Photographer Tricia Carlisle inherits her beloved grandmother’s orchard and leaves Chicago for her Texas roots, steeling herself to be immune to the charms of the small town—and those of Travis Walker, who stood her up on prom night seven years ago. Worse, she arrives only to find Nana’s place is in foreclosure. To have any hope of saving it, Tricia has no choice but to sell down assets—including her grandfather's crop duster.

Travis Walker loses his last true friend when Nana Carlisle passes. Will his handshake deal to buy her crop duster survive now that Tricia is taking over? She’s cash-strapped and probably still hates his guts. He needs that plane—it’s his ticket out of this small town that sees him as a crook—but it’s on Tricia’s radar now.

Fly Boy is a steamy, stand-alone second-chance novella in the All-American Boy Series. It's set in Deacon, Texas—home to sexy country boys and sassy, tough women. Warm, lazy afternoons in a hammock and swimming holes in a shady creek. Hot, heavenly Tex-Mex and even hotter kisses.

Come on down, y’all!

I write the things I love to read: steamy, fun stories about ordinary people in extraordinary circumstances, smart women and men who aren’t jerks. I like to read about friendships, either close women or a good bromance. I want all the feels: the thrill of a smoldering gaze or the barest brush of fingertips, the shocked gasp at the underhanded villain, the angst of heartbreak, the joy of reunion, and of course, happily ever after!

I enjoy a sneak peek into intriguing groups, whether that be military personnel, medicine, or another culture like Greece. It’s fun to live vicariously and go sailing, diving, or rock climbing. A bit of danger always gets me going, so many of my Romances have a thriller subplot. I also write thrillers with a slow-burn romantic subplot.

I love humor and am partial to witty banter and embarrassing situations! Love is funny sometimes!

I hate to read the same old thing, with only the names and places changed, so my goal is to bring you a fresh, fun, NEW story every time, with NO CLIFFHANGERS!
More than anything, I want a rollicking, great story that I can’t put down, one where love prevails in the end, one that will whisk me away from my own tribulations.

Tricia came back to her grandmother's orchard after a sudden illness took her, and when she found out it was in foreclosure she was determined to raise the money and save it. But when she found out there was a verbal agreement between her Nana and the man she always had loved Travis.
Travis's family is usually the bad people in town but he's trying not only to show the real hi but win Tricia forever. Things go bad once the fires get close putting the orchard dangerously close to going up in flames.

Chloe Holiday delivers another fine story, in novella form. As with all of her books there is more there than just angst-filled gazes and heavy breathing. The story explores living in a small town where it can be hard to for one character move on from the shadow of a family a shady reputation and the struggles of another character to return to a small Texas town from "the big city". Throw into the mix a complicated past for these characters that threatens to derail the feelings for each other that are obvious from the moment they reconnect. Mix in some small-town skullduggery by a shady banker (is there any other kind?) and some lively and memorable side character and you have a rousing read that pulls you along to a very satisfying conclusion.
Chole Holiday has made it her trademark to write stories that have some heft to the plot and to populate the stories with complex main characters who are worthy of our time. Another element her stories have is a cast of secondary characters that are more vivid and three-dimensional that many other writers' main characters. The main problem with her books is that they always leave you wishing for more because you aren't ready to put these characters behind you. Planned or not, the adage of "leave them wanting more" is very much at play in her stories, as opposed to some other books out there that fall into the "overstaying your welcome" category. Hopefully we will see some of these characters again.

This was my first book by this author and I really enjoyed it. It was a very endearing and loveable read. There were some funny parts as well as some serious parts. Travis ended up hurting Tricia back in high school and he regretted the way it had turned out but because of his name he was always getting the raw end of the deal. But now they were both at the same place yet again.  What would happen this time around? As I read i really hoped that she would just follow what her heart was telling her. What her grandmother was doing. Not what people kept telling her. If you are looking for a cute summer read that has some intense parts this will be your book.

Can't Never Could

Fly Boy is a stand alone story set in a small Texas town. I loved that the majority of the drama was outside of the relationship rather than between Tricia and Travis, and that the focus was often on persevering despite challenges. I especially liked Nana Carlisle's motto of can't never could.

I received a copy of the book at my request, and the opinions here are my own.

" Two hundred and thirty four thousand dollars before 15th November" Tricia Leigh Carlisle faced old school friend Connor Deacon in the bank, trying hard to put to the back of her mind what had happened seven years ago after the senior prom, she couldn't believe that Carlisle farm and orchard were under foreclosure but she remembered Nan's favourite saying "Can't never could", Tricia would find the money somehow but from where ?

Tricia's nan had died suddenly whilst Tricia was following her career as a photographer in Chicago, Deacon Texas was her childhood home and held many happy memories and some sad ones. Nan had left the farm and orchard to Tricia but how was she going to keep it, it would break her heart to see it go.

Travis Walker came from a rough family and mud sticks but Tricia never looked down on him, they had been inseparable until the night of the senior prom.

Nan had always had a soft spot for Travis and he did jobs for her on the farm, nan owned a crop duster which Travis piloted, from the money that he earned from spraying crops he paid nan an amount monthly until he had paid enough to own the plane.

Connor Deacon had been one of Travis's few friends but not anymore, he was doing everything in his power to turn Tricia against him.

The powerful attraction between Tricia and Travis was still there but what had he to offer her ? the farm was going to be taken over by the bank, he didn't even have any proof of the money that he had paid Nan.

Connor and Travis were both holding secrets from Tricia, who was she to trust, Connor the upstanding town banker who was there when she needed someone or Travis, the love of her life from a criminal family who had let her down.

This is a lovely warm, well written story.

What a wonderful story!

Tricia inherits her grandmother's orchard property, but it's weeks away from foreclosure. Coming back to her hometown stirs up all the old connections, some good, some not. Her history with Travis still has a few misunderstandings and miscommunications, and she's getting mixed messages from those who think they know him better than she does. Still, she and Travis both have a vested interest in saving the orchard from the bank, so they learn to work together and trust each other as they work every possible avenue of income to meet the impossible deadline.

I really enjoyed the romance that was built first on the foundation of friendship, and I loved the way they worked together on the calendar project. The conflict was realistic and character-driven, and I loved the way it was finally resolved.

The author has a wonderful way of including a cornucopia of southernisms that lent an air of authenticity to this Texas-based story. I learned quite a bit about the crop dusting industry and adored the way Travis used his flight skills to both woo Tricia and save the day in the end. Their HEA neatly encompassed both their romance and their professional lives, and brought a little dash of justice to those who needed it.

I highly recommend this charming book to anyone who loves contemporary small town romances. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Chloe Holiday’s newest book, Fly Boy, is my favorite—so far. It’s a standalone, set in Texas, with down home charm, sweetness, and steamy bits. While this is a romance, the stakes are high for Tricia and Travis as they struggle with their hearts and livelihoods.

What I love about Holiday’s books are her strong and feisty female characters. They persevere no matter what. The men aren’t bad either! Her characters stay with me long after I finish reading. In Fly Boy, Nana Carlisle and several other secondary characters are as bold and memorable as Tricia and Travis.

For this book, Holiday did her homework regarding the setting, flying, and firefighting. The impending threat of a wildfire serves as an ever-present threat to everyone. Her beautifully crisp and vivid writing brings everything alive and had me on the edge of my seat the last few chapters.

I won’t say more, except that I really enjoyed this book and spending time with Holiday’s newest characters.

I have left my review voluntarily and honestly.

Well written characters, i interesting plot, however I was confused in a few parts, it felt like the author changed the details of the character.

The heroine, Tricia had to return home to her grandmother's orchard after a her grandmother had a sudden illness.

When Tricia arrived, she found out the orchard was in foreclosure. Tricia was determined to save the orchard. Along the way, she found out a verbal contract was made between her grandmother and Travis, the man she had always loved. Even though Travis's family is known for being the bad family in town, Travis is proved to prove them wrong, and Tricia that the town is wrong.

As things go from bad to worse, when fires hit very close to the orchard, and it almost goes up in flames.

Can Tricia save the orchard? Will Travis prove everyone wrong about being a "bad" person from a "bad" family? No spoilers, read the book.

A great summer beach read, or by the pool.

What I really enjoy about Chloe Holiday's books are the amount of effort she puts into giving the reader the experience of living the adventure along with the characters.
In Fly Boy, she's taken us along to learn about crop dusting and life on a small farm in a rural town. The chemistry between the two characters works, the history between them providing the "cement" between the characters that keeps them together despite what the rest of the town thinks, and provides the means to propel the plot forward. (Get it? because it's about airplanes? Propel? like in propeller? Like, you know, how an airplane has a propeller? and that makes it go forward? I need someone to help me explain my jokes better, I know.)
In the end, this is a fun, sexy book that gives you an experience you may not otherwise have and an escape, and all in all, well worth reading.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! My only gripe is that it wasn't longer because I wasn't ready to leave Tricia, Travis, and the town of Deacon, Texas.

Chloe Holiday wrote two very real and engaging characters with high stakes that leave you rooting for both of them with every page. She also created a lively cast of side characters! I would love to spill the tea with Beula Mae! Holiday weaves a story with a dynamic and engaging romance that leaves you as satisfied as the two love birds.

I read this book in just over a day...maybe that's why I felt like it was too fast. But I just couldn't stop. This was my first Chloe Holiday book and I can assure you that it won't be my last!

I received an early copy and this is my honest review :-D

A light read with a southern feel. Crop dusting isn’t too common anymore but I liked the somewhat unusual occupation. Tricia and Travis have a history, but refreshingly, they both act mature and talk things out (I’m kind of tired of simple misunderstandings threatening the end of relationships). I did think that Travis should have had more emotion (anger etc) over the lies spread about him all over town, but on the other hand it was kinda sexy that he didn’t care about their opinions (except Tricia’s of course). The calendar shoot was hilarious, but I did wonder why no work seemed to be done on the farm! And I did get a little tired of “Lord have mercy”!

This is a great second chance story for Trisha and Travis.
Trisha inherits her grandmother's farm which is in huge debt and she is thinking of selling things to keep afloat when she finds Travis had an agreement with her grandmother to buy the plane. Travis stood her up at prom by getting arrested and she didn't want anything to do with him. Now he has grown and is making a living which can help her keep the farm although the bank manager is trying everything to get her to sell to him. As a last ditch Trisha comes up with a money making scheme that she hopes will save her, but disaster strikes in the way of a bush fire. Is she ever going to get some good news and reconcile with Travis. This was a very enjoyable story.

A beautiful story about what is important, the impact of prejudice and the power of partnership to achieve what seems impossible. Travis was a really well written character. He came from a family of petty criminals and despite everything he did he felt permanently tainted. Tricia was trying to pursue her career before coming home following her grandmother's death to find she may be about to loose everything. I loved the way Travis and Tricia worked together and pulled in local people to support while building a relationship. I enjoyed the narration of Serafina Dare

Travis comes from a family of petty criminals and despite everything he does he feels permanently tainted. Tricia never looked down on him.
Tricia has been following her career as a photographer in Chicago. She comes home to Deacon Texas, when her Nan dies and leaves her the farm and orchard . Travis did jobs on the farm, nan owned a crop duster which Travis piloted.

A great listen.

This my first book from Chloe Holiday. I really enjoyed it! Even tho the narrator didn't really put alot of acting into her presentation, her reading was crisp, precise, and easy to listen to. Her male voice was very distinctive and good. I liked her presentation.
I loved these characters. Hard working. Smart. Sassy. Travis was a wonderful book boyfriend. I was really pulling for them. They worked so well together. Steamy.

Chloe Holiday did a great job creating characters that came to life. The story drew me in and held me captive till the end. The plot kept me engaged, the characters kept me entertained, and the drama had me biting my nails. And through it all, the humor kept me laughing. I was sorry when it ended.

Chloe's latest American Boy story is 🔥🔥🔥. Literally and figuratively! Fly Boy features a down South hometown firefighter-to-be and a Texan photographer returning home from the big city. Together, Travis and Tricia must save Tricia's grandmother's farm from foreclosure and wildfires using the sales from their calendars of local hunks.
Full of colorful characters and Southern charm. Five stars!

This was my first Chloe Holiday's book. This book is part of the All American Boy Series, a small town romance. Tricia and Travis's second chance to love is sweet and heartwarming. The characters are well developed. The storyline is intriguing, filled with drama and twists and turns. Serafina Dare did a good job with the narration.

A short, second chance romance read / listen. Well written, good narration, and a smooth flowing storyline. Our main characters are Tricia Carlisle and Travis Walker who have a complicated past. I love the small town aspect of this read and the good and bad that small towns can bring. Short, steamy and satisfying this was a great listen and I'm looking forward to more from Holiday as well as the All American Boy!

Tricia is home due to her Nana’s sudden death. Being home brings back childhood memories and emotions. She finds the property is in foreclosure and she has a very short time to get the money to save the property, it looks impossible. Travis is the son of a known trouble maker, and can’t shake his father’s reputation. He is a crop duster now, and is buying Nana’s plane. He dated Tricia in high school. They were to go to the prom, but he was set up, and missed the date, destroying their relationship. With a “best friend” like Connor, you don’t need enemies. As the story evolves you learn about the rekindling of Tricia and Travis’s relationship, and how they work together to save the farm. This is a sweet story of love rekindled, of finding out who your friends truly are, and how perseverance can overcome obstacles. My favorite part is when Connor gets what is coming to him. Narration was good.

This is a good small town romance. It is not really a full length read, or in my case, listen. The narrator did a good job bringing this story to life. The story is a second chance with some angst and drama. The story is about Tricia and Travis. Tricia has returned home to Texas after the sudden death of her Nan. She finds out that the orchard/farm is about to be foreclosed on. Travis worked jobs for Nan. He also had a payment plan and word to buy her plane. Now he must face a person from school that doesn't like him because of what happened at prom. This story develops nicely from begging to end. I really like the characters.

This book is an original! Travis Walker is trying to build something he can be proud of and his only friend and supporter suddenly dies. Her granddaughter Tricia inherits everything including the crop duster that he and her granny had made a handshake deal on. The only problem is that Tricia probably still hates him for standing her up on prom night even if it was 7 years ago. Tricia comes home to find the farm in foreclosure and the only quick way to pay off the debt is by selling the crop duster. It seems that Tricia and Travis have a lot to discuss. While they are working on getting what they both want/need they keep hitting obstacles almost as if someone is working against them. I really enjoyed the characters in this book (little old southern ladies are the best) and the look into aviation. This couple may have grown up together with ideas of a HEA until a failed prom date but they get a second chance at love as adults if they can stick the landing!

I am not a usual romance reader, but I breezed right through this smoothly written story in one afternoon. Of course, there's romance, but also a fair bit of action and tension, especially toward the latter half of the story, with a surprisingly dramatic ending with a dash of hope.

The author gives a good glimpse into the lives of both a photographer and a pilot with a shared crossover in farming in a typical small-town setting. But I also liked the author's humor, especially in Tricia's gossipy neighbor Beula Mae and the banter between Tricia and Travis.

This story is great for a quick afternoon read on the porch or beach. It is fun for an easy and enjoyable ride.

I was lucky to receive an advance copy, and this is my honest review.

Chloe Holiday delivers another great novella as part of the All American Boy Series. One reason I adore her work is because her characters are always resilient. There’s no shrinking violet waiting for a knight to save her in Holiday’s books. This one was no exception.

Here’s the set up: Tricia Carlisle returns to her hometown of Deacon, TX after the death of her grandmother, only to find her inheritance, Carlisle Orchards, in foreclosure. She wasn’t planning on staying in Deacon; she has a burgeoning photography career in Chicago. But the town grows on her and the longer she stays, the more she wants to save the orchard. Of course, the proximity of the boy who broke her heart has nothing to do with her decision.

Travis Walker has the unearned reputation of being the local bad boy. Only Nana Carlisle understood him and, he once thought, Tricia did too. But now all that’s behind him and he’s only too ready to leave Deacon in the past as well. Once he buys Nana’s crop duster, he’s taking his plane and heading west. The only problem is, he and Nana had a handshake deal and there’s no guarantee Tricia will honor it.

So, I don’t want to get into too many plot details because finding out how both Tricia and Travis overcome their personal and financial obstacles is, of course, the fun of reading the book. Like most of Holiday’s novels, their plans are ingenious and require a tremendous amount of dedication and thinking outside of the box.

But there was something special about this novella. Was it the fabulous supporting characters? I’ve not seen a character deserve his comeuppance more than the baddie in Fly Boy. Beula Mae Jenkins is fabulous. And there’s a spin-off couple that appears in a different All American Boy book - I might have to check that one out.

I gave it a bit of thought as to why this particular Chloe Holiday book resonated with me and I think I put my finger on it - it’s wholesome. If you’re a huge romance fan, please keep reading because I don’t mean boring. I mean wholesome in the same sense as The Love Hypothesis is wholesome. Yes, there’s sex but it’s not slutty romance. The chemistry is intense, obvious, and adorable (so are the baby goats). And that appeals to me. By the end of the book, I found myself teary-eyed at least once and rooting for both Tricia and Travis (to my cat’s continued irritation) at the outcome.

I really hope there’s a spin-off. Deacon, TX grew on me and I’d love to see another story set there (with Beula Mae, of course).

I guess there’s nothing left to do except rate this one 5 stars. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Tricia Carlisle is a rising star in her career as a photographer, but now she's returning to Deacon, TX, after the death of her grandmother, Nanna. Her inheritance, the Carlisle Orchards, is in foreclosure and she has to figure out a way to save it. When she meets with the banker, Connor Deacon, he lets it be known that he is there to "help her." Travis Walker was Tricia's boyfriend until the night he stood her up at the prom. In going home to Deacon, she's going to have to face him and their past. What she doesn't know is that Travis spent prom night in jail and not for a good reason. Their first meeting is certainly "showing, not telling" and it sets the stage for a push and pull that was delightful. Travis and Nana had a handshake deal to sell him the crop duster, Juliet. Nana was only too happy to keep her husband's beloved plane in service with the boy whom she trusted with Tricia. This is a wonderful story of family and reconnection and Trica and Travis work miracles to save Carlisle Orchard.
The narration is beautifully done by Serafina Dare. Her dynamic, well-modulated voice gave each character a unique personality as the story came to life.

This is the first book I have read of this author but not my last. I truly enjoyed this book. Tricia and Travis's relationship was contentious and full of misunderstandings. It was nice to see a couple act mature and really talk out their problems. There was a lot of action and adventure alongside steam and love. The calendar shoot was hilarious. The only drawback was the information concerning the aircraft and everything concerning it. I felt it was way too much information and not something I wanted too much of in a love story.
