This was a very nice end to the trilogy. Fun, but also pretty satisfying.

A fun little trilogy, super easy to read. I enjoyed binge reading these - read them all collectively in a single afternoon!

A 3.5, maybe? This one feels super rushed - I honestly think it's possible to split this volume into 2 for better pacing.

We've seen so little of Maribelle that my reaction was "is that it?" after that last (and only substantial) encounter with her, which is funny considering how much of the plot is because of her. I wish the thing with Larouza was a bit longer too. Every situation in this book ended way before I could feel invested.

Still, I really like the fantasy elements, the reincarnation backstories, and the characterizations of most of the characters. Fun to read but I think it suffered from suddenly-it's-the-final-confrontation.

Please Translate!!!

Please Translate the author's other books. I saw she wrote some of my favorite books that I have sadly had to read from nonpaid unlicensed translators. I would love to read the other villainess stories she has instead of buying in Japanese and slowly Google translating it myself. Please Please!! This series was amazing and I know her other works are just as amazing!!

So cute!

So I did find this volume a little confusing as there seemed to be a few inconsistencies, but overall still very enjoyable. The ending felt a bit incomplete, as it leaves room for further speculation.

Fantastic conclusion to the series. I love the loose ends being cleaned up and explained. Also Gillian super proving that he only wanted Sere from the start. So cute

Serephione has decided it's time to go back to her homeland---but what awaits are the twin problems of Prince Schneider and Maribelle. As Sere moves into her final battle for her home, family, and friends, she must contend with someone whose words can twist reality itself . . .

So this felt like half a volume, plus a bunch of ideas kind of slapped together for the end. Sere does manage to resolve about half the dangling plot threads, but the last chapter just introduces a bunch of new questions that are at best just glossed over. What DOES happen to Maribelle? What happened to the relationships between the kingdoms? (And could Gillian get a bigger role than just standing next to Sere feeling tragic?)

It is a conclusion, mostly. So if you've been reading the series so far, and liked it enough to finish, this isn't a total waste. It just feels so messy.

Overall I think my favorite parts all involved the divine beasts in one form or another. We even meet a few new ones near the end. On the whole, though, I don't think this series did much very well, so it's more of a casual read if you really like the genre. I rate this book Neutral.

The ending (?) to the series felt like the end of a movie where you find out the characters futures as the credits roll, but in novel form and maybe a little rushed. I mostly enjoyed it and the seemingly never ending twists and developments when you thought the story was over, but it wasn't.

I was liking this series but the last half or even quarter of the last book (volume 3) was awful with its deus ex machinima, and the main character loss any sense of rational thought.
