Ghost Ship (The Ghost Files #9) by Chanel Smith is a good story but instead of ghosts it was more a ancient gods or different planes and gods. It was different but interesting.

Nice book, interesting read

A nice twist on the paranormal and an interesting couple. I haven't read the other books in this series yet and just dropped in on this one. I'm glad I did. Now to start from the beginning of the series. I'm hooked. I give this book four stars.

One has to love Monty reading about a mysterious catamaran off the coast of Queensland, and 3 men lost their lives, before going on vacation. Ellen wanted two weeks vacation, and now heading to Brisbane to board a cruise ship. Going aboard, they had a disgruntled man in front of them, causing Ellen to tense. Later he enters the room, demanding he is taking over the ship. Ellen sees a frighting presence around him, but doesn’t want to get involved. There is no radar contact with the vessel, and no lights, at midnight They try to talk with the captain, he orders them to leave or be locked up. Interesting plot how they get rid of the evil presence that has taken the ship over, of coarse with Ellen and Monty that we enjoy, also.

They just wanted to take a vacation. Just a little cruise and Monty is forbidden to mention anything to do with their work. But, as it often happens with them, plans change. Their ship loses power and slips into a different dimension. There is a little man who seems to be at the center of it all. The entity that inhabits this man calls himself Pharaoh and says that he is in a war. They first have to convince the captain that it is of an otherworldly nature. Can they defeat this entity?

mention of other gods

Didn't like the fact that it involves false gods and involves doing a ritual to appease a false god. g

I haven't read all of The Ghost Files books but I didn't have a problem picking up the series on this book, #9. There were a few references here and there to old cases or how the two lead characters had met, but it wasn't pertinent to the story. Either way, the book took off well and the writing was good. I enjoyed the characters and the story I thought was original. But even with all that going for it, for some reason I felt it fell a little bit flat. I could put the book down and it didn't bother me that I let it sit there--sometimes I can't keep my hands off a book until I turn the final page and this wasn't that kind of book. It didn't give me the edge-of-your seat feel. Yes, there were some tight spots here and there but this wasn't a can't-put-it-down. Even so, I still think this read deserves 4 stars. I liked the main characters, Monty and Ellen Drew, and I will definitely read more of the Ghost Files and catch up on their adventures. It was a quick, easy read, enjoyable with a good ending.

Fast paced and well written, Ghost Ship continues the adventures of Ellen and Monty as they ghostbust their way across the globe. I have never read any of the books in the series before I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review, but it was not difficult to follow and stood well alone. This paranormal invesigative team has a wonderful relationship with just a little bit of spice. You can tell by their interaction they know each other well and trust each other's instincts. That impression is a tribute to the way the characters have been written. They come through as being very real, and you could imagine being in their company. When all is said and done they save the crew and passengers of the cruise ship on which they were passengers. If you are a fan of the series this installment will not disappoint and will continue to endear this couple to you.

This is a great quick read, Its well paced and keeps you entertained.

I think Monty and Ellen Drew are fantastic and I love how they interact and compliment each other and just when they think they are about to have a nice relaxing cruise and get away from their "normal" job something goes awry. Monty and Ellen figure out whats going shortly after however poor Captain Norris takes a bit to get on board with what's actually going on. Along with Captain Norris who has to come to terms with what is actually happening and work with Monty and Ellen, you have to feel sorry for the Aussie and NZ navies trying to work out what was happening as well. This is the first book I have actually read in the series and I will now being going back and buying the others to read as I found it really refreshing.

What happens when a whole cruise ship and it's passengers vanish from sight? Be thankful there's a paranormal investigation on board. Investigators Ellen Drew and her husband Monty will need to use their special talents to ensure that everyone on board not only does freeze to death but also that they return to where they belong. In order to do so they will need to do battle with an entity calling it's self Pharaoh. Excellent book!! Mysterious and very exciting!!
