After Amanda's parents divorce, Amanda and her mom relocate to a new town. Amanda tries to be cooperative about the move, but her mom won't explain why they're there, or even how she heard of the strange place. As Amanda explores the town and begins to unravel the decades-old disappearances of girls around her age, she starts to fear she's in danger too. With her mom's behavior growing ever more detached and bizarre, will Amanda be able to save them both before it's too late?
⭐4.5/5⭐ I'll take another one like this, please and thank you!
I randomly stumbled upon this while getting rid of some tabs on Safari, I don't remember when I saw it before but it must have intrigued past me to save it and once I finally got around to reading it, I became totally obsessed to read through and finish the rest of the episodes on the Webtoon app. It took me literally two days to finish this and I'm sad it's over. I really enjoyed this style of comic, it was different to what I'm used to and the main characters felt real and relatable, the story was developed in a way that kept me so immersed and on the edge of my seat, I quickly bought a physical version of this book (so thankful that still exists given the webtoon is almost 5 years old I think) and I can't wait to own my own copy soon that's also signed ❤️ My only reason for it not giving it 5 stars is that I wished we got to spent more time with the main characters before stuff got weird but I can understand that the story was intentionally being written that way so it's nothing major. It did kind of dig me out of my reading slump so yeah, go check it out!
Another gem that I got on Kickstarter! First, let me start with how beautiful the art is. I usually don't do and like black and white comics, but this... I felt like this had to be in black and white. It added to the story and worked very well. Second, speaking of the story, the plot and main character were very relatable to me. I felt like I would have done and acted the same way she did. Third, the concept was very intriguing but also quite terrifying and I loved it! I was surprised that this was just part one. I must have forgotten that when I got this on Kickstarter. I hope that I did not miss out on part two, because I really want to know what happens next!
I loved this graphic novel. There were some pretty intense moments that happened in the woods and a creepy man’s basement. The cliffhanger at the end was stellar. Looking forward to book 2!
Kept me hooked the whole way through. The art was incredible and the mystery was so fun to try to untangle (though I didn’t succeed) looking forward to reading the next book!
Got this graphic novel through Kickstart and then didn't get to read it right away. Today was the day, and finished it in one sitting. Loved the plot line, loved the art work and loved the mystery. Kept me holding my breath through the whole story and when I reached the cliffhanger at the end... WOW! Now I have to go investigate how long before book 2 comes out! Hopefully not long. P.S. Read her first book Haunted Serpent (written as Dora M. Mitchell) a few years ago and still waiting on book 2 for that one as well.
