Twenty years ago, Randy Daniels took a neglected young spitfire under his wing, offering her a place to visit on his family ranch when she needed to escape her unhappy home. It isn’t until Mickie Taylor walks into his private club that he sees her as a grown woman he vows to take under his dominant control.
While grateful for the opportunities Randy’s intervention in her life offered Mickie, she refuses to let anyone tell her what to do or curb her independence in any way. But something about Randy’s touch, his commanding voice when he has her restrained, draws her in and threatens a part of her she’s always held back from everyone.
It isn’t until a threat on her life and a misconception lands her in terrible danger that she sees the error in not trusting the one person who has always been there for her. Now, her only hope is that he will come to her aid in time for her to give him the one thing he’s ever asked of her – her complete faith.

I live in the Midwest with my husband and two dogs, enjoy spending time with my daughter, babysitting her two dogs, reading and working puzzles. We have traveled extensively, but I much prefer being a homebody.

I began writing erotic novels with an emphasis on erotic spanking five years ago never dreaming that I would get published. I just celebrated the release of my eleventh title and am very thankful to my publisher, Pink Flamingo, for taking a chance on me and giving me the opportunity to enjoy a fun career. While my earlier books lean more towards straight erotica that will appeal to only a very select audience, my last five books are erotic romances. I enjoy hearing all comments from readers. A JOURNEY OVER TWENTY YEARS

What a great addition to this new series, Doms of Mountain Bend. There are several authors who I read everything they write, and Ms. BJ Wane is one of them. She has a way of bringing life to her characters, emotions, and interactions while writing a mystery, suspense with romance. Add in dominant men, smart but feisty females, a touch of danger, a healthy dose of eroticism within a relationship, add in the spice of BDSM scenes, and you get a perfect blend within a story. If you've read the previous stories, Randy was the one who originally owned Spurs—and a cheating wife is what drove him away from Idaho.

The story needed to be shared—it is of Randy Daniels and Mickie Taylor. They meet when she flags him down to help a horse. Randy is eighteen, and Mickie is only ten, going on thirty. She is spunky, but he understands more about her when Randy sees her home life situation. The entire Daniels family takes Mickie under their care, becoming like an honorary family member as she comes and cares for the foal she names Black Jack.

The Taylor home is anything but loving. Parents who fight continuously, a mother who had numerous affairs, a father who drinks heavily, and their only child they ignore. Mickie has tough skin; she doesn't know love or kindness until she encounters the Daniels. Randy calls her kid; his parents treat her well, his mother tries to make sure she has enough to eat. As Mickie completes high school, they are impressed with her goal to become a veterinarian assistant. Randy doesn't take her as seriously as she does him—eight years in age is a huge difference.

Mickie: You'll wait for me, won't you, Randy?
Randy: Sure, kid. You should know by now I'll always be here for you. Come on, I'm hungry.
Randy: You guys always stuck up for her, which only encouraged her to take risks.
Mickie: Nah. I've never liked restraints put on me, is all.

Fast forward—the senior Daniels want to go on vacation, Randy is in Texas licking his wounds after his divorce, and Mickie is offered the foreman job at the ranch. Being back in Mountain Bend, taking care of her Dad, she gave up her career in Colorado. What she doesn't expect is for Randy to return.

Randy: I've never known you to run away from something you're uncomfortable with instead of facing it head-on.
Mickie; What are you talking about?
Randy: This. You don't know what to make of this change in me toward you. Well, guess what, I don't either.
Mickie: I thought you wanted to go for a ride.
Randy: Oh, I do, Mickie, fast and hard or slow and easy, however, you wish to go.
Mickie: You're bad. Save it for one of your bimbos eager to kowtow to your demands. Black Jack and I will race you and Cheyenne, and leave you in the dust.

The story is about the journey of Randy and Mickie—and it is full of obstacles, starting with a considerable age difference. To Randy, Mickie is a kid, sometimes an annoying girl with more grit and determination than most men. He sees her as an honorary sister. He is a man with a healthy sexual appetite that enjoys BDSM. Even when she is eighteen, he is twenty-six, and she is still a kid to him. But, somewhere along the way, when they are both much older, Randy opens his eyes and realizes that the girl he has called a kid is a beautiful and sexy woman. Seeing her at Spurs comes as a shock; getting her to trust him and submit changes his view of her.

The story kept this reader on an emotional roller coaster ride. You can't help but admire Mickie, who overcame a careless family, rough background, and the tenacity to rise above it. In his youth, Randy seems to go through women quickly, settling for a submissive, Melanie, who he marries, and eventually gets burned, when she cheats. You need to read and become a voyeur as Randy and Mickie find each other, not as friends, but by taking the risk to become lovers.

"Trust is a hard thing to earn, easy to lose, and never to be taken lightly. I would think, after all these years, I've earned yours, and I sure would never risk losing it at this point."

Randy and Mickie have known each other since she was 10 and he was 18. I was so happy with how this story played out. Letting the characters grow over the years was something that needed to be done, even though I didn't like some of the things that happened, they needed to for the story. Mickie went from a scrawny little girl to a veterinarian and ranch foreman on the ranch that Randy's parents owned. (love Randy's parents) When she gets curious about the "club" he visits, she goes to check it out. Of course, it's a BDSM club and if you've read the previous books in this series, you'll see the characters show up in this one. Watching their relationship grow was really nice and even when someone from Randy's past shows up, it doesn't stop her from dealing with it. All in all, this is one of my favorites in this series. You can read it as a standalone but if you're like me, you should start from the beginning! Another great story from BJ Wane!!

Following Randy and Mickie's story is a rollercoaster of emotions. Their story spans over twenty year providing ample backstory for this couple. There are twists and obstacles for this couple. I love the power exchange elements. This does haveba slower start but the pacing does pick up quickly.

Possessor is the fifth book in bestselling author BJ Wane’s Doms of Mountain Bend series. While all of the books can be read as a standalone, it’s best to read the series as characters from the other books appear in this book.
Randy was eighteen when he came across a ten year old Mickie trying to rescue a horse.. He made a deal with her and allowed her to help with raising the horse. As a result, Mickie spends most of her following years on his families ranch, and developing a crush on him as well.
But after coming home from college, she overhears Randy telling another woman that she’s a tomboy, and “Not as special.” So she moves off to another state, until a family situation with her father brings her home. She and Randy get closer, and she is introduced to Master Randy at the local BDSM club.
While they are exploring their mutual feelings and having a great time doing it, Mickie catches the attention of a pair of cattle rustlers. And they will stop at nothing to be sure they haven’t left a witness behind.
As always, this was another page-turner from BJ! She does a fantastic job with world building, and you can’t help but root for the characters to get their much longed for hea.

BJ Wane has written a 5-star book. This is the story of Mickie and Randy. Mickie and Randy meet when she stops him and makes him help a colt whose mother has died. He takes them both back to his family ranch and has h the foreman take a look at the colt. The colt is Mickie's but Randy just gives it a place to stay. Mickie names the colt Black Jack since he is black. Mickie comes over all the time and helps Steve with the ranch work. When she turns 13, she starts getting paid for the work she is doing. She saves all her money so that when she can leave her town and parents who don't care about her at all. She falls in love with Randy and when she goes off to college she has him promise to wait for her. When she comes home from college, Randy has a girlfriend and he tells her that she has nothing to be jealous of Mickie for. Mickie hears this and decides it is time to move on since she is going to get what she wants. She goes and moves and hardly comes back home to see her parents or Randy and his family. Mickie was a vet and helped out one of her professors and stayed in Colorado with him. She gets a call from her father and is told that her mother had left and he needed help since his accident. She quits her job and goes home to help her father. Things with her father are as bad as they were but she can't turn her back on him. She is in town and Caroline, Randy's mother sees her and they end up talking. Caroline asked how long she was going to be in town. Mickie tells her that she didn't know. Caroline tells her that Steve is going to retire and they needed to find someone to run the ranch since Randy wasn't there. Caroline tells Mickie to talk to Steve because she would be perfect for the job. Mickie takes the job since Randy isn't there and things are going well for her. Caroline calls Randy and tells him that they hired a new manager for the ranch. Randy wants to know the man's name and his mother tells him that she is the right person for the job and knows what she is doing so he didn't have to come home before they left for their month-long vacation. Randy decides to go home anyway. It is the morning his parents are leaving and he starts to go to their house when he sees Mickie's truck. He didn't know that she was home for a visit. He finds out that she is the new manager of the ranch. She doesn't act the same toward him as she did before. She keeps a little distance between them. Mickie found out that Randy was into BDSM and had owned a club before he left but sold it. She decides to go and check it out. She meets some new friends and decides to go back the next night. Only when she walks into the club, the first person she sees is Randy. At first, things do not go well since she is still hurt by what he told Melanie all those years ago. She tries to get away from him but he doesn't let her go. He takes her to a private booth so they can talk and after a little while, he does a scene with her. After it is over, she tells him she just wants to go home. He lets her go after he gets her to drink a bottle of water. She hopes that her father is asleep when she gets home but he isn't. They have words and he slaps her across the face. She turns and leaves and goes to the ranch. Randy comes home and sees a light on in the stables. He goes in and finds Mickie asleep in the office there. He wants to know why she is there. When he catches a cut on her face, he wants to know who did it. She tells him to let it go. He tells her not on her life. He picks her up and takes her out to his truck. She asked, "Where are we going.?" He tells her that he is taking her to his house. Things happen when they get to his house. He takes her to his room. Mickie is too tired to fight with him so she just goes with it. Mickie has never had anyone do anything for her so she isn't used to it. She doesn't ask for help since she has had to do everything for herself in her life. Mickie and Randy start sleeping together and he tries to get her to let go of some things. He knows she is the one that he wants but he just doesn't know how to let her know.
Will things for Mickie and Randy work out or will she be too much for him?.

All in all a very good read. The twist and turns of life were captured in every line in Possessor by BJ Wane. While this is the 5th book in the Doms of Mountain Bend series, you do not need to read the other books to enjoy this one.

Mickie has loved Randy for most of her life. Mickie has horrible parents - unloving, uncaring and neglectful. Randy helps Mickie at a pivotal moment in her life and she is "adopted" into his family. The book flows from Mickie as an eight year old and Randy at 18 to Mickie being a teenager and Randy a young adult to Mickie at college and Randy settling in to life with someone else. Mickie gives up on a future with Randy and fulfills her dream of working with animals, choosing to work away from her hometown. Fast forward twenty years. Mickie is 30 and Randy is 38.

Mickie's dad manipulates her into returning home to care for him. Randy's parents need a foreman and hire Mickie. Randy, former owner of Spurs, is in Texas helping a cousin but decides to return to Idaho when he finds out Mickie is back in town.

Mickie, while a spitfire and fiercely independent, is curiously drawn to the idea of observing and socializing at the local kink club, Spurs.

Randy returns home and begins to see Mickie differently - not as the eight year old he helped or the fourteen year old he encouraged or the eighteen year old he was proud of but as a desirable woman. But to get to the woman, he has to get through the anger and hurt in her eyes. One night at Spurs changes everything.

Will Randy's past relationships be a barrier between what could be between them? Will Mickie's dad ruin the one or two good things in her life? Will Mickie get her happily ever after or will the return of someone from Randy's past ruin everything?

Possessor is the fifth book in the Doms of Mountain Bend series. While it can be read as a stand alone, you will see many familiar faces and relationships from the previous books. Randy has known Mickie for the last twenty years, but it isn’t until now that he’s realizing the woman she’s grown into being. Mickie has moved back home to take care of her father, but can’t deny the attraction she feels towards Randy and his lifestyle. But when Mickie is placed in danger, will they get a chance to see if their relationship will last, or will lack of trust tear them apart?

Oh my goodness, this book was a fantastic read! I adored Mickie and Randy, how their relationship developed from friends to lovers to so much more. Mickie is fiercely independent, and it’s really a struggle for her to open up, be vulnerable, and ask for help. BDSM is so unknown to her, power exchange something that’s hard for her to fathom, but she can’t and won’t deny what her body feels, especially for Randy, who she feels the safest with. Randy is dominant and protective, and I loved that he didn’t back down from the challenge that Mickie presented him with. They knew exactly what buttons to push with each other because of their long history, but they also knew so much was at stake if this relationship went sideways. Randy knew what he didn’t want, and had to go through some self reflection to find what he truly did want. I loved them together! I loved their passion and their softness and they ways they could feel safe within each other’s arms. The danger is definitely present, especially towards the end of the book, and that’s also when trust comes into their relationship. I have been loving this series and once I got started with this book, I just refused to put it down! So good!

I just finished an ARC of this book. I realized that the cover hasn't been added to Goodreads, so I'm probably jumping the gun a bit.

I started reading BJ Wane a few months ago and managed to be totally captivated by the Doms of Mountain Bend series. These guys are all friends. Each book is about a D/s couple falling in love. This one, The Possessor was extremely good and very entertaining.

Obviously if you don't like BDSM, whether BDSM lite or dark, this isn't the book for you.

Randy and Mickie have known each other since she was ten years old and had flagged him down on a country road to help her with a newborn colt. He gets married, she goes off to school. She's been in love with him since she was 10, but he doesn't see her as a woman until ... well, I'll let the book clue you in on that stuff.

Every book I read by BJ Wane gets better. I could identify with Mickie and yes, even Randy, although his temper was problematic (but no abuse, he would walk away rather than lose his temper at Mickie - good man). The rest of the Doms of Mountain Bend show up in this book also, along with their sexy wives. That made the book even more interesting since I made friends with these characters in the last four books.

I would suggest NOT doing what I always do, and try to read these in order.

This was a wonderful read I had been looking forward to this book and as always, I was not disappointed, the characters and the plot were wonderful and have to admit that it was another very late night of reading as I could not put it down until I reached the end.
The chemistry between Randy and Mickie was simply heart melting at times and then at other Phew it was hot!hot!hot!
The story had everything I have come to expect from her writing and as always there is an element of surprise that never fails to excite, there was lots of excitement and sparks and I am sure that other readers will enjoy it as much as myself.

I have been reading BJ Wane’s books about Doms and their subs for a while now and her writing just continues to get better. Not that she was bad in the beginning and her characters have always been one of her strongest elements. Her plots have definitely changed and gotten more complex and cohesive. One of the things that I really noticed and enjoyed with this book is how her ability to describe things is developing. From describing bigger physical things like what the club looks like as Mickie visits it and the things she is feeling as she looks around to smaller stuff that Ms. Wane adds descriptions of that add color to the book without bogging things down. All of this has kept improving as she writes more and more stories about people who enjoy a bit of BDSM with their romance. And these are true Dom/sub relationships between ordinary people which is another element that I love. Now I just need to find myself a small town where everyone hangs out at the local club complete with hay bales instead of the local bar!.

'Possessor' is B. J. Wane's fifth book in her "Doms of Mountain Bend" series and what a great series it has been so far. This one just adds to the enjoyment! Randy had just graduated high school and was on his way home when a scrawny, skinny girl was standing in the middle of the road, waving her arms in order to make him stop. When he did, she told him she needed his help. Following her over the fence and into the field, he found the mare dead and the new foal as emaciated as its mother. Randy agreed to take it to his family's ranch and see if the vet could save it. That incident took on a life of its own. For nearly twenty years Mickie has been a part of the Daniels' family and for the life of him, Randy couldn't figure out when she grew up into a woman and why he was having the reaction he was having over her. And why was she in a BDSM club? I thoroughly enjoyed the push and pull of these two, especially when they invariably pushed each other's buttons. Every second guess, every question, and even the insecurities were so totally relatable, and yet there was such growth in their personalities after going through all this. It was a great read.

When I read the blurb for this book, I had a moment of trepidation because I don’t have a good track record with bratty heroines. But Mickie isn’t a brat. She’s a fiercely independent young woman who learned at a young age that the only person she could count on one hundred percent of the time was herself. Randy is opinionated and oblivious, but he also just cares so darned much for the people who are important to him. I really enjoyed watching these two as they navigated how to successfully blend who they are and what they wanted into a mutually satisfying relationship. Mickie and Randy remind us that the best relationships take both people working together for a common goal. I also love that the author flipped the script and had the heroine giving her hero crap about all his bad language. Now I’m trying to decide which members of Spurs I’m hoping the author will write about next.

This story takes place over 20 years, and from Mickie's rough childhood to her blossoming into a woman, she has always been Randy's. When his marriage to someone else fails, he realizes what and who he wants. He only needs to convince Mickie that he wants forever with her.
I have enjoyed every BJ Wane book I have read, and this is no exception. The Doms of Mountain Bend is a fantastic series, with each book better than the last. Randy is a strong Hero, strong enough to let Mickie be Mickie. She has an inner strength, and is afraid of only one thing: her own vulnerability. Well-written and relatable, and set against the beautiful backdrop of rural Idaho, this is just about the perfect cowboy romance, and when you add in the BDSM angle, it carries it over the top. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and I hope you will too. It is well worth the one click.

What a great story! It was a bit of a slow start as the author set up the story, but the more you read the better it gets. Circumstances or being at the right place at the right time was the beginning of a great romance. Mickie and Randy's story started out with Randy rescuing a horse that Mickie found near death. Over the years as each of them grow, their relationship changes. Much later when they come together as adults, their relationship changes once again. Randy now sees that she is the one he is looking for but Mickie is not as trusting as she is judging him on his past relationships. Throw in a criminal enterprise that targets Mickie and the story really picks up. This was a great story and it was very enjoyable to read. I cannot wait to read more from this author.

If you want a feel good story with a helping of BDSM this is the book for you. From a scrawny kid of ten to a qualified veterinary assistant and foreman of the ranch, Mickie has loved in one form or another, the son of the ranch owners Randy. This is their story and as the original owner of Spurs, readers of BJ Wane wil know how hot some of the scenes are. There are parts when the reader cannot see a happy ending but there definitely is one. Caroline, Randy’s mother is a great character and she, along with all the regular Spurs members add so much to the story. A great way to put your troubles aside for a couple of hours and enjoy an great story.. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Honestly what can i say, but i loved this book to pieces. I also loved the way it was written from when Randy and Micky very first met, it really was beautiful. Then over the years as they grew up, the Daniels family really was great. But getting back to Micky she leaves the ranch to go to college and earn herself a veterinary degree. Soon she has to come back to look after her father. But sparks fly between then as Micky tries to stay aloof and not let her feelings for Randy i terfer with work. However she finds it hard to do because no matter what her body thinks she likes submitting to Randy.

This is a very well written story and BJ wane never fails to deliver strong beautifull characters for her books. This has to be worth five stars plus.

This was an adult romantic suspense.

Mickie Taylor is fiercely independent. At 10 years old she found a newborn goal in a field and flagged down Randy to help her and it. Randy took the horse to his family ranch and helped care for and raise the horse, teaching Mickie how to do the same. She went to college to become a veterinary assistant.

Randy Daniels has always seen Mickie as a cute, neglected kid he took under his wing until he came back from a year in Texas after his divorce from a full-time submissive. He realizes Mickie may be a bedroom submissive and talks her into a D/s relationship.

They have a lot of baggage to work through but eventually get their HEA.

I really enjoyed this story by BJ Wane. I have been a fan of this series from the beginning. I really enjoyed seeing Randy find love again. I loved the interactions between Randy and Mickie. I thought that seeing them grow up was a great backstory.

Randy left the area to get over his divorce but is back now. He is surprised to see Mickie is back as well. They grew up together after she flagged him down to save a foal. There are several years between them so they had more of a friendship. She has come back to take care of her father and has landed the foreman position at Randy's family ranch. Randy soon sees her in a new light. Will he be able to convince her that they belong together?.

Randy took Mickie under his wing when she was just a scrawny 10 yr old and her parents neglected her. With Randy’s help she rescued a newborn foul and nursed him back to health. As she grew older and spent more time on his family’s ranch, her crush for Randy grew, but he was clueless to her feelings. He looked at her as a little sister. Now 20 years later with a divorce behind him, the two are working together on the ranch again and he sees her in a different light. A very good storyline that is emotional at times, with angst, danger, and a deep attraction and feelings that grow between them. I loved it.

Possessor is the fifth install in BJ Wane’s Doms of Mountain Bend series. In it, she chronicles the romantic journey of Mickie Taylor and Randy Daniels. These two knew each other from their youth. She became a pseudo family member when his family takes her in to help her cope with her destructive and miserable family life. Now years later, Destiny brings them together after years of being apart. Can they find happiness? Will they be able to overcome the obstacles of their pasts? Will their emotional wounds be healed? To find out, you must read this age-gap, contemporary romance.

Ms. Wane, once again, captures her readers attention from the start with this contemporary romance. This book is a captivating read as it captures the magnetism of true love. She possesses a remarkable skill for creating diverse and appealing characters, who can be strong and independent, yet vulnerable. The main characters have chemistry between them. This book is beautifully written with great dialog, a dual POV, and descriptive scenes that lends credibility to this HEA romance.

another excellent story

Mickie and Randy have known each other since she was a child and him a teenager. She has grown up around his family ranch and whilst she fell for Randy, to him Mickie was the kid they’d pretty much adopted until….. When Randy comes home from licking his wounds after his divorce he unexpectedly bumps into a very grown up Mickie and his eyes are opened. Mickie is not at all sure she can submit to Randy but is willing to give it a try. Unfortunately other people get in the way and try and remove Mickie from the scene.
Lots of emotion and a real rollercoaster for me.

I love this series and I enjoyed Mickie and Randy's journey. Randy takes Mickie in and helps her when she was younger to get away from her life. Now he sees her at the club and wants more. Mickie is independent and does not want to have someone telling her what to do. Then there is danger and will she be able to trust Randy. The characters are wonderful and I love all the books but this one was one of my favorites. The story was wonderful.

I've read a lot of books written by BJ Wane; she is one of my favorite authors. I can’t wait to read more of her books.

This is the fifth book in the Doms of Mountain Bend Series; it is a stand-alone book. The story is about Mickie & Randy; twenty years ago he offers her a place to escape her unhappy home. When she comes into his club all grown up he wants more but she’s not ready to let anyone take away her independence.

This is another terrific and super satisfying entry for this seductive series. I really enjoyed Randy and Mickie's story. The tension and chemistry between this couple was as evident as the connection they shared. They generate plenty of sparks and steam as their relationship evolves and the story unfolds. A well-crafted blend of emotion, drama, mystery, kink, danger and suspense had me eagerly keeping those pages turning. I am freely posting a frank review.

This has become a great series. We learn more about the different couples that belong to the BDSM club as each book is published.

Mickie has grown up to be independent, because she had to be. When she comes home and Randy realizes that he doesn't see her as a little sister, their attraction explodes. Mickie isn't sure she can be submissive, but as they learn to trust each other, they have their HEA.

Another great book in the Series

I absolutely continue to love each characters and storylines of all the Doms of Mountain Bend. This book again was entertaining and had awesome chemistry between the characters. The other books main characters of the previous books play a role that gives the story some depth of the whole community.
Great book keep them coming. I can't wait for the next one.

What an amazingly well written story, with deeply engaging characters. I have fallen for the Doms in Mountain Bend, with wonderful woman that make them even better men. Danger in the shadows, determination for independence and a desire for tenderness and love. This is a book you won't want to put down. It's great to get the back story of Randy and why sold the club and how he finds his HEA.

Fabulous book full of trust and loyalty, friendship, steamy hot sex and eventually love !! After a crappy childhood fate brought these two together and after 20 years these two finally realize that they were meant for each other!! After many misunderstandings these two finally find their HEA!! Go grab this book and enjoy this fabulous ride and don't forget to grab the other books in this series!! Love this author and this series!!

Another great book in this series. I like the simplicity of its stories. There's always some twist or action backed plot but it's not heavy and doesn't drag the story more than necessary. There were many characters in this book that beg to have their own stories. Master Simone is one of them . I wish his story is next, the darker the better. Recommended!.
