Rate this book
Camilla Glen is still nursing her broken heart as she was prevented from marrying the man she loved. Forced into an arranged marriage by her father, she finds herself next to a frigid stranger who owns a railroad empire in the Wild West. Her heart rebels against the match, yet Dalton, her new husband, is not who she first thinks he is… Camilla discovers the tender soul he hides under his thick skin just when she abandoned any hope of finding true love.

Will she be able to lay aside her doubts and give Dalton a chance?

Dalton Stimpson seems like a man obsessed with his business, cold and distant, just like his father. The truth is, he is a torn man, longing for a carefree future but as the eldest son of a railroad tycoon, he feels he has to fulfill his role in the empire. As he falls in love with his wife, Camilla, their common dream of a new beginning, fuels his own wish to create a peaceful life in the countryside.

However, escaping the tight grasp of his duties will not be an easy task to accomplish…

Even though at first glance, Camilla and Dalton don’t seem like the perfect match, they are soon proven to be kindred spirits. When unexpected forces attempt to drive them apart, will they be able to stay true to their new feelings? Or will they let their dreams be shattered once again?

This is the story of two very manipulative controlling families, that are determined to control their children. Of course, growing up with that type of parents, the children who are now grown, Camilla and Dalton, don't really know how to stand up for themselves. Makes you just want to shake Dalton "snap out of it man!", but our upbringing certainly affects how we act. Their parent have decided they will marry, even though they have never met, since "it makes sense for the business." Dalton and Camilly are very upset, but they follow what their parent have decided. As they talk and get to know each other, things are different than they had assumed. They might start to actually like each other. It is a little slow going, but the story is worth it. They do find some courage. Read the extended epilogue to pull it all together.

when Rails of Destiny Cross

Definitely different. Clarrisa ‘s father arranged for her to marry a railroad tycoon’s son. She is upset and very angry. Dalton is completely dominated by his control abscesses father of the largest railroad. Montgomery has a violent temper and is only concerned with the success of his ventures. Quite by accident, the unhappy couple find they both love nature, especially animals. Peter the younger son is treated miserably by his father because of minor discretions in he younger days. In the end the father goes too far in his manipulation. An interesting read.

Absolutely amazing and inspiring journey

One of the best stories I’ve ever read. I absolutely loved this amazing journey of adventure, mystery and family. The characters are definitely interesting and entertaining. They’re all very realistic and make the story most interesting and inspiring. I enjoyed everything about it. Need some editing but other than that it’s absolutely a beautiful story. The extended epilogue gives it an excellent happy ending for Dalton and Camilla. Excellent writing. Definitely a must read. Congratulations.

Forced to Marry! Both Camilla and Dalton are forced to marry by controlling fathers. They've never met and both resent the marriage. Then, they begin to talk...
This is a good premise for a story. The story dragged and repeated the same feelings / beliefs too often. Book didn't become interesting till half way into story. This book is disappointing; not up to author's usual writing. 2 1/2 stars.

Great Story

Despite how they ended up getting married Camila and Dalton end up falling in love. When they decide to leave his family's house and his Dad's railroad business, so that he can do what he wants on life. His Dad becomes furious and doesn't understand. What happens next is truly amazing. This really is a really good story.

The rich and powerful are just children getting their own all the time and leaving themselves behind

Betrayal and lies are the forefront of this book. It weaves its way through two families and so called good intentions. But there are triumphs pushing through the madness.

Review

This was a great story but when its listed as inspirational reading I am offended that you would have several instances of Montgomery taking Gods name in vain. Those statements could have been different. Because of that language I cannot recommend it to anyone.

just ok

I did not enjoy the constant anger with the father. It made reading this uncomfortable. I also did not like the way the characters spoke , almost in incomplete sentences.

Just so-so

There were quite a few editing errors ( extra words it incomplete sentences)
I did not like the author's style. Way too much repetition and thought. Not a lot of action and no sense of relating to the characters.

Senseless.

What a waste of time. Only read nine (9) pages. Some may find story worthwhile !!! Good luck with that...

I really enjoyed this story with it's odd charter being the Father. Sad in so many ways, but has a wonderful ending for the rest of the family. A very interesting story!

I held off writing this review because I really enjoyed the story as I usually do with a story from Grace Clemens, but there were so many grammatical errors that I couldn’t enjoy it as much as I would have liked. I got no response from author to my note regarding these so I will review based on the stars given. 5 stars for story, 3 stars for overall enjoyment.
