit well with me, and I've read many dark romance books.

For the love interests:
- Not saying Cade was cruel, he was actually quite a softy, I just didn't like the immaturity radiating off someone with such a high status.
- Hyde was your typical head-over-heels in love wolf shape-shifter, but I find it odd how it seemed like he was most comfortable using either short sentences or sounds when he was capable of forming long sentences in his POV. But my bias against his kind of character might've influenced me into disliking him. He's fine, but a bit bland in my opinion.
- Zeke's the one I got attatched to since he's very sweet, but it also felt like he was feeding the answers to the other love interests sometimes. Also, since i expected this to be a slow burn, it bothered me that he would switch from talking nicely to having a hard-on.

Speaking of having a hard-on, maybe it's just not my kink, but I hate how they constantly get a hard-on EVEN IN PUBLIC.

The main character wasn't bad, and I totally came here since I knew he'd be shy. But he was a bit too shy and scared for my tastes. However I liked how he stood up for himself and his mates.

Main thing I was displeased about was that the pacing was a bit too fast, but since it was clear early on that this was supposed to be fast-paced, I got over it and just enjoyed it for what it is.

I've read the author's "Torn Paige" series and it's not bad, but I honestly forgot about it after a few days and just remembered it when looking at what the author wrote. Same goes with this one. I mean... the writing style is good, a bit cliché at times, but still good. Just not something that would stick out and be remembered for a while.

Remember tho, this is just my opinion and we might have totally different tastes, so don't be sceptical and try it if you want to. Happy reading!!!

Omg!! This was SO GOOD!! I absolutely loved it!😍😍😍 If I could give this more than 5 stars, I would. It’s been a while since I was this invested in a book, but wow, I was captivated from page one and even more so as I continued to read. This has definitely become an all-time favorite for me, and I am SO GLAD I stumbled upon it in the MM FB group!!😁

The best part (for me) were the MCs. Micah, Zeus, Hyde, and Cade❤️. Gahh where to start!? I loved them SO MUCH, especially Hyde and his POV🤣!! They each had distinct personalities and POVs🙌🏻 and were interesting, likable, lovable, relatable, fun, vulnerable, fleshed-out, and just so great. I loved their friendship, bond, and the way their relationships developed. Their character development was great, too (especially Micah and Cade’s). I couldn’t help but root for them. Both individually, as couples, and as a group. There were so many great scenes and conversations! I really felt for them and their connections!🥰 And I loved how supportive, protective, caring, possessive, and kind they all were. Yes, it took Cade a while to come around, but I understood his struggles and reluctance. Each MC was so well written! And I completely loved and adored them!

I also LOVED the writing. It was fast-paced, concise, vivid, moving, flowed well, and was more showing than telling. I ate up every word and felt every emotion the MCs did. The writing packed a punch. The dialogue and steamy scenes were great, too! (I’m always wary about steamy scenes when reading a new author, but holy hell, these were good. Hot, sweet, plenty of dirty talk, and just descriptive and long enough.) And I loved the tension and buildup between the MCs!

I also loved the side characters (especially Cade’s family😊, Sebastian, and Tanika), the story (which felt original, refreshing, and well thought-out and developed), the pacing, the fantasy, the action/suspense, the hurt/comfort, the found family vibes, the multi POVs, the chapter lengths, the ending, the epilogue, everything.

Overall, this was such a phenomenal read. It far surpassed my expectations and was such a pleasant surprise. I loved and enjoyed every minute of it. It kept me engaged and kept me guessing. And I loved how it wrapped everything up. It answered all the questions and did a great job at doing so! It didn’t feel rushed either, especially with being a standalone. This book deserves so much more hype!! I will definitely be rereading in the future and checking out this author’s backlist!😄
