It seemed like a perfect decision — a simple geographical move, a chance for a better life, and a desire for upward mobility. Yet something felt off…
Treshawn Sullivan, and his wife, Shanika, decides to leave the state of North Carolina in order to pursue a better life in the town of Glenfield, Virginia. He looks forward to exploring the area with the assistance of his first cousins, Kevin and Hakeem Armstrong. His wife is especially excited when she discovers that a televangelist named Ezekiel Hopeland has a church located in the area.
Over time, however, they realize that everything is not as great as it appears. Treshawn discovers that numerous people have been disappearing mysteriously in the town for years. Things go from bad to worse when one of his cousins goes missing as well. What happens next will take Treshawn on a supernatural journey — one that might lead him, and his loved ones, to a point of no return!
J.C. Maine’s writing style is crisp and to the point, which makes this story of lust and sinful ambition ever more impactful. Bloody Religion examines the misuse of power in a world where a beloved leader manipulates affection, intimacy—and violence—to control and corrupt: A church-going community falls prey to their pastor, but a newcomer has the rare ability to recognize the Satanic (aka vampiric) villain and challenge his religious word. Our hero—Treshawn—is honourable, the stakes are high, and Paster Hopeland is a creep that does the Fallen Angel trope justice. I really liked this story, and was hooked from start to finish.
I found this book via the author's Twitter, and I am so glad I did! This story is so gripping and has everything you would want from a good read! Villains, flawed protagonists, suspense, action, love. It was a thrilling read - graphic in some parts, but that only had me eager to read more and find out what happened next. It was heart pounding! Would definitely recommend!
Excellent story about a Christian group of believers that have to fight the archangel Samyaza. Easy to read and engage with my imagination to feel and be in this story.
My first JC Maine Kindle book to read. I anticipate to read his other Kindle books.
A thoroughly enjoyable read. Read the whole book in two sessions, couldn't wait to see what happened next. JC has taken the TV Evangelist and added an extra element. I am certainly looking forward to reading other books by this author
“Bloody Religion” is a great read. I really like the characters and there is just enough suspense to keep the reader hooked. I look forward to reading more books by JC Maine.
Amazing insight on fallen angels, demons & demonic creatures
Excellent, Excellent read !
This book at 1st I was hesitant on reading however JC Maine nailed it and if JC if U don’t realize it U DID and well take it from someone who knows about fallen angels & so much more
Good story, but it left me wanting more. Well rounded characters, fun and believable. This is my first read from this author, but surely it will not be my last.
What an interesting concept. This was a good read that kept my attention. The tele-evangelist was something else as forgiveness wasn’t his strongest quality.
