Inversion 1 - Looking Through Mirrors

Rate this book
This action/adventure is a sweeping and inspirational saga about a courageous woman who leads an audacious endeavor to create the most advanced society in history with the help of a mystic philanthropist and a sentient AI.

The beginning and end of this saga, which includes Inversion 2 – Continuum, and Inversion 3-Beyond the Horizon, closes the circle of the life of the protagonist. In between is a remarkable journey into and out of the harsh underworld of human trafficking, and the international politics surrounding the creation of a new nation. Science fiction fans will love the AI entity which has a sparkling personality and a deceptively understated roll in the destiny of the characters, and the planet.

Audiobooks are now available for Inversion books 1, 2, and 3.

I won this book in a goodreads drawing.

A woman wakes up in a French hospital with amnesia. As she tries to recover her memories, she can't quite tell what is real and what is imaginary. Meanwhile, the police wish to interrogate her, and others seem to be hunting her.

Tense.

First line: I awoke into a nightmare, gasping a desperate first breath as an infant might.

After waking in a foreign hospital with no idea of what's happened, and no memories of her life, our main character finds herself diagnosed with amnesia. Due to the gruesome nature of how she was discovered.. there's quite a bit of mystery, and plenty of suspicion, involving this strange woman with no past.
It's not long before she begins moving forward, surrounded by strangers who call her 'Angela', a name the nurses have given her, though she continues to be perplexed by the unfamiliar face in the mirror.

The writing is good, intelligent, and fluid. Not a fast-paced, suspense filled ride. I'm intrigued by what's going on with Angela, so much of her story is only hinted at through dreams and subtle nudges, her character inspiring curiosity. It was almost as though the entire thing is an experiment with Angela as the subject.

This was a pretty good book, a little slow at times, and it raises a lot of questions as you go..
I would recommend this if you like questionable, unreliable, and untrustworthy characters (and I do).

The Inversion trilogy is told in the first person. As such, we discover the world with and alongside the protagonist. And like the protagonist, we are quickly introduced to psychological and physical occurrences that don’t quite add up. This is psychological mystery part. The other part show us an incredibly strong yet vulnerable character who will not give up on herself even when her world gets very, very, and oh yes, very dark.

There are many stories where the lead character must endure some torment to come out the other side a changed, stronger, and wiser person. Inversion 1 has this in spades, and the person that comes out on the other side is not anyone you’d expect. Gather up your courage and walk side-by-side with this amazing woman to the glorious and well fought for conclusion of this book. Her story is only getting started. Inversion 2 amps up the adventure a few more levels.

Thank you to author Micheal Krozer for this FREE Kindle copy of Inversion 1 - Looking Through Mirrors. And thanks to Goodreads for hosting the opportunity.

I liked this one. Simple but captivating and engaging for the most part - I thought a little "over-the-top" with the caging in the freighter scenery. But, overall a good story, visuals and characters that ends where the next book in the series will begin. Although sporadic, there were too many editing issues, which pulls off one star.

I was drawn into the story immediately with the very intriguing settings and a plot that moves at a good pace. The voiced reading was immersive and added a new dimension, similar to ‘listening’ to a film, eyes closed. I can’t wait for the second bk

This psy/mystery starts off with a pop, levels out and then builds to a massive explosion. I felt for the main character and her heartfelt journey towards recreating herself into a new image. We are all evolving and growing and I wonder at what point in believing who you want be becomes who you are. For example, my passion was to be this kind of person and now I am. How wonderful it must feel to achieve that realization. In this story, that’s merely a step along a path that snakes through some terrifying territory. The notes say this is book one in a trilogy. I’ll be looking for the next one.
