I was given an ARC of Layla Delaney’s story “Precarious Proposals,” which is part of this anthology. The story has a sad, tragic backstory as well as a dark and potentially dangerous encounter, but otherwise, is a fun story of falling for and working with the “enemy.” Triss has been deeply changed by an incident in her life which makes it incredibly hard to trust and open up to her rival, Joe. He’s incredibly steadfast in his conviction that they can not only work well together, but will make a fantastic couple, even with all the mixed signals Triss sends him. I loved the backstory building all around and would love to see more of Triss and Joe as well as some of the background characters!
Precarious Proposals by Layla Delaney 3.5 stars This is a quick, easy, sexy read. Joe and Triss are interesting characters, whose romance I enjoyed. Many of the secondary characters were interesting and added to the fabric of the story. I enjoyed the sports aspect of the story, as well as the corporate. I wish that the epilogue had been further in the future – but then those are the kinds of epilogues I love.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
An enemies to lovers novella that is easily read in one go. Lucinda and Nate are both strong characters, each believing that what they did when they were younger was right at the time. I did think that Lucinda went a bit over the top when at school and again at the reunion, but it did make a funny story! Definitely some laugh out loud moments! A sweet ending.
This enemies to lovers novella was a quick enjoyable read. I adored Nate but had a hard time adjusting to Lucinda’s character. She had held a grudge against him for 10 years... but the problem was her. I do believe she did redeem herself by the end and it was quite a funny read even if Lucinda was a bit over the top at the reunion. Fun, quick read
I was given a complimentary copy but voluntarily chose to review
These amazing authors have come together to give us a wonderful selection of stories for this collection. Each story pulls us into the lives of the characters and does not let go.
Her Temporary Boss by R. Sullins: The author has given us a fast-paced story that pulls us into the lives of Mandy and Brent. The story keeps us turning the pages with instant connection, desire and steam.

Oh my gosh. Most of those were so incredibly cute. Steamy and spicy but still just so stinking adorable. No matter what you’re in the mood for, this anthology has something for most every taste: second chance, meet cute, love at first sight, star crossed lovers. There’s a little bit of everything between these covers. And when all was said and done, I’m a little sad to be letting go of these characters now.
This anthology is filled with a variety of delightful stories. One of the stories that I enjoyed was Watch Your Back by Mel Walker. Lucinda has held a grudge against her high school crush, Nate, for several years. The antics she's planned for their high school reunion were a laugh! Loved this cute little enemies to maybe something more quick read.
I read “Holly” by C. L. Collier, an ARC copy and I loved it!! Very easy to read and the story line is very cute!! The word that kept coming to my mind the whole time was SERENDIPITY. This story is full of it and I think the entire book is also. I loved the theme names. Holly and Patrick are adorable. Can’t wait for the next stories.
OMGEEEE! I LOVED this reunion and all the shenanigans! Watch your Back was quite a story with so many crazy moments. This is the type of stuff my friends & I would come up with…I am soooooo upset we never thought of the “Farmers Market Challenge” 😂😂. Once again, Mel has created a fantastic story that I want more of!!
Not Quite Cupid by Mellanie Szereto is a good, and enjoyable quick age gap friends to lovers romance read. The story has a good story line. The characters are good, and they have good chemistry. This story is an older woman and younger man friends to lovers romance read.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Competitors and lovers...not a good combination. Will trust become an issue or others involved tear them apart? Past experiences get in the way, other players become part of the equation. Love may conquer all or rip it to shreds.
Review of Watch Your Back by Mel Walker: Lucinda and Nate are not your typical high school sweethearts. They fell in love with one another, didn't let each other know, and then had a cat-and-mouse chase with the cat getting increasingly aggressive and the mouse embarrassing the cat. We are now at his 10-year reunion, which she only attended to see him (since it's not her reunion). She wants to make him pay for what he did to her in high school. A series of pranks and having a real conversation allow them to reveal their true feelings for one another. Maybe it's 10 years later than it should have happened, but the love birds are together.
