Cody’s missions as top American agent, “the President’s man,” have seen him tackle terrorists, drug lords and international assassins. But nothing—nothing—could prepare him for the potent alliance of evil created when General Greb Vetrov teamed up with Thelma Justice.
Vetrov is the global arms dealer, specializing in the sale of diverted Soviet-era Russian nukes to terrorist groups and rogue nations. One of the wealthiest criminals alive, no photograph of Vetrov has appeared in years. He’s a noted ex-military strategist who literally wrote the book on prevailing nuclear endgame theory. Thelma Justice is the biggest media star since Oprah. Her wealth, influence and global media presence is unrivaled. The insane obsession secretly shared by these two: decimate civilization with Vetrov’s nukes so Thelma’s “enlightened” worldview can rise from the ashes with her as its ruler.
For Suicide Cody and Sara Durrell, it’s a red-hot race against time to stop this New Millennium Bonnie and Clyde from blowing up the world. And time is running out . . .

Their mission is to stop two rogue terrorist groups planning to use thirty stolen nukes against the world! Cody and Sara are working with Alain Jacquard, a retired intelligence operator in Monte Carlo. Traveling with them is Aisha; she believes that she wants to work with Thelma Justice but is unaware at this point that Thelma is working with the Russian Vetrov, the global arms dealer. That same dealer is planning to sell the nukes to the highest bidder, a new Jihad group that wants to take over the world, and the story begins.
Join Cody, Sara, Aisha, and Jacquard as they rush to stop the three groups from destroying the world…
What did I like? Well, they don’t call him “Suicide Cody” for nothing, and this storyline certainly works to prove it. The group is under extreme duress, trying to keep away from Aisha’s brother, locate and stop all the terrorists, plus stay alive while they do it!
What will you like? EXTREME action, mega mystery, including adding another group of killers that they had no idea were involved in the situation. This book is filled with more players and hold your breath actions than Carter has liver pills. You definitely will not want to miss the next book in the Cody’s War series, brought to us by Stephen Mertz, “Lethal Assault,” which is available NOW!!!
Danger and drama continues in Lethal Assault, the second book of Stephen Mertz's Justice Trilogy
Our Heroes
• Jack Cody, clandestine agent who reports to US President Martin Harwood • Sara Durrell, Jack's CIA control officer • Aisha bint al-Ahmad, a princess of a city-state in the United Arab Emirates who was previously rescued by Jack and Sara. She now has an early first Century clay tablet considered to be a world-wide change in modern society within the 21st Century. • Jacquard, a valuable teammate to Jack and Sara
The Anti-Heroes
• Thelma Justice, mega-super star who wants the tablet from Aisha which she believes will change the world into a women-led society • Russian General Greb Vetrov, a Russian arms dealer of nuclear weapons • Prince Achmed bint al-Ahmad, Aisha's older brother who wants to kidnap her and take her back home. • A team of Vatican operatives who want the tablet from Aisha and are willing to do anything to get it from her.
Cody and Sara are doing everything possible to stay alive as the four anti-heroes are continuing their individual missions. So be prepared, because of the continuing danger and gunfights, it's definitely a non-put-downable book.
This is the second book in a three book series. Unlike most series there is no closure of any story line at the end of the books. Its beyond annoying for me. I don't mind leaving a thread or to hanging to entice me to get the next book, but a good book should be largely stand alone. Not sure if I'll read the third one or not. I read many authors and am not in a hurry to pick up book three from this one...
Solid thriller writing here - not too flashy or fancy. The beginning of this book drags a little, and some of the dialogue at the climax is hokey, but overall another solid addition to this series.
