Can an inexperienced cowboy wrangle the adult movie star of his dreams?
Hawthorne I’ve lived in the same small town my entire life. And I like it, for the most part: being a rancher, taking care of my chickens, and even my meddlesome family. What I don’t like are the limited dating options. I’m gay, and at thirty-six-years-old, I’ve never been with a man.
When I enter a contest to win my favorite adult entertainer’s support for our town’s first Pride Parade, I never expect to win. And I definitely never expect to find myself in a friends-with-benefits relationship with the man.
The problem is, I quickly realize I want more. But could someone as confident, sexy, and independent as Silver ever consider building a life with a simple cowboy like me?
Mateo My work is my life. Filming under the moniker Silver, I’m happy enough. I’m making good money, I’m free from my crummy past, I’m well on my way to the career I actually dream about, and I’m not looking for any complications.
Enter Hawthorne Moore, with his sweet-as-molasses drawl, that adorable gap-toothed smile, and the beautiful way in which he begs, and suddenly, I find myself getting in too deep. And that’s a problem, because I’ve spent years building up these walls around my heart, and I don’t know how to bust them down.
Can I work through my trauma and lasso myself a cowboy, or will I lose the only man who’s ever loved me?
Virgin Hearts is a friends-with-benefits-to-more romance that includes a flirty performer, risqué photo shoots amongst peeping bovine, an endearing cowboy whose cock (ahem, rooster) rises at dawn, dom/sub undertones, and one very HEA. It’s book 2 in the Plum Valley Cowboys series but can be read as a standalone.
Emmy Sanders, author of sweet, steamy, swoony MM romance, would describe herself as a lover of love. She's obsessed with both reading and writing romance and believes everyone deserves their happy ending. Queer herself, Emmy has a soft spot for LGBTQ+ fiction, but MM is where her heart lies. Her debut novel, Fool Hearts, released in 2022.
Every time Mateo referred to Hawthorne as “rabbit” during their sex scenes (which was actually every time they had sex), I had to put my phone down, stare at the ceiling, and take a breather. I was too embarrassed to turn to the next page. It was not cute, not sexy, and just laughable.
As someone who needed braces to fix and straighten my two front teeth (#8 and #9 on the teeth number chart) because they were what is referred to as bunny teeth, if someone called me “rabbit” because of my teeth gap, I would be mortified. Because, yes, that’s why Marco started referring to Hawthorne as rabbit, because he found him to be “like a sexy rabbit” because of his teeth gap.
He just smiles, nodding a couple times with that damn gap between his teeth that makes him look like a sexy rabbit.
I guess he’s just missing the rest of the costume.
And don’t get me started on his inner thoughts referring to him as “my rabbit.”
Absolutely not.
Personally, I’m just not a fan of animal pet names. Very few have done it for me. I prefer the more “basic” and overused endearments instead of animal pet names. So far, ‘rabbit’ takes the #1 spot for worst endearment. I honestly understand the appeal for these nicknames even if they’re not my favorite, and I can get behind them, but not when they are overused.
I’ve heard smut is not this authors strongest suit and I can now confirm it. This is coming from someone who hardly ever comments on sex scenes because I don’t always pay attention to them. My complaints in my reviews are usually more about the quantity of sex scenes, not quality. In short, this was not good quality.
“I need your consent and your promise, rabbit.”
I groan out my praise. “Fuck, rabbit. Yes, that’s perfect.”
“Take yourself out, rabbit. I want to see you.”
“Yes, rabbit,” I tell him, stroking his hair.
“I love feeling you, rabbit.”
But it’s okay, because of course Hawthorne likes it.
I don’t know why he calls me rabbit, but I like it. A whole lot. It makes me feel vulnerable, in a way. Like I’m his prey, and with a single look or touch, he could ensnare me. And he could. He does. It feels like I shouldn’t want that, to be at his mercy. And yet, when he has me in his clutches, I don’t want him to ever let go.
Also, of course Hawthorne’s white, Texan ass had to call Mateo, “Matty.” Same reason I go by Elena and not my full name. What a disgrace. It’s such a sexy name in Spanish. I said what I said.
A couple of other things, good and bad (but mostly bad): 1. I found the sexual tension to be moderate enough. Their relationship is a friends with benefits kind, but they still hang out outside of the room. Their attraction is obvious from the start, very insta-LUST, but I still appreciated witnessing its development a little.
2. I’m always a fan of “older” characters figuring out and exploring their sexuality. Hawthorne is a ‘baby gay’ cowboy. He’s got some kinks that Mateo is more than happy to explore with him. His character development to becoming more confident is lovely.
3. Yet, even with the sexual tension, the relationship was developed too fast, as I would have preferred a slower agreement. This led to too much sex without enough intimacy. Page after page, chapter after chapter, was another sex scene that I was over it. More rabbit calling. Yay. As I said before, the smut in this was not a strength. Can confirm I started skipping. Even the scenes of Hawthorne exploring what he likes and is interested in were redundant. My eyes starting glazing over with boredom.
4. Towards the end, it felt like Hawthorne deserved better. I was not a fan of how Mateo reacted to his confession at all. He felt a little too immature for my liking, as if Hawthorne was at fault. Their ridiculous ‘break-up’ could have easily been solved if they communicated better, but with Mateo’s insecurities and inability to talk getting in the way and not treating the situation seriously enough, there wasn’t much hope.
5. Will is…not a character I came to like, let alone become curious about. I had no interest in book 3 before because it’s an MMM story of Will, his roommate, and some other guy (Will is the son of Easton and Wyatt from book 1), but now that I’ve met him, I have even less interest in his book. He’s very obviously 16 but is the type of teenager I would not have patience for in real life.
6. The story itself is not a memorable one whatsoever. It’s the type of story you can skim and won’t miss any necessary and important information due to how predictable the story is. I found it to be not as original as some people have claimed it to be. Unmemorable stories aren’t the problem though, it’s simply how this was a story I couldn’t bring myself to care enough about to pay attention to certain details. Yet even missing this would not make a difference in perspective.
I settled on two stars for this at first, but because I’ve become more critical, picky, and grumpy, I can’t bring myself to rate this higher when I didn’t exactly enjoy anything. My rating system used to be the kind where two stars were determined by anything I liked, even the smallest things, even if it seemed like I didn’t like the book whatsoever. However, it has changed throughout and now, enjoyment and like are differed. Just because I appreciate and like something does not mean it was fully enjoyable. In this case, I liked and appreciated some of the sexual tension and sexuality exploration, but it wasn’t something particularly enjoyable, especially considering I didn’t pay attention after a while. If I had read the first book now instead of last year, I would have given it 1-star as well.
Overall, not a fan. I started this with hope, thinking I would like it more than book one, but it wasn’t that much better. Perhaps books five and six, because I’m skipping books three and four, will work out? Only time will tell.
I've been trying to pinpoint what it is about Emmy Sanders' works that literally have me by the neck. And I think I found the answers, of course after traveling to the remotest parts of the earth with only the clothes on my back (I'mdramaticIknow): Her Characters!. And I'm not just talking about the protagonists. ALL. OF. THEM. These are the most loveable, sweet, "protect them at all costs" type fictional people that you just can't help but fall for 🥲. And a secondary reason I love her stuff so much?! they make me swooooon all the way to the moon and back. It may be the southern charm, or the simple beauty of the setting, but I always feel so warm and cozy reading something from her. It's actually illegal that she's only written two books so far, because I would love to defile her backlist, but we'll talk about that another time 😌
This book was your typical friends-with-benefits trope featuring one experienced pornstar and one shy cowboy who's never had the chance to freely explore his sexuality. I loved the ease with which Mateo and Hawthorne become fast friends, and the longing from both of them very early on. It was obvious that these two characters had chemistry even before they physically met. There were never any awkward moments between them even from the getgo. I loved how Mateo was like a kid on a sugar high, but also so confident and sure of himself, despite his struggles. I loved how Hawthorne was our insecure cowboy but when the time came, was so confident in his love for Mateo. I FLOVED THE ENDEARMENT "RABBIT"🦋
Also slight long-distance trope with constant phone calls, surprise visit, phone sex >>>> yeah that part tickled my fancy 😩
I also loved how well Emmy portrayed the depth of their character (not just a caricature cowboy or a porn star). These two struggled with insecurities, both from being burned in the past, but at the center of their relationship we see the simplicity of falling in love with someone who challenges you to become the best version of yourself. And gosh lots of steamy scenes sheeeeesh 🔥🔥 if Fool hearts was fireplace hot, virgin hearts is inferno blazing hot.
“I’m just catching up, okay? I might mess this up a bit.” “That’s all right,” I tell him. “Don’t let me run,” he whispers. “If you do, I’ll follow.”
Gahh I just loved this so much! Made me feel warm 😭 I highly recommend!
I want a Hawthorne of my own. Could the man be any more perfect? A little shy, a little saucy, Hawthorne is all heart and cowboy boots. He's kind, accepting, and so damn sexy.
I'm not entirely convinced that Mateo deserved Hawthorne after the way he pushed Hawthorne away. But Hawthorne saw right though Mateo's defense mechanism. He saw the real Mateo, who was scared to love and trust, not the porn star persona.
Even though I respect sex workers, I was a little uncomfortable that Mateo continued to do porn after he and Hawthorne had hooked up. I just don't find that romantic.
But it worked for the MCs and led them to a riding off into the sunset kind of HEA.
This book was just so sweet, but with many more layers than you’d expect… I think it’s official: I found myself a new auto buy author. ❤️
I really don’t know what it is about Emmy Sanders’s writing, but every time I open one of her books I get sucked into the world she creates and the characters that she writes. She manages to make me laugh and feel and I always end up with this swoony, warm feeling, knowing that I just read something really special.
This book is the second one in this series, and even though it can be read as a stand alone, you just wouldn’t want to pass on the first book, because it’s equally amazing. In this book we get Hawthorne’s story. He’s Easton’s older brother, and he just recently found out about his sexuality. In this phase he’s all still discovering his likes and needs and though he pretty much knows what he wants, he’s also discovered other people misjudging him because of his cowboy looks - being muscular and broad shouldered and tall, he’s often mistaken in the things he craves. One of the things he enjoys is watching porn and because of his subscription to Elite8, he has a favorite pornstar too: Silver. When there’s a chance to meet him in person, he takes the leap and jumps into it. To his surprise he wins, but despite his fangirling, he also needs himself to be respectful and not jump the guy, no matter how much he wants to. Silver is just a stage name for Mateo, and during the time he spends with Hawthorne, he finds himself daring to be Mateo more often than Silver. I loved how Hawthorne and Silver perfectly fit, how they managed to be exactly what the other needed. I loved Hawthorne’s honesty and patience, about how he wanted to fight for what he needed, and how he was okay with Mateo’s career in porn. I loved how supportive he was. I also loved how Mateo handled Hawthorne’s insecurities, how he validated him for the things Hawthorne needed. This book was also really hot, with many steamy scenes that were also about the connection between Hawthorne and Mateo. Their chemistry was beautiful and extraordinary.
It was such a treat to return to Plum Valley and the small Texas town. The ranch, the cattle, the scenery and the vibes are just perfect. It was great to see how Wyatt (I love his witty mouth!) and Easton were doing and I really, really need to read Will’s book!!
So yes, Emmy Sanders is absolutely an author to look out for. She writes beautifully and her words are heartfelt and giving you all the feels. I highly recommend you check out her books!
A copy of this book was kindly provided by the author and this is my honest, unbiased and voluntary review
Edit after rereading via audio: It’s absolutely amazing how Blake Lockheart can switch accents and voices - after all, Hawthorne has that soft Texan drawl, while Matteo has… well. No drawl 😅 he even switched between the voices of Matteo’s “Silver the pornstar” persona to “real” Matteo. Very cool.
As for the story: I didn’t find it as perfect as back then when I first read it, but still highly enjoyable, and with the audio-bonus, it’s still a 5 star review.
Original review:
What an unlikely pair - shy, 30 something “baby gay” cowboy Hawthorne, and the charming porn star porn star Silver aka Mateo.
I didn’t expect to like them as much as I did, and most of all, I couldn’t imagine a porn star (one who actually loves his job) becoming one of the sweetest main characters I’ve encountered in a while.
In the previous book, there’s a pride parade in Plum Valley, the Texan town we came to love. To organise it, Hawthorne needs money, and that’s why he sends an application to his favourite porn channel, hoping to win 5.000$ and the participation of one of the stars of said channel. Trust me, it’s actually very sweet 😍
Enter Silver, one of said stars, who is intrigued by Hawthorne and his cause. In the weeks before the pride parade, they start chatting and talking, becoming friends. And ofc, when the time comes and Silver/Mateo visits, they’re attracted to each other.
I absolutely LOVED their dynamics, and the playful way in which Mateo helped Hawthorne explore his sexuality. And I adored Hawthorne, who sees the man behind the shiny Silver-facade and falls in love with him, and fights for Mateo when Mateo - scared of a real relationship- pushes him away.
Also a plus: the swoony romantic scenes, especially towards the end.
Looking forward to Will’s story now, even though it’s supposed to be an mmm romance - but if anyone can pull it off, it’s this author 🥰
Wow, just wow. This one was a real winner in my book. It captured my attention from the get go and never let me go.
Silver or more accurately Mateo had my heart from the first page we met him. He was such a shining star, shined bright enough to erase his dark past. I adored his cheeky flirtations but more than that I loved how caring and sweet he was.
Hawthorne was no slouch either, his laid back country boy air provided all the swoons. He was interesting in how confident he was in some things but utterly unsure about others.
This story was the unequivocal representation that you can’t judge a book by it’s cover. Which brings me to my favorite part, the dynamic between these men as lovers. It was unexpected, sexy as sin and gave me everything I didn’t know to hope for.
And when emotions grew too big, when these boys made my heart hurt it only made me cheer for them more. I wanted them to have everything because they deserved it. They deserved each other.
Lastly I just want to say how lovely that so much respect was directed at people in the sex industry. It tickled me how cool these Texans were with Mateo’s profession.
Love and respect. It’s something we could always use more of.
“I just have to say one more thing. I know you have this idea in your head that maybe you’re not enough. But you are. You’re sexy and honorable, and any man would be lucky to have you. I know you’re probably convincing yourself otherwise, even right now, but keep that in mind.”
Let’s just start by saying I never knew “rabbit” was an endearment. At first I was like no, that just doesn’t do it but the more I read and got to know these characters I was ok, let’s roll with it. These two are just precious together.
Virgin Hearts by Emmy Sanders is Hawthorne’s and Mateo’s book. This was so sweet and inspiring. I loved the cozy feel of it.
“I’ve never been so excited about a bunch of chicks and their eggs before,” he says. “Usually, I’m all about the cock.”
MM Romance Age gap Virgin MC Small Town Pride Parade Hurt/Comfort Dom/sub vibes Contest Winner Forced proximity Cowboy x porn stars
“Don’t let me run,” he whispers. “If you do, I’ll follow.”
There was a pleasantness of acceptance in this book between Hawthorne and Mateo and it was just so sweet. The way they handled each other and situation so delicately was beautiful. They let themselves be vulnerable and open with each other without judgement and I love it.
Another amazing book Emmy Sanders. This was an incredible read and I can’t wait to continue reading this series.
“I love feeling you, rabbit. You can touch me anytime.”
Oh my gosh, Hawthorne is the cutest cowboy ever. Decorative oranges.... I want to be best friends!!
I loved getting to know Mateo finally - kinda read the books in a weird order because I didn't realise this series preceded the Elite 8 series 😂
I also love how much more outgoing and settled Wyatt is now that everything is out in the open - loved him and Easton in book one but it's so nice seeing them just living 🥹
Chronologically the story starts near the end of Fool Hearts and goes from there.
Once again, Emmy Sanders takes us on a journey and allows us to follow her characters for a few more years. I loved her first book, which took place over a few decades. This one doesn't have such a wide timeframe, but it was a satisfying one as well. It spans enough years to make the relationship between the main characters feel real and strong giving them a perfect HEA.
Hawthorne is a sweet and somewhat lonely guy who has decided it's time to explore his sexuality. He likes his life and his home, his work at the ranch and how close he is with his family, but there's something missing.
Mateo is confident and independent. He's working in the adult entertainment industry while finishing his degree. He likes what he does and, even though he doesn't plan on doing it forever, he doesn't want to change anything about the way his life is constructed at the moment.
Hawthorne is one of Mateo's fans and when he wins a competition they start messaging each other for a few months before they meet in person. When Mateo visits Plum Valley for a few days he's charmed with the small town and its people. And of course with the handsome cowboy who is his tour guide and his host.
This is a sweet story with many scenes that had me laughing. It follows two people meeting, connecting and trying to make it work while living far away from each other. We meet some very interesting new characters and visit some of my favorite old ones. Wyatt was a treat as usual and so funny. I loved his scenes and I was happy to see him and Easton doing so well together.
Next up is Will's story and his heart will go to two guys!
I fucking love Hawthorne. You want a cinnamon roll of a man? That’s him. And Mateo was just perfect for him. I KIND OF (and no one kill me) wish there was more angst and emotional turmoil but 🙈
Hawthorne is the type of cowboy dreams are made of!!
When I read the blurb for this book, I was kind of skeptical. In the past I have had bad experiences with books about porn stars. Let me just say it has nothing to do with the job, it has to do with the fact that he characters always seem to be made out to be objects. Emmy Sanders humanized Mateo on such an emotional level that I truly fell in love with every aspect of who he was. He loved his job and Hawthorne never let him be ashamed of that fact. They had real discussions about it and that was the icing on top of an already delicious cake.
This book was filled with so many of my favorite things!!
✨ age gap ✨ cowboys (so many cowboys) ✨ pride parades ✨ Texas landscapes ✨ a sassy lead ✨ witty banter ✨ did I mention cowboys?
Hawthorne was the one who kind of stole the show for me in this book. I love a damaged hero just as much as the next person, but Hawthorne was so genuine! The way he accepted who he was, what he liked and what was inevitable was beautiful. That is not to say he wasn't shy, because he was but after he got out of his own head you started seeing the real Hawthorne.
There are so many things I could say about this book, but I am not going to. This book was a surprise on several levels. If you have read Fool Hearts you already know what you are getting into with the family and the small Texas town of Plum Valley. The only thing to do now is enjoy the story of Hawthorne and Mateo.
Emmy Sanders really knows how to capture your attention and keep you hooked.
Hawthorne and Mateo were such a sweet couple and I loved how they both helped each other grow as people.
However, this definitely was not as good as Fool Hearts and is leaning towards being cringey at times. I will be reading book 3 because I need to see what happens with Wyatt and Easton's son Will.
“You don’t have to be afraid, Matty. I’ve never been in love, either. We can go slow. Do it together.”
I’ll die on the hill that Emmy Sanders is such a beautiful writer and I know many people will die up there with me because whew it’s just so nice how dialogue and story telling all flow to well together in their books.
Mateo and Hawthorne are such a good match and their characters really brought out the best pieces of each other, which I loved. There also wasn’t too much angst in this one and it leaves you with such a good and fuzzy feeling.
Highly recommend for a light and easy read if you haven’t read it yet.
Hawthorne and Mateo were so perfectly imperfect that I felt that connection with them. This didn’t make me cry as much but I still needed tissues and pillows to hug. The rawness and tenderness this story brought was just gratifying. I was rooting for their HEA throughout the book, even all the characters were just lovely. I’m just so glad there’s one more book in the series (Will’s) and I get to immerse myself in Plum Valley once more.
I had somewhat mixed feelings on book 1, though I mostly liked it, but I was dragging my feet on book 2 because I had a feeling I wouldn't love it, and I was mostly right. :/
A lot of this is personal preference, as sex workers & porn stars are professions I'm really quite particular about reading. I appreciated the sex-positive approach here, but it just felt SO unrealistic to me that literally every single person in the book was absolutely cool with Mateo working as a porn star & continuing to do so while in a relationship with Hudson. That is the attitude they should have!! But these are all Texas boys from a small town, and it truly strained credulity that there wouldn't even be a "it makes me uncomfortable but I'm trying to be supportive" kind of thing from any of the side characters. I think there was a way for the author to approach this in a way that felt actually more representative of current attitudes without being super depressing/while pushing a sex-positive message, and instead I felt like a got a very rose-colored white-washed version of reality.
Otherwise, I did enjoy Hudson and Mateo and the smutty dynamics between them super worked for me. We got a decent amount of the characters from the last book, but not in an overpowering way, and the next book's focus was introduced quite subtly and only at the end.
My other big issue was just that things got really mushy towards the very end, in a way that again, is just really not my thing. Semi-public declarations, and just lots of gooeyness. YMMV. I am a grinch.
TBH, the next book in the series doesn't seem super up my alley either. I'll probably read it, but I wouldn't be surprised if, like this one, it's just okay for me. So far this author has generally entertained me, and most of what I haven't liked has just been due to the fact that they seem to enjoy writing tropes/concepts that I don't personally enjoy, a trend that is likely to continue with their next spin-off series of the porn-stars introduced in this book... I'll keep an eye out for a release that seems more up my alley!
WELP FOLKS. WE’VE GOT A NEW FAVORITE SERIES, ITS OFFICAL. 😌
Gd I just left the wholesome atmosphere of Plum Valley. Because of this series I am now seriously considering buying a horse ranch in the middle of bum fuck nowhere. I’m half joking. But seriously some thing about this town in these characters leaves you with a warm fuzzy feeling that it’s hard not to miss.
Virgin hearts was an awesome follow up in the Plum Valley series. Though it was quite different than the first book.
🐴 what I loved ♥️ Important sex positive messages about the porn industry and the importance of safe sex ♥️ Hawthorne‘s openness ♥️ Mateo‘s kindness ♥️ their love for each other ♥️ Obviously the setting
My only hangup, if you can even call it that, is one that I mentioned in one of my updates. It just felt really unrealistic to me that no one would be phased by Mateo‘s job in the porn industry. Like one of the things I love about the male male genre is that it’s a suspends conventional heteronormativity as it exists in our day-to-day lives. Like everyone in mm romances, or specifically this one, was really queer in there thinking about how people should live their lives. And I love that because it’s great but sometimes it’s also just like that isn’t how the world works. Which is sadder than anything else
Anyways, read the series then flood my DM‘s with how much you love it.
I officially have heart eyes for Emmy Sanders. I will follow her into the dark if she keeps writing books like this one. My face hurt from smiling so much while I was reading. It had the perfect mix of banter, humor, sweetness, and steam with just enough angst to keep it from being fluffy. I loved Wyatt and Easton in Fool Hearts (and it was so much fun seeing them again in this book!), but Hawthorne and Mateo were next level and made me so freaking happy.
Hawthorne was the sweetest cinnamon roll cowboy ever. Every time he took a chance and put himself out there for Mateo I got so nervous that Mateo was going to destroy his ooey gooey heart - nice guys finish last and all that. But Mateo was so kind and understanding and genuinely interested in all things Hawthorne. He also had the cutest personality, always smiling and laughing and taking in the world around him with childlike wonder. Separately they could not have been more different, but their differences made them work well together. They were both able to give something that the other needed and I loved how supportive their relationship was.
I did feel like the "bleak moment" came out of no where and I felt emotionally unprepared when it happened. Maybe I missed some clues somewhere along the line, but it felt out of character and I felt kind of blindsided. The rest of the story was so good that I was able to forgive it and move on, but I'd be lying if I didn't admit that it rained on my parade a little.
As a whole, though, I loved this book and am going to take a chance on Will's story next, even though it's MMM and that is not my jam. I'm really excited about the Elite8 series, though. For some reason I love it when porn stars fall in love and I already have some favorites that I can't wait to read about. Just please don't mess up Tink the way K.M Neuhold and Nora Phoenix broke my heart with Pixie. I still haven't recovered from the way they did my boy.
There are certain books that come along that make me wish I was a better writer so I could write a review that can accurately describe how the book made me feel and does the book justice. If you didn’t guess, this would be one of those times.
Emmy writes really incredible and heartfelt stories. Every line holds so much emotion, and it has you vacillating between laughing and crying and swooning. It’s fun and flirty, but soulful and sweet too. The book feels so natural and flows so effortlessly. But let’s be honest, hot cowboys with a Texas drawl help too.
Hawthorne is the kindest cowboy to ever roam the open fields and he must be protected as a treasure. He’s so patient and open and accepting of others, especially Mateo. He sees the real Mateo, not just his persona. And Mateo shows Hawthorne that he is perfect just the way he is.
I of course also love the family and friends of Plum Valley, they are quirky and funny and loving. Though you don’t need to read the first book, Fool Hearts, to read this, their story is wonderful and it’s so great to see them all again here. Shout out to my favourite, Wyatt, he’s absolutely hilarious. Can’t wait for Wil’s story next. And to hopefully meet more of the Elite 8 crew in the future.
These 2 were so fun that I did not anticipate my ass ending up in tears toward the end there.
Picture this, a cowboy who came to terms with the fact he's gay later in life and his favourite porn star throwing a pride parade together.... SAY LESS. Chuck in Hawthornes sunny laid back nature and Matteos slightly jaded, take no shit attitude and I was obsessed with them. This had lots of laughs along with lots of firsts, and I fleeeeew through it. Hawthorne and Matteo were the sweetest angels, and i had such a good time with them.
Starszy , przystojny cowboy ... prawiczek i gwiazda porno... no co może pójść nie tak. No właśnie , wszystko tu grało. Will patrze na Ciebie!!!
Why do I do this to myself? I knew she would hurt me but I went in anyway. 😔
Hawthorne, my sweet, gap toothed Hawthy. 🥹 He just wants to LOVE & love hard. He’s got this house and this land and all this time but no one to share it with. He’s there for everyone at the drop of a hat but he just keeps being put in a box he doesn’t fit in… Until he meets Mateo.
Marty, Matty, Matty. Mateo is a fire ball that just blazes his way through life. He sucks the air out of a room in the best way possible, but what happens when someone cools that fire and looks underneath? He wants to help people but refuses to help himself or let anyone even see that he needs help.
I only cried once which in Emmy Sanders terms, it means I won. 🥰 usually it’s at least 3, so I’ll take the W.
The grand gestures? Whew. The spice? Duh. It’s hot and emotional and everything I expected from Emmy 🥹🥹
I love Plum Valley. I have questions about where it is geographically because “Plum Valley” being an hour from San Antonio means it could only be a few places. It’s not relevant but the Texan in me is curious 😂
I’m not going to rate this book because I don’t have a strong dislike towards it like the other books I’ve dnfed. It wasn’t bad, it actually was very sweet, but I know if I continued with it I would just give it 3 stars. Not enough things were happening plot-wise, which I’ve learned is something I need in order to love a story. Also, the nickname rabbit and saying thank you after a blowjob… 🤮🤮
4.5 Stars- Mateo and Hawthorne ❤️ This was really good! Grabbed my attention from the very first chapter and I could not put it down. It was sweet, funny and sexy. Both main characters were so adorable in their own precious way. Definitely a winner
