I love this book!
I’ve read many self-improvement books in the past as I have always tried to do better in my personal and professional life. I couldn’t finish any of them. This stands out because it provides concrete and effective tools to pursue better habits and achieve goals, alongside detailed knowledge of how our brain works.
Other books I’ve tried in the past are only common sense stuff, whereas this is practical but groundbreaking. The style is accessible and yet informative. I love the illustrations and questionnaires included. My favourite tool is the TEA plan, a simple but effective way of daily setting and achieve one goal.

I've followed Jon's work for many years and have found it easy to incorporate the helpful suggestions in this book into my daily routines to help create better habits. Based on the latest scientific developments and insights, this book is the culmination of a lifetime of Dr Finn's work and breaks down cutting edge science into easily digestible and understandable chunks. Filled with practical suggestions and backed up by a bunch of online resources including free downloads and an app, I find myself referring to The Habit Mechanic again and again to tackle the problems that 21st century life continues to throw at what is essentially still a caveman's brain.

The Habit Mechanic is a transformative book reminds us just how simple habits can become a lifetime of not only my, but other’s reality!

A lot of us talk about starting new habits but never make that first step. This book reminds us that, though beginning is the hardest part; each day it gets easier until it becomes a habit.

One way I am forming habits is, to start small and have attainable goals that I can reach within a few days or week. As I achieve those, I identify longer ones. Short range goals are still goals and each can add up to long range goals.

This book reminds us of small goals and larger ones that we can begin immediately! No goals are too small!

And the feeling felt when goals are achieved! Remarkable, Exhilarating, Enlightening, and several pats on your own back!

A great and must read!

Forming habits are hard and easy at the same time. This book goes over facts most people already know to make habits stick. In doing this it give you a break down of doing things slow one piece at a time to make better choices and re-work your brain. Again while the information i feel is common knowledge its in interesting read on a new perspective of how define habits good and bad, how to create habits, and how to live your best life on small baby step at a time.
