From USA Today bestselling author Kelly Rey comes a mystery full of twists-and-turns and laugh-out-loud moments…

Legal secretary and reluctant sleuth Jamie Winters might have thought her hectic life was about to slow down...but she was dead wrong.

Vicious Vic Hartman is the tabloid Grapevine’s star reporter and celebrity host of television’s Grapevine Live. But he’s made lots of enemies on his climb to the top of the trash journalism heap, so when he’s found murdered after a party at his home, there’s no shortage of suspects. Which is why the victim's family hires Jamie and her sassy teenaged sidekick Maizy to figure out just which one of the not-so-grieving is his killer. Between Vic’s intimidating boss, a bitter ghostwriter, an unscrupulous would-be replacement, a jilted girlfriend, and an assortment of disgruntled neighbors and family members, the dynamic duo have their work cut out for them—not to mention trying to avoid the menacing Lincoln Park Loper and a creepy doll named Tara who may or may not be stalking them! Can they find the killer...before they become the next victims?

If she’s not in front of a keyboard, she can be found reading, working out or avoiding housework. Killer Confession Earns 5/5 Tabloid Headlines…Entertaining Cozy!

Jamie Winters is picking up essentials, mostly any sweet treat she could find, and trying to ignore her young friend Maizy Emerson pontificating on healthy foods and home cooking, but both stop as voices from the next aisle grabbed their attention. Maizy whispers, “…murder?…police?…shady?” One of the women was Heather Baddenlooper and the other her sister Gillian Hartman whose husband, the late Victor Hartman, was murdered. Dubbed Vicious Vic, he was well-known for his exposés that gave new meaning to the “gutter” press which often ruined careers and marriages. Maizy is excitied about another investigation, but her offer to provide assistance is not well received by the widow. The sister, however, knows answers are important for closure and the police seem slow to provide them. With so many injured as suspects, finding the killer could challenge even Hercule Poirot and Jamie hasn’t put their last encounter out of her head, but Maizy comes prepared with their new business name, number, and questionable credentials. You’re hired!

Brilliant Fun! Kelly Rey’s seventh adventure in her Jamie Winters series is quite a page turner filled with family angst, tabloid turmoil, festering secrets, angry jealousies, and karmic justice, then add an urban legend, cranky lawyers, and personal hygiene gone wrong for an absolutely entertaining read! Jamie is once again taken out of her comfort zone with Maizy’s overzealous attitude and snarky methods, but oddly, along with Maizy’s Uncle Curt and sort of boyfriend “G,” they get results. The murder mystery had the four amateurs off visiting spas, hair salons, tabloid headquarters, and cleverly undercover to get the answers they need, but luck runs out and they might not get out alive. Kelly’s writing style is very compelling fun with descriptive language, witty banter, humorous predicaments, perilous accidents, and diverse personalities. Page turner deluxe…with a hint of the next adventure!

I could not put this book down

I have been waiting what seems like forever for this installment to come out. I didn't think this Maizy, JAime and Curt story could get any better, it this proves different. I can imagine, when reading this series how well it would be in a movie. Kelly Rey, you are a comedy genius! Please don't wait too long before the next one. This writing raises the bar, in all the best ways. Bravo!

Killer Confession is truly a fun mystery! With a sassy, zany sidekick like Maizy, Jamie has to stay on her toes at all times as they investigate the murder of a tabloid reporter with way too many enemies. You do not want to miss Maizy's crazy schemes as she and Jamie search for clues. This well written, well plotted book has laugh out loud moments, witty banter, a bit of romance and may plot twists and turns. Before you begin reading, allow yourself sufficient time to finish the book as you will not want to put it down!

Hard to believe this is the seventh Jamie Winters book! Once again Jamie is forced into solving a murder by her wacky teenage sidekick Maizy. Behind her blue hair, Maizy comes up with more plans on how to investigate than Jamie is comfortable with trying. Between the two (and a few other wonderfully enjoyable characters) things are very exciting!
This is a book that is difficult to put down once you start reading, so be ready for a nice long afternoon or evening of fun, romance, and reading about bad cooking! Be prepare to giggle or laugh or snort as you enjoy this latest adventure of mystery!

Jamie Winters and her teenage sidekick, Maizy are at it again! While at the supermarket debating healthy versus junk food, Maizy hears a conversation in the next aisle and the word murder. That’s all she needs to hear, and the next thing she gets them hired as investigators to solve it. There are loads of quirky characters and Maizy’s schemes are getting crazier all the time. Aided at times by Maizy’s handsome uncle Curt, the pair are determined to solve the murder. If you enjoy quirky characters and lots of laughs, this book is definitely for you!

There are a few authors whose books I know that once I start I can’t put it down until I finish every last word. Kelly Rey is most definitely in my top 3. This series just hooks me right in from page one. I loved every minute. Can’t wait for the next adventure.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
I had only read book 1 before I got this one so immediately bought and read books 2-4 so I didn’t miss anything.

Bright light read that you can put down and pick up. A cast of quirky characters who probably solve more crimes by accident rather than solid detective work..but at the end of the day they get the bad guy without dying themselves. It's really a fun read so let go and enjoy...

This new Jamie Winters mystery was hilarious. Maizy is the best side-kick ever. Her attitude and comments were cracking me up throughout this book.

After forcing their way into getting a case, Jamie and Maizy began investigating the death of a well-known, but not well-liked, citizen in town. With a long list of suspects, and some crazy made-up aliases, Jaime and Maizy tried to get to the bottom of the mystery.

A fun, hilarious new addition to the series.
