This is the 4th in the series about Mia North who is an escaped convict and a former FBI Agent. Mia was one of the best agents in solving the crimes, but she has been framed, stood trial and convicted of a murder she didn't commit.
She has managed to escape and she is on the run to try to find out who framed her so she can get back to her life. It seems while Mia is fighting for her life and running from a US Marshall, that she just can't let a case go even though she on the on the run. When she finds out her best friend's son was found murdered, she is going to find out who killed him and his girlfriend, even though they are saying it is a suicide.
This time, Mia might be on her way back to prison, as she working on a case and she has now been pulled over by a cop! How is she going to get out of this one???
Mia continues on the run and in See Her Vanish she is very near to getting behind bars again but she cannot stop to pursue those responsible for killing people. Besides following the leads that might lead to the solution of her own case, she gets involved with the case of young couples that are being murdered, and to reach a solution she works in several different positions with a carnival. A very good plot, with relatable characters, that provides good entertainment. The author provided me with a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
This is the first Mia North book I think I've read, so I'm jumping into the middle of a larger storyline. Even though I hadn't read the earlier books, it was easy to pick up on what is going on.
I found Mia to be a sympathetic character and enjoyed reading about her exploits. I like it when books like this address real world issues and bring to light aspects of our country and culture that operate below the radar.
Short thriller books but captivating and leaves you on a cliff hanger. What started out as “oh it’s a free book why not” has turned into wanting to finish the series
Mia Mia Mia. Stubborn but I guess in a good way since instead of laying low like she should be she is trying to bring justice in her journey to her own justice.
Mia can keep you intrigued for hours at a time. Kylie has done it again. Now I am going to read number five when I finish this article, we’ll done Rylie, you make my evening reading better.
Mia North risks her life once again in the hunt from a serial killer praying on couples enjoying a ride on the ferris wheel. She’s having a rough time staying ahead of the US Marshal who’s chasing her. Once again her old partner and her sister come through for her. Carnival life isn’t for Mia but she caught several bad guys.
Mia sweats into her eyes way too much for my liking and what's with two major characters who clearly know each other from book 1 pretending to not know each other in book 4? Make it make sense.
I got this book free on Chirp. I think the story was okay, but the audible voice sounded like AI. There was absolutely zero inflection in the monotone voice. It was a tough listen.
