Books have always been an escape for me, and I’ve been an avid reader/ library dweller for as long as I can remember. About eight years ago I sat down and wrote my first short story, and then another, and another. I couldn’t believe the euphoric feeling I was experiencing, and it hadn’t come from reading.
The ideas took over and I wrote my first book. I felt so accomplished and then apprehensive about sharing it with others. It was too raw, too dark, too offensive, just too much, and I was too afraid of public opinion. So, I put it away and sat on my book baby for the next 6 years.
Within that time, I had a beautiful daughter, and I’ve spent the last year enjoying every moment I can with her. It’s important to me that I instill in her the confidence to never be afraid to follow her dreams and realized that I’m not leading by example.
So, I woke up with renewed determination and published Fortress. The first in a three-book series. It was terrifying, exhilarating, and just flat out overwhelming, and I’m so glad I did it.
Also, I love photography, tattoos and restoration projects. I spend most of my time at home with my daughter and our two dogs. You can typically find me day dreaming about what I'm going to write in my next book.
