This is a bonus short novella in the Eden East series, a YA fantasy trilogy by Sacha Black. If you love secrets, regrets and shocking truths found inside journals, you’ll love this bonus novella.
Sacha Black is an author, rebel podcaster, and professional speaker.
She has five obsessions; words, expensive shoes, conspiracy theories, self-improvement, and breaking the rules.
Sacha writes books about people with magical powers and other books about the art of writing.
When she’s not writing, she can be found laughing inappropriately loud, sniffing musty old books, fangirling film and TV soundtracks, or thinking up new ways to break the rules.
She lives in Cambridgeshire, England, with her wife and genius, giant of a son.
A wonderful little extra nugget that was thrown to the fans of the Eden East series, by author Sacha Black. This novella contains the memories of Trey, short snippets of the story that we haven't been told, in the main novels. From how he handles the death of his father and the subsequent disappearance of his mother, then the feelings he developed for Eden, and how it affects his unlawful binding to Eve. What a great way to add backstory to a fabulous series, without giving everything away... as long as you don't read it first!
I received a short novella of Sirens by Sacha Black through bookfunnel. In a notebook that he found in Obex, Trey shares stories from his past. Can he learn from is mistakes... and make up for them in the future? This is book 4 of the Eden East Novels and I though I recommend the whole series, I especially recommend reading book 3 before this one so there won't be spoilers. Sirens, and the rest of the series, are available on Amazon. This book is available on May 26th
I received a free ARC from the author. I'm leaving this review voluntarily and all opinions are honest and my own.
Sirens is the final book in the Eden East series. However, Sirens is more of a companion novella. In this book, we spent some time in Trey's journal during his time in Obex.
He goes through his life story talking about his parents, when he met Eden, and discusses Eden and Victor's binding through Trey's POV.
In a nutshell, we see his life before and during the events of Keepers.
This novella is certainly a quick read. I enjoyed seeing things through Trey's eyes, especially since I always preferred Trey as a character over Eden.
However, Trey's stories in this book aren't as emotional as the rest of the series. His background is tragic, for sure, but once the stories were over, I felt as though I didn't get as much of a connection to him at that moment as I did in the rest of the series.
Overall, if you've read the Eden East trilogy, this is a fun companion to breeze through in one sitting.
This was a short novella in the series that recounts events in Trey's life as he reminisces about the past. I received a free copy of the book and this is my voluntary and honest review.
