Being a single father in witness protection isn’t ideal, but it’s the only option to keep the baby I technically stole safe. Staying hidden is simple until the night I beat down the door of the only doctor in town, demanding help, and I meet the woman who changes everything. I’m danger and violence; she’s innocent and caring. I’ll corrupt her, and potentially bring the threat of the MC after me to her doorstep. Too bad for Dr. Caradee Blacksmith, I’m too selfish to care. Because I want her no matter the risk.
Caradee
I should be terrified of the massive stranger with tattoos covering every inch of skin and penetrating gray eyes that conjure dirty thoughts I have no right to think. But there’s a sick baby in his arms. He’s not what I expect, throwing my perfectly controlled life into a type of chaos I had no idea I needed. He’s everything I never knew I wanted, making me feel alive with every flaming touch.
But when men who look like him come to town wearing leather vests with hate and violence behind their eyes, I have to decide if this new way of living is one I’ll fight for or if I’ll turn my back on the man who showed me how amazing it is to be obsessively loved.

Hidden by the Doctor is the 4th installment in the In Clear Sight series by Kennedy Mitchell. It is a complete standalone, but best enjoyed when read in series order. It is told in first person, from dual perspective. This time it's Dr. Caradee Blacksmith's turn for a happy ending in the town of Grandger, TX, a super small rural community that is used by the government to hide people in WITSEC. It is a great redemption story for a man named Miller who left his MC life as a 1%er behind in order to save a child and become her father and the man she needs him to be.
I really enjoyed it! Hidden by the Doctor is well written and super fast paced. I loved that Miller and Caradee seemed to be opposites with nothing in common on the surface (one's a high school dropout and the other, a physician), but find commonality in the trauma of their childhoods. The chemistry between them is fantastic and their smexy times, super hot. I enjoyed seeing our favorite characters from past books and met a couple of new characters I hope to see again in the future. I'm really hoping Stetson gets his own book as well!
3.5⭐ [I received a digital arc for an honest review] Hidden by the Doctor is the 4th book in the In Clear Sights series by Kennedy L Mitchell. If you're new to the series you can enjoy this as a standalone, but if you've read the previous books you'll see the previous couples as a supporting cast.
Miller was born into the life of an MC and if it wasn't for his sister he would have left a long time ago. When his father takes it a step too far for even him, he saves an innocent babies life and turns to the feds for protection. The small town of Grandger is just a pit stop for him and little Carlie, but when she becomes sick he turns to the local doctor, Caradee. The moment they meet it's lust at first sight and the two don't ignore the connection. Very quickly, they both become attached and create a little family unit. But Miller's father won't let him get away that easily and both Caradee and Carlie lives are at stake. I wasn't a good man. But these two made me feel like my past was just that. And they were my entire future.
Caradee is a layered character who carries guilt and so many insecurities from her childhood. Miller is rough and brash and more than a little rough around the edges. He's definitely not a good guy but he has all the love for little Carlie and Caradee. His care and tenderness towards the baby was precious. Miller and Caradee's relationship is faced paced, it gets hot and heavy at their first interaction. There's no shortage of dirty talk and Miller doesn't soften himself for Caradee in the bedroom but she has no problem it.
The story itself is a filled with lots of intimate scenes between Miller and Caradee. When they aren't getting down and dirty, we are introduced to what made Caradee the way she is. The ending escalates big time with a life and death situation for our MCs but is wrapped up pretty quickly. Wrapping up with a satisfying ending for our leads and enough outside character curiosities that could lead to future books.
Overall, Hidden by the Doctor was another enjoyable romantic suspense by Kenny L Mitchell. A fresh start for a criminal and a small town doctor who dreams of a family to love. Filled with a sweet baby, fast-paced love, high steam, danger, violence, and a connection worth protecting.
This is book 4 in Kennedy L Mitchell’s In Clear Sight series. These are best enjoyed in order, starting with Guarded by the Marshal.
DNF @ 25%.
I get that this is fiction… but I need a little bit more realism to be able to enjoy the story.
Potentially spoilerish reasons this isn’t working for me:
Miller finds 3mo old baby he’s never seen before and he’s completely unrelated to at crime scene and the US Marshal’s just let him keep her… because he wants to?
Miller has a new name & has been admonished not to have any ties with past life, but names the baby after his mother. A name his father, who is after him, would easily know.
Marshal’s are now placing 4th WITSEC in same small town and no one is very good at keeping a secret. Miller hates his WITSEC name so Marshal says, “We’ll use your real name in private”. Private apparently being every one he comes in contact with.
Miller is so worried about how sick Carlie (baby) is that he bangs on Doctor’s door in middle of the night demanding she be seen immediately and then proceeds to spend the entire “exam” internally monologuing about all the ways he’s going to have sex with Caradee.
Caradee is so worried about baby’s cough that she invites Miller to spend the night for observation and then immediately propositions him.
At this point I’m giving up.
CW (up to the point where I stopped): necrophilia by a secondary character, cheating against a MC by an ex, emotionally abusive family (both MCs), physically abusive family
I have been waiting for Caradee's story and it did not disappoint. I loved it from start to finish. Miller might just be my favorite hero of this series. I loved him so much and loved his protectiveness over his daughter. I was hooked from the beginning and I couldn't put it down. If you're looking for an action packed romantic suspense, look no further!
Hello Miller! I love romantic suspense and KLM writes some amazing stories in this trope!
Hidden by the Doctor is book 4 in this series. Miller finds himself finally fed up with the MC his father is president of and turns over to the FBI, with a baby in tow. While hiding out in a small Texas town he finds Caradee, the local doctor.
These two quickly formed a bond and when baby makes 3 Caradee's dreams of family start to look like it just might happen. I loved that Miller made her more confident in herself. Caradee's past relationships in family and boyfriends tore her down and Miller put her back on the pedestal she belongs on. Miller grew up in a hard life and seeing him with such a soft spot for this baby was a great part of this story. I love this little town and all of it's in habitants. Glad these three will continue to call it home too!
I loved Cara and Miller! They both are coming from situations that were a struggle, but the way the come together is pure magic! The Insta love between the dirty bad boy, with a heart of gold and the fragile doctor is sweet and hot.
Awesome book in this series. Caradee and millers story was great! There were times I almost cried but it was worth it in the end. Great book I highly recommend!
Kennedy L Mitchell is one of my top romantic suspense authors, that’s a lot of pressure and with Hidden by the Doctor she absolutely lived up to every expectation! The book had me in its grip from the very first page. The prologue was super intense and you almost lived through what happened there. And it wasn’t good. Then this terrible man you meet, this MC heir goes and…. enters the witness protection program as a single father. Picture this big bad ass tattoed dude with a newborn. Yeah, you understand doctor Caradee Blacksmith now, like she’s been your bestie from kindergarden. This book is dripping in steam, and when you get a look inside the heart of this big bad biker, you cannot help but fall in love with him. He makes Caradee own up to all her insecurities and bagage and he just takes it all from her and helps her through it. Also, there is a small tiny breeding kink… and we looooove those The story of the suspense is really great, I love how, with this series, she picks a different type of person to enter the witness program with a very different background.
This story is action packed, filled with sweet tender romance, cover in a hot and steamy outside. A full five stars for me, well earned!
Oh hell, this book had me hooked from start to finish, perfect addition and ending to the Clear Sight series.
Miller, growing up in the motorcycle club hadn't been easy but he did everything he could to distance himself from them, and in turn it made him unaware of the things that the club was involved in. But when he gets ordered to do something from the president of the club(also his father), something that's horrifying, he needs to make a decision, and that decision is instant when he sees baby Carlie, and his life changes.
Caradee, hasn't had it easy growing up, but promised herself that she will be better. She had dreams, but when her ex boyfriend crushed them, she returned to her small town and opened up her own clinic.
Miller and Caradee, set these pages on fire from the beginning, the love that Miller had for Carlie and his protectiveness in making sure she was safe was beautiful, there was some miscommunication between the main characters at times but loved that it was sorted out pretty quickly, the development of Miller and Caradee relationship was amazing, and the strength he gave her by just being in her life/side was amazing.
This book was an absolute page turner, steamy as f*** moments, adorable moments with baby Carlie and of course it had what the f*** moments that left me on edge till that amazing ending ♥️
𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬
Loved catching up with the characters from the previous books. Would have loved more of Shade and Trap in this one, but the banter between Miller, Max and Grayson...awesome 😂
A Gripping & Steamy Romantic Suspense! Terrific Story & Narration🎧
Hidden by the Doctor In Clear Sight, Book 4 By: Kennedy L. Mitchell Narrated by: Cecily Foster, Bryant Walker
Kennedy L. Mitchell pens another terrific novel set in her “In Clear Site” series and it is an intense one. Miller, a son of an outlaw motorcycle club president who is being groomed to be his V.P. has had enough of the depravity. The job his father sent him and another member on was all wrong, and he opted to save an innocent, then go back to grab his sister before going to the feds to spill all the information he has on the club and three affiliations. Arrests were made, and they put him and Carlie, his baby girl, into witness protection,, taking them to that special small town in Texas, Grandger, where others have hidden out during ongoing trials. When the baby gets sick, he goes to the doctor’s office in the middle of the night. Dr. Caradee Blacksmith opened her practice in town, and tries to look after her mother, who has issues. She was having her own pity party when a stranger bangs on her door in the middle of the night. Caradee was reluctant to open the door, but the stranger was holding a baby. She takes care of Carlie, and wants to monitor her overnight, but Miller would not leave her there so he stays too. There was an instant attraction between them, and when she wants to forget her ex, he was happy to give her what she wants and then some. I thought these two were great together and for each other. He was great with her about her insecurities and self worth issues, supporting her, encouraging her to rid of them. Max, who helped him settle in warned him, about getting involved with a local, that it could bring danger to her door, but that warning did not stop him from seeing her, which he regretted because his past came back to haunt him, It was great to see the characters from the earlier books pitch in to help, I was worried they would not get there in time. There is never a dull moment in this book, the story is cleverly plotted with plenty of drama, angst, action, thrilling suspense, heartfelt emotions and steamy romance. There are some intense moments, some gut-wenching ones, too. Kennedy L. Mitchell, thank you for another great story and wild ride.
🎧📚🎧 Cecily Foster and Bryant Walker did a fantastic job bring the characters to life and did so with a complete understanding of who they were portraying, giving each a voice that was fitting and believable. Foster nailed it as Caradee, grasping every side of her personality, from her insecurities to her strength. Walker was just as amazing as Miller, an alpha bad boy who was not afraid to show his caring side. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling each one. These two made a great team, their voices and performance complemented either other and they elevated this story to another level. Thank you for another great listen.
4.25stars— HIDDEN BY THE DOCTOR is the fourth instalment in Kennedy L Mitchell’s contemporary, adult, IN CLEAR SIGHT erotic, romantic suspense series focusing on Grandger Texas, and a small community of people living in the WITSEC program. This is former MC member Miller, and doctor Caradee Blacksmith’s story line.
NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise including violence, murder and strong language, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Miller and Caradee) HIDDEN BY THE DOCTOR follows Miller in the aftermath of a massacre between rival MCs. On the order of his MC president aka his father, Miller found himself at a crossroads when he discovered he was being tested and his assignment was to kill every man, woman and child but upon his arrival, everyone was already dead, and the only survivor was an infant child, a child Miller knew he had to save. In the WITSEC program for turning evidence against his former MC and his father, Miller and baby Carlie were now in Grandger Texas, where Miller would come face to face with Dr. Caradee Blacksmith, the woman with whom Miller would fall in love. As Miller and Carlie navigated the ins and outs of their new relationship, Miller knew it was only a matter of time before his past discovered his whereabouts, threatening the woman with whom he was falling in love. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Miller and Caradee, and the potential fall-out as the Blazing Skulls MC sets their sights on our story line couple.
The relationship between Miller and Caradee is one of immediate attraction but neither one is in any position to start something new. Caradee continues to struggle with a lifetime of betrayal, and Miller needs to protect the small child he has claimed as his own but time spent together felt like the family both had been missing, a family that was about to be destroyed in an act of betrayal and vengeance. The $ex scene are intimate, erotic and aggressive but I dislike the liberal use of a certain four-letter word throughout the story.
The secondary and supporting characters include several members of the Blazing Skulls MC-the prez, Stetson and Beast). We are reintroduced to Max and Rachel (Guarded by the Officer 1), Grayson and Anne (Cherished by the Agent 2), Shade, Trap and Georgia (Saved by the Officers 3)l Caradee’s mother, baby Carlie, and Caradee’s ex fiancé Kurt.
HIDDEN BY THE DOCTOR is a story of power and control, murder and madness, acceptance and love. The fast paced premise is gripping and riveting; the characters are determined and energetic; the romance is seductive and provocative.
My only complaint is the whereabouts and condition of two secondary characters including Stetson and Miller’s sister Megan.
I read the first three books straight after each other back in January and wasn't expecting another book in the series lol! I then discovered at the end of the third book that this book was releasing, so I patiently waited and grabbed a copy as soon as it released! After reading, I can say that I enjoyed this book a lot! The plot developed at the perfect pace and it only took me a few sittings to read because I wanted to find out what was going to happen next! There was a lot of romance in the plot and it allowed for a lot of sexual tension and some streamy scenes between the two main characters! There was also some action and suspense, which added a lot to the plot and made me enjoy it more as it played a big part of the plot! The characters were also amazing and made this book even better! Caradee was the main female character, and in this book I had a lot of respect for her because she ran her own doctor’s practice on her own and she was dealing with a lot! Caradee was very smart and she tried her best though and she got the family that she had always wanted in this book! Miller was the main male character and love interest of Caradee! Miller was a guy that was dangerous and tough on the outside, but he was really a big teddy bear inside which was evident when it came to a child he was looking after and Caradee! He also wanted out of the MC lifestyle! I loved Miller with Coradee and he was protective of her and didn't want his world to touch her! This book was written from both Caradee and Miller’s point of views, which I was expecting! The synopsis gives the impression that it’s going to be written this way and the other books were all written from both characters point of views! I loved that it was because it helped me connect more with Caradee and Miller and see how their feelings for each other grow and how they were dealing with everything! It allowed for more things to happen in the plot as well, which helps as the characters went through some situations separately! I now can’t wait to read the next book in this series! I can’t find much information on it, but I know that it's going to focus on secondary characters in a new town and there was potential for a few characters in this book to have their own stories! I can’t ask to find out more information about it and I’ll definitely be reading it as soon as it releases! I love the cover for this book a lot! It matches the other covers in the series brilliantly and would draw me to the book if I didn't already know about the series! The cover model is also the perfect Miller!
“The life we were born into was by chance, but what we made it was all up to us.”
Hidden By The Doctor was a fast-paced, steamy and suspenseful read that will have you falling for Miller, baby Carlie and Caradee. From the moment Miller and Caradee meet, sparks fly and they don’t stop igniting until the last page.
“She saw me for who I knew I was, who I wanted to be, not what I did in the past.”
Miller proclaims himself to be a very bad man, but underneath his rough exterior beats the heart of a man that wants to be better. He’s dirty-talking, possessive, and the ultimate alpha male, but he’s also gentle and sweet and so protective of those that he cares about.
“The emotions Miller excavated from deep in my soul were raw, unused, and amazing. How had I allowed myself to barely live, only the steady beat of my heart proof of my existence?”
Caradee has just been trying to project the image of the perfect woman who has everything all together, but underneath, she’s a mess. Her hearts been broken and she’s struggling with her past. When she meets Miller, he helps her discover the strength to stand up for herself and to find the inner resolve that has always been hidden within her.
“Every moment with that woman was like finally taking a full breath. She healed the rotten pieces of my soul in a way no one had before.”
These two were smoking hot from their very first interaction. I loved how in-sync they were with each other and how they instantly realized that they could let down their guard with each other. They believed in one another unconditionally.
“You’re my reason for getting up in the morning, for breathing, for wanting more from life than what I ever thought was possible. You’re my everything.”
Full of heartstopping suspense, off-the-charts steam, a possessive hero with a dirty mouth, and a sweet but sassy heroine, Hidden By The Doctor is a gripping and exciting addition to the In Clear Sight series. Miller and Caradee have an intense relationship that goes from zero to sixty but yet it’s also sweet and so full of love. The end of the story will have you on the edge of your seat and was a fantastic finish to this great story.
#RomanticSuspense #MC #SingleDad #Small Town #ARC Book four in this series is the first one I have read. It absolutely stands alone, though characters from previous books play a role and there may be spoilers to their stories in this book. Hidden by the Doctor is written in first person from an alternating dual POV and ends with a HEA. Miller is a morally gray hero who has been raised in a MC by a violent and vicious father who has been preparing him to become the VP to his Prez role. He has seen and done many things and never questioned them until he finds out the latest thing his club is involved in. He knows that the only way out is death: until one fateful night changes everything. Caradee is a family practice doctor in the small town of Grandger. Returning to her small hometown was not what she had planned, yet here she is. She is still mourning the life she thought she would have and reconciling the life that is when she meets Miller and his baby girl. Nothing will ever be the same again. I love Miller’s dirty mouth. I adore how he helps Caradee become more confident and secure in who she is. His protective nature and actions to protect Carlie and Caradee are ovary-melting. To read the big, tatted dude be so incredibly gentle with the baby and facing all the struggles a person faces as a new parent: really something special. The heat and physically intimate scenes between Miller and Caradee are five alarm hot! There are moments of danger and suspense before they get to their HEA. The prologue is a violent and intense read. Readers should be cautioned by the trigger warnings when deciding if this book is for them. I was absolutely hooked. I couldn’t put it down. I loved everything and now I need to go back and read the others. They have been on my list but now they are definitely moved up toward the top. TW: Attempted SA, kidnapping, numerous detailed intimate scenes, crass language and violence. I am voluntarily leaving this honest review after receiving an advance reader copy of the book.
OH MY goodness does Kennedy really know how to pull readers in. I was hooked from page one and I did not want to put my Kindle down and I read waayyyy past my bedtime! I can’t even be mad because Caradee and Miller were so phenomenal. We have gotten to know Caradee the town doctor in previous books in this series, and she is always there doing everything for people. Caradee has the kindest heart but that leaves her open to having her stomped on and taken advantage of. I do love how she learns to stand up for herself and put people in her place, but still doesn’t lose that sweetness that she has. But I think what I loved most about her character is how hard determined and smart she is. She knows what wants and she is working hard for it. Miller never really had a choice in his life, but he really wanted one. When fate stepped in and gave him the opportunity to make a better life for himself and a baby he ran head first into it. He really put Carlie, his daughter first and which put him outside of his comfort zone but he did it because it needed to be done. This gruff on the outside man is not at all what people would think of just by looking at him (side note; this cover model is PERFECTION and exactly the way I picture Miller). Caradee and Miller’s meet cute is epic and adorable. From the moment their eyes landed on each other there was a palpable chemistry that burned up the pages. Kennedy L. Mitchell brought the spice to this one, but perfectly balanced it with building a friendship and bond that can withstand the demands of both of their jobs and pasts. Miller worked hard to show Caradee her worth and remind her of just how amazing and badass she is. He stood back and let her shine. But would tear down earth if tried to keep them apart. If you love small towns, amazing found family, swoony single dads, and suspense all wrapped into a book this should be your next read! Another amazing book by Kennedy…..can’t wait for the next one!
This is the fourth installment of the In Clear Sight Series and I think they just keep getting better and better. The WITSEC program in Grandger, Texas seems to have a problem, the witnesses never end up leaving, they start their new life right where they landed.
Miller was certain his only way out of the MC he was born into was by death. When he found himself in a position to do better and save an helpless baby have more of a life than he did. Turning in his MC, his father the "Prez" and all the horrible things they have been doing. Now he finds himself a single dad with no baby experience, hidding in the WITSEC program, trying to get his sister rehabbed so she can have a better life as well.
Doctor Caradee likes to portray the straight laced, organized and well adjusted individual she want her patients to know. But she has some pain and hurt from the past that still has a pretty strong hold on her. Growing up with a mother that worked two jobs so they could almost survive. Thanks to the townsfolk of their little town who helped pick up the missing pieces. She worked her butt off to become a doctor and not live the same life.
Caradee is longing for a family. A child to raise with love and safety, a husband to love her in return. When she meets Miller "Dave" in his moment of chrisis with baby Carlie, the sparks fly. They have a hard time focusing on the poor sick baby. Will Caradee drop her walls and put herself out their for a broken heart all over again? Before they know it they are spending all their free time together and living almost like that family she dreams about. Miller helps Caradee step out of the hurts of the past and shows her she is a strong woman who can do whatever she wants.
Could it be one more witness finds their new forever in Grandger?

I've enjoyed all the books in the In Clear Sight series and this one was no different! This is the 4th book in the series and although you can technically read as standalones, I'd recommend reading in order. The stories about a tiny, off the beaten path, town in Texas being used for Witsec is fascinating to me and has given us great characters from the start.
Growing up under the thumb (and fist) of his abusive father and the president of one of the most violent MCs in the country has informed the man Miller has become. But honestly, no one wants that life less than him. Given an order to do something heinous, Miller finally finds the motivation he needs to run. Now he's a single father in Witness Protection until the Feds can take down his father and the MC. When his baby needs medical care, he meets the sweetly innocent Dr. Caradee. She's accomplished, innocent and sweet; everything he's not. But she's irresistible to him.
Caradee Blacksmith lives an ordered life because of the chaos she grew up in. She's been let down by everyone she's ever loved but longs for a family. She's terrified when the tattooed man practically bangs her door down in the middle of the night but he's got a baby in his arms who needs her. As she's treating the precious Carlie, the chemistry between she and the dangerous man is giving her a fever!
Super fast paced read with great characters and lots of chemistry singeing the pages. This is almost an instalove story, as their relationship happens so quickly but these characters get each other in a deep way. Miller is just the person to fix Caradee's broken pieces and help her regain confidence. Caradee is the soft touch Miller, and Carlie, need. Loved seeing our favorite couples from past books! Great read.

I enjoyed this book. I loved CaraDee. She was so much more than she thought, but when Miller helped build that confidence she flourished. Miller wasn’t a bad guy, he might have done bad things but he was so much more than that. I loved his protective side over his girls. There’s definitely strong violence and graphic descriptions of events so I highly recommend check TW Absolutely recommend.

The beginning of this story was horrifying but completely hooked me in and I was absorbed the whole way through. This story about Miller and Caradee has jumped up to be my favorite one in the series. Being back in the West Texas town called Grandger and meeting up with previous characters was terrific too.
Miller and Caradee couldn’t be more opposite, but they do say opposites attract and that definitely was the situation in this story. Miller was a tough, tattooed biker who still had a conscience, I often pondered throughout the story what he would have been like if not brought up by his brutal father. Caradee had quite a few insecurities and they truly played on her mind, her childhood caused a lot of issues too. No matter what though, the chemistry between the two was almost instantly flammable.
Being in the witness protection program meant that Miller had to be extra careful and on the lookout for his father. When things came to a head, and you knew the action would heat up, I honestly found it hard not to scroll forward. The whole tense situation was so exciting and so well-written I was gobsmacked.

Wow, this suspenseful, and steamy romance kept me in it's grasp from start to finish. From the first heart-pounding chapter when Miller finally finds the courage to leave the life he felt trapped in, I was completely invested. He ends up in witness protection with the baby, Carly, that he saved, and is determined to protect. Caradee is the small town Doctor who takes care of everyone else, before herself. She feels her life is out of control, and might be passing her by before she gets the family she always wanted. When Miller knocks on her door with a sick little Carly, she is instantly attracted to the scary biker with a tender heart. Miller is afraid he is not worthy of the smart, sassy doctor, but sees past the control she shows the world. They both have been trapped in a life that wasn't their own. But they felt an ease with each other to really feel for the first time, and their chemistry was explosive! But when Miller's cover is compromised, and Caradee's life is on the line, can Miller save her before it's too late? This is a heart pounding, fast paced ride of suspense, desire, determination & love! With all the twists and turns happening, I was on the edge of my seat, completely consumed by this story. I loved Caradee's strength and resilience, and Miller's alpha-protector, and dominance along with his swoony gentleness with Carly. Their relationship was complex and sizzling and I loved the way it played out. Cecily Foster and Bryant Walker were so perfect as Caradee and Miller. They nailed all the characters so completely, making me see, and understand them so clearly, and helped me to empathize with them as well. This is my first time listening to both narrators and I loved how they made this story even more exciting! I absolutely loved this heart-pounding, and steamy romance.
This was a quick read for me. It was a great addition to this series and pretty low angst and high steam. It was a good spin on the small town, single dad troupe with a little suspense thrown in.
Miller was definitely a bit of a morally grey character. He grew up in an MC and despite not really fitting into that life, was forced to do things he didn’t agree with. But when his orders go beyond what he can stomach, he saves a baby and enters WITSEC. When he lands in Gradger, he has every intention of staying holed up in the provided house, but when Carlie needs a doctor everything changes.
Dr. Caradee has watched all her friends settle down with witnesses who never left their small town. All she’s ever wanted was a family, but it seems like that isn’t in the cards for her until Miller shows up in her doorstep with his sick daughter. Caradee and Miller have a pretty instant connection and don’t waste any time falling into bed together. But as they get to know each other, they both realize it’s going to be impossible to walk away.
Just as their life together starts to feel permanent, Miller is forced to face his past. The suspense portion of this book was very well written and really sucked me in. The strength Caradee showed was admirable and the determination and willingness to sacrifice himself gave us a good glimpse into the depths of Miller’s feelings.
This was a very entertaining series and I’m glad there are going to be more WITSEC stories to come. I loved all four couples that landed in Grandger. I loved that they were each a little different while keeping with the WITSEC theme.
Hidden by the Doctor is book four in the In Clear Sight series. While it is a complete standalone, it may be better appreciated read or listened to in order after the others in the series as they have interconnected characters.
Caradee is the doctor in Grandger, a very small town off the beaten path in Texas. She has a little bit of a messy past which she struggles with, and she wants more than anything to be a mom.
Miller is new to the small town as part of the WITSEC program. He was in an MC and after they started doing things he couldn't live with, his only option was to turn them in to the feds and enter witness protection. Along the way, he also took in a baby who no longer had a parent, so he became responsibility for her safety as well.
This book was both a hit and miss for me. I have really enjoyed this series up until now so I was really excited to dive into Caradee's story. I really liked Miller and Caradee together. I love that he just accepted her for who she was and helped her gain some confidence and his protectiveness of both her and Carlie was uber swoony.
Having said that, there were parts of the story that I felt like needed to be further developed and explained more, namely Caradee's mother, where there was a major incident but then it didn't feel like that was ever resolved. I also felt like the major conflict with the MC at the end wasn't explained very well.
All in all, I was happy Caradee and Miller and Carlie got their happy ending, but it wasn't my favorite book in the series. I did enjoy the narration and I am looking forward to reading/listening to more from this author in the future.
OMG! The way this story starts is so dark, violent and utterly devastating. It literally gave me stomach cramps over the jaw dropping way things played out. It was intense! And after that beginning, we continue on an emotional journey between two incredible characters.
I have always loved Caradee and I am so happy she finally gets to have her possible happy ever after. She is quirky, smart and sassy but hides her demons from her past deeply. She doesn’t want them to escape in fear that it will destroy her life. But when a big, sexy, dirty talking biker with a baby, lands on her doorstep, Caradee’s life is about to get turned upside down for this man and his incredible heart.
“None of us are perfect, baby girl. We all have pieces of us that are chipped or broken, either by our own doing or by someone else. But hiding from our flaws doesn’t make the truth of who we are any less real.”
Miller – WOW! I love me some dirty and sweet talking, tattooed, badass biker with a heart of gold. I now have found my new book boyfriend. I instantly fell in love with this man. One look at Caradee and he knows instantly that she will be his. He has a way of forcing her to face her insecurities and trauma head-on, making her stronger because of it. These two together were explosively hot and spicy!! They lit my kindle and my panties on fire!!
Such a fantastic and well written story that was filled with suspense, drama, danger, heartfelt moments, passion and love. I could not get enough of Caradee and Miller. It was pure magic from start to finish!
Oh my God, Kennedy Mitchell did it again! Miller and Caradee stole my heart! Miller, a MC member and the prez’s son didn’t want anything to do with what the club was into and he wanted out. When he was sent to do club business and came face to face with an infant, he knew he had to get out and get out then. Without a second thought, he left and went to the FBI and was placed in to WITSEC. Caralee works more hours than she has to herself between taking care of her patients, she also takes care of her mom both physically and financially. Caralee just wants one night to let loose and enjoy a bottle of wine to think about her life that she can’t have now since her split 2 years ago with her ex, a family. Caralee has always wanted a big family and thought by this time in her life she would have one but no, she is single with no prospects of a family anywhere in her near future. With a sick baby in his arms, Miller shows up at the doctor’s office banging on the door hoping someone will open up and help him determine what is wrong with Carlie. When the door is open, Miller couldn’t believe the beautiful woman in front of him. Miller feels like he has done too much bad to deserve anything good and Caradee feels like she is never enough for someone to love. Can these 2 broken people who feel like they can’t have a life because of their past? Such a wonderful story, you won’t want to put it down!

He’s a bad, bad man. A killer. Heir to the MC. Sent to kill every man, woman, child, and animal of the rival MC, Miller is brought low by a baby and it all goes downhill from there.
The sparks between Caradee and Miller are explosive the moment they meet, and the flames keep rising and burning until the very end. So, if you’re looking for slow burn romance, you’re in the wrong place. Put this book down, go get a cold glass of water, an ice pack, turn the fan on high, and then pick the book back up because you’re not going to want to put it down for any reason once you’ve started.
Miller is a naughty boy with a mouth that is so dirty you’ll want to wash his mouth out with soap AND wish he was speaking to you all at the same time. That means that if you buy/add the audio, make sure that you are alone when you press play because you might just traumatize any unwilling participants in the listening. Turn off before unplugging your headphones, and turn off the car stereo before you go through the drive through or pick up members of the car pool. You could end up burning yourself up if you blush easy.
As always, a Mitchell book gives you dark and damaged characters who you can’t help but love despite their dysfunctional selves. You’ll also get danger, protective instincts from both hero and heroine, and a hope that despite how screwed up we all are as people that there is still some good in us.
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
WOW! This is my first book from Kennedy L Mitchell, and she didn’t disappoint.
Who doesn’t love a tattooed up Alpha!
First things first, the characters were amazingly written, and I loved how they both had their own issues but brought out the best in each other. I thought that the issues of insecurities and family baggage were written extremely well and respectfully, which in turn draws out your emotions (and in my case tears).
Miller was so sweet, although the alpha dominance and strength were definitely the major turn on. And did I mention tattooed up... my imagination went wild. He was so strong and independent who never gave up. His kindness and consideration are definitely not what you expect and left me utterly surprised and not what I was expecting.
Caradee is quiet and content with keeping her perfect life just that, perfect. She never steps outside of her box, after being heartbroken. She’s the reliable town doctor, who drops everything to help everyone, to keep herself busy and forget her loneliness. One look at Miller and Carlie and she's a goner.
The chemistry between Miller and Caradee was strong and captures your heart right from the start. The smut is alive and kicking but it doesn’t override the storyline and the love Miller has for Carlie is so sweet you will fall in love with him.
So overall, I loved this and highly recommend it. This book is a great read for any fans of Alpha studs and single father troupes. 5 🖤 Rating!
- Why did nothing else matter in the world except knowing if she was warm enough, fed, happy, or sad? - “None of us are perfect, baby girl. We all have pieces of us that are chipped or broken, either by our own doing or by someone else. - “Have you ever had a man fuck you so hard you forgot your own name? Ever gagged on a thick cock as he fucked your mouth, loving every damn second? Tell me, Caradee,” - “I slept with a criminal,” I whispered. “You did a lot more than just sleeping,” he chuckled. “And based on the sounds you made, you enjoyed being fucked to sleep by one.”
I enjoyed this book so much!!!! I love this series so much, the small town setting, the main and the side characters, the story, everything. I just recommend this whole series, from first to forth book, they are all amazing and absolutely perfect for binge read. I enjoyed this one so much. We have Miller - a single dad who’s running with his baby from his old life, and Caradee - strong and beautiful curvy doctor. I loved everything about them, and their time spent together while baby is sleeping was amazing 🥵 I absolutely loved how he’s (with dirty talking) trying to change her thoughts about her body and insecurities about sex. The whole found family aspect in this book series is amazing!
I wrote this review for Saucy Reviews on Kinky Korner. The beginning of this story was horrifying but completely hooked me in and I was absorbed the whole way through. This story about Miller and Caradee has jumped up to be my favourite one in the series.
The whole tense situation was so exciting and so well written I was gobsmacked.
