It was like some kind of horrific art exhibition…

Seven decomposing bodies suspended in the trees—as if positioned in hammocks.

Swaying in the wind.

All dressed in identical white gowns.

Redwater is a small, quiet town. Things like this don’t happen in Redwater…

No one likes a visit from the Sheriff on a Sunday evening.

Zoe Seacombe is looking for a fresh start—and a way to escape her tragic past.

So, the last thing she expected was an evening visit from the local sheriff, Mitch Shaw.

When he told her he’d found her missing sister, she’d felt relief—faith that perhaps God did exist, and he hadn’t completely abandoned her.

But Mitch’s next words shattered her world: Lana had been found dead in the woods, suspended between two trees.

Zoe didn’t think anyone could understand her pain, but Mitch understood it better than she knew. Determined to find the killer before any more women were hung from the trees, Lana and Mitch join forces to find Redwater’s serial killer.

But Zoe is much closer to the killer than they realized, and she is his next target.

Mitch has already buried the love of his life once and he refuses to do it again.

Can Mitch find Zoe before it’s too late?

Brilliant! Just absolutely brilliant. I read a lot of detective novels and with this one I couldn’t work out right until the end whodunnit. More like this please! Highly recommend it.

I absolutely LOVED this book! It was an amazing read from beginning to end. I feel this book has been the best yet. Mitch and Zoe are complicated characters with a love of nature, animals, family and God. Both main characters are healing from tragedies in their past but the murder or Zoe's sister brings them together. The small town feel and secondary characters add to the whole story. You've got action, mystery, adventure, strife all compiled into one terrific story.

Redwater is a small, beautiful town where very little "police business" happens but this story brings multiple murders and drugs into the small town all while the two main detectives are on vacation in Europe. So who steps up, the Sheriff, Mitch with his fantastic and loyal department.

The action and adventure made this easy for me to read as I tend to get lost in pages and pages of narrative. You will love this book. Don't miss the opportunity to read Lana by Brooke Ramsey!

I received this book ahead of time for an honest review.

The series continues in the town of Redwater and before the end of the chapter you’re hooked.

Mitch and his dog stumble into a gruesome sight in the woods and while Mitch may be the sheriff of this town he has never seen anything like what is before him and he’ll never forget

Lana has settled in this town in an effort to start over after having to endure personal tragedy no one should ever have to But instead Lana’s past finds her in this town This time Lana is determined not to run from it but will use her skills to help Mitch find the murderer

Past tragedy pulled Mitch into finding solace and comfort in God’s hands, while Lana’s tragedy turned her away from God. Lana will, however, find comfort in God again as she faces the future

Mitch and Lana are drawn together as the story unfolds. Lana bares a striking resemblance to the murdered women and Mitch is worried he won’t be able to protect her.

Once again the author has you on the edge of your seat and while you’re anxiously waiting to get to the end to find out what happens and who the enemy is, you’ll also be disappointed that this great read has come to an end

Thank goodness we can count on this author to bring us another great read - and it can’t come soon enough.

Lana
Book 3 Cold Case Murder Mystery Series
Brooke Ramsey
Gruesome mass killings found by chance.
“… now all three were good friends. They say it takes years to develop a strong friendship, but Mitch didn’t believe that- a life-changing event could also create a strong bond. Or, more correctly, God could bind people together. It didn’t always take years; sometimes it only took weeks or months.”
Bethenny, Lachlan and Mitch are a tight police unit and strong friends. But when the bodies are found his two best officers are in Europe. Mitch has to find his inner strength.
“They’d both experienced the kind of heartache that stole your breath and bled from your bones.”
Zoe is in a world hurt with very little to inspire her to do more than exist. In a hope to start a new life she moves to sleepy little town Redwater but finds herself in the middle of a nightmare.
Psychological thriller, Christian Romantic Suspense at its best. Ms Ramsey can weave a story that will honestly keep you guessing and in your toes till the end. The characters are so well written and are relatable in every way.
I loved this book and hope there are more to come!
This is book three in the series but can totally be read as a stand-alone novel with hea.
I received an arc of this book.

Lana is the 3rd book in the Christian romantic suspense series that Brooke has written & i feel that this one surpasses the other 2 if possible. We see Mitch a detective who while walking his dog finds 7 bodies hanging from trees in a macabre & truly horrifying way. One of the bodies is Lana who’s sister Zoe has just moved to the small town of Redwater & is trying to put her life back together after losing her husband. Discovering who the serial killer is before another life is taken becomes a thrilling page turner. Trying myself to get into the mindset of the killer, once again i find that the author has given a very thoughtful provoking read that i loved, but also realised how much i enjoyed her heartfelt description she gives of everyday people living in exceptional situations, but still able to maintain their own moral integrity albeit in a fictional read. A fast paced thriller i enjoyed immensely.

Move Over James Patterson and Others - Here Comes Brooke Ramsey!

Brooke's ability to draw readers in from the very first word remains unequalled. Wanted to read faster but not at all happy to finish the book, - so what did I do? Purposely set the book down at intervals to prolong the reading experience and to make the book last longer (that was an extremely difficult experiment indeed).
Book 3 in this series held the perfect amount of mystery, suspense plus romantic interest. Spellbinding suspense throughout. Superbly crafted and delivered, full of anxious moments, breath holding intrigue. Definitely Brooke's best writing to date - delivered with gripping intensity. Action never relents as Zoe and Matt work together to discover evidence of cold case murders.
To finish reading this book leaves reader feeling bereft, similar to losing a good friend.
This book was given to me in exchange of an honest review.

Oh wow, what an emotionally fraught but beautiful story! I was in tears so many times reading this book. But through all this I was rooting for these characters to find happiness. Even tho you know it’s a Christian romance it’s not in your face it just adds to the depth of the story. It brings a meaning and almost dare I say purpose to how they cope with tragedy. My heart hurt for them both as a couple but individually. It was beautifully handled and resolved. This small town has seen its hardships recently but I adored all the characters involved and I can’t wait to see where Ms Sivendra takes us next.

A small town of Redwater, Mitch is the sheriff He stumbles upon a grotesque art installation whist walking his dog Gus through the woods. 7 women dressed in white suspended by ropes in the trees, he thinks that Redwater may be harbouring a serial killer. One of the was a girl named Lana, and it just happens that her sister has just moved into the area. Mitch has to tell Zoe her sister that sibling has been found dead. Zoe and Mitch form a partnership in order to find out how her sister dies and to get justice for the other victims.
A thriller from beginning to end, with Mitch finally finding some happiness in the arms of Zoe. Again Brooke doesn’t disappoint with a surprise ending .

I have read all of Brooke’s books, written under Brooke Sivendra and Brooke Ramsey. This new series gets better and better. I was completely engrossed in this book. You don’t have to read the first two books in the series to fully enjoy this book as each in the series are stand alone stories. The suspense was excellent. The characters came to life under Brooke’s pen. I highly recommend this book, as well as all books written by Brooke.

The story of Lana is the 3rd in the series but can be read without the previous 2 novels.
I think this was the best by far.
The story had me in on the first page. & grisley bodies suspended hammock style between trees in the woods...
It is not only the story of Lana. It is the story of quite a few people currently resising in the country town of Redwater, but particularly of the developing relationship between Zoe (Lana's sister) and Mitch the Sherrif. Both have lost so much, and also find their faith also helps with the circumstances that they both find themselves in.
The story kept me rivited with Brooke's usual unexpected plot twists and turns. Every book Brooke writes is better than the last.
Looking forward to more.

What a way to bring Psycho to Christian Romance. I don't know how Brooke's husband can sleep at night with this over active brain lying next to him. An amazing, gripping read, terrifying and heart wrenching. Fireworks and 5 stars for this book.

I absolutely loved this book. Zoe and Mitch are the main characters. They have both loved and lost and seem to be perfect for each other. But there is a major problem, there is a serial killer on the loose and he/she wants the victims to be seen as works of art. Imagine walking in the woods on a nice day only to walk up on several decomposing bodies hanging from tree to tree. The fact that Zoe’s sister is among the bodies is where things get very interesting. Mitch, being the Sheriff, has to get the case solved, before any more bodies are found…especially since Zoe has a similarity to the ones the killer has already killed.

I just loved this book! It has intrigue, mystery, all the feelings possible. Lana is a book you don't want to put down. If it was not for my hectic work schedule, I would of read this in one sitting. I don't want to give anything away. I promise if you read this book, you will love it. Brooke is a master storyteller.( I do believe she worked in law enforcement or a secret government agency in another life and it has spilled over into this life with her books.)

I enjoyed this 3rd in the series even more than the previous two.
I think Brooke is finding her feet in this genre. A couple of plots to confuse, a few red herrings to send you the wrong way. This is more like the Brooke I'm used to.
I really liked Zoe. She had lost so much but was strong enough to overcome her grief and find some happiness.
Jackson really stood out for me in this story. I hope he's going to get his own book.
A good read, a bit gruesome to start and keeps you guessing for a while.
I look forward to the next book.

romance, suspense and murder

This is the third book in Brooke’s cold case murder series. It has a bit everything, Christian romance, murder suspense etc. the story revolves around a serial killer who wants to recreate his masterpiece of one of his dreams relating to killing women and stringing them from trees like hammocks. Sheriff Mitch Shaw’s dog discovers the bodies and thus sparks an investigation which brings him and the new women in town together. Zoe’s sister is one of the victims. This is a very interesting read.

AMAZING

I was given Olivia from Bookbub. It was love at first read. I normally, leave four to five stars, and skip this part. I write enough in my work life. But this series is well worth the effort. The characters grew in faith and themselves as the story progresses. Yes, they were Christians, but they were down to earth, living their faith in a real way in the real world. No, idealized bubbles for these believers. After Olivia, I could not put my kindle down until I had read the whole series. Each book took the reader into a new world, drug gangs, an elite gymnastic academy, and Redwater, a town I would love to visit. I felt as if I were a silent partner in solving the cases. I will be looking for more from this author.

This book had me reeling from the suspenseful story line. A truly great read that I was not able to put down. I have not read any books in this series but this book has me hooked and I will be reading much much more. When I started reading this book I did not know what to expect but I was soon caught up in this unravelling suspense. I had goose bumps with every word I read and the detail that the author used to describe certain scenes had me visualising everything as it was happening. A true psychological thriller that will blow your mind away.

I received an arc copy from the author and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

I thoroughly enjoyed the romantic suspense story between Zoe and Mitch after Mitch discovers a series of gruesome murders in the woods, including the death of Zoe's sister. I found it page-turning as I liked the intrigue and criminal profile of someone who would resort to such serial killer acts. Zoe was a Psychologist who was quite efficient at giving the psychological profile of the serial killer for Mitch, who was the town's Sheriff,. Her profile assisted the police in finding possible suspects, and throughout their discovery, they fell in love. I especially liked the way Zoe strategised in the case. Well worth the read.

Brooke continues to shine in the Christian Romantic Suspense genre. This book features her signature intriguing plot twists and turns and exceptional character development. Her handling of realistic Christian characters dealing with spiritual challenges in imperfect human ways living a Christian faith. The romance is slow building but a great undercurrent to the story. Fantastic handling of grief in this story as well as the gripping suspense builds another fantastic read by Brooke Ramsey. I can't wait for the next book in this series!

Brooke never disappoints with her storylines. She has a knack for bringing her characters to life in her Books. I have enjoyed the two other books in the series but just loved Lana. Brooke certainly ramped up the suspense and drama in this one. The further you get into the book, the harder it gets to put it down. You just never know what twist or turn Brooke is going to write next. You really must follow Zoe and Mitch's trials and tribulations as they strive to find the person behind all the macabre cold case murders which have happened in their small town.
