I have now read every one of Stephen Becker’s Kurt Hunter and Mac Travis series. Admittedly, I do like books about water and these fulfill that “like”. The author is meticulous in describing detail and explaining what is happening. After about 25 of both these series I felt as though I knew the characters very well. Hunter is up by Miami and Travis is down by the Keys and every so often Becker overlaps them. He does manage to present unique stories even if they do cover a lot of drug smuggling and kidnapping. Again, after so many stories, I am amazed how he continues to keep me on the edge and not wanting to put the book down. So, I will now have to wait for him to write another new addition. I highly recommend you start with the early stories if you haven’t read these before.
Enough of this. Another one of those local Super smart cops/agents who know more than all the rest. Better than the city cops, puts the DEA, FBI and Customs to shame. How would any crimes ever be solved, any criminals arrested vin Miami Dade if it wasn't for thus dude. We wouldn't even know how to operate a boat if we didn't read these (non) thrillers. Wastes too much on mundane nonsense, same bays, same islands, creeks, canals, fishing holes every single novel. I hope for something new but get the same old sane old....
When you are the agent in charge for the park service, you do not expect to be finding dead bodies after a storm. When you do, you do not expect it to turn into a murder and involve drugs. Following the characters and their interaction makes this book flow from beginning to end and you wondering how much this follows real life. Another winner for this author.
I love this action, packed fast paste book.Steven Becker, right good clean books. No ugly words and no sex which I appreciate. He writes down in the Florida Keys. His description is absolutely awesome. You feel like you are right there with his descriptions of the keys and the national park. Yes I do recommend this book.
Kurt Hunter and crew try to solve another murder in Biscayne National Park. A great cast of characters, plenty of action, and a good storyline. Very enjoyable page turning story that I would highly recommend. Ready for the next Kurt Hunter adventure.
Once again the park rangers lead the way to bring down a drug cartel and save the U.S. Park services reputation. Johnny wells from ICE assists in the end to show all is well in Miami ciao from costa Rica...
This is a very good series, the characters are real and well developed. He adds new characters to the book and keeps the plot interesting. I am sad to be coming to the end of this series. It appears that book 15 to be released in March 2024 will be the last.
Kurt takes on drug smugglers using the park to bring them into Miami. But not everything is at it seems. Lots of adventure and action with Kurt, Ray, Sam and Jonny.
I am a big fan of Steven Becker and enjoy all his books. This series adds a little humor in with the drama that pleases me. Gotta love Sid and hid teasing Hunter.
