Elkezdtük a kölkökkel a ráhangolódást, már az adventi díszek is a lakásban (jó, még dobozban, de előttünk a hétvége). Claude még mindig jópofa, Bolyhos Zokni uraság meg hihetetlen arc. A szöveg is remek, bár azért kimondatnám néhányszor a fordítóval Suvikszcipőék nevét. Vicces volt, kalandos, tökéletes kezdés. Ó, igen, és bekuckózik egy könyvvel, egy bögre teával és némi keksszel. Meg is van a holnap esti program.

This book is a delight. It had myself, my hubby and my little one in hysterics. Well my little one just laughed at all the illustrations, but I must say they were beautifully drawn. I laughed from beginning to end and fell in love with this Christmas adventure. From Sir Bobblysocks himself, to the endearing, hilarious little dog, Claude, to the havoc and mayhem he caused to the beautiful Christmas feel, this book was the perfect Christmas Eve read.
It is a very action-packed story, with lots going on as ever, and the artwork is perfect. There were several pages that felt really well thought- out, such as when Claude is found wearing a headlamp, which he uses to read his books in bed and must go exploring to found out what is making these huge bumps and sounds at night. So the page is blank with only this white light from Claude's headlamp illuminating Sir Bobblysocks and part of the text on the page which is such a great effect. The artwork was truly one of my favorites of this book.
Claude himself is brilliant as well. We see him hunting around in his beret, which is similar to our old time favourite Mary Poppins' bag, pulling out an enormous book. He borrows Santa's trousers which are way to big for him. He causes havoc and mayhem, whilst also still managing to save the day! He's such a cheeky, happy little dog, throwing himself into everything he does with great passion and energy! I felt like I was taking on a great adventure from start to finish.
I will definitely be reading more of Claude and Sir Bobblysocks adventures in the future. And if you enjoy illustrated books with some awesome humor, then children and adults alike will love this book.

Claude and Sir Bobblysock helped PC Ann Cuffs out of a tricky situation during the day on Christmas Eve so she gave Claude a pair of handcuffs and now that their busy day of helping out around the city is done, Claude is inspired to curl up with a book on cops and robbers after his owners leave for a Christmas party. When Claude hears someone in the next room, he and Sir Bobblysock pluck up some courage and capture the invader, handcuffing him to a chair. Then they turn on the lights to find out who snuck into the house on Christmas Eve night...and then they realize they may have a bit of a problem on their hands, especially when Claude can't find the keys to the handcuffs.
So clever readers will figure out who the invader is long before Claude turns on the lights. And of course, Claude and Sir Bobblysock then have to go deliver presents because of who they locked up. Their Christmas adventures are memorable and funny. A humorous Christmas read.

Claude is home alone on Christmas Eve and he's tucked into bed with Sir Bobbly Sock and a good book. But some odd noises in the middle of the night get him out of bed and into an accidental predicament where he handcuffs the "intruder" to a chair. This sends him off into a humorous adventure to help Santa save Christmas for the rest of the night. Will he make it home in time before Mr. and Mrs. Shiny Shoes know he's been gone?

Miss 4 thought it was okay but wasn't too fussed. We did like that it has plenty of illustrations.
Miss 4 and I like to explore different books and authors at the library, sometimes around particular topics or themes. We try to get different ones out every week or so; it's fun for both of us to have the variety and to look at a mix of new & favourite authors.

Claude needs to help Santa save Christmas when he mistakenly handcuffs him to his house. Funny in the middle, but the funniest part of these books is that Mr. and Mrs. Shinyshoes never know the adventures he has between them leaving him asleep at the beginning of the book and coming back to him asleep at the end of the book. Pretty silly stuff.

Чудесна книга за начинаещи читатели – като рисунки, шрифт и текст. Подходяща за деца над 5 години.
Рекламира се като текст, написан с чувство за хумор, но чак пък да е с чувство за хумор – не е кой знае колко, особено ако го сравняваме с поредицата „Заек и мечка“ :). Но е приятна книжка с приятни герои.
Вече и с въпросник в Книговище.

I'm getting to read the Claude books all over again with child no. 2, which I am very happy about. This went down very well indeed!
