Just when I thought I was making progress with Ronan, Wells, Abel, and Bishop, all hell breaks loose.

I don’t know who to trust.

And the accusations flying around leave me wondering if I’m to blame for the chaos…

Or if I’m about to expose the truth once and for all.

More than my heart is at stake here.

➽ KITTY KATS CRAZY ABOUT BOOKS

📚'𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐄𝐅'📚 is the second full length book in author Hattie Jude's 'Loxley Prep' series. Spoken in 'Dual Perspectives.' Thief picks right up where the previous book left off. Flits between 'Past & present.' This can not be read as a stand-alone.

There I was thinking the first books cliffy was brutal, BUT how wrong was I..This cliffy had my mouth hanging open, not knowing what was going to happen next until the last book is in my hands does my head in, unsure how the author is going to wrap everything up because of it has my anticipation levels sky rocketing.

This one had more heat, more suspense, more questions, a kidnapper on the loose thinking it would be resolved only to be blindsided with even more questions which I'm guessing will be answered in the last book.

We get even more insight on what actually went down at Camp Capitree where this group first met, it's these scenes which had me glued to the pages garnering every little morsel the author threw my way.

I enjoy the dynamics of this group, the easy to follow storyline, and the characters themselves pull me in, when it comes to her Aunt though is another story, there's just something off about her, something not quite right and I can't wait to see if my theory is right or not.

Not much better than the first part. Ends on what was supposed to be a cliffhanger, but was predictable as hell, so… 2 stars

Thief is the second installment within the Loxley Prep series.

Just like the previous book, we are still following the same group of people: Abel, Wells, Bishop, Ronan, and Lennon. Of course, the drama is just as intense as well but so are the secrets. Hot damn, the secrets and holding certain information was driving me bonkers. Seriously, I just wanted to throttle Abel so many times.

So, yeah, Abel and Bishop were annoying for most of this book. I totally get why Bishop was acting like a fool but dang, it hurt to see Lennon hurt. I am glad, however, that she had Ronan and Wells because it was clear to everyone how they all felt about one another. It just sucks that they ended up betraying her.

The trust issues are intense and I'm just hoping that everything can be cleared in the next book. Mostly because I really want them all to have a happily ever after. They deserve it so much and then some. I would also like to see all the rat bastards who put them through so much torture, and everyone else at this hellish camp, to go down in flames. Whether they rot in jail until they die or if they just die.

Whoa

Gotta love a really good cliffhanger shocker. Especially when you don't have to wait to read the next book. Love is blooming, secrets are being revealed, and I'm all suspicious of some people now. This is really entertaining.

ALL MY REVIEWS CAN BE FOUND ON MY BLOG: ABSTRACT BOOKS

line

Star Rating : 4/5 Stars

POV : Multiple

Cliffhanger : Yes

Pace of the story : Moderate

Angst Rating : 4/10

Heat Rating : 5/10

Triggers Involved : Past Abuse / Trauma

Plot Summary :
Just when things were something out, things go to shit again for the heroine. Abel is one hell of a stubborn man and his brothers might have forgotten the betrayal but he certainly won't. And he will make her pay in ways she can't imagine.

Overall Opinion :
It's here! I have been waiting for this book for a long time. I loved the first book of this series and the cliffhanger left us wanting so much more. I have some answers to may questions but I know that a lot more is to come. Abel is ruthless and so are the other brothers. While the other brothers have forgiven Her, Abel won't.

His stubbornness sometimes irritated me because the truth was in front of him. They had seen the proof but still he was not inclined to believe it anyway. He was the one who also had suffered the most so I was willing to cut him some slack.

Recommending this trilogy to all the reverse harem loving people. If dark second chances romances ate your trope then go for this series!

The Loxley Prep series is my ultimate guilty pleasure read. Guilty pleasure has such bad connotations, but I’ll scream it from the rooftops that I love these books. I can’t get enough of the drama and spice.

Thief picks up immediately after Traitor as Lennon is living with The Valiant and Cassie is still missing. Based on her living situation, you can probably guess that Thief is spicer than its predecessor, Traitor, as Lennon explores her relationship with Ronan and Wells further. The scene between the three of them was HOT!

Thief moves the plot along slowly as Lennon fights for every scrap of information readers learn from The Valiant. By the end of the novel, I was just as frustrated with the lack of information as Lennon. Though the novel ends on a cliffhanger and I now have more questions than answers, I’m excited for the next novel, Lover! I’m also incredibly grateful it’s releasing June 9, 2022, so not a long wait at all for answers!

Overall, Thief ups the tension between Lennon and The Valiant while giving readers more questions than answers but ends with a cliffhanger that will keep readers on the edge of their seat desperate for the next novel.

Thief is Book 2 of the Loxley Prep series by Hattie Jude. It has been a bit since reading Traitor (Book 1), and I thought I may need to refresh myself. However, the writing flows so well and the characters are very memorable - it all came back after a few pages.

The book is told in multiple POVs and incorporates flashbacks to a “disciplinary camp” where Lennon and her boys initially met. Having to endure the camp together, they all became very close… until they weren’t… and the boys believed Lennon betrayed them. The characters are very mature given their age and what they’ve endured - it’s hard for me to remember they’re high school age!

Fast forward, despite their rocky relationship, Lennon is living with the boys. Half of them seem to have forgiven her but the others still don’t trust her. I really appreciate this dynamic - the author isn’t making anything too easy and given what they’ve all felt for so long, it comes across very realistic.

I loved the twists and secrets… and really can’t wait to find out what else will be revealed. While this book explained some of the mysteries from the first, I still have so many questions. I can’t wait to see if they get their revenge and if they get their happily ever after…

I’d be remiss not to mention the beautiful cover - stunning and perfect complement to Traitor’s cover. Much like the first book, this is definitely a slow burn - the focal point is on the plot and character development. I loved seeing the pieces of the puzzle slowly start coming together. I was in no way ready for the cliffy at the end (*plot twist*).

Highly recommend this if you’re looking for a dark, surprising RH tale!

Thief picks up where things were left with Traitor and you are instantly thrust back into the world of Loxley Prep.

Some questions are answered, more questions are brought up and there are plenty of twists and turns as the story continues. I love getting the flashback chapters from the camp and life after camp from Wells, Ronan, Abel, and Bishop. It gives some insight into where they are now and how they are feeling, especially towards Lennon.

The guys are starting to let their guards down more and more when it comes to Lennon. She has chemistry with all of them and I can’t wait to see where their relationships continue to go in the next book.

But can we talk about that cliffhanger?!? I was not expecting it and can’t wait to see where things go in the final book of this series.

If you’re looking for a romantic suspense, reverse harem, enemies to lovers romance this is one to read.

The drama and angst continue on in this book but I didn’t find it as exciting as the first. We still don’t know the full history between Lennon and the guys but more is revealed via flashbacks. Mostly I need to know why Abel loathes Lennon so much. Lennon came off a bit annoying to me this time around and rather than a hardened badass with a spine of steel we got an almost wet noodle and she was constantly crying. She does get closer with her other 3 guys though and even begins to stay with them which I’m still thinking was way too quick on her part. It’s hard to fathom how easily she falls into bed and even playing house with them given how they felt about her only months ago when she arrived. In some ways she wears her heart on her sleeve and is a bit too trusting with it and I wanted her to put her foot down with the guys once and for all. She can’t be blamed for the sins of her father and something that happened at age 12. Still not sure how Abel thinks she was even that involved in his evil ways when she was practically a child and being treated equally as bad. I’m ready to get answers and for this drama to end. Certain story lines are starting to drag and I’m ready for all the pieces to align and closure to be had.

Part 2 of the worst book series I've read in recent memory. It's as terrible as the first. Worse, even, because we get to read about the graphic sexual abuse of not 1 but 3 minor boys.

I should have stopped at the 66% mark after chapter 33. I should have, but now I'm committed to demolishing every bit of hype around ths series that's ever existed.

Nothing about this story is okay. Ronan and Wells are 12-13 when they're forced to sleep with a prostitute AFTER two adult guards have their way with her. We get to read about that same prostitute GRAPHICALLY RAPING Bishop.

If you're not utterly disgusted, you need therapy.

How ANYONE is okay reading about and GUSHING about these books is beyond me.

I am judging the FUCK out of everyone who gives this book series 5 stars.

The plot isn't well developed, the characters are shallow, the whole gulag thing is just stupid and unrealistic... nothing about this world or these people or this story is good enough to justify having to read about graphic child sexual assault.

i’m not even sure what to say. as soon as any of the guys show her attention it’s almost like she melts. that pisses me off. the guys have done horrible things to her and even one of them still thinks she lied even after she told him the truth. the fmc needed to make the guys work for it. (i was really wanting to see heavy groveling going on) but that didn’t happen.

safety for this book ( continuation of my review of book 1)

We find out Abel lied about Naomi being his girlfriend.
Flashback scene to when all the guys were forced to fuck an older woman after they got out of solitary.
Comment made about how one of the mmc’s has fucked many girls (after the fmc slept with him for the first time, Abel says this and makes sure she knows it didn’t mean anything to the other mmc since he had a revolving door of girls and they have so much more skill than her)
When they escape the camp, West is the last person to fuck someone out of the 4 of them. He mentions he fucks girls a lot and he becomes numb to it and pictures the fmc while he’s fucking them.

honestly as someone who’s a lover a dual virgin, i’m having a very hard time getting through this series. i don’t care if the fmc is a virgin but for me the hero’s have to be. i can’t stand mentions of them being manwhores and quite frankly i’m tired of hearing this multiple times throughout the book. can more authors please write a why choose romance with all virgin heros. is that so hard to ask for?

This series continues to get better and better! 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐟 is the second book in the Loxley Prep series and cannot be read as a standalone.

I love how the author continues to give us POVs for the guys showing us their past so that we can gain a better understanding of what happened at Camp Capitree as well as how they handled Lennon's abrupt removal from camp. And the realization that not everything appears as it seems.

“𝒀𝒐𝒖’𝒓𝒆 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒇𝒂𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓 . 𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝒏𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒘𝒆𝒓𝒆. 𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝒅𝒐𝒏’𝒕 𝒏𝒆𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝒑𝒂𝒚 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒔, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒊𝒕’𝒔 𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒆 𝒘𝒆 𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒑 𝒎𝒂𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒕𝒓𝒚.”

I love how the dynamic between Lennon, Ronan, and Wells continues to progress and get steamier and how Bishop is finally coming around as well.

“𝑰𝒇 𝑰 𝒂𝒎 𝒅𝒐𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒅, 𝑰 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒈𝒐 𝒅𝒐𝒘𝒏 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒂 𝒍𝒂𝒛𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒇𝒖𝒄𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒈𝒍𝒐𝒓𝒚.”
“𝑰 𝒅𝒐𝒏’𝒕 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒃𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒅𝒐𝒐𝒎, 𝑰 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒃𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒍𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕.”
“𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒎𝒚 𝒍𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕.”

As for Abel, I want to smack him upside the head and for him to quit denying his feelings and attraction toward Lennon. There is so much mystery shrouded around him that I can't wait to peel back his layers and get down to the depth of his emotions and pain to fully understand what happened to him at camp.

“𝑫𝒐𝒏’𝒕 𝒈𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒖𝒑 𝒐𝒏 𝒉𝒊𝒎 𝒚𝒆𝒕, 𝑳𝒆𝒏𝒏𝒐𝒏,”..... “𝑰𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝒖𝒔 𝒄𝒂𝒏 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝒂𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅, 𝒔𝒐 𝒄𝒂𝒏 𝒉𝒆.”

We continue to get more bits and pieces to the puzzle with some twists and turn thrown in but there are still so many questions that have yet to be answered. And that cliffhanger?!?!?!?!? I 𝐂𝐀𝐍𝐍𝐎𝐓 wait to see how Hattie will make it all come together in the final book 𝐋𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫.

MC: Lennon, Wells, Bishop, Ronan, Abel

3.5/5⭐️
3/5🌶

Multi POV, teacher/student, MFM, RH, kidnap, child abuse (past), cliffhanger

This picks back up right where Traitor ended. Lennon is learning more about what happened with the guys to make them the way they are. She and Bishop start to deal with their feelings towards each other. Abel still doesn’t believe that Lennon is being honest with them. Lennon gets a message black mailing her for money after a video of her hooking up with Ronan and Wells gets sent to her.
I felt like the pace of this book was a little slow but it helped set up a lot of ground work for the final book. And it left with a major cliffhanger that I did not see coming. I’m very curious to see how things conclude in the final book because there’s still so much unresolved between Lennon and the guys.

Thief is the second book in the Loxley Prep series and picks up right after that killer cliffhanger in book 1!

As the book goes on, we get more snippets of what happened at Camp Capitree – I seriously love these flashbacks and the small tidbits we get of the group’s past – as well as POVs for all the guys as well as Lennon.

I thoroughly enjoyed that it wasn’t insta-love for Lennon and all the guys. Having to slowly convince some of them (LOOKING AT YOU ABEL) that she didn’t screw them over and prove herself brings the tension up so much! It’s going to be so satisfying when they all cave and admit their love for her, I can’t wait.

There’s the sexual tension with the five-some (that’s a word, right?) as well as building tension with side characters with my main question still being what’s up with Aunt Darby?! I have so many questions.

This book has an even more intense cliffhanger so buckle in and be prepared! I cannot wait for the third book to get here!

Thank you, Hattie Jude and Valentine PR, for an ARC provided for my honest review!

**Received arc for honest review**

Ok I am not going to give any spoilers **fingers crossed** So this is the 2 book in the Loxley Prep trilogy and it picks up right where book one left off and I am here for it! Right after Lennon and her aunt moves into Brewster's home his daughter Cassie is kidnapped no one knows who is in on it. Lennon thinks that Abel has something to do with it but turns our he is not the one. Cade (Cassie's twin brother) suspects Lennon. Abel still does not trust Lennon all the way but Bishop is starting to come around. So I am not going to get into the plot, I can say that the scenes get spicier and the cliffhanger at the ends will have your jaw on the floor.

After book one I knew I needed to dive right into this one!! And let me tell you, it did not disappoint!

I loved seeing more of their pasts, especially from the boys! We are getting more of a change in the sense that it is less set in a school at this point, which I don’t mind. Lennon and the boys are slowly getting to where they all want to be, but the past keeps popping up! This book a lot is revealed but still so much to be talked about. Very high stakes and lots going on (but still easy to follow)! Loved all the secrets and the spice in this one.

The short chapters and storyline is so fun and easy to get lost in. I have SO MANY questions after that last chapter and I can’t wait for the conclusion of the series!

Oh. My. GOODNESS!!

Hattie is pure evil and pure genius at the same time for that plot twist!! The cliffhanger for Traitor was great, but this one is just 🤯🤯🤯 These boys are getting themselves in quite the mess in Sikoma, and it seems that Lennon will be the only one to save them.

Plus, can we talk for a second about the spiiiiiice?! I am always game for a “why choose” reverse harem, and this book is NOT disappointing. If you haven’t read book one yet, GO READ IT so that you can devour this one next. 10/10 MUST READ!😍😍

After reading the first book I am highly looking forward to the rest of the series! This book did not disappoint! My brain hurts so bad because of all the unanswered questions! There is a lot of questions answered from the first book but it gives you so many more!!! The cliffhanger had me wanting to throw my iPad! I’m so mad she left us hanging like this!!! 🖤🖤

Lennon and her boys couldn’t be more memorable characters and their backstory is so unique. I haven’t read a book with this type of back story before and I love it! I love all the boys except Abel can be a grouch! What happens to one of the characters is traumatic. Then what Lennon goes through….. man she’s strong! I’m not talking about that ending!!! 😡😡😡🖤🖤🖤

My word y’all! I knew another cliffhanger was probably coming because this IS a three book series but honestly, I was.not.ready for this cliffy!!🤯😱 Don’t worry, book three isn’t too far off. Thank goodness. 🖤🖤🖤

Thief is the second full length book in the Loxley Prep series and must be read after Traitor as it picked right up where Traitor left us hanging on edge. This book unravels further into what actually went down at Camp Capitree. Unfolding between past and present, I was absolutely captivated by the whole premise of Camp Capitree and all the evil that went down there. IRL, I can’t imagine the long term trauma a place like that would have on still developing children and teens. 💔 This is why I’m a foster parent.
But as far as Thief goes, I love how this author writes the events and storyline surrounding Camp Capitree.

I really like how slowly we are getting to know more and more about the complexity of these characters. I love them as individuals and as a group. While she’s made a lot of progress with some, she’s got some more work with others. This is not an easy just kiss and make up journey.

I know I’m being somewhat vague but that’s entirely on purpose as I think these books are better to go in blind. The jaw dropping experience is that much better when you have no idea what’s coming your way. 😉 🤯😱

With lots of slow burn deliciousness. Plenty of secrets, twists, turns and even more questions. My mind is whirling y’all! 🌪 You will once again be left chomping at the bit for the next book which I am anticipating wrapping up this storyline for us and leaving us perfectly satisfied with all our questions wrapped up perfectly with a bow. ( fingers crossed 🤞🏻)

If you haven’t started this series yet this is a perfect time to start. Four Fantastic Stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

NOT HER DADDY'S ALIVE?! my stomach this is crazyyy😭😭😭 like what is going awn ☹️☹️
Also I don't trust her aunt or brewster maybe I'm being dramatic but I'm feeling off about her aunt it just feels like she's constantly trying to gaslight lennon and I don't appreciate it it's starting to get weird. And the quick switches in personality is worrying too

Ronan is still the best then Wells and idc about Abel I'm just annoyed he lied about Naomi cuz I was hoping for some cheating ☹️😕 Bishop you fine now but I can't forget that chapter...you know exactly which one I'm talking about 😕 what do you mean you were in love with a twelve year old at 16....?

Also how else would Cassie been kidnapped if it wasn't her aunt who handed her off to her dad??? SOMETHING IS AMISS!!
also cade I get it you're upset about your sister but be normal 💀💀

I had hoped that by book two, Lennon would at least be with Bishop and Able would stop being so awful to her, but we continue drag it out. At least the mystery of what's going on with the guys and the camp escalated. There's a kidnapping, blackmail, and a cute puppy to round it all out. I did like seeing Lennon get closer to Wells and Ronan, plus there was some progress with Bishop too (though him being her teacher really does complicate it all.)

I continue to think Lennon's aunt is a liar and manipulator. I want Lennon to see what's right in front of her and I hope things come to a head in the next (last?) book.

This is the second book in the Loxley Prep trilogy by Hattie Jude.

Book 2 starts off immediately following the end of book 1 in a continuation of events. Lennon has now fallen even deeper into the four boys world and is having to stay with them as the investigation for Cassie continues. And while her relationship with two of the boys has strengthened, the other boys are not ready to forgive or forget their past. Together, they have to figure out how to navigate this growing relationship and their feelings for each other.

I struggled with this book a bit more than the first one but was still interested to see where the rest of the story line would be going. I feel like Lennon was a bit more lenient during this book which made me more frustrated because I wouldn't let some of it slide. She was a bit more emotionally fragile during the fights then I would have expected from her character. I really started to like Wells and Ronan more but I still feel like it changed to an instant-love which isn't as much of my thing. I'd love to see Abel give in a little bit more to Lennon because I feel like he still hates her so much so it's hard to fall in love with him.

Throughout the story, we do see more flashbacks to what happened between the group of five at Camp and start to understand more why they all acted the way they did. There are still so many questions hanging out in limbo and I cannot wait for book three to find out what kind of crazy stuff her dad was up to, how Brewster is involved, and why her Aunt Darby is shady as heck!

There was a definite increase of spice in the second book which I was happy for but it started to feel like a plot device rather than natural. I believe that could definitely change when the other couple boys start to give in more. I'm hoping for even more group scenes in the last book!

The cliffhanger at the end ensures I'm going to be picking up the third book when it releases on June 9th. I do enjoy Jude's style of writing and will be checking out more of her stories in the future!

Thank you to Hattie Jude and Valentine PR for the opportunity to get an ARC for this book in exchange for my honest review.

This is the second book in the Loxley Prep trilogy by Hattie Jude and I enjoyed it as I did the first.

Book 2 starts off immediately following the end of book 1. Lennon has now fallen even deeper into the four boys' world. While her relationship with two of the boys has strengthened, the other boys are not ready to forgive or forget. Together, they have to figure out how to navigate this growing relationship and their feelings for each other.

I felt like Lennon was a bit more lenient during this book, which frustrated me, and she seemed more emotionally fragile during the fights than I would have expected from her character. I really started to like Wells and Ronan more but I still feel like it changed to an instant love/forgiveness.

Throughout the story, we do see more flashbacks to what happened between the group of five at Camp and start to understand more why they all acted the way they did. Of course, there are still so many questions hanging out in limbo, and book three needs the answers like what kind of crazy stuff her dad was up to, how Brewster is involved, and why her Aunt Darby is so shady.

Of course, there was a big cliffhanger again so we'll have to wait for book 3 in June.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

Just when I thought I was making progress with Ronan, Wells, Abel, and Bishop, all hell breaks loose. I don't know who to trust. And the accusations flying around leave me wondering if I'm to blame for the chaos. Or if I'm about to expose the truth once and for all. More than my heart is at stake here.

This is the second book in the Loxley Prep Series. You have to read Traitor first or you will not have a clue what it going on. This book picks up where that one left off and we find that Lennon and her guys are all living under one roof but Bishop and Abel are still resistant to her thought Bishop says he believes her he is a teacher and their relationship would be forbidden. Abel though is such a butt to her and swears that he is never forgiving her for what has happened. Her mothers boyfriends daughter is still missing and her Aunt is slowly falling apart. But I do have to say that I wasn't such a fan of her Aunt at times in this book. I just don't think this woman is as innocent as she claims to be and I really hated that Lennon would be an amazing artist but something that happened in the past made her not ever want to paint again and that is because of her Aunt. You will find out more of the past in this book and it is told in everyone's point of view. I really like that we get glimpses of things that happened a Camp and with her fathers. However this is still a huge what or who exactly the heck is doing what is going on in this book. The guys are keeping what is actually their plans and why they keeps leaving one at time for overnight or for long periods of a day. I would be questioning that too. I loved getting to know even more about anyone but I really need the last book in my hands. This one is equally as good as Traitor but in a different way. There lots of things were going on and things were revealed and now things are getting sort of settled and things are still crazy in their lives. You do not want to miss this series I am loving it so much.
