Sometimes you find love in the most improbable place.
Moore doesn’t want anything from the council. They weren’t there when he and his friends needed them the most, and now that they’re reaching out, he takes great pleasure in throwing that back in their faces.
At least until he realizes his mate works for them.
Jolyn knew Moore was his mate since the first moment he saw him. He kept it to himself, since Moore is technically an enemy of the council, but he doesn’t know what to do.
When Moore and his people need help, he can’t avoid reaching out to the council, no matter how little he likes it. Meeting his mate, who works and lives with the council assassins, means Moore will have to play nice.
Is that possible in a world where people are still locked in cages and tortured?
Catherine is the creator of several series, most of them paranormal, including the Whitedell Pride Series and the Gillham Pack Series. While she graduated in translation, she decided to go the writer’s way because it was more fun to create her own stories and characters. She’s been living in Italy for more than twenty years, but she’s a daughter of the North—Belgium to be precise—and she misses it so much that she’s already planning to move back. She loves pizza—probably too much —her pets, and of course, books. She sneaks some reading time in her schedule every time she has five minutes free from writing, demands from her various pets and son, and lastly, housework.
This is clearly a spin off series. I was able to follow along but it would definitely make sense to read previous books in this world to understand tall the players and the name drops.

Very disappointing.. started off good, Joylan was not leaving his family for this ragtag group of vigilantes for a whole 5 minutes.. very sad that he didn't try to get his mate to see that Moore's group is no better than the people they're fighting.. Series is not off to a good start
This is not the first book I'm read like this, but I gotta say right from the start I got hooked on this one, I can't say for sure what drew me in right off the bat, but I couldn't put it down once I started reading.
From what I have read online this book is in the same universe as her other books, so some of the characters could be in her other books, so it would definitely make sense to read previous books in this world to understand something's in this book about characters maybe, though you don't have to read the others in order to fulling enjoy this book or even understand what is going on.
