This book is about a truck named Max who gets stuck under a bridge. I enjoyed this book because it shows that trying every option is not necessarily a bad thing. I would use this book as a fun little read at the end of the school day.
My son guffawed at the silliness in this book. While not my favorite, it seemed to speak to him. Kids find the weirdest things funny lol! It was a cute short read.
Uh-Oh Max is the rare Level 1 easy reader that is actually easy to read. It was way too simple for Christopher, and I should have made him select a second book, but I was anxious to get to my own reading (horrible, I know), so I let it slide.
I would recommend this book to parents with early readers, especially those that love cars/trucks. Max is silly. He loves jumping off of things, and he gets stuck under a bridge. One by one, other vehicles help him get unstuck. The writing is repetitive, which is perfect for a new reader. And of course as soon as he's free, he does another crazy stunt and gets himself stuck again. It was a fun read.
Max manages to get stuck and asks everyone to come help. My favorite is when gabby comes and tries to help by talking him out I will never understand why that did not work..... Ages 4 + great book for beginning readers.
Simple, silly story of Monster Turck Max who gets stuck and needs help from Trucktown's other citizens. Vocabulary is limited enough that this book can be read to the sqirmiest if toddler. There is a necessary injection of humour to keep the adults intersted for the 75th time.
This is an easy reader for your beginners readers with few words on each page. It has simple repetitive words that students can easily decode as well as descriptive pictures that assist in the decoding process. This is a cute book and would entertain the boys learning to read.
