Poetry, quotes, and philosophy... “I exist somewhere in between yesterday’s sun and tonight’s darkness, standing on the edge of tomorrow, waiting for a shooting star.” “From the wounded soul, comes poetry and music. In return, music and poetry heals the soul.”
Danielle Ever Rose is an American poet and author best known for her poetry books, “12:12 Midnight” and “Under the Scattered Sun.” She grew up in Tampa Florida spending most of her childhood and teen-years training for tennis, competing in the USTA tournaments. In her early 20s her professional tennis career was cut short due to an illness slowly developing over the years caused by an unfortunate event that happened when she was ten years old. As a child, Danielle was bitten by a Copperhead venomous snake coming close to losing her right arm and nearly dying because the first dose of antivenom didn’t take. She did eventually recover and returned back to the game of tennis but not without its challenges, working through arthritis causing joint pain, and retraining/strengthening her grip. After working through the pain for many years, Danielle decided to close the door on that part of her life and return to something she was always interested in as a teen, creative writing and poetry... I’ve fallen in love with this poetry collection. Some of the poems are a little dark, and many were very beautiful and uplifting. Here’s a quote from the book that I thought was heartbreakingly beautiful and I could really relate to. “I was stuck in a world where Heaven and Hell collided. A place where angels come to cry... A place called earth.”
I’ve been reading a lot of modern day poetry lately, and I have been enjoying some of it, but sadly the books all seem very similar, I felt like I was reading the same book over and over. Then I came across this one and thought I should give it a try because it sounded original and unique just from the few pieces I read on Instagram. I’m so happy I did, I finally felt like I was reading something new and completely different from the rest. It had short poems, longer pieces and very poetic and interesting quotes. It was like reading a wild and beautiful dream.
I love so many poems in this collection it’s hard for me to choose a favorite... but I will say the one about River Phoenix is in my top five. A great read and definitely worth a read.
I loved it... The style of poetry has an otherworldly feel to it, then at times it’s very beautiful and down to earth. A must-read for anyone that’s a lover of poetic writings.
Love this collection 💕 “Past Life Heartbreak” My past life is my heartbreak Remembering you my own mistake Wondering where you have gone Wandering this world for so long.
I wait on the other side of night Just to catch a glimpse of you You stand in the dim glow of the moon Iridescent light shining through.
A brief quiet sleep before I disappear into the rays of the sun Breaking away from the illusion Taking me away from it all.
I would be alone for the rest of forever If only a piece of time could be mine To share with you my only love.
Beautifully strange with a touch of dark humor. A nice addition to my collection of poetry books. I’m always on the lookout for something new in the world of poetry. I found 12:12 Midnight to be uniquely creative with a great variety of quotes and poems.
I borrowed this book from my friend last month, and I thought it was brilliant, interesting, and beautiful. She’s been asking for it back so I just ordered a copy for myself. I can’t wait to re-read some of my favorite poems and try to decipher some of the more unique ones.
Poetry was my first love, and although I can't recall where I saw this book recommended, I'm so glad I read it. The words are so deep and eloquent. There's this beautiful darkness. I soaked in every poem and would highly recommend this read to anyone that shares my love of poetry.
