Folsom Planet Blues #4

Alien Most Wanted: Unchained

Rate this book
Can an alien warrior reap his revenge without losing the woman he loves?

A debilitating medical condition has taught Marcy to live her life within carefully maintained boundaries. The one time she allows herself to test those boundaries, she is abducted and taken away from her restricted life.

But being thrown into a dark alien prison cell isn’t the worst thing that could happen to her. There is comfort in the darkness, and in the huge, mysterious alien who challenges her mind - and her heart.

S’quent learned in the most painful way that no one could be trusted. Despite his captivity, he utilizes his formidable skills to plot a suitable revenge. Just as his plans are coming to fruition, he is gifted with a tantalizing female. He knows that there are strings attached to the gift, but he finds her almost impossible to resist.

A corrupt prison, an endangered species, and an evil sibling. He didn’t think the stakes could get any higher. He was wrong.

Although each book in the Folsom Planet series can be read as a standalone romance, there is an underlying story arc that continues throughout the series. This sweet and steamy romance is intended for mature audiences.

Oh what a wonderful conclusion to the series and I'm glad that S'quent's description was a bit more serious and really understanding. The cover image is a bit misleading, to my taste, we are not dealing with a funny and droll winged alien, but a responsible king, who is seriously able to subordinate himself smoothly to the demands and needs and feels obliged to the greater whole.

Again, wonderful, compelling and believable storytelling with unusual challenges and traits patterned and perfectly matched to the chemistry of the characters. Since there is probably no sequel, I am eagerly awaiting the next unknown and the progression to the HEA.

I've read the whole series. Didn't want to read Mastermind because the first two were missing a lot of the story.

Well I'm glad I read it because it was the best of the 3... Now 4.

I was really looking forward to S'quent. But I was completely disappointed.

The story was told like the author was just naming events. Also a lot of repetition. Now? Not now. Later. Yes, but later. But now. ... What? It was like light the fire, yeah...but later.

It wasn't steamy like I expected it to be. It wasn't hot. It was a romance but even as a romance it lacked.

I get it, he was a gentleman, a scientist, royalty...but even so, I always thought of him as a passionate guy when mentioned in previous books. I felt more character then than I did in his own book.

I liked the idea of Marcy and the way they complemented each other but they should have gotten a story less sterile. I imagined them with their glasses on and talking about plants and simply caring about each other, but I don't know, there should have been more.

The story was too short in my opinion.

This series had a good premise, I got the idea of characters and I really wanted to know more of them. The story should have been more developed and written in a way for the reader to really submerge into the lives of the characters but somehow I felt like it was just being told to me (now this happened, then this happened, then another thing, the end).

Where is that promised sex while flying? A lot of great ideas but not written at length.

The mysterious S'quent is up and our guy is just as smitten with his little human as the brothers were. And Marcy isn't AT ALL afraid of the big guy. In fact, she kind of likes everything about him. From his gentleness with her to his scientific mind and all the things in between.

As for S'quent, having a human woman who isn't terrified (of him or the situations, really) forced on him throws him for a bit of a loop. For one thing, he has a plan in motion and Marcy's sudden appearance could potentially derail those plans. But Marcy's smart and determined and her quick mind end up helping the big guy. Plus, she's as smitten with him as he is with her and that makes S'quent SUPER determined to find a way to make things work as far as his plan goes.

And as far as Marcy goes, really.

A plan put in motion, a human who finds her person and her place, a king determined to do the right thing, and some sexy times because these two just can't keep their hands off one another. Niiiiice.

This is book four in the Alien Most Wanted series, but can be read as a standalone. You will not be lost if you have not read any of the previous books.

S’quent has been unjustly imprisoned by his cruel brother that wanted to take over the thrown that rightfully belonged to S’quent. He has spent the last five years trying to find a way to return the prison and the land around it to the jungle like it should have been. Even though he was able to escape, he has stayed to help the native people of the planet.

Marcy is abducted from Earth and thrown into the cell with S’quent. She was born with a rare condition that made her allergic to almost any chemical and very sensitive to light. She has lived in isolation all of her life, and is actually thrilled that she can be in the cell with S’quent and not react to anything.

S’quent is not sure why Marcy was given to him, but he suspects it is not for anything good. As he rushes to finish his work before any harm can come to Marcy, they find that they have much in common.

This is a great book and what a wonderful end to the series!

This sci-fi romance was exciting and hot. The world building of the prison and the dangerous jungle plants was vibrant. There was political intrigue, danger, and action galore to keep the pacing quick and me finishing the novel in one sitting. The heroine was sweet and deeply sympathetic. I appreciated the representation of the heroine having Multiple Environmental Sensitivity Syndrome. I don’t think I have ever seen someone else who has it in a romance novel. The hero was deliciously alpha while also being delightfully nerdy. I thoroughly enjoyed every single novel in this series, but this particular novel ended the series on the highest note of all. I look forward to reading whatever the delightful Honey Phillips releases next.

After meeting S'quent in the first Alien Most Wanted book, and getting little snippets as each of the brothers encountered him during their escapes, we finally have his full story. I loved S'quent and Marcy as a couple, and how he was just a giant alpha marshmallow with her. I also loved that Marcy was so sheltered/innocent due to her physical limitations (extreme sensitivity to light & environmental contaminants/chemicals), but she was an amazing scientist and complemented S'quent as his perfect mate. So many sci-fi heroines are tough and a bit hard or jaded, it's nice to read about other types.

Everything was wrapped up pretty well in the previous (third) book, and as such, Unchained can stand alone; but it provides a really nice 'complete closure' bookend where all villains get what's coming to them, and is also my favorite of the series (with Mastermind in second place). Honey writes some of the best heroes in sci-fi romance and the romantic relationships are always loving and respectful (and spicy!).

It was just ok, not the best I have read from this author. Since this was the end of the series, I would have liked to see a little more to it. I would have wanted her to go into more detail about taking over the prison and more about Ranchi, the second in charge. With the first books, he seemed to always be up to something. He had a reason for bringing the women and who he gave them to how the warden never got them. All we got was he was making money, and a vine killed him. The end was short and uninteresting, which was a shame. I liked the other books and was looking forward to this one

I stumbled across Honey when I had finished another authors books. I have been on a bit of a sci fi romance blitz. Just something to get lost in other than the norm. Where you can do what you want because it is sci fi.

Trust me you will not be disappointed. I enjoyed this one so much that I am now working my way through all her books. Gotta love Kindle Unlimited.

I knew I’d love his sarcastic self! The only thing I didn’t love was how anticlimactic the ending kind of felt to me. It’s built up throughout the whole series and then it’s over in a couple pages. Like oh, okay lol

I loved this. Not wuite the same as the others but you wouldn't want it to be any way would you? Now don't get me wrong I have loved the brothers but ever since there was that little bit about S'quent in the original novella story with Riker I have been wanting to have his own story. You just knew that he was not what he was made out to be and there is far more to him than you would expect. He has been pondering about human women for some time since his original encounter with one so imagine his surprise when all of a sudden a guard, one not to trusted, delivers him his own human female to look after. Suspicious, highly suspicious however he cannot leave her unprotected regards of the circumstances. Marcy has been battling, what has to be a been a crippling gift from the genetic lottery. This has kept her isolated from pretty much everything including human touch. To have been so segregated has to have been worse than a prison sentence a there is no chance of ever getting out or so she thought when she suddenly comes to and her entire world has changed. The bubble she was living in whilst keeping her alive as so restrictive and yet her in this cell on an alien planet she feels that she has a chance to live at last. What are the odds of that? She is a very logical person, she has had to be, with a voracious capacity for learning and science. What does she make of her cellmate though?
I loved how clinical Marcy could be about her situation and in truth it was a greater freedom than she ever thought it might be. All those little loose ends tied up so nicely and yet....

This book was brilliant and the main characters with there strong and independent ways made this a page turner right up until the very end. King S’quent was falsely accused by his brother S’ning and was taken to the prison planet Folsom where he was treated badly and while he plotted his revenge and escape he was given a gift a female and human one at that and her scent drove him crazy with lust for he had found his mate. Marcy has always been sick which is why she rarely went outside she because has a sensitivity disorder to light and on this rare night she goes outside and is abducted by aliens and taken to a prison planet and thrown into a cell with a huge but sexy alien. These two are instantly drawn to each other and S’quent realizes she is his mate and it is now more important to keep her safe at all costs and escape. There is danger, action, suspense, drama but through it all there is passion and love. Can everything be restored to its rightful place on his home planet Yaras where he is the rightful King or does his brother S’ning succeed again and have him removed again. This is the conclusion of the series but I find it’s best to read them all to understand everyone’s role in this book.

This book had a really different feel than the earlier 3 books.

In those earlier 3 books they had to figure out how to escape the prison while at the same time keeping their human mate safe from other prisoners.

In this book, S'Quent is given the female as a gift and told he can keep her as long as nobody else knows she's there. He is suspicious but accepts.

SPOILER PSOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER

They take things slow and she is a scientist like he is so they fall in love. s'quent has a secret cave that connects to his cell where he gets plants and other experiments. He even has a waterfall and hot springs and can fly.

It turns out hero's evil brother wants him to have a child so he can kill S'quent and be Regent over the child. Luckily hero escapes before that can happen. That is why the prison gave him the heroine. So they'd make a baby.

He and heroine have a son. He uses plants "vines" to break out of the prison. Some people get eaten.

He and heroine return to his planet and they are King and Queen. A few years later, they abdicate and give up the throne.

Hero has a few extras, his tongue and genitals have things that move and suck. His fangs also give a mating bite and are pleasurable.

I recommend all 4 books.

Fabulous end to a fantastic series! 💖🔥💖🔥

S’quent finally gets his story told in this culminating book of the Folsom planet Blues series. His character was a combination of primal male, danger and attractiveness. Marcy his human mate, is special, intelligent with and inner strength that belies her fragile appearance. Marcy was born with a light and skin sensitivity disorder. She has spent most of her whole life isolated and lonely with nothing but her scholarly scientific research as her companion. That is until the night she is abducted from Earth and given to S’quent . When S’quent meets Marcy for the first time he is amazed at how intelligent and level headed she was and was astonished that she found him attractive and not scary. As their relationship evolves and passion grows and love blooms they work tirelessly to bring down the leaders of the prison and anyone else who gets in their way. Old friends make an appearance and the ending is a perfect wrap up. I do hope HP does return again to this section of the empire so that we can make new friends and catch up with old ones. Highly recommend!💖🔥💖🔥🔥💖🔥💖💖🔥💖🔥💖💖🔥🔥💖💖🔥🔥💖🔥💖🔥🔥🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖💖🔥🔥💖💖💖🔥💖🔥

My favorite of the series!

WOW!
This book is lava! *fans self*
This is a fated mates series!

Virgin heroine!
No other woman/man drama.
No cheating.

There is use a aphrodisiac: heroine was given the aphrodisiac and coerced to drink it or the hero and her would face dire consequences.
(At this point, both of them already wanted to jump each other’s bones but didn’t because S’quent is a hulking dude and Marcy is petite so he’s been “preparing her baby” to accept his 🍆!! 😉🌶)

S’quent is just such a damn dream boat 😩❤️❤️👌🏼

This is a fast pasted book!

No dumb self induced angst.
But the heroine did thought (for a sentence) that their time together is limited.
EXCEPT we all know she ain’t going anywhere 😌❤️
We know it. S’quent knows it. And S’quent let’s Marcy know it too! 👏🏻👏🏻

I HIGHLY recommend this book to those who have a size kink(that’s me!), who loves fated mates, and to those who enjoy fast paste sweet steamy reads!

And you bet your ass I’m gonna re-read this! 😤😤

This book is awesome because the FMC has a disability. So many deal with chronic conditions and autoimmune diseases that this really hit home. Invisible illness, it's a thing! (I have fibromyalgia, so I relate.) Marcy is abducted and ends up in an alien prison. Marcy is super smart and has a technical job on earth. S'quint is a king, but finds himself imprisoned. He's a super science nerdy geek, too! This book was SUPER steamy. That really worked for me. S’quint. His wings, his black velvety yumminess… I'm totally HERE for it! The dynamic he’s dark, and she’s light. He’s huge and she’s not. Protector vibes. I loved that they were in similar fields of study, so could relate to each other there. Not giving away any plot points, but if you've been following this series, then this is a great climax to the story. So much makes sense. It's adventurous and steamy and awesome! Fans of Honey will love this book! 5 stars!

I waited for 3 books in order to read this one! It didn't disappoint!

Which means I have my very own bat man and my own bat cave to explore, she thought with a smile.

***Spoiler Alert***
This one was very interesting. It did not go the way I thought it would, which was a little disappointing, but it was well executed.

Biggest complaint is that it is an easy read, I finished it in half a day.

S'quent is imprisoned in an illegal prison but though he is incarcerated, he's not exactly without liberties.

I was a little disappointed that he turned out to be such a gentleman. There was a lot of potential there to make him dark and brooding but I enjoyed the dynamic that was between him and Marcy.

Melodramatic for the climax, the story never really had an element of danger to it like the first two had.

I did enjoy the mental fortitude of the book though, Marcy was an excellent fit for him in many ways.

Marcy
My life has always been a restrictive one. My eyes could not stand bright lights or sunshine. Either would cause me to have massive migraine headaches. If not that, I was allergic to almost everything. The one time I was brave enough to go outside, I was abducted by aliens. She never would have thought that she would find the love of her life on a prison planet called Folsom.
S'quent
I've been falsely imprisoned on Folsom for seven hundred and sixty-three days. My brother is the Regent of my planet Yaras of whom I am the King. If he keeps me here, he can stay in control. When Ratchi, Warden Nazort's assistant, decided to bring me a present, I was supervised, to say the least. The little human he gave me was my mate.
Such a sweet read. I loved it!!! Guaranteed HEA!!! A perfect ending to a perfect series.

While I love virtually everything Honey Phillips writes, (and am thankful that she is a fast writer!), I was a little disappointed that everything fell together too easily and without much conflict.
S'quent has had a reoccurring appearance in all the Folsom Planet Blues stories, but I thought he would have a much darker and grittier backstory. While Marcy has her own issues, she fell into the situation (aliens, prison, etc) with barely a "huh?"
The villains were 'off stage' baddies, meaning if you didn't read the first three books you wouldn't really have any idea how awful they were.
This was a fun ending to the series, but I think Honey Phillips could have dug a little deeper to have a more satisfying finale.

I've been a fan of Honey Phillips for a while but some how I missed this series until this one came along. I binged all 3 in a day (this a standalone but I wanted the whole universe. It also connects into other series). The trilogy has a hea with a sweet post credit. S'quent was a mysterious background character who always seemed more important than we saw especially at the end of the last book. We're introduced to Marcy and that's all you're getting.
More great writing from Honey, she always manages to nail to right amount of peril with the perfect amount of heat. I love the expanded universe, we need a name for it.

I loved this book! I was so interested in S'quent when he first appeared in book one- Caged Beast- and was hoping he would get his own book. So when I saw he was, I was beyond excited! He was so much more than I expected and I loved him entirely. I loved Marcy just as much- maybe a little more! She has disabilities, but for all of those problems, she is extremely smart and rational. I found her personality very unique compared to other heroines I read in paranormal romance. I thought Marcy and S'quent were perfect for each other. Their personalities and intelligence suited each other very well. I'm sad that this is the last book in this series. It was absolutely perfect and my favorite in the series. I highly recommend it! 5 stars

I have to admit that while I was scrolling down the book's page to write this review and formulating my leading line in my head, I was momentarily disappointed and paused, since the first review's leading line was stating the same, and it is absolutely true. This story did not and does not disappoint.

I was one of the readers that was just bouncing in her seat, waiting for S'quent's story.
Quick, enjoyable and entertaining story. Read it in the hours after work and before bed.
Author did a great job of developing the characters and the world they live in. Would love more from this world.

While I read this entire series via Kindle Unlimited, I truly think this book and the others in this series well worth your time and $$ Do not hesitate!!!

S’quent and Marcy couldn’t have been more perfect balances for each other’s needs! I loved reading their love story from start to finish! We met S’quent in book one of the series, when he kindheartedly protected Amanda, and he reappeared in books two and three. He was the alien with a plan and good advice, which mostly got ignored. I was so happy to see he would get his own happy ending! Marcy needed to be abducted and mated to an alien to find her normal, and I was so happy to see her get that happy ending, too. S’quent’s background was fascinating- the scientist King! What a combo! I loved this story by itself, and as the culmination of all the books leading up to this conclusion of the series. What a great and different series! It was really exciting and full of action and danger. Hope there are similar themed future series! What a ride!

Folsom Planet Blues Book 4 - S'quent & Marcy

This is my favorite of all four books in the series. S'quent is even better than I imagined from the brief glimpses we were given of him. He is such a good male who was brutally betrayed by his own brother & hidden away in prison due to his brothers greed & pure evil.

S'quent finds ways to help those who need help the most. He's trying to save a small species native to Folsom Planet. He helps Riker, Altrez & Leavent & their mates (3 brothers from previous books) & he saves Marcy. He is amazing. He & Marcy may be different species from different planets, but they were made for each other, soulmates.
He & Marcy are both brilliant scientists & sensitive souls. Their story was beautiful & sexy in such a perfect way.

This is a Ten Star Read! Yes, this is the best in the series and I am disappointed that it has come to a close. I loved the character of S’quent…he is a complex alpha male whose kindness and depth just melted me into a pile of goo. The air of mystery of this character further intrigued me and I wanted to know more about him even from the first book. I also loved Marcy. I LOVE a strong female character that is intelligent and wise…she never let her disabilities stop her from achieving what she desires. I’m hoping the Kaisarian Empire will find a way into another series because they make the best villains. Don’t miss this conclusion to a wonderful series! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Absolutely brilliant. S'quent is an amazing male. Patient, passionate and endearing. His relationship with his new gift Marcy whom he affectionately calls Blossom is truly a match made in heaven. They both have extremely intellectual minds and have a beautiful foundation to start their lives. Finally S'quent seeks his revenge on his brother and takes his rightful place as king. Sickly Marcy has never felt more alive then when she is in S'quent's arms and enveloped in his wings. The faith and trust they put in one another transcends all space and time.
A beautiful romantic story. An exceptional conclusion. And worth the wait!.

I wanted to like this book because the hero seemed so interesting in the previous book but it felt flat for me. This wasn’t as spicy as her previous books and I was looking forward to seeing the hero unhinged. There was too many of “and they had sex” without a description. Does that make me a perv? Probably, but this is a huge part or why I like these romance books. The attraction, the buildup, the issues they go through culminating in a hot encounter that blows the book and your panties to smithereens. Has this author done this before? Absolutely
This book does not deliver in this respect and felt very rushed.

Another winner !!!!

What a lovely story !!! I have been intrigued by S'Quent 's story since we 1st met him in the 1st book, so I was happy to see that he got his own book !!!
S'Quent was wrongly imprisoned , but he had many secrets. When the wardens assistant , Rachi brings him a human female in secret, who is S' Quent to say anything ??
Marcy has been kidnapped , but once on Planet Folsom, her life changes.
As Marcy and S'Quent learn about each other and how alike they are in many respects , this story turns juicy !!!! A few former characters show up and the story comes to its explosive conclusion !!!!! Not gonna lie , I will miss this world !!!
