Invaded

Rate this book
A planet of women invaded by an army of men.
A queen conquered by a warrior's obsession.

Like all women of Cytherea, Queen Lirilith had always believed men to be the stuff of fairy tales. Until the invaders came. Brutal warriors from beyond the stars.

It turns out men really do exist, and they are terrifying.

Their leader is Ultor, and he is the most terrifying of them all, a dark and dominating mountain of muscle and scar tissue. He has come to conquer Lirilith’s planet, but now she is the conquest he desires. Her womb is his obsession. He wants his baby inside her, and he’ll stop at nothing to put it there, even if he must destroy her entire world in the process.

Now Lirilith must decide. How much is she willing to surrender to save her planet from destruction?

Sometimes, the only way to best your enemy is on your knees.

I skimmed a few reviews before downloading this monster 650 page book. Everyone seemed to enthusiastically love it. As an avid reader of all things sci-fi, and especially sci-fi romance, I was all in!!

I was confused after the first chapter, then laughing at the ridiculousness the next. It's like bad porn, or one of those made for TV movies on at 3am. Something you normally wouldn't watch, but since it's on you might as well.
“You were made for my cock, woman,” Ultor whispered. “My cock is your new throne. Sit on it, like a good little queen.”
Two planets. One with only men, and one with only women, and they have no clue what the other looks like. Most importantly, no idea how babies are made. (It's assumed artificial means but never quite explained) The male planet invades the female planet and off we go.

Imagine the surprise the first time the Queen opens communications and gets an eyeful of what a male is. Unfortunately, she asks for proof that he is really a man. So he proceeds to show her.
On the screen, more fluid spurted from Ultor’s organ. Great gouts of white cream oozed down the frame like a descending curtain, gradually obstructing the view. Lirilith could no longer see Ultor, but she could still hear his rough panting.
I can't!!!!!! 🤣

I swear this book has to be written tongue-in-cheek.

It honestly has some great moments, but they are overpowered by the high level of cheese.
What Ultor was talking about now was evil beyond measure. For a woman to touch herself was a sin. To be touched by another woman was even worse. But to let a man touch her there—a filthy man!—and not just touch her, but enter her, to penetrate her with his own shameful anatomy… It was sinful beyond all comprehension.
Yes, I actually finished it. No, it didn't get much better. It’s a fun, basic smut, without much character depth...but good for what it was! And hey, it’s the first book I’ve read where both MC are adults, and virgins.

I've never tried this author before, but this book was making the rounds and I had my reasons for trying it.

* it's scifi romance, one of my not-so-secret pleasures
* it mentions breeding kink — YUM!!
* sex, filthy sex, all the sex
* an actual plot

Did it deliver?

Why yes... Yes, it did!

I will warn you though... this book was long!!

Could it have been shorter? Probably. But then I'd probably complain about it lacking something 😝😝

I enjoyed it, which is all that matters. Will I read from this author again? You better believe it!

Battle of the Sexes, Lizzy style!!

What happens when a planet of only men invade a planet of only women....kinky chicanery, of course!!

One lovely day, Lirilith, the Queen of Cytherea watches in dismay as starships land outside of the dome of Kallistos, Cytherea's main city. When they answer the incoming transmission to see what these unknown aliens want, they are horrified and dismayed to see that it is men. Men who are known only in myths and the specter of scarytales.

But these men are very big and very real and laughing at the little soft beings they are staring at. The men were informed by their clergy that these are the women they are on mission to take back to their planet of Tharsis, by the order of King Zabaddon. Commander Ultor is drawn to the fiery haired little Queen and believes this is gonna be the easiest invasion ever.

Sweet but naive Lirilith might have something to say about that...

And here we go again. Lizzy B. comes up with the most creative, outlandish, tongue in cheek, smutty yet somehow still with all the feels romance in the SFR genre. I laughed, I cried, I rolled my eyes and I still kept furiously turning pages. I ate it up. And wanted seconds!

Watching Ultor the epitome of every alpha male caricature get twisted up and turned around by a sweet and self sacrificing red head was extremely entertaining. Then to top things off as Ultor started to figure how to handle his little queen, we get some organically grown BDSM kink. Say what?! Ya heard me...I said things get kinky.

I loved this so much. It had a great storyline, plenty of action, intrigue, political machinations, yet with so much smutty goodness and lighthearted to boot. I think I had a stupid grin on my face through most of this. Watching Ultor and Lirilith figure out how everything worked and what parts went where, and Ultor's ways of trying to fix his baby batter from spilling back out Lirilith's place of shame had me cackling like a madwoman.

I don't know how Lizzy keeps coming up with these stories, but I'm so glad she is and I pray she keeps 'em coming.

Even though this is an ARC review, I will always shoot you straight. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Okay.. Walk with me for a moment..

I have to say that I've had this book on my Kindle for a VERY long time.. Longer than I care to admit. Especially since this is my girl, Lizzy's effort.. But I guess something told me that I wasn't ready to read this one when I first added it.. Fast forward to late last month (October) to now-November, and I've finally finished this book. I have to be honest here, it took me a minute to truly get into this story. There is a lot of information (654 pages worth) So I am glad that this is a standalone read. It covers a lot of info and plot and world building. Well, more so plot and character building. Not so much the world(s), which I still felt was done just right. I hate to get bogged down with too much info about where they are and what everything looks like at every turn, when you're already getting so much with the plot and the character(s) purpose of the story. I was already getting impatient for things to finally grab me. Usually this happens quickly for me with a Lizzy read, but here it didn't.

So, things did not start to truly grip me here until about the 50% mark of the story. So this is why I took a half star off of my rating. Also, in the latter part of the book, there is a scene between Liri and Ultor (fantasy scene) that they were imitating at Liri's request.. WTAF was that?! This was beyond weird and just so NOT sexy. I felt this had no place in this story. All physical intimacy scenes up to this point between them, were very much on point. Sexy, consuming, and just down right dirty, but in the best possible ways. But this? NOPE..

These are the two reasons why I gave this 4.5 stars.. I also would have preferred to see what was happening on Tharsis with Ultor while he was away.. It was nice to see what Liri was going through and what she discovers about her past, but a dual view of what was happening with them both at this time, would have been much better for me. Especially since Ultor and his planet are a warring nation. What was at stake here, and the outcomes because of it, it would have been stellar to actually see these things play out. It would have made for a much richer ending and Epilogue as well. It certainly would have gotten this book to a 5 star rating from me.

Now, to those who have an aversion to witnessing the physical act of love between a man and a woman, this story may be a bit too much for you. I get it. Those pearls get to heating up and choking those necks and they just can't take it. I get it.. We all have our limits and our lines we draw..

But I also feel a little sad for such individuals too... It makes you miss the actual point of the story when you're so hung up on.. well, your hangups. These scenes could just be skimmed over while reading, if it's simply not your cuppa tea.. But I digress..

This story isn't just about the physical act of love and lust. There is a point and a much deeper message here. Though it does make sense why it's, and say it with me, (Coitus) there and in plentiful form at times; when you're taking into account their circumstances and why they're in the predicaments they are in. It is simply human nature and part of the human condition where men and women are concerned. When something this natural has been purposely repressed for so long and in their cases, for generations, what do you think is gonna happen when these beings are finally thrown together? 🤔🤔🤔

What I enjoyed the most though are the parallels here.. How it shows the hypocrisy in the societal structures we see in everyday RL, when it comes to human nature and the human condition. The oppressive nature of men/women in power. The deceptions and the secrets. The prejudice that comes when we encounter things, or people that we do not understand. The ignorance that follows these assumptions as well, due to being taught the wrong things about one another.

The nature and the nurture. The push and the pull, and what ultimately happens when you try to suppress free will, free thinking, and a person's right to simple choose how they want or wish to live.. When man tries to play God in the things that they should not even be attempting to dance in.. And how this lust for power for things that do not belong to us, can twist the truth and ultimately destroy us..

That's the hidden message that I see here and that's the point of the story. So I wound up enjoying this story very much.

Lizzy B is very clever in her truth here, and in how she is maneuvering it in this story.. I see this in many things that she writes. How she puts our RL truths in our faces on the pages of her stories. She does it in a way that is entertaining yes, but if you're paying attention you're getting the message loud and clear of what she is actually saying to you.. Which is why she is the Queen Bee of Sci-fi and paranormal stories IMO.

Would I recommend? = YES

I take my hat off to Lizzy Bequin

It's not just anyone that can write 648 pages of 70% smut and 30% plot. In a way, that feat is more impressive than the actual book.

Ahhhh yes 🙂‍↕️ 🙂‍↕️ 🙂‍↕️, the smut book that has like 1% plot. And the plot literally only happened on the last part of the book so — immediate one star, nothing happened in the entire thing other than Queen Lirili Larila being one of the most oblivious innocent woman in the world being exposed to the dark manipulative and very toxic behavior of Mr. Typical Alpha Male (the entire thing almost feels like hypnosis, just Mr. Typical Alpha Male calling Queen Lirili Larila the most derogatory terms and names in existence) and of course just her accepting all of it naively because.....i mean do you really expect logic to apply in here?¿?¿¿¿¿?????

I admit that the first part of the book is pretty funny, literally laughed when the two of them first met because of how obsecure their first impressions are to each other but after that it's just 😐😐😐😐😐😐😐. The abundant amount of sex scenes fill the meaningless void which is this book.

And oh that ending part was a rushed attempt to a plot twist. Like what plot are we even twisting? There's none of it anywhere in sight.

(Sry but probably not sry cuz reading is subjective @~*~Princess Nya Vasiliev~*~ for the buddy read, i really just can't like this book)

Deplorable . . .

Commander Ultor of Tharsis and Cytherean Queen Lirilith had sizzling chemistry flare between them from the very first time they saw each other. I can only imagine the shock for this planet of women who are seeing men for the first time. There is a ton of action going on in not only the initial confrontation, but the continuation of situations as they mingle.

But when the spanking and beatings begin, I stop reading. This is not for me. The women’s shaming and disgust at their own body parts just adds to my revulsion and appalls me that with all the attention to body image today we then have a book like this that lots of people seemed to applaud. I can’t figure that attitude out.

I was Glued to it from start to end, it was very hard to put down, I loved how Lirilith was they way she was , how she was sort of shy with being the Queen and how over time she grew and became so much stronger, I loved the pace of the world building and how the further I the more I found out , i loved all the crazy twists and turns further into the book Ultor ...

This is the second full-length book by Lizzy Bequin I've read and the second book with amazing world-building and an interesting plot.

The premise behind the book immediately drew me in. The separation of men and women into two planets is a rather binary view of gender, but I did find it interesting to see how Bequin crafted these two planets and their conception of gender as they developed in the absence of the other. I also enjoyed the palace intrigue parts of the book.

The romance is great, with lots of steam and character growth between Ulthor and Lirilith. I loved how Bequin considered not only their romance as an isolated couple, but how that romance impacts the people around them and how it fits into the larger world of the story.

This is a long-ish read of about 150,000 words. I found that the pace really varied in the book. Some parts felt slow and while others felt much faster. I personally liked this, but if you're looking for a novel that's all-slow or all-fast, that's something to keep in mind.

Also, this is a dark romance with breeding. Examples of things in the book I noticed that I think others might want to skip include:

Lizzy created an interesting premise with this story, and I loved it this time as much as the first time I read it.
There is one planet here that's inhabited by men only, and another occupied by women only. Apparently at some point in the distant past, the two sexes were separated completely from each other and the newest generations have never even seen a real man or a real woman in the flesh.
A King rules the men, a Queen rules the women. Somehow, each planet has had a special way of keeping each race going through artificial means, i.e. the women produce only females (and only a certain few women are allowed to be child-bearers), and the men's "machines" only produce male babies.
So.......imagine how much 💩 hits the proverbial fan when spaceships full of men arrive in the females' airspace one day, with the intention of invading their planet and taking 10,000 women home with them for the sole purpose of having their children because their "machines" for producing babies have broken down?
It's a fairly long book, because there's a lot of things to explain and a lot of moving parts. It might take you a minute to completely be immersed, but once you hit that sweet spot, hopefully you'll be as invested and as interested in the tale as I was. Expect to be hit with some OMG, LOL moments in this book as well.🤭😂

Also, just know I'm a little in love with Ultor, the High Commander of Tharsis😉🤭🥵

Ultor and his little Queen

This book was an amazing ride! I loved how strong Lirilith became under the thumb of Ultor.

When the mythical creatures known as man land on the woman only planet, only liri can save her country.
Ultor Is attracted to Liri at first , and he wishes to conquer the little Queen.

I highly recommend this book If you're looking for something a little different. Loved it!

Planet of men + Planet of women = High heat! A planet of nothing but men and a planet of nothing but women - there's going to be high heat when man meets woman. Lirilith is the queen of the planet Cytherea, a peaceful planet with no males until the day Ultor, a commander from of Tharsis, arrives demanding females to take back to his king and planet. Ultor is a strong Alpha male who will stop at nothing to get what he wants, Lirilith, in his bed and under him. The characters are amazingly intense and go from simple sexual attraction to much more in this action, adventure, romance, erotica - this story has it all! Be prepared for spanking, belt whipping, oral, anal, and more in the very spicy scenes that are peppered throughout the story and only get hotter the deeper you go. HEA, no cliffhanger in this standalone. So very well done!

I thought this was a really creative world. Not only with the overall premise of the completely insulated worlds (to the point that neither one has references for the other gender other than "it"). But also the way the class structure and moral or philosophical framework have developed for each planet/gender. And I liked how the cultural differences seemed to affect other things like technology, architecture and food.

I thought Lirilith and Ultor were interesting characters. There first few interactions are pretty entertaining. I was a bit iffy about a few details surrounding their first intimate encounter, but I often find my boundaries challenged by Bequin and wouldn't expect anything less. There was a lot happening and I vacillated wildly between liking each of them and finding them exasperating/annoying. But I really enjoyed their relationship and character growth and how it affected the other characters.

Overall, I think this book is well written and very entertaining with a lot to root for. This was a long one and I stayed up all night reading it because it was such a fun adventure. And I think the world and Lirilith and Ultor will be sticking in my head for quite a while.

So, first things first. Prepare yourself as this is not a short book and yet I still found it to be a quick read. Possibly because I was so engrossed I did not notice the passing the time. Still at around 600+ pages if you want a little lunch break read this is not it! That said please don't let the length of it put you off as it is truly a great read.
Lirilith has been pretty much trampled over for the first 17 years of her life until she suddenly became queen. Not something she was expecting at all since she was effectively the spare and a total inconvenience to everyone it seems. Since she was too young to rule when she came to the throne she was then manipulated and bullied by the papesse. Do not however mistake these facts for believing she is a weak woman, far from it. She has learned to school her features, absorb the knocks and survive. I was say put it down to her youth but now she is growing and there is a threat to her people. If nothing else will move her to stand up for herself, the very real threat camped outside the city walls will do it.
Ultor has been sent on a mission that he doesn't really quite understand. That aside he is completely loyal to his king and so he will carry out his task, as appointed and will not deviate from the path. Well that may have been the case before but that is definitely not what is happening this time round. His focus is in tatters. He has never been able to put himself in the shoes of the enemy and has probably been very callous about the lives of those he fought against. No so this enemy. The little queen with the hair of fire who has made him think, made him make bargains and who has made him feel. All these new emotions that he has never felt before and doesn't know how to handle.
What neither of them realise as that they are two halves of one whole but there is a long way to go before that realisation dawns on them.
I just fell into this book. The cultures that were created and the symbolism that went with it were fanstastic. Amazing world building. There is so much in here but you never get lost in the plot twists or bogged down by descriptions.

Let me start that if you have never read anything by L. Bequin, I just want to prepare you that the following reactions may (and mostly likely will) occur due the course of reading her stories: laughter, squirming, fanning yourself, and thinking "where does she come up with this stuff?"

Starting off a story on a world of nothing but women, that dress in shades of white, shunning all forms of pleasure, and practically worshipping purity has to be either the beginning of a dirty joke or a good raunchy read. In this case, it's the latter. Come on it's Lizzy Girl, she would never leave the story in such a sad state. I mean the woman called their VJs "the Place of Shame" and those that where inseminated artificially to care the next generation of female children are forced to wear red to "bear their shame for all", though they are chosen as children to become Childbearers. It is all a twisted way for the Sisterhood to hold power over the population of woman.

Thank goodness this book includes planetary invasion by, you guessed it . . . MEN. Yes ladies, that's right this female-only planet basically has men raining down from the Heavens and breaking their little closed minds. The Sisterhood may have tried to paint "men" as mythical, hairy, dumb beasts (let's face it - some are) to scare them, but nothing can stop the force that exists between men and women when the two sexes see each other for the first time. Even over millenia apart, that drive and burning instinct flares between them both and soon nothing, not even stupid science can stop what has started - a s3xual awakening that shake the stars. This is a full length novel and boy oh boy was it a delight to read. While it not a fast paced book, its a slow burn story but it is really worth it.
There is an old myth that there was an place called Urth where men and women coupled together, well that is what Queen Lirilith has heard. Its only because men from a place called Mars have invaded there planet named Cytherean. But they cant get through the force field. Cytherean is a planet for women only. And not very women know about men and their bodies, till the men come and their commander Ultor gives them a taste of what a man does. Some women near faint and others dream of what they want. But as Lirilith is queen she takes matters into her own hands weather others want her to or not.
Commander Ultor has come to get women to breed for his men. His baby making machine at home is broken and he has heard that women can make babies as well, so when he mets Lirilith he knows he is going to make babies in her as soon as he can!!!

This delightful story really has its funny points and often when i was reading the story i laughed out loud,
Every book of Lizzys is so good whether its dark hot, or has one or mulitiple men it in.
But this book even though it has only one man, the other characters also stand out wheather they are good or bad, and this is what makes this book so good. Its a testament to how good the author is and in my opinion Lizzy is a standout author along with the others up their in their fields.

A great five stars , i wish i could of given more.. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Two separate worlds - one inhabited solely by women and the other solely by men. When those two worlds meet head-on there is bound to be confusion - on both sides. Also wonder, emotion, tenderness and a rawness from the men. Men who have been mechanically created and have never known love and emotion. Men who have been created to fight. Men who are hard as nails. Then they discover women - soft, feminine - but also as totally confused as they have never experienced love either. There are a small segment who are predominantly child-bearers - the rest of the women have been told only child-bearers can have children. We find out later that the seed is provided by the men's planet and artificially inseminated into the child-bearers. This women's planet is also color coded. White for the queen, off white for her immediate helpers, red for child-bearers and black for the priestess and her cronies.
So when the women meet the men - all sorts of interesting things start happening and you have to get the book to find out what.
Lizzy has touched on a couple of areas she hasn't been into before and does it beautifully. The book is long - the second long one she has written but it is worth reading every word on every page. I have all of Lizzy Bequin's books and as each one is released she blows my mind every time. She has never failed to amaze me. The beauty is - I know she will do it with her next book as well

4.5 stars - Great story for a Netflix series!

POV: dual, mostly
HUMOR: yes
F BOMBS: yes
STANDALONE: yes
NEW AUTHOR FOR ME: no
POSSIBLE TRIGGERS: spanking, m/m, fifth base, questionable consent, humiliation

CHARACTERS: Queen Lirilith (19) of planet Cytherea and High Commander Ultor of planet Tharsis

OVERALL: Very creative story - Excellent imagination & world-building!

PROS:
1. As usual, excellent imagination and world-building, including creative cursing.
2. Some hilarious parts including when they asked for proof that the aliens were really men.
3. Really creative story and enjoyed reading it.
4. Had action, romance, honor, comedy, suspense, betrayal, discovery, character growth, plenty of steamy scenes, and an HEA epilogue.

CONS:
1. For some reason, I didn't feel the chemistry between the two MCs.
2. These mentioned: urine, and blood.
3. Ultor was gentle and tender, and a dirty-talking master alpha male, but something was just missing for me.

NOTEWORTHY:
1. Over 650 pages.
2. LOL Shout out to Leonardo Davinci.
3. Love the author's description of dusk: "After another minute, that glow faded too, and one by one the stars came out like timid creatures peering from their hiding places."

I always enjoy Lizzy's writing and rating this book in terms of storytelling and action, it gets top marks so that is what I am basing it on. Interesting plot, lots of heat, steamy scenes and good pacing.

But for the hero, Ulthor - I wanted to hit him with a few frying pans. For much of the book I despised him with the heat of a thousand suns. I don't think I have every disliked one of Lizzy's heroes before this dude. He did redeem himself a little with Queen Liri by the end but even so, the heat of my displeasure only cooled to the point where I only found him irritating at the finish line (and I'd stop at throwing one frying pan at him).

There are some very sweet signature Lizzy moments - touching and funny but they were between Liri and secondary characters. Still, that makes this a fun book to read and I recommend it, especially if you want to fantasize about smacking the hero around.

From the first page, Ms. Bequin ensnares the reader’s attention through her character interactions, her imagery, the use of humour and her ability to create sexual tension between her main characters. Throughout this 15k+ story of Invaded, I found myself cringing, cheering, laughing, being angry, shedding a tear or two and lots of blushing and ‘face-fanning’ There are a few moments in the story where I found the plot slowing down to a snail’s pace because of the need for background information, but to Ms. Bequin’s credit, she still managed to keep my attention; I didn't feel like pulling my hair out and/or skipping ahead to the 'good stuff.' Now, you should know that although I am biased towards Ms. Bequin’s works (I have her entire collection, either having purchased and/or received free copies of her books through Booksprout - like this one), I have never held back in a review, always giving my honest thoughts and opinions about one of her books. Invaded is a must-read!

Lirilith, the female lead, has been raised to be the spare heir on a planet full of females. Due to a tragedy, she has inherited the throne but she’s not a confident leader due to a lack of training and preparation. When Ultor, the male lead, arrives with his army to take some women back to his male only planet (because their mechanical wombs have failed), they are thrust together. He is crass and aggressive; she is calmer and determined to aim for a peaceful outcome.

This extra long story is dual POV, well written and edited, and a genuinely interesting lead. And I hated Ultor for most of the story. He just irritated me. A lot. Lirilith was interesting and the development of both characters was well written as was the relationship development. The sex scenes were intense and creative but I still didn’t like Ultor at the end.

This was a great story. The author created two worlds with complex societies rife with intrigue and injustice simmering just under the surface. The chemistry between the two main characters, Ultor and Lirilith, sizzled from the moment of their first encounter. The supporting characters were also well developed and interesting. The road to that happy ending was riddled with palace intrigue, betrayal, some broken dreams, and so many imaginative steamy scenes.

There was so much going on in this very long, 650 plus page, story. I enjoyed every page of it and was sad to see it end. Highly recommend.

I thoroughly enjoyed this novel. I've read a lot of Lizzy Bequin, and this is one of my favorites. It's a really great story with women and men not knowing the existence of the other. It's very involved with developed characters and an interesting world. My only real complaint is the end. I felt like it was too easy. The bad guy was taken out in a couple paragraphs. It's a really enticing story and I couldn't wait to read the next part. I lost sleep reading it. I just wish the final battle turned out differently. I felt really let down at the end. However, I'm also an action lover so while I wanted more action it wasn't something that has to be done.. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is quite an interesting story and creatively done. I am quite enjoying the "naivety" of our MCs, it reminds of the curiosity we had when we first learned of the differences between the two genders but adult version.

It's an enjoyable read. Among the books I've read from this author, this has become my favorite and also the longest read. Make sure you have ample time to read this. It would be hard to put it down. . I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Epic and Moving

This story is not just the story of men invading the world of women and conquering, it’s about how one Queen and one commander changed as individuals, then changed their respective societies and united two worlds. Oh, and they fell in love too. I loved how sweeping yet intricate this story was - it would have been easy to be superficial, but the background plots, plus the relationship angst, plus all the spice, make for a so much richer story. Epic in its length but perfect in its pacing, this story hits all the high notes - what a great book.

Steamy and fun!

I really enjoy this authors books and was happy to see them take on this trope.

What I liked!
I really liked Lirilith. She was young and naive, but open to learning and craved change. She seemed very tender hearted and truly wanted what was best for everyone. She gives off Disney Princess vibes for sure but I'm not mad at it.

Prezmira was that fun cousin that you are always excited to see at the function. She is headstrong, mischievous and loyal to Lirilith.

They share some nice bonding scenes together outside of the bedroom, and you get to know the world around them and the characters through their eyes.
I really enjoyed the world(s) building here and I genuinely would love to revisit it in the future. The world of Cytherea was fascinating and its interesting how in this world of women there's so much misogyny lol 😆
Women can't enjoy anything. Not even when they're in charge of their own planet it seems.
In contrast Tharsis was not elaborated on much outside of a few ideas that were relevant to the FMC. But I still did enjoy the military-esque, war state the men came from.

What I didn't like 😔
Ultor seemed like an afterthought even in his own POV. He exemplified the traits of a Lizzy B. MMC. Ultra dominant, borderline obsessed, and hormone driven. That's fine except we don't really get to see much more of his personality. I felt that he could have been fleshed out a bit more with more scenes of him interacting with men, and women other than Lirilith, being friendly, helpful, showing that gradual change between conquering warlord to patient and thoughtful leader.

You do not get to know many of the men outside of three characters. I felt the mens army could have been fleshed out more as well.

Basic s€x. Hear me out. Compared to what I know this author is capable of it feels like this book was far more time than I am used to from this author. I did not dislike them, I just wanted more. Idk maybe I'm just a p€rv€rt.

Overall I really enjoyed this book and would love to revisit this world with new characters or previously introduced ones.

Wow this was such an amazing story. Great world building. Very rich and well developed world (well, worlds, as one is made of only men, and the other only women). I liked that concept, and then the two genders coming together. You just know there's going to be heat and attraction there! I loved the characters. Lirilith and Ultor have such fantastic chemistry. This story was such an adventure. And at over 650 pages, it's nice and long to keep you going a long time. Very well written and well paced. Another excellent story from this author. I recommend picking this one up. 5 stars.
