Rate this book
Monkey and Robot are back with more adventures.

In this beginning reader graphic novel, the two show how much fun opposites can have together. They try to become superheroes, to travel back in time, to study turtles, and to become famous. Robot is the practical one while Monkey has the creative ideas. The two combine for a lot of zany humor and sweet friendship.

Another welcome addition to this growing series of early chapter graphic novels about friendship.

In four short stories, Monkey attempts to become a superhero, become famous, wants to become a turtle, and tries to travel back in time so he can eat a chocolate-frosted peanut butter banana cookie - all with Robot's help.

Each of these stories are both charming and funny in their innocence and heart. Monkey is sincere and passionate, Robot is thoughtful and loving. While Monkey may not always succeed at what he tries, he makes the attempt and is happy with the results. Neatly laid out in frames, Catalanotto's B&W line artwork is filled with lots of shades of gray and just as much action. These two are constantly on the go.

This series should be a sure-fire hit for beginning readers who want to read independently. Highly Recommended for PreS-grade 3.

Monkey has some wild ideas about becoming famous, studying turtles by dressing up like a turtle, and maybe becoming a superhero from a radioactive spider bite. Robot patiently helps Monkey to realize that his flights of fancy are not always smart, but there are other ways to realize his dreams in smaller more manageable ways.

This is a weird little comic. The art work is not very good, and looks like a child drew it. The storylines are extremely simple and kind of boring. I guess it has a sort of innocent charm that a child might enjoy, but it is not very polished or professional-looking.
