Rule
is the final book in
Red Ridge Sinners MC
series, delivering the conclusion to River and her guys Jax, Diesel and Zach’s story.
Honestly don’t even know what to say or where to start given all that occurred and went down in this finale.
With the narrative picking up from the shocking cliffhanger ending in book 2
Reap.
It was obvious that there was going to be so much to tell, say and show, given not only what had been learnt so far from the answers gained throughout
Ruin
and
Reap.
But with the questions still yet to be answered on top of
Rule
being the finale, it meant the final showdown was about to go paving way for a lot of chaos and mayhem within the plot.
And yet it still didn’t have me prepared for what Caitlyn Dare ended up delivering in the conclusion to River, Jax, Diesel and Zach's story.
Once again Caitlyn Dare managed to reel me back into this adventurous journey that was super angsty, emotionally charged, suspenseful and Red-Hot from steamy AF Fire, one last time.
This whirlwind ride just kept on giving as the story progressed, never allowing a dull moment.
It was an endless rollercoaster full of many ups and downs, with lots of turnings causing you to hold on tight.
The main different ways it had you feeling, given the seriousness of important issues that were developed on had the pages bleeding with many emotions, tugged on your heart strings in the process in a weighty way. All whilst having your stomach in knots from the intense tension and anxiety it produced, alongside the emotional turmoil and high levels of angsty-ness that caused uneasiness too. Given the suspense that had you waiting in anticipation for what was yet to come.
Especially when it came to a major plot twist, something that was completely unexpected to say the least.
Safe to say Caitlyn Dare definitely threw me for a loop with that, having been surprised and shocked.
So let it be known, although you may think you know what will go down with reading this book, especially if you read the first two books
Ruin
and
Reap.
However that won’t necessarily be the case.
One thing that could be counted on was the exploration of River and her relationship with the guys continuing to be developed on.
Not only did we see their emotional connection grow even more stronger, especially when it came to the moments of it being tested by the hurdles and obstacles they continued to face.
Although mostly in Jax and Zach’s case given their past still playing a part in their lives.
However given their bond they always fought to the end, no matter how hard it got. Always making sure to mainly help and push Jax and Zach to continue fight too, since they didn’t always feel worthy because of the demons they were fighting.
We saw the physical connection was still there too and even more powerful, but that wasn’t surprising given the chemistry they all shared.
Holy Hannah the fire between them was still RAUNCHIER than ever!
Caitlyn Dare definitely continued to raise the Spice level to OFF THE CHARTS HOT the more they gave into their lustful desires that never seemed to satiated.
It needs to be said, Jax was still my favourite by the end!
OMG all that he went through in his journey from hell and back, to hell yet again and then back once again had my heart hurting for him ten times over.
The struggles and pain from the demons he continued to fight was utter torture to watch, especially when it caused him to shut down.
Honestly it had me wanting to comfort him with a massive hug and then never letting go, whilst making him realise he deserved all the love and happiness in the world and that he wasn't broken.
Despite enjoying the book overall, there were a couple things that wouldn’t allow me to stop wondering about even after the book was finished.
Firstly it did feel like there were still some loose ends not fully tied up when all was said and done IMO. Without giving too much away, let's just say it involved Zach, his mum Cassie and Nightcrawlers.
And secondly was Diesel, it honestly felt like there was hardly any development with his character. Not just in
Rule
but throughout the series, especially when you compare it to Jax and Zach's character IMO.
For example one of the main traits that came to light about Diesel’s character in the first book seemed to be ignored throughout the majority of the series. Except for one particular scene where it was mentioned and then acted on within
Rule,
but only for a short period of time. And without ever going into anymore detail or development.
Overall,
Rule
was still a great read, finishing off
Red Ridge Sinners MC
series with a well deserving HEA worthy of River and her guys. Especially Jax my favourite!
Caitlyn Dare has me looking forward to the next story which just so happens to be Kat's from the peek given at the end.
