Dragon Firefighters #5

Mannies and Embers

Fire dragon alpha Haru has never been able to leave the past behind. The childhood bond he shared with Aerin, a human omega, has shaped the course of his life, even after the boy’s dragon-fearing parents broke their friendship apart. Haru thought he’d never see his first love again, until fifteen years later, an inferno brings him and his flight of dragon firefighters face-to-face with the omega—and the three dragon children clinging to his side.

With a strong will to nurture those left on the wayside, Aerin is drawn to dragons when most humans would avoid them. Now, just a month after returning to his hometown with two dragon babies and a toddler under his care, Aerin finds his orphanage ablaze and the alpha from his past putting out the flames. Haru offers to take him and the kids in, but with his flight on rocky ground, the other alphas of the group are not too pleased about playing manny to a clutch of hatchlings. Fires are their specialty, not flying babies! But Aerin is determined to help Haru bring the group together—even when their unrequited heat comes simmering back to the surface.

Mannies and Embers is the fifth book in the Dragon Firefighters mpreg series. It expands on characters and the story introduced in the previous books, and while it can be enjoyed as a standalone it’s highly recommended you read the others first. This book features a second chance romance, childhood sweethearts, clueless alphas playing manny to rambunctious dragon babies, a shy toddler learning how to dragon, a mouse-hungry barn owl, brotherhood and loyalty, new alphas and heartwarming reunions, an industrial fantasy setting, minimal drama, and, as always, a happily ever after.

This talented author has written a truly heartwarming MM shifter romance with a sweet second-chance undertone (this book can easily be read as a standalone while being part of the series) The scene descriptions are well-described & there is good world building throughout the plot, and that made it a pleasurable read. The characters (a human male omega, Aerin) & (an alpha male dragon, Haru) are well-developed & interesting with their individual needs & goals in life but they soon realize that what the heart wants cannot be denied. The secondary characters offer good support throughout the storyline.
There is: three rather mischievous orphaned dragon hatchlings (Nova, Juno & Frel), family issues, mates, humor, drama, intrigue, some suspense, mild twists, complications, memories, vulnerability, contentment, love, happiness, steamy scenes & a delightful well-deserved conclusion. I really enjoyed reading each & every fascinating book in this series and would recommend this book & the series.

I loved the story. Aerin and Haru are tender, their childhood love that is reborn with more strength when they meet again. The children of the orphanage make the story even sweeter. While the Baleon brothers and Layne put on humor. I'm looking forward to reading each one's book to see how they deal with an omega.
I recommend it as a gentle reading that will bring a smile to your face.

I voluntarily red and ARC for this book. Another great book by Ashe, I loved meeting more flights and their dynamic being different from the Old Shore Port flight. Watching them grow and interact throughout the book was great. It was also awesome to see some old friends. Can't wait to see what Ashe does next.

Fire Brings True Love Back Together

Haru and Aerin We're best friends as kids until Aerin was forced to move away because his parents did not like dragons and refused to live there. However now it's 15 years later 6 years after Aerin struck out on his own. He refused to be forced to marry human.

Now he has three Dragon children with him. A fire accidentally set by one brings Haru and the others to the rescue putting out the fire. Aerin and them have no where to go while they fix things so they stay at the station which is an old barn.

The guys at first complain but they all pitch in helping with the babies and little boy. They teach them how to fly and skim on fire as well.

Aerin and Haru come back together and it was so wonderful watching that. The barn owl Cinder was awesome as well. They all needed this in the flight. Watching them become a real family was heartwarming.

The sex was hot as well. I gave a four because was hoping for more of a closed ending and that they would adopted the kids themselves. Haven't read others in series but this was great.

I found this under a male pregnancy group on Instagram however there was no actual pregnancy of the two main characters one of the side characters announced that he was pregnant but it didn't show him but a few minutes in this book and then he was gone like three or four pages at the most. But the actual main characters did not get pregnant. Which was another reason I took this off a star.

This is Haru and Aerin's story. If you remember Haru is the best friend of Marin from the last story. He is also a member of the Brandy Oak fireflight. In this book you are introduced to the fireflight of Brandy Oak, with it's leader, Layne, his younger brother Baleon, Marin and now Shen, and Haru. Haru has never left Brandy Oak after falling for his best friend Aerin as a youth. Aerin's parents didn't approve of dragons or of human and dragon's interacting. Aerin was force away with his folks to join the True People a cult of dragon opposers. When Aerin came of age he escaped and traveled the world collecting orphans and helping dragons along the way. He makes his way back to Brandy Oak and opens an orphanage for abandoned dragons. He thinks Haru is long gone from Brandy Oak, but when a fire breaks out of at the orphanage, none other than Haru and his fireflight come to the rescue. I really like these stories. They are great found family connections, and the family keeps growing, and you never really leave any of the characters from the previous books behind. I love the baby/children dragons and the interaction between all the characters.

Absolutely delightful! Haru/dragon and Aerin/human shared a close friendship in the past until Aerin's dragonphobic parents seperated them. When they reunite, Haru's flight is fighting a fire at Aerin's cottage. He had three dragon charges with him. Aerin, was shaped by the cold detached way his parents treated him and becoming a caring, living nurturing caregiver. Haru, offered to put Aerin and the kids up at the firehouse. The other firedragons were wary of being mannies. It was great meeting members of another flight. We met new friends and got reacquainted with old ones. Lots of rebuilding going on. Will everyone be able to get along? Will Haru and Aerin re-establish their relationship? Will the firedragons be able to accept the kids? Will Aerin be able to repair the orphanage? Very nice story. I look forward to Baleon's and Lane's stories. Well done! I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Haru is stuck in the past even as time moves forward, he found the one person he could mate with, but Aerin's parents moved them away because they feared dragons. Now fifteen years later, Haru and his flight brothers go to put out a fire, only to find that it's Aerin's house on fire. Haru and Aerin reconnect while Haru's flight puts out the fire.

As the two start to reconnect, while Aerin and his orphans stay with the flight, they find that the connection they had as kids hasn't gone away; instead, it starts slowly growing as they spend more time together. I enjoyed the book, as well as the various characters. Haru's flight brothers were fun to watch deal with baby dragons. We also saw some of the previous books' couples, which was nice to see how they were doing.

I Love You

Here again is another sweet picture of the Dragons who live to help others, as fate works to bring their very own perfect person. This is true for Aerin and Haru. They were children who were best friends until Aerin, who’s human, parents decided that they didn’t want their son around dragons. So they packed up and left. Years later Aerin returns back to his hometown and runs into Haru. Together they become fast friends again and so much more.
“I love you,” I (Aerin) told him.
“I love you, too,” he (Haru) replied. “I always have and I always will, as long as I still have a fire in my chest.”
This was such a sweet and beautiful moment, it almost had me crying.
Mannies and Embers Book 5 deserves a 5 star ⭐️ rating. Again, it’s an amazing book 💜

Haru attends a fire and is surprised to meet his childhood friend.
Alpha Fire Dragon Haru had grown up on Brandy Oakand was now part of the local flight that fights fire and other jobs where they are needed. Attending a fire at the local dragon orphanage he is shocked to find that it is run by Aerin his childhood friend. Aerin had been his best friend until his parents had forced him to move away to a True People commune where they shun all things dragon and had tried to indoctrinate Aerin against the evil they considered dragons.

Haru and Aerin grew up together and had love for one another. They were good friends, despite the fact that Aerin's family did not trust or embrace dragons. They move away and the friends are separated for several years only to meet again when Haru's flight fights a fire at the orphanage for dragon children that Aerin is working at. Though a human omega he has always had an affinity for dragons and one especially. Haru's flight needs to work on their station, they are in build mode but still he takes in Aerin and the children and together they all grow and become community while Haru and Aerin find their way to one another for keeps.
I received an ARC for an honest review.

Sweet and endearing

I’ve been ripping through Ashe’s books, and they are an east and fun read. Simple story lines, a little drama, some good humor, but overall feel good stories with a happily ever after. His books remind me of Hallmark movies, whereas there is some level of predictability, but I like the whole dragon shifter genre. Since I am only through half the series, I wonder if there is a future story for Frel, Oli, Delia, and all the babies. Might be a good splinter group to write about. I mean, Delia would not be a MM story, but maybe an honorable mention. Maybe she mates with a dragon or becomes Captain of the Watch. Keep up the writing, Ashe!

A Second Chance For Childhood Lovers

Haru and Aerin had been been close childhood friends until Aerin's parents took him away. Years later, they are reunited when the orphanage catches fire and Haru's fire flight responds. Other than the fire, there isn't any other real drama. Haru and Aerin find it difficult to stay apart now that the have found each other again. The story mainly deals with the backgrounds and relationships of the characters, presumably setting up future additions to the series.

Pretty good

Let me start by saying that I haven't read any of the previous books in this series and don't think that I missed anything needed for this story. I believe that the other books mostly center on the other group of dragons.

I liked this well enough. I would like more time with the characters and to see what happens with the kids, but I'm going to assume assume if that will be covered in a subsequent book.

Sweet

Although this is a continuation of the series, this is set in a new location with a new but related group, so kind of a spin off or crossover. With the previous book being the connection between the two groups.

I loved this romance arc, two adolescent best friends seperated by parental prejudices find each other 16 years later. There was much more to the book as it set up the new "flight" and developed the characters.

This was another one that didn't really grab me. It might be because we didn't really get to spend a lot of time with Haru yet in the other books so I wasn't really attached to him? I'm not extremely attached to any of them, but this felt just meh to me. The MCs story was very heartwarming but I felt like there were some holes that could have been filled. I guess I'm just reading to finish the series at this point.

LOST LOVES FOUND!!

DRAGON FIREFIGHTERS Book #5 is everything I love. Shifters, Second Chance Romance and lost loves found. Haru has found his childhood best friend. Aerin had to return to his first real home. Finding Haru was a dream come true. ASHE MOON has created a place I can not get enough of. These dragons are fun, snarky, and big ole softies. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK AND THIS INCREDIBLE DRAGON FIREFIGHTERS SERIES!!!!!!!

This was an average installment. Not the best in the series. But not the worst either. The main characters were estranged for many years and reunited by a tragic event. It was a bit boring after the intro though. I kept waiting for Aerin's human family to pop up and try to kidnap him, or something...anything... else to happen to livin' up the plot, but nope. Basically insta love, zero angst and zero plot twists.

M/M || Dragon Shifter Alpha X Human Omega || Childhood Friends || Reunion || First Love || Orphanage || Children

Aerin and Haru meet again after sixteen years when Aerin’s orphanage burns down and he is left to care for two babies and a little boy.

I feel like this had the least character development so far. They both were very forgettable and I swear, I just put the book down and I had to think for some time what their names even were. But it was cosy and sweet so I liked it anyways.

Haru & Aerin

The 5th book in the ‘Dragon Firefighters’ series was a very sweet reunion of two lost loves that eventually found each other again. The Brandy Oak flight wasn’t a very cohesive unit at the start & watching them come together was as sweet as watching Haru & Aerin kindle something completely new for themselves. I wasn’t ready for it to end. I am def a fan of Ashe Moon’s work.

I didn't want it to end!

The only downfall is I could have kept on reading. Expanded the story (yes, I'm greedy!!) By like 300 more pages (haha... I can wish!).
The last few chapters were amazing. The entire book made me smile. My only hope is the orphans become part of the flight forever!!

I absolutely love this series.

Second chances

A beautiful second chance at love. This one was my favorite. Being forced to separate as young kids, when one moves away, love finds away when they are reunited and love blooms. I was left breathless many times by their love and fight for what they believed in. HEA that was just perfect

Haru and Aerin are the epitome of "meant to be together"! Their love story started the moment they met when they were just kids and it was simply a matter of time before they found their way back to each other. A love so pure and untainted by time that nothing can get in its way, their story was a great read that will surely come back to in time!
