But do they really hate each other, or is this something else? The closer they get to each other, the more Sloane overthinks everything. Will they make it and skate together at the Olympic Games?
In general, it was a quick read for me and I really enjoyed reading it. It’s easy to understand even if English isn’t your first language. Another thing that I like about this book is that it’s dual POV. However, this sometimes also frustrated me because you kind of know why Asher is the way he is, whereas Sloan doesn’t.
At the beginning, I didn’t really like Sloan and thought that she’s annoying. However, as the novel continues, she gets a huge character development and I actually started to like her. Asher is just such a sweet and good soul, that dealt with a lot throughout his life (of course he doesn’t deserve the things that happen to him).
I would recommend it to you, if you like sport romances, a slightly enemies to lovers story and if you’re looking for a quick and easy read.
This was such a lovely and easy read! The beginning was a bit "please get over with it" because I wasn't a fan of Sloane, but as you keep on reading and learn more about the characters, you end up falling in love and understanding the whole thing.
Asher is so lovely and I just want to hug him. He is such a great guy and didn't deserve anything bad that happened to him, especially all the things with his father.
The pace of the book is great, things move fast but not rushed, there are small moments that make the story so enjoyable and also relatable.
Thank you to the author for sending me an ARC for this book. You already had my whole reactions while reading this but I want to congratulate you for such a lovely book!
Love! Love! Love this book!!! I am a huge fan of sports romance, and this one here is perfect!
First of all, a huge thanks to the author for sending me an ARC copy of the novel! I really enjoyed it! And here is my honest review (spoiler-free):
This book is perfect for everyone who loves lots of tension between the main characters, forced proximity, slight enemies to lovers, and figure skating. The main characters, Sloane and Asher, are forced to skate with each other. She just lost her partner, and she isn't really open to someone new. Especially not Asher. There is tons of tension between the two characters, and the plotline stays interesting until the end. You'll never know what happens next! I absolutely loved the character development. There was a lot in the dark about the characters in the beginning. During the story, you learn more about them, step by step. There is tons of good spice in this book. Even though the focus is not entirely on it, the relationship depends at least a little on it. I can totally recommend this book!!
Dnfed this 10% in. I just couldn’t get myself to finish since every sentence was just the MC complaining and whining about how she wants her old partner and being completely annoying and unreasonable. There were also a quite some grammar mistakes that just triggered me. All in all this story didn’t really interest me or made me finish it.
Thanks for the arc tho I’m glad I was given the opportunity.
Thank you Celina for the ARC!!! Here comes my honest review of the book:
I absolutely loved this books. Asher and Sloane are so perfect and their relationship is magnificent! They are forced to skate with each other and the tension between them?! I am living for it! And the spice in this book? Oh my god it was perfect literally 3.5/5 🌶🌶🌶 it wasn’t completely focused on it but it was detailed and I loved the relationship around it. The writing style was as well good and easy to understand.
I highly recommend this book to everyone who loves a cute, realistic, spicy and lovable sports romance. Everyone who loved “From Lukov with Love” will enjoy reading this book.
Thank you Celina for sending me an ARC of your newest book!! I love sport romance books and since reading FLWL I was searching for another ice skating romance and I found it!! At the beginning of the book I didn’t really like Sloane but while continuing reading she really grew to me. It was amazing seeing Sloane and Asher grow together and become the best version of themselves. It was fun watching them going from being strangers and not caring about each other to being in love and doing anything for the other. Them having to hide their relationship was one of my favourite parts, I’m a sucker for secret relationships. I really enjoyed reading their story and them helping each other and facing their problems together <3 Now let me tell you the tropes for this great book: - Slight enemies to lovers - spot romance ~ Ice skating - forced proximity Definitely read this book if your looking for an easy read and a great ice skating book!!
The ice between us follows Sloane and Asher and their journey from being enemies to lovers and it also follows their ups and downs throughout the book.
I was honored to receive an arc of this book and I enjoyed reading it. For me, connecting with the characters was a little bit of a struggle but as I read more, I could understand them better.
At first, I thought Sloane was a little bit dramatic over the fact that she no longer had her best friend as her partner, but putting myself in her shoes made me realise that I'd probably act the same.
I really liked Asher's character and even his life was interesting with everything going on. It was different to read about a character like Asher.
My favorite part was the Epilogue and I loved how honest it was written.
I absolutely love this book. I always loved to read sport romances and I think this is my favorite book now in this genre🥰
At first I thought Sloane was really stubborn an annoying, but she had a huge character development and I love her character😍
Asher is the cutest. He has such a pure heart and cares about the people around him. And I also love the fact, that he was the one who fell in love first🫶🏼
I just have to say it is the perfect book if you want to read a spicy, heartwarming and captivating book. I've always found figure skating fascinating, but this book has piqued my interest even more😉
Thank you Celina for giving me this chance and letting me read and review your book, before its release. I would have never thought that you would send me an ARC, but I’m really thankful for this opportunity. I'm looking forward to reading new books from you❤️
I looove Asher and sport romances and this is such a good one!!
Sloane and Asher are two figure skaters who are forced to skate together, because Sloanes old skate partner had an accident and unfortunately can't compete anymore. In the beginning the two main characters hate each other, but at the same time they can't stay away from one another and I absolutely loved their chemistry!
The setting of the book is beautiful and it was well written, I could picture it perfectly. I loved Sloanes character development and Asher is just....😍!
I really enjoyed seeing the progress of them training and competing together, until finally reaching the Olympics!
Tropes: slow burn, slight enemies to lovers and forced proximity
I LOVED THIS BOOK!¡ I mean come on, there’s ice skating, enemies to lovers, dual pov etc. what more could you want 🥵 The book was fast pace but not to the point where you’re like “SLOW DOWNNN!” A quick and easy read for anyone wanting a light read! perfect for people who’s first language isn’t english :)
Sloane at the start was stubborn but her character development was so good!! and Asher!! what a cutie ♡ obsessed with him and he’s just the sweetest 😭
Overall, Celina did a beautiful job at writing and publishing this book!! I am beyond proud of her ❤️❤️ I am so thankful of receiving this ARC and i’ll be forever grateful xxxx I’m looking forward to reading your other books and all the ones in the future ;)
Celina, before I start I want to say that you did such a great job and I feel honoured that I could read this book because if it wasn’t for this ARC I probably wouldn’t have read it. That is because I wouldn’t have heard about it since I wasn’t really into reading sporty romances but you changed that!!! <3
This book is incredible, the storyline: amazing!
When I first read about Asher I did not at all like him, however as I continued I slowly caught myself falling in love with him and the way he thinks. The tension between him and Sloane is well written, I loved the duo POV, it is what made me fall in love with Asher. Sloane’s POV is great too but Asher’s gives you this extra, I think by knowing more than Sloane, you understand Asher more and why he treats her the way he does which is what got me, especially when Sloane first met his father!
The only thing why I am not giving 5 stars is, I had a sort of hard time reading because the romance was a bit to slow for me and then abruptly it appeared but then left again.
What I really do love is the way you wrote around the spice. If you liked the series “Zero Chill” and “Spinning Out” you should definitely read this book! <3
I really enjoyed reading the book, it was an easy read!! I would definitely reread the book
I have to admit that I didn’t like the female mc at the beginning but I liked her growth throughout the book.
Asher is such a kind soul and I love him with my whole heart he definitely didn’t deserve what happened to him but I’m so glad he got his happy ending!! <3
Thank you for sending me an ARC and I’m so sorry it took me so long to finish the book but I had a lot going on. Reading this book was worth every second I spent on it so I can’t wait to read other books of yours that will release in the future!!
I stayed up late to finish this book! It was just so good, that I couldn't put it down! Thank you so much Celina for sending me an ARC! I feel honored to read and review the book before it is published!
Now to my review: I absolutely loved this book! It is the perfect, spicy sport romance! I fell in love with figure skating long ago, as I started skating myself! It was fun to read about my favorite sport, especially because it made me fall in love with the plot and the characters even more! The chapters are short, and easily written. The writing style is easy to understand, especially for none native speakers! This is my one of my favs from now on and I'll surely read this several times!
I really enjoyed this read! It has a really nice pace to it where it moves quite fast but is not rushed.
At first I didn't really like Sloane but as the book continues you can really start to see her grow and at some point even understand her and her actions.
Now I really love Asher. He is this strong Character that every book needs. He has quite a dark backstory but I love that this book doesn't romanticise it and rather just tells his story.
Over all this is a really good figure skating romance with just the right amount of spice. Definitely would recommend.
And thank you so much to Celina for the ARC to this book. I really enjoyed it.
DNF @ Page 11. This read like one of my creative writing pieces when I was 14, it was THAT bad. There’s only so many simple sentences I can read at once and 8 in one paragraph is too much.
Don’t waste your time, just read From Lukov with Love instead. A shame bc I love figure skating romance…
"The Ice Between Us" was a simply wonderful book. It was very kindly offered to me by the author in ARC reading, and it is a pleasure to have been one of the first people to read it.
The book has a very simple but no less impressive and fluid writing. It is one of the few books that has managed to catch my attention from the beginning, and so it was to until the end! The chapters alternate between Asher and Sloane, which I loved because I was able to see each character’s point of view. The plot was very well constructed, and I enjoyed following the evolution of the characters throughout the story, their difficulties, their struggles and especially the relationship between Asher and Sloane, full of passion and ups and downs. The author was able to pass to the paper the emotion of the characters, which made me feel everything they felt.
It is undoubtedly a book that I would reread to rest from a heavier reading, despite it addressing very important topics such as loss and grief. What I found most interesting in history was that two people, from completely different economic and social backgrounds, met and established such a beautiful relationship, relying on each other to overcome their difficulties.
It’s a book that I highly recommend to sport romance lovers!
So first of all thank you celina for the arc ! I‘m probably a bit late with my review but I was so stressed with school I apologize.
I loved the dynamic between Asher and Sloane. They are such an incredibly cute ship and I also loved how you included spicy scenes for them as well. Asher definitely did fell first for her. It was such an adorable slow burn.
I sometimes felt during reading the book a few things weren’t that important to be included in the storyline but what I liked is that we found out more about Irinas past.
A few scenes bored me sometimes but a book without boring scenes isn’t a book right ! I now tons of books and some of my fav books even had boring scenes so that isn’t a critical point here
The book almost had me with 4 stars but I just wished that maybe the skating scenes at the competitions would be a bit more detailed for example when they are showing the choreographies. All in all I really enjoyed the book and I recommend it to those who like the writing style of Marina Zapata (since she has also a ice skating book).
My best friend and I are trying to read more Indie Authors & this book got recommended to us! I thought this would be the perfect book to read now that ice skating season has started again! I definitely didn't get disappointed! I love this story, and I can definitely recommend this to everyone who loves sport romance, and ice skating. I partly disliked the slow-burn at the beginning, as I don't like this trope, but it's all worth it! I love that the book is spicy, but the focus is not kept on the spice & there is still a fantastic story built around the characters!
I loved this book! Ice skating is a sport that I always thought it super fascinating, so it was an instant buy. I was scared that I might not like it, because it definitely was a slow burn romance, but I started loving it pretty quickly. Asher has my heart. He honestly deserves the world, and I love the story the author created for Asher. I definitely highly recommend this book, also loved the smut in here!
I loved it, it’s the perfect book to leave a reading slump even more. If you like iceskating and romance books, it’s from haters to lovers I really enjoyed all of it. You never get tired of reading it. It’s like a string pulls you to continue reading us, if you were glued to the book, I’m sad I finished the book because it’s one of the best books I’ve ever read the end is so good and I’m so happy for them
DNF! Rich verse poor. I wanted to like this book so much because I’ve read another book by this author and also it’s hard to find a good figure skater, romance book, I made it about halfway through the book and I just cannot take it anymore. Very slow. the male main character had some good dialogue but other than that it was just OK.
3.5⭐️ This book was really good. I couldn’t get over how it kept saying I am instead of I’m but I guess that’s a me issue. There was some really cute moments but I didn’t believe in there chemistry. Overall it was a really cute book!!!
I had to dnf this book after about a 100 pages. The idea behind the story is super cool and there is a part of me that wants to keep reading to find out what happens to Sloane and Asher but the grammar mistakes, surface-levelled writing and lack of change in scenery really threw me off and did not allow me to enjoy the reading process. I feel like with a little help from professional beta-readers this could be a really great book though and I’d be happy to try again!
