I having dreadful luck finding awesome sci-fi/monstrous romances lately.

this one is bad. And even worse the author admits they needed to have this edited but they still put it out! The tenses change every other sentence and I just couldn't continue.

**I received this book as an ARC from the author in an exchange for an honest review, all thoughts are my own.**

When I sat down to start reading this book, I just thought I’d read a little bit before bed just to unwind, but then I ended up reading the whole thing. I was immediately intrigued by the world being set up, first with Drakion in Torrent, a dimension home to the Dragons and the Arachnid and magic. Then we switch over to Alex who lives on Earth and seems to have a pretty normal life living on a farm with her mother. I really enjoy a kind of worlds colliding story and that what this story brings when Drakion and Alex come together and what consequences that brings and the spiciness it brings.

All that to say I very much enjoyed this book. The characters were well written and had dimension. The sex scenes were descriptive and HOT! I also thought they were well paced throughout the book, have some plot and then oh here’s some sexual tension for you. For as much as I here for the spice, which was what originally brought me to read this book, the plot of the story drew me in even more. This is my first Dragon/Human romance and I’ve only just started reading monster romance books and so far I like what I’m reading.

My one criticism is that I wish we had seen a bit more of Alex and Drakion’s time together. There are a lot of time jumps, but I understand that there were other things the author wanted to tell.

Overall, this book really drew me in, and I am looking forward to reading more in the world. Which given that this is book one, I can’t wait for the rest of this series.

I stumbled across the author looking for more ARC readers for honest reviews. Of course I was like hell ya!

I absolutely love the energy and uniqueness of this book. I don't think I've ever read a book with so many different creatures (is that the correct word?). It was a page turner for sure! I read it all in one sitting!

I enjoyed the book a lot, however I feel like there could have been more to it. It was a fast pace adventure. But I feel like giving more details would've helped, such as when Alex was avoiding Drakion you knew what she was doing, but more on what he was doing would've been interesting too. Like did he really just lay there healing or did he venture off? Peek in the windows at random hours of the night? I knows there was so back and forth but not much.

This was a quick and easy monster romance read with spice and interesting characters! The dynamic between Alex and Drakion was very back and forth as both characters have a lot of pride and are prone to miscommunication. Though there were some sweet scenes and dialogue between them later on, I would have liked to see more development with their relationship.

The conflict with a certain male character was interesting, but it felt somewhat disjointed from the plot. I’m curious to see what happens with some of them, especially Torken, as I hope he gets his own happy ending and finds the mate he’s been longing for. I’m also curious to see what happens with the dragon queen and her need for vengeance.

I do feel that the writing could use some development and additional editing as there were some issues with punctuation, jumps between 3rd and 1st point of view, and inconsistency between present and past tense. Of course these can happen for any author, but I found myself getting pulled out of the story by it.

Overall, it was an entertaining and fast read.

**Disclaimer: the author sent me an ARC copy in exchange for my honest review.**

This was a fast, easy read with very interesting main characters and storyline. I would like to see the relationship develop more, as it was very fast paced. I look forward to the next installment. I also hope to see Torken, a supplemtary character get his own happy ending.

Short, Sweet, with Spice

I was given an ARC copy for an honest review.
I really enjoyed this story. I will admit, at the beginning I did anticipate Drakion to shift into a more human form (this was before seeing the cover), but after seeing the cover, the coupling didn't bother me. Their relationship is very fast tracked, and I would've enjoyed seeing more development between them in the story, but this was a great short, sweet, *add a little bit of spice* story! Can't wait to read the rest of this series!

This book has heat in spades...and not just from the fire-breathing dragon!

Drakion just wants a peaceful, solitary life after his mate and unborn hatchling are murdered.

Alex just wants to take care of her mom when an injured dragon shows up on her doorstep.

Then a mysterious stranger threatens the simmering chemistry before all hell breaks loose.

There are some grammatical and structuring issues that makes it a little of a choppy read for me. But the storyline and world-building have huge potential!

This is an honest review for an ARC given by the author.

I received and ARC from the author in return for an honest review.

Another good read from Melissa Blincoe. I will say this is a VERY fast paced read, but I'd rather read something fast paced than something slow and plodding. There's some hot sex, but as always, I just wish there more sex! But that's just me...

There are some similarities with Melissa's other works, namely the alien men and the human women. There are a few different alien races introduced in this volume, which is pretty cool. Dragons, vampires, spider-people, all cool. Insta-love is big in this one, but the theme of most of Melissa's work is "chosen mates", so the insta-love makes total sense in that regard.

You enjoy alien romance novels with a little graphic violence and more graphic sex, pick this one up.

I really, really wanted to like this. Honestly, the story had a ton of potential, but it seemed like it hadn't been edited. There were constant errors. Often these were punctuation errors and it left me so confused because these mistakes left paragraphs almost unreadable.

And everything just happened so fast with no build up. Which I somewhat expected. It's a short book, so of course the story is going to progress quickly. However, the entire book moved so fast that I often found myself checking the page number expecting to have read 50-60 pages and only having read 10-20.

So TL:DR? The pacing of the story moves so quickly that it leaves the reader in a daze and then you're knocked completely out of the story by the constant errors.

I got an arc copy of this book. Here's my honest review.

This felt like a draft. A very rushed draft.

This book contains a hero that is actually an alien, he doesn't shift and is not humanoid.

The things that really bothered me;

1) I know it's not literal cheating, but they did meet, were intimate and since things didn't move forward, she started dating a hot guy from the bar 😏. I didn't get it. He's a dragon. In your barn. You're giving off mixed signals. What exactly were you expecting of him?

2) The h herself was abnoxious, at least to me. I had the feeling all throughout the book that she doesn't really know what she wants. The guy she was dating was drugging her, she was dozing off, yet she still went on with the show.

3) It felt like being a dragon in 2022 Earth isn't a big deal. Their world is this mythical place in another dimension, right? Why was she acting like he's not all that? Also, how the hell could he get under the table to eat her out?? 😯

4) He felt they were mates and it started promising, yet later on it didn't really feel like it. She just gave into the hot sex.

5) Everything happened soooo quickly! The story wasn't developed like it should have been, forget the grammar, the story just wasn't what it could have been, and it could have been really great.

I was sad to see the vampire hottie go though. His could have been a really great story in the following books.

The author painted the world I like and am familiar with, so I am looking forward to other books, I'm hoping the stories will be longer and more developed.

🔥 “My love for you burns so brightly, it could consume every dimension. Burning everything in its divine and breathtaking glory.”
~~~
Drakion just wants to escape the Torrent and live his life in peace after everything he’s been through and all the loss he’s suffered. He’s one surly, arrogant, possessive and bossy male. But there is more to him than meets the eye - he’s also fiercely protective, loyal, dangerous and strong. I loved him!
And Alex is the perfect woman for him! I loved her inner fire and feistiness. Even more, she’s so caring, compassionate and brave. And she’s such a wonderful daughter. In addition, I adored her strength to express her feelings even at the cost of being hurt. She’s amazing!
I loved the development of their relationship. There was so much tension and denial. But, from the first moment they met, their chemistry was fantastic. Alex and Drakion had a long journey towards acceptance and love. But when they finally surrendered to their undeniable attraction, the steam level reached scorching hot levels. They were truly a fantastic match!
In addition, the worldbuilding and the storyline were fantastic. I loved the different dimensions and the multidimensional travel. In addition, I really liked Torken and can’t wait to read more about him.
Overall, the story is a great fast-paced read filled with adventure, danger, action, twists, drama, steamy romance and wonderful characters.
I loved it and cannot wait to see what happens next!
Sounded good...until...
Concept was fine and I know you can only do so much with 160 pages or so but I felt like it was kind of written by a somewhat inexperienced high school kid. I was not invested in any character at all. The story didnt seem to flow well either and some parts were a bit confusing. Also, there seemed to be more time spent writing about her and her interactions with the vampire than her and the dragon. One minute she seemed like she hated the dragon and the next thing she was confessing her love for him, I had to go back and make sure I didnt miss some pages some where. AND PEOPLE I got to know. Where did she get the money for all those steaks?? And how much hentai porn did the author watch to think it was normal for a womans belly to swell like that much with so much cum, that drool should drip down her chin, and have her eyes cross , while she smiled stupidly during sex. Was kinda weird by this point.
and hatchling, what he doesn't expect is to find the human who is taking care of him is his second mate Alex. Alex lives a simple life of hanging out with her friends and helping her mom who has cancer, but taking care of a dragon is not what she is used to. I really enjoyed these characters and the story was short and sweet but the world building was excellent as well as the backstory of the characters. I cant' wait to read the next story, I really hope it is Torken's!
In an effort to avoid spoilers here are my thoughts.
This book is a short and undeniably sweet read. As well as holding a bit of spice. I wish I was better at putting my honest feelings about this book into words. I found the author on TikTok and had to check out her work. Needless to say I was not disappointed.
Just, wow.
If you love a beautifully woven story about interspecies/dimensional romance I would highly recommend Heart Flame.
Im giving my initial reaction. I adored the LMC. He is simple adorable to be loved in his need to be loved but also not take away the FMC desire to have a choice. I understand that their relationship began with lie by omission but he gave her a chance by talking with her to know him. FMC is cute as well as she falling for a dragon; she discovers herself. I don't like the vampire villian and I'm glad he dies "for touching what doesn't belong to him". I wanted more steam scenes but that's me.
I loved the book! Overall it was good. Some parts felt rushed but it had a good plot. And the spice was GOOD 🔥🔥🔥🔥 whew. Had a girl fanning herself. So spice was 5/5 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶 I loved all of the characters. I honestly can’t wait to see the rest of the series. I’m hoping it includes more Torken! He makes me laugh.
So good!! It is realistic in the sense that men are clueless to women (regardless of species) but you really do fall in love with the characters! The book may be closer to a novella for me (I normally read 300+ page books) but it makes you crave the next book to see the story, not just the couples but also the end of the villains!
Enjoyable read
This story was entertaining. I enjoyed everything about this book. The dragon losing his mate made me furious because of who did it. I'm glad he found Alex and everything she went through also was pretty messy but all in all it was a good start to a new series. ENJOY.
Going to book 2 now!
This steamy fated mates and cross species book was a fast and easy read that captured my attention. While the pacing seemed extremely quick and the instant love threw me off a bit I enjoyed it. The spice was great to read and I am excited to read book 2 and see how the characters grow!
This was a cute angsty read. It's the first in a series. Definitely spicy! Sexy dragons, chittering spider men, creepy vamps & sassy FMC. You should give it a go. It is a quick read though.
That was a cute, little read. I liked the slow burn. I think it would of been excellent with a little more world building and romance building in more detail, but a nice read.
Honored to receive an ARC of this story. Being an ARC, there were a few errors that I'm sure will be edited out by the time of full release!
This story is a fated mates & falls somewhere between an enemies to lovers and an instant love. I'd rate it a 3/5 🌶, because you don't get full on 🌶 until the end. TW- consensual 🌶 between different species (human & dragon). Definitely set up well continue on to the next story and I look forward to reading it.
Grabbed this bookie off Kindle Unlimited and it did have a few typos, missing punctuation, and some instances of confusion (for me) in regards to whether the 1st person or 3rd person P.O.V. was being used as the characters narrated their chapters. If that's a deal breaker for you, just pass this one up. These were small annoyances for me but did not impact my enjoyment of the story overall.
It was a quick, digestible, lovely read. Didn't feel rushed and read like a novella but definitely think there's room for expanding into novels. I liked the story, am now invested, and can't wait to read more! Rooting for Torken but wouldn't mind having my own Drakion around. Heavily thinking into side tracking into some of Blincoe's other series/books.
