The hopeless romantic.
Admirable.
Kind hearted.
Thoughtful as ever.

The good time.
Desired.
Passionate.
Beautiful as can be.

Elliott Stevens got whatever and whoever she wanted with no strings attached. After all, the last thing she wanted was to be tied down.

Meh. This book didn’t really do much for me or my emotions. It’s the kind of book you want to get into if you’re ever looking for a break from super intense reads. Don’t get me wrong, it had its moments… just not enough or strong enough to garner a higher rating. Also, I didn’t care at all about the h sleeping around even after meeting the H, even though they still were not together. I wouldn’t want that shit when it comes to the H, so I wouldn’t want it with the h either. NO to double standards! Lol

**MAJOR SPOILERS BELOW**

Safety Gang:
-CW: infidelity (h’s parents), death of parent (side character), neglectful parents (h), cheating (H’s ex cheating on him)
-Safe sex: N/A — there were no real descriptive sex scenes so nothing is mentioned (there was only one sex scene between the MCs but they were already in the middle of doing it and was super brief)
-H & h age, both in their early 20s
-No virgins; h used to sleep around
-No cheating between MCs, although the h still sleeps with OM after meeting the H but they weren’t dating or together yet
-There was a sex scene bewteen h and OM (her constant fuck buddy) but it wasn’t very descriptive
-OM drama — h’s constant fuck buddy before was the same guy who the H’s ex cheated on him with and when he sees the OM talking with H, he fights with him
-OW drama — the H’s ex keeps trying to get back together with H and keeps trying to break H and h up. Some drama ensues because the H wasn’t honest with the h about his dating history with his ex
-There was a separation of a few weeks(?) but they were both celibate
-HEA with epilogue (2.5 years later)

4.5 “you’re a riot” stars!!!

elliot and cooper’s story was a refreshing one that’s for sure! not often do i read of a girl who is the one to avoid anything to do with a relationship and that’s what we see here with elliot! and cooper was the perfect gentlemen - caring, sweet, patient. well until he wasn’t. but that big moment in their story had my heart racing too. had my eyes flying over the pages in anxiousness and worry for them! in the end, i loved how everything happened and even the grovelling was perfect!

This book was not what I expected. In my opinion the writing fell a bit flat as did the plot line of the book. There was no high, there was no low it was just a constant the whole way through. It was a struggle for me to get myself to finish it.

Beautiful.

If this word doesn't describe the book, then I don't know what will.

Everything about this book is so beautiful; the writing style, the characters, their interactions, every single fucking thing is cute af! Especially the friendship, that's one of the best thing in this book! Oh and let's not forget the smuts please, it was so hot!!

I adore the character sketch of Elliott! We deserve more characters like her!! She deserves so much, especially after what she has been through. And Cooper? Puhlease Mar should start selling Cooper 'cause I'll definitely buy one for myself!!!

If you're looking for a new adult romance book with a playgirl, a sweet boy, cute friendships, family dramas and a dash of cuteness, then definitely check this book out! I swear you'll fall in love with it!

This book is a must read from me! And I can't wait to check more of Marissa's work in the future!!!

This story is about love, growth and acceptance of one’s past to be able to move on with their future.

I first read this book as an ARC and it did not disappoint!! The growth we see between the main MC’s Elliot and Cooper from the beginning of the relationship till the end of the book is incredible! Elliot had a rough past that has made her into the women she is today and it’s amazing the growth and acceptance she goes through with dealing with it to be with Cooper! It’s real issues that people can have and you can truly understand why Elliot is the way she is. She is such a strong and independent women who doesn’t take shit from anyone! Such an amazing read and can’t wait to have it on my bookshelf!

Provided an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I didn't give this book 5 stars because the author happens to be an incredibly special someone in my life. I gave this book a 5-star rating because the writing by Marissa is simply phenomenal. This book deals with real and honest emotions that we, humans, go through in our day-to-day lives.

This book is about heartbreak, creating new beginnings, navigating through the ups and downs life has to give you, and also, learning to let go and be able to love again. This is exactly what I needed to read because I'm a sucker for everything real. Anything raw.

Cooper and Eli will always have a special place in my heart. Their story will definitely make you feel everything that a reader should feel.

Not to mention... the spice between these two! Absolute fire.

Balanced and well emulated.

Chasing Elliot is a fun and heartwarming story that gripped my attention from the beginning. From the mystery of Elliot's backstory to the way Cooper tries to win her heart keeps you hooked until the very end. There are a few confusing parts that will most likely be changed from the ARC version to the published version and to avoid spoilers, I won't mention them. Overall, I would recommend this story to anyone who loves a heartwarming love story.

i was in a sense of confusion for the first few chapters bc of the lack of background and introduction to characters, but i did finally grasp it. the further we got into the book, the more the plot just lacked. i had such high expectations and i’m sad i didn’t enjoy this.
