If you enjoyed Lee Child's Jack Reacher series, you'll love Rob Walker's story of unwavering loyalty and justice. Their mistake? They should've made sure he was no longer breathing.

If you enjoyed a book, consider adding it to Listopia!
I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. This in no way impacted my opinions.
Master Sergeant Rob Walker is on a mission in Africa and while he is there investigating a terrorist faction location the situation turns exceptionally unpredictable. They aren’t at a Sudanese terrorist camp but rather are at a gold mine! Suddenly a missile is shot and half his team has been killed. Somehow Rob Walker survives and soon after he discovers that it an American hellfire missile. He leaves the hospital before he is given the ok to leave and begins his own mission to find what has happened and try to get justice for his men.
This is the third book I've read by John Etterlee and once again he succeeded in writing a book that captured my attention and kept me up late that I enjoyed. I wouldn't have thought that these military thrillers would have been something that I would enjoy but I enjoyed it. The writing in this book has a great flow to it. I didn't feel that any of the writing needed any polishing or revisions. I highly recommend this book if you like thrillers, action, mysteries and suspense. There were some action scenes written into the story but nothing was too gory or too scary to deter me from reading. I look forward to reading another book if he decides to publish another book. I rate this book a 9/10.
Definitely worth the wait. Great storyline with action and good player dynamics. Background filler was just enough to inform and not overpower with a history lesson of the area or person. I look forward to read more Rob Walker!
I feel horrible being the first person to not give this 5 stars but here it is. I think the storyline is good but I wanted more character development. I've thought about how to say this and the best way I can think of is that I feel like I was told a story, but I wasn't invested in the story or its characters. I understood why Rob was doing what he was but I still don't know who he is. I'd like to see more insight into his character in book 3.
Wow, wow & more wow!. Great action packed thriller. Master Sergeant Rob Walker is out for retribution (aka: blood) after half his Special Forces team is killed while on a mission in Africa. Turns out they were someplace they shouldn't be & stumbled upon a gold mine so certain powers to be tried to take them out ... they missed one who is hell bent on avenging his brothers in arms. A true page turner; hard to put down once you start reading. Rob Walker is going to be fantastic series if this one is any indication. Highly recommend this book. John Etterlee has a winner for sure in it.
Rob Walker is a Special Forces soldier who is on operations in Africa. The team get information on a base being used by insurgents. On arrival they find its a mine then the team is attacked and half of the team is killed. Rob I'd injured and then discovers that it's a corrupt government agency that has carried out the attack. Rob will not rest until he finds out who ordered his team killed. He returns to the US and starts to discover who was responsible. This is a,very good book and keeps you wanted yo discover who was behind the attack.
I could not finish this book; I just didn't care about any of the characters. The reason is that the only difference between the people are their names. What do they look like? How old are they? What is their character? Do they have a unique call sign. There is no difference between the person in charge and the minion who enters the room. It is difficult to picture a scene when no picture is offered. I believe this author knows his subject thoroughly but he does not paint a picture for the layperson to see clearly. Sorry, Mr. Etterlee, I just could not finish this book.
It follows a time trodden path of vengeance. The usual action the usual right friends in the right places and the usual inept enemy Walker tears through the bad guys killing anyone and everyone, except cops, cos they are good guys, who don't know any better. Yet he kills security guards, who will have almost certainly been Secret Service. The disparity in logic annoyed me
Excellent Rob Walker story. When half his team is killed and he is wounded, Rob looks for answers. What he finds out is terrible and he goes looking for Retribution. Full of action and good storytelling, you won't want to stop reading until you reach the end. Definitely recommend this book and hoping for more Rob Walker books.
Deserves way more than 5 stars and would look fantastic on the big screen. After half of Rob Walker's team are killed he vows to get the people responsible as they think they are above the law. He is like a rollercoaster with no brakes so hold on tight for the ride of your life as this is one book you definitely don't want to miss.
There are times when must take the necessary steps to right wrongs that most people will never be aware of. Master Sargeant Rob Walkerwas forced to right the wrongsthat killed his friends and brothers in arms. Sometimes iat requires more than a pound of flesh.
I just finished reading these two books by John Etterlee, and I am a new fan of his. Everyone who has served and will serve in the military, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for fighting for our country. These were very well written, and I couldn’t put them down. Now, I need to get started on his third book.
The 4th John Etterlee book in a week. Last Bob Walker one in the trilogy coming up. Marginally better than the previous ones although continues to lack research, remains woefully poorly written and is rather predictable & repetitive. Last one to come on the flight home and then onto a better storyteller.
Rob Walker is a great character and the plot is great as well. My criticism comes from Rob being Superman and the story line sometimes being disjointed. Even Mitch Rapp, Reacher, The Gray Man and Evan Smoak cannot operate with the type of wounds inflicted upon Rob. I would otherwise rate this book 5 stars.
Rob has his hands full this time and he has gone rouge. His challenges are enormous. His task is justice. Not everyone thinks his actions are correct or even legal. How deep does this corruption go
Well folks if you believe there is corruption and dirty tactics within various government etc throughout the world and I do. Then this book is an excellent read. Loved every page. Only complaint is the damn book kept me reading well into the late hours.
A good story well-told. Sadly, a few dollars invested in a proofreader would have elevated this effort from 3 stars to at least a 4 star rating. Hard to follow a good storyline with clumsy verbiage.
Sometimes, fiction resembles real life. The main character is ruthless, but filled with sadness at losing his brothers in arms in a despicable act of greed carried out by officials that are supposed to protect us. Awesome weaponry and tactics. Conrad Samayoa
I was hopeful about this series, slogging through excess military jargon at the beginning. But the author lost me when the hero callously shoots a fellow American for literally no reason. Buh-bye
After his unit attacked and half are killed, Rob Walker goes looking for answers. What he finds, is a conspiracy and corruption at the highest level and friendly fire ordered to take out his unit. Rob aims to make them pay and goes looking for retribution.
Considering a whole hear about deep state activities, the story while far-fetched is really not impossible to believe. Enjoyed the story line and it kept me interested and I cannot wait for the third installment.
This was a read that I would classify as low average. The story was very good but I found the writing to be a little disjointed. It seemed that how or why some things happened were not explained, forgotten or maybe edited out.
But for that to happen in the upside down world we currently live in, somebody has to stand up, take some risks and do what is necessary. Its !it's more difficult for those that do when other men don't take action!
This story hits home for any veteran! The sequence of the story flows perfectly and it hits close to our flawed government right now. This is 1 of 3 books in a series and the author has really done excellent work!
Well finished it, but don't think I'll do another one if the author is going to do another sequel. Really don't recommend this one or the first one - better stuff out there.
Well written story full of action and intrigue .fast paced . Seems very similar to a film that had been on TV a couple of years ago . Totally enjoyable
Strong characters with believable plots and sub plots. Enjoyable action reading that keeps you turning the pages with a anticipation of what comes next.
