Like two ships…
Four years ago, Nora and Chad were strangers. Each fleeing family drama, they met on a remote beach in the Hamptons, shared a drink, their frustrations, and their dreams.

Without exchanging contact information, Nora slipped away, convinced that Chad wouldn’t see her the same in the light of day. Meanwhile, Chad can’t forget Nora. He’s been searching for her ever since.

But what goes around, comes around…
Just when Chad is about to give up the search and devote himself solely to the family diamond business, his interfering, matchmaking grandmother hires him a health coach – Nora. Now they both have a second chance to turn one night into something that can last forever.

If you enjoy reunion romances like Serendipity and Sweet Home Alabama, you’ll enjoy this full-length, HEA romcom.

Prior to writing romance, award-winning, USA Today Bestseller Melinda Curtis was a junior manager for a Fortune 500 company, which meant when she flew on the private jet she was relegated to the jump seat—otherwise known as the potty. After grabbing her pen (and a parachute) she made the jump to full-time writer. Between writing sweet romance and sweet romantic comedy, Melinda finds time to bond with her husband over home remodeling projects. She recently came to grips with the fact that she’s an empty nester and a grandma, concepts easier to grasp than jet-setting on a potty.

I enjoy sweet Grandma Dotty books and this was a great continuation of the series. She is always a fun character to read about. Her antics keep everyone on their toes!
The story is very enjoyable and is a cute matchmaker story, and you know who the matchmaker is! This was a fun contemporary romcom! I loved it.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. All thoughts are my own.

The story of Chad Summer and Nora Flores is a charming second chance romance. Having met at the beach in the Hamptons, Chad and Nora lost contact with each other until Nora comes into Chad’s life again as his new health coach. I loved the interaction between these two quirky characters, but I especially loved the character of Grandma Dottie, an elderly busybody intent on having a great-grandchild before she dies. The family background of the two lovers is interesting but it isn’t what makes the story. The story is a familiar one told in an original and witty way that held me captivated from beginning to end. I love a good happily ever after and when it comes with humor throughout and interfering family members, all the better! Fans of light romance will enjoy this book that can be read as a standalone even though it is part of the Summer Kisses series.

Awfull. Like the most interesting part (the annonymous meeting) is not included. They spend a whole book dancing around eachother not talking for no reason but kissing because of "overwhelming attraction" that one can not feel and getting angry at eachother for absolutely no reason while being managed and bossed around by their family which is something they still cant handle at like 30 something. and all ends well.

It Happened One Night, #5 - This is a fun series and I only read two books. I love Grandma Dotty, she is filled with a lot of personality. Her grandsons and rest of the characters were almost as much fun. Good story lines filled with love, a misunderstanding, a secret and another another chance. 5*

Summer Kisses:
A Kiss Is Just A Kiss, #1 - This was a lot of fun to read. For once a guy takes care of a woman, and her dotty grandmother, without terrible, disrespectful treatment from the woman. A misunderstanding stops a wedding and saves three people. 5*
Summer Kisses end.

Love in Harmony Valley:
Dandelion Wishes, #1 - A sweet romance mixed with plenty of drama along with good characters, interesting story lines and a gamut of emotions. Love. Friendship. Forgiveness. The ability to accept and make changes. A bit on the intense side with the healing, the recognitions and the drama but a good story. 4*

A Small Town Second Chance, #2 - Now it's Flynn and Becca's story. This was a bit sad for me the end. The epilogue should have been included since it was so happy. Wonderful characters, huggable and likeable. Good story lines, too. 4*

A New Beginning in a Small Town, #3 - This book is all about new beginnings for many. Slade is a deep character caught in his own darkness, and his mind. Add the rest of the townspeople, his friends and his love interest to this well written story and you have a hard to put down story. 5*
Love in Harmony Valley end.

I really enjoyed this book and now we have the awesome Grandma Dotty matchmaking her grandsons. She’s starting with Chad (given name Chadwick), and she calls him Whiskers, which at first, I thought was an odd nickname but then when you find out why, it makes all the sense and is in a way, touching. Chad actually met ‘the one’ and they shared their secret frustrations with their families and their lives, they spent the night together but just exchanged pictures no names. After Chad has a health issue and Grandma Dotty decides they both need a health coach, guess who enters the picture, other than ‘the one’ also known as Nora. Loved how he knew that they had met before, but she did not want to go there until he confronted her and realized it is her. After a comedy of errors which of course Grandma Dotty is leading the charge on including the fact that they ‘think’ that they have a child together and unfortunately finding out who her mother is which she never wanted to happen. Unfortunately, things are said, and their tenuous friendship/relationship is over before it even gets going. But Chad’s family comes together to yes rib him but also helps him put a plan together to win her back. Will it work, we’ll have to see. Really enjoyed the ending to the book. Can’t wait for the next story.

Grandma Dotty is always entertaining. She has decided that she needs great-grandchildren and started working on one of her grandsons. She learned how to put his name on a dating site and how to swipe right. Chad is going to be a challenge. All he does is work. He rarely eats or sleeps and one day it all catches up with him. Grandma Dotty decides to hire a someone to help her and Chad eat healthier and live a healthier lifestyle. When Chad sees Nora, he knows that he has met her before but can seem to place her. Nora and Chad shared a magical night years ago, but Nora ran out before he could even get her name. Nora has been dealing with her semi-famous mother and her shenanigans for years. Chad has been dealing with his father's disapproval for years. Can they break out of the mold? Nora doesn't trust anything that doesn't take time or work so when she and Chad reconnect, she can't trust that he might really love her. It's too soon. Chad has spent four years looking for Nora and he won't give her up again.

It Happened One Night is the fifth in the Summer Kisses series but can be read as a stand alone however I suggest reading the other stories just so you can have more laughs with Grandma Dotty. This is a story of two people who find a connection during a chance meeting in the Hamptons while discussing the drama and frustrations of dealing with their respective family members. They don't share their names but have one hot, steamy night and by morning, Nora runs away because she believes nothing can come of their connection. Chad has spent the last four years trying to find his mystery woman but after a health scare his grandmother hires a health coach for him and her. Nora instantly recognizes Chad but it takes him a little while and when he does, he hopes for a second chance at a relationship but family and misunderstandings threaten their budding attraction. Grandma Dotty as always makes life interesting and funny with her antics. This a funny, enjoyable story with laugh out loud moments that will keep you reading until the last page.

I received an advanced reader copy from the publisher but all thoughts and feelings are my own.

I received a free copy of the new York set novel It Happened One Night: The Summer Diamonds Series Book 1 By Melinda Curtis and this review was given freely.

Attraction, determination, and reduced self-esteem, combined with moments of humor and realistic characters make this an enjoyable story and a good introduction to the series.

While meddlesome and unfiltered Grandma Dotty tries to find wives for her grandsons, she inadvertently hires the woman her grandson Chadwick “Whiskers” Summer, overworked and underappreciated Summer Diamond company CEO hopeful, the woman he has been searching for for over four years, health coach and reluctant daughter of a minor self-absorbed celebrity, Nora Flores.

It Happened One Night by Melinda Curtis is book #5 in the Summer Kisses series. Grandma Dotty (Dorothy Summer) rides again! In this book we get to be entertained by Grandma Dotty matchmaking her grandson Chad with fitness trainer Nora Flores. All I need to see is Grandma Dotty involved in one of this author's stories and it is a "Must Read" for me. In this book Grandma Dotty is working on a match because she is determined to be a great grandmother before her faculties decline. This book was so much fun to read. I really like the two main characters, grandson Chad, "Whiskers" to Grandma Dotty and Nora. I felt like theses two could be my friends. Melinda Curtis fans are going to love this book!

I received an ARC and this is my honest review.

Yeah, another story featuring kooky Grandma Dotty. This time the author is concentrating on a family of five brothers. Chad is the eldest, the responsible one, the one who fell for a girl without knowing her name, and who disappeared on him after they spent the night together. Nora is tired of people looking at her and seeing her mother and she runs before Chad can reject her. Four years later they are brought together by Grandma Dotty. Chad thinks he now has a chance with Nora but a misapprehension may destroy all his efforts….

Audiobook: I was entertained by the fifth book in the "Summer Kisses" series, but I thought it lacked some of the humor found in the earlier books. In the preceding stories, Grandma Dotty's antics have tickled my funny bone, but she played a more passive role in this story than the others. Chad's and Nora's romance had some sweet and memorable moments. This audiobook was narrated by AI. It was with this narration that I realized that the digital narration can be furnished by a different AI, and I found that this AI was tolerable. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.

Loved this story – mostly because of Grandma Dotty! She has been in other books and she is just as off the wall in this one. She sets the tone for Chadwick’s (Chad) and Nora’s story and she does it without even trying. Nora and Chad are great characters – individually they are hurting. To me, they are so afraid to trust in themselves that having faith in someone else is out of the question. Eventually they stumble through working things out but all the characters around them learn a thing or two as well. But these two are perfect for one another. Really enjoyed this book.

Loved this book from beginning to end. When Chad Summer tried to prove his worth wishing the family company it nearly caused his health in jeopardy. That’s when Grandma Dotty came in. She was going to watch out for him. Oh boy did she make me laugh. It was a serious matter with all the stress Chad was under. Grandma Dotty had it under control. What she did next was get a health coach. But Chad felt something familiar about this women. He knew her, but didn’t let on just yet.

A must read book. So much more to come.

This was such a cute little story! I've only read two in "the kissing test" series, and both have been memorable. I love Grandma Dotty! Got to love her matchmaking shenanigans!!!

This story is about Nora Flores (health coach) and Chad Summers (you know of Summer's diamonds...) they met one night in the Hamptons, and in the morning, she vanished. Read this adorable story to find out what happens next!!!

Second chances can happen when you least expect it. Nora Flores met Chad Hampton in the Hampton’s four years ago. They confided to each other about their lives and had a one-night stand. She left and Chad tried to find her. He thinks she’s his soulmate. Nora knew that they can’t ever be together because of his background and her mother always wanting to be in the limelight since she’s the Scream Queen. Nora always wanted to be just herself, not her mother’s daughter. She’s always compared to her mother. Or people only want to get to her mother through Nora.
Now grandma Dottie hires her to help as a health coach. She and Chad needs it. Chad hasn’t slept or ate properly since his dad went on vacation, trying to run their family business. Chad wants to show his dad that he’s capable of running the business once his dad retires. He tries so much but feels unappreciated. Chad meets Nora, she’s disgusted and thinks she looks familiar. Once he realizes that she’s the woman he met years ago, he finally has a chance to make it right. Will they get the chance? So much problems come with Nora and her mother, who have a difficult relationship. She feels her mother never was there for her. Can Chad make her see she’s the one for him? Will Nora finally realize that he’s her soulmate? With the help of his family and grandma Dottie, will he succeed? Second chances, a loving grandmother and family. Love the characters. I received this book for my honest review. Worth the read. Melinda Curtis always brings it

Great addition to the Summer Kisses series! A huge part of why I am enjoying this series so much is Grandma Dotty. She has a big part in this book and that makes me so happy! I adore when a story has a character of the older population and Grandma Dotty is in each book in this series. While she might be old, she certainly does not act that way and usually creates bit of chaos along with some good results from her well intended plans.

This book is the story of Nora and Chad. They met about 4 years ago and they definitely had a spark of attraction and it left an impact on both of them. Now years later their path cross again. It was a fun book to read. Since this is a romance, I know all will end well, so I can read and enjoy the bumps along the road and not stress about the obstacles they must overcome.

I hope there will be more books in this series. I don't want to say goodbye to Grandma Dotty!

Grandma Dottie is at it again, and this she's has a bucket list. She's on a mission to get her grandson married. The only thing he's looking for is the girl he met four years ago and hasn't been able to forget. Could he possibly find her again? This is a fun read about lost love reconnected. I enjoyed reading Chad and Nora's story.

Third time's the charm indeed

Scream queen. Mistaken child identity. One night stand. THREE separate meet-cutes for the same couple. Romance galore. Diamonds. Health scare. Family drama. Family. Love. Misunderstandings. Love.

And Grandma Dotty.

Mix them all together and what do you get? A sweet HEA for Chad and Nora. :)

Such a sweet story about finding love one night and then losing it but looking for years for that special someone you fell for. Grandma Dotty contributes to the fun side of the story while always putting her 2 cents in. Chad and Nora have to work to get their relationship on track but in ways that are common to us all.

I can’t wait for the next Grandma Dotty adventure!!

Cute, and filled with family drama. I liked watching Nora and Chad both set healthier boundaries with their family members. It was hard for me to get behind a romance that started with a one night stand.
