‘“Don’t you deserve to have a man in your life who will pay attention to you? I think it’s the very least you deserve. You’re worth the effort. A man should be willing to go to hell and back for you, Violet. He never deserved you.”’

“And you do?” A nervous laugh escaped, and somehow, I knew the more I questioned him, the more his answers would draw me in.

“Come over tonight and find out. My door is always open to you.” The statement felt like a dare and I wanted to take it almost as much as I knew that I shouldn’t.”’

Jake uses a terrific line in this book, he described his and Violet’s love story as the ‘fastest slow-burn’, which is just an utterly delicious way to describe this wonderful, feel-good, ‘I’ve loved you from afar’, sweepingly romantic addition, to an already sterling Sweetbriar series. Add in a smidge of angst and drama and a few characters you’re going to love to hate and you have a recipe for a truly mesmerising sweet and scintillating small-town love story, something author Nora Everly accomplishes beautifully with her signature style and flair.

Violet is a woman who has been used to coming in last to everything. She puts the needs of her boys, her business and her family ahead of her own, never complaining or showing when she gets hurt and trampled on. And for too long she has let the father of her boys treat her like she is less than, so to see her come into her own, exuding confidence and strength through those storms, you can’t help but smile and cheer her on. That huge heart and innate kindness is just a part of who she is. That is Nora’s gift to us. She writes and fleshes out these fantastic characters, to the point where we’re truly invested, we’re connected and involved in every facet.

As readers, we get this amazing opportunity to witness the tantalising sensual slow dance Violet and Jake do, to see how Jake enlightens, supports, cherishes and loves her, without being overly arrogant or aggressive in his stance. He nudges with sweet endearments, flirtatious grins and being her lodestone in a chaotic time. He shows her how a woman should be treated. How it feels to lean on someone and know they’ll be there because he’s been such a massive part of her life for so long, hiding those remarkably complex feelings he has always had towards her. A mature man, sexy, rugged, smouldering, drinks whisky by firelight and has no compunction about gifting orgasms - he’s pretty damn perfect on the hero scale. Together Jake and Violet offer up so much, best friends to lovers, a little bit of unrequited love and a whole lot of burning up the page once that love is realised.

Add in two amazing teenage boys, (Nora really captured them well, the anger and confusion within them, but also the fun and cheeky side. I wouldn’t be opposed to a spin-off series ;) ), a dose of small-town drama, unrelenting gossip-mongers and a strong and supportive family, and you have yourself another superb love story from the Sweetbriar series.

4.5 swoony stars! I’ve been excited for Violet’s story for what seems like forever and I was not disappointed. Violet catches her douche canoe of a husband cheating on her and although it’s painful for her, she should have left him years ago. Jake is a friend of Violet and her ex’s but he makes it immediately known that he 100% supports Violet and wants to be there for her. He confesses his years long love for her and things move quickly, but secretly, between them. Their chemistry is blazing hot y’all!

One of the things I love about this story is the outpouring of love and support from family and friends when Violet needs them most. Violet is is mom mode 24/7 and doesn’t take help easily but she finally concedes that she needs help to make it through this upheaval in her life. I especially loved watching Violet grow into herself through this story, to the point where she can finally stand up to her slimey ex. I also loved watching her interact with and navigate the divorce with her teenage twin sons. Nora Everly is the queen of sweet and sexy romance and she nailed it once again! I love and recommend this book and series!

Do you love unrequited love? How about pining? How about HERO pining? (Trick question as there is *nothing* better than a hero pining!) Add in a brave and strong heroine and small town shenanigans and this is the romance for you!

Another sweet and swoony small town romance by author Nora Everly.

Like many readers of her Sweetbriar series, I’ve been aching for Jake and Violet’s story and it did not disappoint. Nora writes absolutely delicious romance novel heroes... you know the ones who make all real life men seem inadequate? Yep, those! And Jake is a hero among men.

Violet is just as strong and amazing as she has seemed in the previous novels, and I was so happy for her to finally have the type of man she deserved. She is a hard worker and a fantastic mom, and watching her navigate through all the transitions in her life was inspiring.

While this is a surprise pregnancy romance- as someone extremely sensitive to surprise pregnancy stories- I didn’t find this aspect to be overwhelming or uncomfortable at all (I sought the author out and she lovingly provided all the details to make sure it wouldn’t be triggering and was absolutely lovely.) The pregnancy aspect flowed and didn’t detract from the rest of the story. It was a beautiful friends to lovers romance and I look forward to what comes next in Sweetbriar!

This book made my heart happy. A meddlesome mama, siblings, children, and friends threaten to steal the show in this small town, friends-to-lovers romance that is full of love and heart.

The beginning of the story is a bit angsty, as can be expected when a story starts with a marriage falling apart due to the actions of a cheating jerk of a husband. Readers experience Violet's heartbreak, but they also get to experience a bit of "The Year of Violet," as she reclaims her life and realizes she's in love with one of her best friends. Jake is premium-quality book boyfriend material.

I almost shied away from reading this book because I have some difficulty with surprise pregnancy stories. However, while the unplanned pregnancy was an important plot point, it didn’t pull me out of the story or seem like the only reason Jake and Violet were together. From the Heart is really more of a friends-to-lovers story with a surprise pregnancy than it was a surprise pregnancy romance.

This was so promising: Jake saw Violet first from a distance in college but before he could make his move, his childhood best friend swooped in and he was doomed to pine for his best friend's wife for the next 16 years, watching while said friend turned into an emotional abusive, cheating husband and neglectful father. But there's hope when Violet arrives home one day to change only to find said awful husband with his much younger secretary in their bedroom, asking if she'd gotten his email telling her he wanted a divorce(!!!!!!!)
Anyway - there's a fantastically funny scene early on where Violet's 5 of Violet's 7 siblings and their assorted SOs descend to help her and her twin boys out of the house, but not without taking petty revenge on the asshole soon-to-be-ex by removing all the batteries from the remotes, short-sheeting the bed, re-programming the thermostat, and messing with all the smart gadgets in the house.
Violet is a loving and devoted mother to her twin boys who know what's up with their father and see right through his attempts to buy them to serve his own purposes. The whole subplot with the ex, MF Tom's not-so-secret plan to buy up properties was dumb and slut-shaming his mistress was trite and superficial.

2.5⭐️. There’s nothing objectionable about this book and there are definitely some likeable characters. But it just felt amateurish to me. Violet’s non stop internal and external monologue that she should have left sooner was grating. Jake was seriously too good to be true. And the entire romance moved too fast.

This is the first book I've read from the Sweetbriar series, and it can be read as a standalone, though I feel like the experience will improve having read the rest of the previous books (which I'm going to do asap).

From the heart is the story about a woman ignored by her husband, treated as a less-than-him-being, taken for granted and whose dreams have been shattered over and over again. Until she finds him cheating on her and decides that it's enough. With the support of her teenager sons, her family and her good friend Jake (swoon), we follow her growing into an amazing woman who learns to speak and fight for herself, while she falls in love with her best friend, who has always been there for her, lamenting the day he allowed his then best friend approaching Violet first so many years ago, losing his chance of wooing her as she deserved. But he chose being a friend, loving her from afar, until he had his chance, and he used it like a pro. He loves Violet, he lets her grow, he cherishes her and he's always there for her in a sweet, calm and not overpowering way, supporting her from the side, and showing her how she deserves to be treated.

I'm not usually a fan of sweet sugary love stories, but this one is so perfect that I can't resist giving it 5 stars. Jake is one of the swooniest heroes ever, there is some angst, a nasty ex, some confused, angry and funny teenagers, a lot of meddling people, a cute cafe and lots of love.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to read the rest of the series.

Oh my gosh! The Sweetbriar Hearts series gets better with every book! Love, Love, Love this novel!
Nora Everly has created another fantastic love story! Her writing is original, emotional, romantic (if not sometimes steamy 😏), and always leaves the reader wanting more!
Plus, I personally love when a story follows the romance of supporting character(s) from previous book(s). Which “From the Heart” does!
(Side note: Nora Everly’s books, “In My Heart” and “Heart Words”, both have characters that connect to “From the Heart”, and where just as enjoyable to read as this book was! You should totally go check those books out too. You won’t regret it! 🥰)
In this book, Jake and Violet were so adorable together! They had such a deep, emotional, and romantic connection that every reader can feel immediately. Plus, I loved seeing Violet’s character and strength grow alongside her relationship with Jake as their story unfolded. ❤️❤️❤️ These two made it impossible to not fall in love with every page of this novel!
Can’t wait to read more Sweetbriar stories! I miss this world already. 😫
I have read all of Nora’s works and can confidently say that I loved every single one. She is one of my go-to authors and no matter what new book she comes out with, I automatically buy it! You cannot go wrong with one of her books and I HIGHLY recommend you get this story as well as any/all of her other titles too!
10 out of 10, five star rating! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Long story short, go read this book! 😊

This book is a must read for anyone that likes small town romance. This book is perfect for those that enjoy love from afar. This book is a great read for anyone that enjoys a great mom story. This a great book and series for readers that like following a big family as they all fall in love. This romance is for anyone who insists on a happily ever after. This a wonderful read for anyone that enjoys the romance genre.

I will confess I am completely invested in this series. I have been waiting since book one for Vi to kick Tom to the curb. With this being Vi's story I thought it would happen right away. Silly me. I should have known better. The author made me work for the extreme satisfaction I got from Tom's fall from grace. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I did. It was GLORIOUS!!!!

The author put me through so many emotions. At times I didn't know if I should laugh or cry, scream or stay silent, dance or stomp my feet. I can't think of a better way to spend an afternoon. The only thing that would have made it better was sitting in Vi's coffee shop while I read it. Pure Ecstasy.

Nora Everly mastered the slow burn with Jake and Vi. Will they make it? Will they crumble? Will they find their happily ever after? Will they have her family's support? How will the story end?? So many questions and the author took her time giving me all the answers. It was wonderful.

I enjoyed this book!

The only reason I'd leave off half a star if I could was because I didn't really like that Jake and Violet were having a sexual relationship while she was legally married to Tom. I understand that Tom blatantly cheated on her and belittled her for years so she had a right to go live her life, but sometimes it felt wrong even though she'd filed for divorce before she'd entered a sexual relationship. And I get that the conflict in the story was meant to revolve around her horrible ex-husband.

I personally would have rearranged the timeline of some things, but I still enjoyed the story.

I liked Violet since book 1 and enjoyed her ex-husband getting his comeuppance. I understood why she needed to take things slower with Jake even though he was ready to forge on ahead.

I liked Jake a lot too. He's the ideal romantic hero! I liked that the family already loved him, including Violet's 16 year old boys.

I really loved that Violet took back the power herself in the end. It was a good way to end it!

I'm excited for whenever the Barrett Brothers series comes out! I know I will enjoy spending a lot more time in Sweetbriar!

Full review to come at the LitBuzz.

Violet and Jake’s story is one of second chances, unrequited love, and enough heat and steam to give third degree burns.

Jake is the epitome of a good guy, and it’s no surprise that he would do anything for Violet and her boys when her marriage falls apart at the hands of her cheating husband.

The road to happily ever after is not easy and is paved in drama-filled altercations with her no-good ex, but luckily Violet has a family and a town that surrounds her with love and wants nothing but the best for her and Jake.

This romance moves at a quick clip and there’s no shortage of swoony moments, and girl power situations that will have you standing in ovation. Inquiring minds need to know: can anyone move to Sweetbriar or is it by invitation only?

Coming to the conclusion your heart wants another.

Realizing your partner and you have grown apart and you’re trying to hang on because you have children. Is it worth it, or is it over? Your friend since you were young is standing in the wings just waiting for you, but you’re really oblivious to it. He regrets not getting to you first all those years ago. You realize what you could have had and you go for it. Bad things happen to get in the way. Do you prevail? This story is a battle of the heart. Great work Nora Everly. You keep it interesting with every book in this series. Looking forward to the next.

From the Heart: A Friends to Lovers Surprise Pregnancy Romance.

I have been waiting for Violet’s story, she is the glue and the coffee of her family! This is a must read small town, slow, slow hot burn romance.
Jake, Violet and Tom met at university, Jake stood back for a moment and lost the love of his life. Tom and Violet married, but Violet was never the love of Tom’s life. Jake was always there, even when she went into labour, it was Jake that was with her twins were born.

Holiday Hearts it gave us a taste of what was to come for Violet, Jake and Tom. It was a tantalizing glimpse of the slow burn story that was coming. When Violet finds Tom and his mistress and her marriage ends, we start on the epic story of Jake and Violet.

This is the love story of a second chance romance that will warm your heart. This is book 3 of the Sweetbriar Hearts, it was nice to see familiar characters and am looking forward to the next installment. Nora Everly is new to me and I have enjoyed all her books, Smartypants Romance and the Sweetbriar Hearts series.

I’ll admit I had high hopes for this book. Violet’s story was one I’ve been waiting for for a while. What I didn’t expect, was for this book for exceed every expectation I had. This book was SO GOOD!! Jake is such a dreamboat!! The ultimate book boyfriend. I love when I can feel the chemistry ooze off the page and Nora Everly captured that chemistry with these two so well, it was effortless to fall in love with them as a couple. This book is a flawless small-town romance and will definitely be in the “must re-read as a pick me up” list from here on out. Highly recommend the entire Sweetbriar series, but this one now holds a special place in my heart. 💜

Y’all. I devoured this book yesterday in about 2 hours. I absolutely fell in love and felt such a strong connection to Violet. Watching her pick up the pieces of her life and come back stronger and better than before was wonderful to watch. And while I didn’t like that we have a connection to this secret sisterhood (read it to find out!), I loved every minute of her story. I loved getting to see how she & Jake handled their attraction through some trying times (seriously! Go read it! I don’t want to spoil anything.), & how they were stronger for it. This was an amazingly therapeutic & heartfelt read.

I don’t want to spoil anything about this book and I never seem to do a very good job reviewing books either. But I absolutely adored this book. I was so touched by how Nora wrote Violet and the characters experiences and feelings about what she was going through, it just brought the entire story to life for me. This is such a great series anyway, but I think this book is my favorite, I was cheering for Vi and for her to get a HEA the entire time. I just loved her as a strong female character. This book didn’t have any slow spots or parts I wanted to pass over, I enjoyed every minute.

"Real love is hard to find, but even harder to hide."

It's finally Violets turn to have real love in her life and a happy family. This is the slowest of slow burns, we're going to call this one an ember. I've despised her rich and absent husband Tom and his poor character through all the Sweetbriar Hearts novels. He is the poo-on-a-shoe that he showed himself to be and much more. Vi and her boys deserve so much more than a pile of Tom.

I love how the Barrett clan is all up each other's business in the best way possible. Every sibling has their own story but they always come together for each other. As an only child, a huge family sounds great to me. I want to be invited to Sunday dinner. The pranks and match making are delightful!

Now about that real true love of Vi's, Jake has been a wonderful friend over the years and great with the boys. When she's having the worst time ever he's there to support her in every way. The most swoony part is when a life long friend knows so many tiny details of your life because they've been there all along. That's a real foundation built on mutual friendship. I can't imagine it get any better.

This is my favorite in the series so far, there is someone to hate, someone to swoon over, kids to adore and someone to rally around. There's a bit of heat, a bit of intrigue and my HEA. Yay!

You don't have to read the others but go back and read the others, especially the wonderful Holiday book where we get to see Jake coming more into the picture and we start to really hate Tom. Violet is a a true supermom and puts up with wayyy too much for her horrible husband. Her loud in your face family is just amazing and love having some of them back- Rose!! to help her deal with her failing marriage. The twin boys are just perfect and love how Nora added them into the story. This is a long waited friends to lovers romance with a big giant hallelujah at the end!

I can't wait for more of this family! I just love Nora's world of Sweetbriar and can't get enough!

I love everything about Nora Everly’s new book “From the Heart.” I was hooked from the very beginning by Violet’s marriage problems, her concern for her teenage twin sons, and the close relationship she has with her good friend Jake. She handled all this while running her coffee shop which was a hotbed for town gossip. Violet was definitely a Superwoman who was doing it all, but what she really needed was a tall, dark and handsome hero to save her from unwanted aggravation. Jake was definitely the man for the job! He is one of the most thoughtful and romantic men I have ever encountered in a romance novel. He seems to appear out of nowhere whenever Violet needs to be rescued and always knows how to make her smile.

Jake is every woman’s dream man, the one you think of when you envision the perfect man who only exists in your mind. He would do anything for Violet and her sons Finn and Nick. He has loved her forever and regrets not asking her out when they were in college. He is her best friend, her savior and her knight in shining armor. Jake has a beautiful home in the woods and was just waiting for the time when Violet and her boys could make it their home, too. Even though her life is a mess right now, Violet knows that she can lean on Jake for comfort and support. Was Violet ready to commit herself to Jake or will she choose to try and make it on her own?

Another wonderful book by Nora Everly...I love this series.

Violet is not having a good day...her husband is a complete jerk and has just turned her life upside down. Her main focus and concern is her kids but she needs to get herself out of the house and find someplace to go.

Jake just heart some news about his best friend, who happens to be married to Violet, that has him steaming...he knows he has to tell Violet the news and rushes to her house. She’s a bit confused as to why Jake shows up and is so angry...she later finds out why.

Violet does her best to be strong for her kids, keep her coffee shop open and functioning while working as quickly as she can to get a divorce. Her friends and family are there for her and provide amazing support to her and her boys. Jake is her rock as she navigates through all the crud with her divorce.

These characters are amazing, loving, helpful and very supportive. I love the fact that Violet fights to become a very strong woman who will stop at nothing to find love and happiness for her and her boys.

I requested an arc and I am providing my honest review.

I love the Sweetbriar series and Violets book did not disappoint. Violets marriage collapses in the most dreadful way, trying to bring up her 2 twin sons with the support of her best friend Jake. I loved Jake, ideal book boyfriend and was in his corner all the way. This book has it all emotional, drama and the small town romance.
Wonderful read and cannot wait for the next book.

I received this ARC for an honest review. I really enjoyed this story. It’s about Violet, who is getting divorced, and Jake. Jake has loved Violet since college, but his friend (Tom) got to her first. After Violet walks in on Tom cheating, Jake helps Violet get through the pain. Violet starts seeing Jake differently. I won’t tell you more because you need to read this story.
It was a good read. I enjoyed this story and will definitely read another in this series. The series can be read as a stand alone.

Great!

Violet finally gets the love story that should have happened 20 years earlier! But Tom reached her before Jake did. Now, Tom is cheating with his 20 something secretary and divorcing Violet. Fantastic story with all of Violet’s family members getting involved! Love this family!
