Through this synthesis of kriya yoga, presented in this book, you will discover a path to your true self. Although, the real meaning of these words can be known only through direct experience. This inner knowledge is accessible to all who have a spiritual practice. Followers of all creeds may practice these basic yogic techniques, which develop human potentialities for living fully aware of ourselves. If you practice this yoga daily, with deep attention and perseverance, you will discover the Reality. Those who are steadfast will ultimately be lifted into the realm of the Cosmic Consciousness.
As much as I understand that the "real" Yogananda respected and paid homage to Christ, I don't want to learn Kriya Yoga purely from a judeo-christian lens. This book, regardless of its authenticity, over emphasis Kriya's connections to Christianity and the Bible, instead of teaching from its source (Hinduism).
For those who are Christian and open to Kriya, this book is for you. But if you want to learn Kriya from the context of it's origins, you'll be a little annoyed with all the parallels made to Christianity.
