This book was so good. Definitely one of the best I’ve read on Wattpad. The writing was really good and it was so easy to read.
I loved both of the characters. Vincent who is the Don, seemed like kind of a jerk at first but you warm up to him very quickly. Ezra doesn’t seem like she has much personality at first but after the first few characters they both just blossomed so much. I will say I hate the name Ezra for a girl though. I absolutely love guy names for girls but Ezra just isn’t one of them. BUT I did love her so much, she was such a great heroine!!
This book is supposed to be considered a Mafia book but I would definitely say it’s mafia light. There’s not much going on that has to do with mafia it’s really just about the two main characters. There is a villain as always but it’s still just only a little mafia based.
Vincent wants Ezra from the moment he sees her. He’s not keen on getting married and has to choose someone from one of the families but when he goes around to each of the houses for dinner he has no intention of picking a wife until he sees Ezra who was hidden away in the library.
These two definitely fall for each other quickly but I didn’t mind. Vincent is sooo whipped omg I loved how Ezra just became his everything. He was super possessive as well. I also really loved how well they communicated. There was literally no miscommunication at all in this book, these two talked about everything. It was so refreshing since miscommunication always ruins a book for me.
While Ezra is a virgin, Vincent is not which is basically to be expected in these books. He doesn’t like anyone touching him, not even handshakes. We go through basically the whole book without any mention of his sexual past. He doesn’t seem like a manwhore, he never even thinks about anything from the past. UNTIL almost at the end one of his friends mentions how it’s crazy how he doesn’t like touch and yet managed to screw so many women in college. This rubbed me the wrong way so bad. We go through the book thinking this man is a monk because he hates touch to finding out near the end that that wasn’t the case. Idk why this bothered me so much but it did. And the guy said it to Ezra, Vincent’s wife, of all people!!! I kind of was ready to finish the book after that. Though Vincent was not happy about that comment at all.
I am confused though as to why Ezra, who is the dons wife, has absolutely no personal security. She needs like multiple body guards. That’s one of the things that didn’t make sense to me.
Also there are a lot of sex scenes in this book. I could have taken more plot scenes and left a few of the sex ones even though they were all very well written. This does have some daddy kink but no age play which I was thankful for. I will definitely read more by the author.
NO CHEATING (Vincent mentioned multiple times that this is something he would never do! Even before they fell in love) SOME OW DRAMA (but Vincent shuts it down brutally) SOME OM DRAMA (both Vincent and Ezra shut this down brutally) NO THIRD ACT BREAK UP MURDER
This may be a wattpad book but it’s very amazing. Don’t get distracted about the cover, on wattpad there’s an other one. A beter one. What I really like about wattpad is that it’s not shocking that I read three books in one sitting. You just go through them so easily. Vincent was as splendid as Ezra. The name too, Ezra, perfect name. Watch out for the slightly weird kink, which wasn’t a disturbance for me personally.
