Marelo studies water dragons. Bandor studies her heart.
Driven to succeed, Marelo focuses on her studies. She doesn’t have time for males claiming her as a mate. She came here to study the dragon’s ancestral home. She will find the evidence she needs while avoiding all males especially Bandor who makes her heart rush.
Bandor takes one look at Marelo and knows she’s his mate. Her haughty demeaner doesn’t put him off. She’s his mate, he’ll do anything to win her. But he has secrets only his mate can know. Can he convince her to be his mate or will it take something more?
USA Today Bestseller Author Eileen Troemel writes action packed and emotionally powerful fantasy, scifi, romance. She’ll try almost any genre if it means she can tell a good story. In addition to her writing, she loves to read, crochet, and research genealogy. Her best days are spent with her family of three adult daughters and her husband or writing.
Short, sweet, and to the point, and though I wanted more of this little lovely package I gotta say I'm not disappointed at all, even though I wanted to smack Marelo on a few occasions 😅. One of my favorite things about mates is that good ole touching that sets their hearts ablaze.
“Retracting her hand, she stepped back. Her flushed cheeks and sparkling eyes told him she was as affected by his touch as he was by hers.” - This is one of the scenes that forces Marelo to be honest about her feelings for Bandor.
Overall, Marelo is a delightful quick read that leaves you craving for more.
A very sweet light short story about a smart and prickly woman, and her fated mate winning her heart. I really enjoyed the little details in their interactions and the descriptions of the beach most of the story takes place on. It easily stands alone but hints at a bigger world in the follow-up short stories still to come.
This was a really great read that grabbed my attention and kept me reading until the last page. It moves along at a great pace, has interesting characters and a story that will not disappoint. This book needs to be read and on your TBR list. You will not be sorry that you did.
This story was much shorter than I was expecting. There were plenty of typos, no spicy scenes, and the last 30% of this book was an excerpt from a different unrelated book, I assume to pad the page read counts for KU. I enjoyed the Celtan Dilemma, so checked out this story next. My advice to other readers is to not waste your time with this story.
Marelo is one stubborn creature! She’s involved in her studies of water dragons and will not be deterred for any reason. And especially by Bandor, who is charged with keeping the beach where they meet protected and free from interlopers. When Marelo captures his heart from the moment he sees her, he’s concerned that her studies will bring people to the beach. What can he do? He knows she’s his mate—though she refuses to admit it—and he harbors a secret he can’t reveal until his mate acknowledges him. Seems like a catch-22.
This is quite short, which makes it great for the beach or simply an afternoon in the backyard. I thought it was wonderful.
Marelo and Bandor have a sweet story. I enjoyed their interactions and the fact that even though they are fate mates there is some hesitation. Very interesting and well written read.
Such a nice story and a nice breather from all the dark books I've been reading. I personally enjoyed the fact it reads quickly and yes it has fated mates and I so love that even after reading it countless times. But yes fated but isn't won over immediately so I can picture this happening.
Marelo is a sweet story Marelo is doing research on the the mythical water dragons. When she meets Bandor who keeps the Inlet safe and the water dragons protect. The last thing Marelo wants is a true mate and she does everything she can to not claim her true mate. Bandor is ready to claim his true mate but he nos Marelo is not ready so he has to be patient and wait until she is ready but he is not sure she will ever be ready I lovely sweet short story
Eileen Troemel brings us a tale of troubled love (and dragons!) with the intriguing short fantasy romance Marelo! Marelo has come to a beach cove to study water dragons, but is met with resistance from Bandor who fears encroachment on the habitat. But despite the tension, love grows between them in this sweet short adventure. I really loved how Troemel interspersed this sweet love story in a land that hints at a larger world! Things felt lived in (in a good way), the beach was beautiful, and Marelo and Bandor have nice tension that leads to a satisfying end. If you love fantasy, romance, and nice quick reads, definitely book a trip to the beach with Marelo!
I really enjoyed this short story. It's got quite an interesting style of writing. It's a simple, cosy story told from one point of view. A love story with a happy ever after.
