I found my family. Soul-bonded to three wonderful monsters. I’m not a beauty, and my beasts don’t dance. They are full-blown growly werewolves.
Daddy Bear healed the battered little girl caged inside me.
Beautiful Cassius reminded me not to take myself too seriously as he danced to the beat of his own tune.
Dominant Darius was the complicated mountain hurricane I craved to defy.
Gentle Silas was my best friend and the caretaker of my heart.
Did it matter that only one of my four mates was human?
My body was going through dangerous and unexplainable changes that might hurt Silas. My wolven mates responded by putting restrictions on our private interactions until they could figure out what was happening to me. They should have known by now, I loved crossing red lines and Silas was as stubborn as he was tall.
The murders on the Appalachian Trail were still happening, and they might hold us responsible. The Measure was sniffing around the homestead, making Bear tense and unpredictable. But his enemy might have the answers I needed to control my unpredictable new self.
Something dark was coming for me and… my period was late.
I write dirty fae, vampire and monster romance. My males are dark and dominant. My females are flawed, sometimes hard to handle, and definitely grow throughout the series.
My fae world overlaps, as do some of my characters. Chaistolf was my first character and with him blossomed the Spark Bonded Series. It's a vast series of six big arse books. Starts all lovey dovey, but gets darker as the series goes on.
The more I wrote in the Spark Bonded Series, the more I explored the darkness of romance. Now, I live there.
MM? Usually. MFM? Often. MMF? More often than not. Noncon? Happens. Monster Porn? Got it. I'm not afraid to take you down a path others might fear.
“I could play with the guys all I wanted, but Bear owned my soul. He owned all our souls. My daddy wolf.”
I loved the different relationships she had with her guys. Esp Silas and D. Finding out she's a sex demon made total sense 🤭 SO.MUCH.BANGING. I got bored. (Skimmed) It's a fun take on werewolfs tho.
It would seem that I cannot simply say, "i did not like this book", without some form of explanation, so, let's begin, shall we?
Let's start with the pseudo incest... Hardley's uncle, Her "distant" grandfather and then Silas and Darius. Incest is not a trigger for me however, like anyone else, I would have appreciated a little warning. It was nauseating. I get that in the end, we find out that her uncle, wasn't really family but, she didn't know that, so, case one! And then, Silas and Darius... adopted, I get that but, they were raised as brothers, so, they were brothers.. ARE brothers. So, that was a wee on the wiggy side... and then, omg... the dark realm... where, in order to escape, they had to ORGASM while her "distant" grandfather watched, and participated!?
Let's move on to the sex... I love some hard, passionate smut with my RH... The more the merrier IF, it is written well however, it is NOT in this book. The first book, was iffy but, it made sense... in this book, it's terrible. It doesn't flow as well... it is just a bunch of fucking, and fucking whenever, wherever the mood hits. And again, that wouldn't be so bad... if it was well written. Several times, in every single chapter, someone is getting their dicks wet.
Also in the sex department, the violence against Hardley while pregnant. I don't give a flying fuck how much I like sex, and yes, even BDSM, you do NOT treat a pregnant woman the way Darius treated Hardley. The stress, as we all know, could have harmed her baby. It would likely have been a tad better, if the author had at least acknowledged the pregnancy, while all this fuckery was happening but, nope. Not one single mention that the stress could have harmed her baby. I think that is disrespectful of all mothers. Just an opinion.
Omg, I can't believe I have to say this but... NEXT!
After the dark realm chapter... the first one, this book should have been wrapped up. There was zero need for it to be as long as it was. If anything, the should have made another, separate book, to carry on. By that time, so much had happened. It was just too much.
The book lost the plot once she was captured.
There are so many unanswered questions... let's name a couple, shall we?
Why did Dennis, attack Hardley? Why did he hate her so much? All she did with Dennis was apologize... not once did she attack him.
Why did Verity, straight off the bat, try to kill Hardley's wolf? What we now know, is that she had known who Hardley was the whole time, so why did she try to murder her son's mate, knowing full well what she meant to them, with the hopes that they would still love her after the fact? What was the "big secret" that the twins would "know" as soon as they "came through the portal"? We never found that out, unless it was that she had been spying on them, and then the points I made above come into play.
I am getting frustrated writing this review, and with so much more that I did not like about this book spinning about in my head, I feel, at least right now, that it may not be best for my mental health to keep going with this review. I get so angry when I see that a book has so many awesome reviews, only to find extreme faults with it. I have to wonder who these people are, that are writing these positive reviews without even touching on the issues.
Even right now, as I am attempting to close this review down, more and more things are coming to mind that I feel need answers but, I will let YOU be the judge. Now that I have pointed out some MAJOR flaws, you are aware of them, and I am warning you, that there are so many more issues, maybe you will see them too, and be prepared for them.
Maybe I am not saying that right but, what can I say... this book FUCKED with my head.
I sorta liked the first book. but, this one was an EPIC fail.
I feel bad that the other reviewers sugarcoated their opinions because, I do not believe for one moment that seasoned readers didn't see the same issues I did.
I think it's best, when reviewing a book, to be honest. And this was my honest opinion.
DO NOT waste your money on this book but, if you do... be prepared.

Every question from the first book was answered in the second, and it was wrapped up beautifully! I have read a lot of 'why choose' books with shifters and this is my favorite! The Mountain Menace duet has very complex, dark elements so please check trigger warnings.
THE SMUT! OMG, I do not know how the author created such different relationships between the FMC and each of her male partners. I was blown away by how well it was written!
I loved that the plot never lot interest even with how much smut there was. Sometimes, the author can lose sight of the plot line, but not here. The plot moves right along while my jaw continued to drop due to the bombshells that were lying in the pages.
Seriously, this has been my favorite read. I read it in two days and it is a pretty long book!
Cannot wait for it to come out so I can but the physical copies and make notes!

Hot! Hot! Hot! And also a great story. So imaginative. It hit all of my kinks for sure. I loved how all of the story lines and characters had a disposition. Even if it is another series at least I know the author didn’t forget about them. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥/5
WOW! This book dragged me in from the beginning and didn't let me go until the last page. I really liked how the author developed the story of this extraordinary family and how the relationship between Hardley and her mates has evolved. The heroine has so far thought of herself only as the daughter of a serial killer. She has never had a chance to discover who she really is. At last, we have the opportunity to get to know her origins and experience the changes that take place in her life with her. Sweet Silas, cheerful Cassius, dominant grumpy Darius and Daddy Bear also show new sides to their personalities. Together, they make the perfect mix. And although the role of daddy in the books does not suit me entirely, here it worked great, both as an alpha of the wolven pack, the head of the Jaxton family and a mate who helps Hardley find herself in the new reality. The book is full of actions and twists that still keep the reader's attention. This time, the action takes place not only in the mountains, but also in the dark realm and at the Measure headquarters. Thanks to this, we have the opportunity to meet various paranormal creatures that fate puts in the way of our heroes. As in the previous book, there are also many erotic scenes (that are even more dark and spicy) in both human and wolven form. Even Hardley discovers a taste for not only submission but also domination. But the sex scenes do not overwhelm the entire plot. I think it's one of the better books in the Reverse Harem Romance and Dark Monster Romance genres, and it's worth to reach out for the Mountain Menace series. Warning: #1) Don't be a prude: there is pretty much something for everyone in this book, and it is oh so graphic! M/M, M/F, M/F/M, M/M/F/M. #2) Be there monsters here: it's a paranormal story, so if that's not your thing, don't read it. #3) Check your triggers: abandonment, blood play, and a few others. #4) This is Book 2.
Hardley and her mates are back, trying to settle themselves into a strong family unit all the while there's still an unknown threat stalking their mountain.
Proctor warns in her introduction that her characters didn't want to keep their clothes on, and ohhhhhh, she was not lying! Even with all the graphically intense scenes, then whole overall structure feels better than the first book. The paranormal/realm building seemed stronger in this book as well. The ending seemed to carry on a little longer than necessary, but it still ended on a HEA with the pack strong and solid.
This book packs a lot of information into the ever changing lives of the Jaxton's and Hardley. There were several twists with Hardley that were great ah-ha moments that answered some of the unanswered questions left from Mountain Menace. The storyline left several off shoots that could be expanded on from the Dark Fae to the Measure. There were plenty of hot and spicy scenes with all 4 of Hardley's men who are so different that you get to experience everything from your toe curling love scenes, knife and blood play, Dom and Sub scenes, a bit of Daddy kink, and of course wolven sexcapades!! This book is definitely well rounded when it comes to spicy. I received an advanced review copy for free and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Not a standalone; must read book 1 before this one. Mind the trigger and content warnings in the book because it's a bit darker than the previous one.
I'm so sad to see this end. One of my favorite RH series with good world building, relationship building, and plenty of steam. The author warned beforehand that the characters didn't want to keep their clothes on, so I was expecting just a PWP, but nope, we got a ton of plot along with it. Definitely not as much smut as I thought there would be and definitely not a PWP.
None of the character relationships change much. We meet new side characters that I thought would be added to the harem, but nope, it stays MMFMM with a side of pseudo-taboo for one couple. Was also kinda hoping Cassius and Silas would develop/pair up, but near the very end, Cassius clears it up by telling Hardley that he doesn't feel that way about Silas. Was also kinda hoping for some Darius and Cassius taboo since it mentioned "very taboo elements" in the warning at the beginning, but it doesn't go that way (unfortunately for me). So rest-assured for all the readers that like book 1's dynamics, because there are no changes.
I loved all the new revelations and discoveries we get in this VERY VERY CHONKY second book. We learn so many things and there's extra world-building outside their cozy home and many new characters that I adore (and wish had been added to the harem too like Lukenon and Ryzier yummm), but alas, they're taken.
I was almost thinking this could have ended at a cliffhanger in the middle and the latter half could've been a book 3, but I'm also glad I got to finish everything and not have to wait for another book. Very sad to see this end in a duet but so happy for the happy ending and happy epilogue that Hardley, Bear, Silas, Darius, Cassius and more got. Cannot wait for more books from this author!
I received an ARC of this book and this is my honest review. All opinions are my own and not influenced by the author.
As in book one make sure you know your triggers! That is if you have any lol. Wonderful characters are back. The relationship as strange as it may be lol continues to develop. The biggest development that I was excited to see was Hardley finding her self. she lived so long in her father shadow of his past that she never realized what she was and could be. But not only does she develop so do the males in her life. We learn more about them as well. All four are similar but yet very unique. We also going to a different realm where we meet more fascinating paranormal creatures. As in book one you may need a cold glass of water reading the erotic scenes lol. Also as in book one they are not overwhelming but they are hot!
For starters, I’m not a fan of Monsters/shifters books. I do love dark romance. So I read the first one and I loved it. Then I read this one and OMG!!!!!! It has been a great introduction to these kind of books. Every doubt or hypothesis I had on the first one, is answered here. It’s a ver hot book, but never miss the plot. And every turn in Hardley’s life is something I didn’t expect. I loved how she worked the relationships between the Jaxton’s men. How every one of them gave her what she needed. I loved it. I know I shouldn’t, but I want so much more!!!!!

“I could play with the guys all I wanted, but Bear owned my soul. He owned all our souls. My daddy wolf.”
Hardley is settling into life on the homestead with her mates. The wolven need to establish the pecking order of the pack when it comes to Hardley and we get some hot and steamy scenes while they work the kinks out.
The spice in this book is turned up tenfold from the first one, they are well and truly in the honeymoon period of the relationship. But we do still get plot. The measure become involved when Hardley starts to show signs of magic to help identify her heritage and she gets some surprises along the way.
~Thanks you booksirens and the author for this arc, this is my honest review~
Please read trigger warnings.
It took me a little bit to get into this book because my brain was question how?! But once it stopped I enjoyed it. There is so much spice its hard to see the trees from the forest but they are there.
1 female, 4 males….not only are they her soul bonded but they each cater to different sides of her needs. A daddy figure, a dom, a sub, and a fully human male, don't be fooled though she also loves being vouyeristic.
There is a plot and it follows her straight into the dark fae realm where she finds out part of her heritage.
This is book 2 in a duet: it cannot be read as a standalone. Read Mountain Menace first. Mountain Murder is a great end to an awesome duet! Hardley and her men contact the Measure to learn more about her ancestry. They also find out why Hardley smells so much of Silas. When Hardley gets kidnapped, the wolvens turn feral, and they need Bear to keep it together to be able to go rescue their mate. Will they get there in time? What happened to Hardley during that time?
This book was really great! The ending is very satisfying, and you get the HEA you came for... I'd recommend this duet to any fan of shifter romance who likes RH and some MM ⚔️. Go read this!

10/10! Would recommend this book but with this book I would suggest reading book 1 as well I could hardly put the books down one and two you started it and you just got drawn in it was amazing how all the characters could come together and it made me think about my past traumas as well and dealing with them. I like how you could feel like you were there like you were the person in the book it was amazing with solely recommend for those who like him reverse harems and that twist of paranormal life in living in the mountains. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
It was OK, but the second book went on way too long for me. It got boring and annoying. I found myself skimming to the end. Personally, I would have liked it more if it ended with Fort Jaxton then went directly to the epilogue.
What Hardley turned out to be was kind of predictable. As well as why Silas's smell stayed with her.
Chapter 26: Darius and Silas' s&m scene was too long and overdrawn.
I also really wasn't into Cass being a "femboy". Cass wearing the skirts didn't bother me because he said he liked how it made his junk feel. But when Hardley was calling him Cassie and dominating him, I was like ugh not my kink.
This was an epic conclusion to the Mountain duet, and I couldn’t believe how it managed to get even hotter and spicier than the first (like, 10k/5 🌶). It was awesome seeing how Hardley’s relationships developed with each individual and as a pack. And getting answers on what she is and how she changes? awesome. AND I totally guessed right about what the ending of the first book meant, and *no spoilers* it was so satisfying. They are a complete, beautiful family, with their own individual k!nks and love. Epic!
Solid 3.5 read. I just finished the second book and I gotta say I'm kinda disappointed. I mean don't get me wrong it was worth it and hot enough but it didn't really call to me it was a lot tamer than the first book. Also I was expecting some more group love and that's not what I got. We never really got a three way between her and Silas and Darius only like a peak once and it never happened again. She also never defiled her femboy like I wanted that's whatever though but I can't get over how I didn't get that 3way scene lol. So I'm dropping a star still a good read though.

Have you ever read the first book in a series and thought to yourself "wow that was so good, I hope the next one has more smutt in it"??
Well I did with the first book in this series and let me just say...this book borders on unreadable. You get about half a page of plot development and non sex related things before suddenly they're fucking again. That carrys on for the rest of the chapter and halfway into the next.
The overall plot wasn't as intriguing or well-developed as in the first book. However, if monster smut is what you want monster smut is what you will get in this book. Please read all triggers before proceeding and enjoy. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
A fabulous, dark and spicy read that had me gripped throughout. This second book developed the relationships so beautifully. Love and passion between them all. There was a lot of twist and turns and smut. I really loved these characters.

I loved the storyline and i thought it moved at a great pace. There was action, suspense and lots of yummy steam! I loved each of the guys and I'm glad we got their POVs as well. The author did a fantastic job of making each of them unique. They all filled a special role in Hardleys life and truly completed each other. I loved it! Such a great duet!!!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book! It satisfied all my taboo tropes plus some. It was funny, romantic, steamy, thrilling and a thorough feeling age turner. I love how connected each character is and how well thought out the plot was!

I REALLY enjoyed this book series. It’s quite dark and there are MANY trigger warnings so beware going into it. But I loved the many kinks and darkness that the characters dealt with and worked through.
Some days you just wanna read something dark, dirty and delicious!
What a great book, absolutely loved this ending! One unique set of mates. The growth in all the characters was so good to experience. This series was straight fire! Highly recommend it!
I wasn't sure if any book, including the sequel, could beat my love of Mountain Menace, however, AM KILLED IT. The spice in this book is incomparable and the relationship building between the pack was incredible. Truly Silas will forever have my heart. Hardly is a kick a*s FMC.
Awesome book! I loved it to the very end! Had my crying and laughing .. and at times I couldn't tell what emotions I was feeling! Was just spectacular!
