A Coffee Lover's Mystery #3

Live and Let Grind

Rate this book
Devil’s Beach is percolating with a hot murder case, and reporter-turned-barista Lana Lewis could be the next to get beaned in Tara Lush’s third Coffee Lover’s mystery, perfect for fans of Cleo Coyle and Lucy Burdette.

Laid-off journalist Lana Lewis is thriving as the proprietor of Perkatory, a coffee shop on quirky Devil’s Beach island, Florida. She’s juggling a relationship with police chief Noah Garcia, enjoying the company of her best friend, Erica, and relishing the companionship of her golden Shih Tzu, Stanley. Only problem is her neighbor, Gus, who incessantly uses his leaf blower, disturbing everyone in the neighborhood. Lana has learned to tune it out, but Erica’s rage boils over and she confronts Gus.

Then Gus is found dead, killed when his leaf blower explodes. Erica immediately becomes suspect number one. But there are plenty of other candidates as well: Gus’s soon-to-be ex-wife, Honey Bailey, who thinks she’ll be written out of his will; Mickey Dotson and Doug Beck, who were scalded financially after purchasing a pirate-themed tourist cruise business from Gus; and plenty of angry neighbors who’ve had run-ins with him.

As the clock ticks down will Lana get someone to spill the beans on the killer so she can clear her friend’s name, or will Erica go to jail for a crime she didn’t commit?

Lana Lewis, owner of Perkatory, the best coffee shop in Devil's Beach Island, Florida lived near to the cafe and her best friend and top barista, Erica was staying with her while her boat home was renovated. The morning their peace was disturbed by the next door neighbour, starting a war of words between Erica and Gus, was the beginning of another episode of murder and mayhem for Lana and her police chief boyfriend, Noah Garcia.

Trying to discover who had murdered Gus, Lana knew she shouldn't sleuth - but her previous career as a reporter saw her quite unable to stop. When another person collapsed, this time inside Perkatory, Lana was shocked. And then Erica was high on the police suspect list. Lana knew they needed to find out what was going on, so much against Noah's wishes, Lana and Erica dug deep. All the while, Stanley, Lana's golden Shih Tzu, was keeping them company. But would they put themselves in danger while locating the killer?

Live and Let Grind is the 3rd in A Coffee Lover's Mystery by Tara Lush and it was fun, entertaining and fast paced. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Lana and Noah's relationship is sweet but complex. Stanley is adorable! And I wish I had a Perkatory nearby - some of their concoctions sound delicious! Highly recommended.

I have enjoyed this series with the island setting in the Gulf Coast off the coast of Tampa. The coffee shop is a fun meeting place for locals and tourists. Lana, owner, sort of since her dad is the actual owner, and her best friend Erica have fun with the coffee concoctions. Lana and Erica also cannot resist sleuthing, much to Lana's boyfriend, Police Chief Noah Garcia's frustration. This time they are trying to prove that Erica did not tamper with their neighbor's leaf blower to make it explode and kill him, but Erica had a public argument with Gus because of his constant leaf blowing at early hours and numerous times. Then she is accused of poisoning a coffee bean rep. This is another fun mystery to unravel with a pool of suspects to investigate. Thankfully, Noah is on hand to keep them in line. Kind of. Wacky characters, like Lana's hippie dad, round out the list of characters. Lana picks up a new hobby from one of the suspects, roller skating. And romance is still in the air. I recommend for coffee loving cozy mystery readers.

The third book in this series and somehow I managed to read the first book but missed the second.

Live and Let Grind is a fun read about Lana, the owner of a coffee shop called Perkatory in Florida. She is currently dating Noah, the local police chief but her previous job as a reporter and her inquisitive nature combine to cause some conflicts with him. When her next-door neighbour is murdered and her best friend is a suspect she cannot help herself from investigating and getting herself into serious trouble.

It is an easy read, full of quirky characters, some humorous dialogue, a lot of amazing ideas to do with coffee, and a cute dog. I gave the first book three stars but I am giving this one four.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Live and Let Grind was an interesting read. The story takes place on the island Devil's Beach, FL. The main character Lana Lewis; who owns the coffee shop Perkatory with her father, Peter. She lives in her family home that she grew up in. Across the street lives a new neighbor, Gus Bailey who loves to use his leaf blower constantly. His wife, Honey Bailey is a professional roller skater and is separated from him. Her friend, Erica is staying with her while her boat is being fixed. One morning, Erica gets in a fight with Gus about his leaf blowing. Later that afternoon neighbors Jeri and her wife, P:erry find him dead by his leaf blower.

Lana and her father are meeting their coffee trainer, Julian who is there to update them on coffee. The next day Lana arrives at her shop finding Julian on the floor being worked on by the EMT's after drinking a mushroom coffee. When at the hospital the doctors discover he has been poisoned. Elaine is the suspect as she made the coffee. This is where the story takes off with Lana and Elaine trying to find out who killed Gus and poisoned Julian. There is so many funny things that happen throughout the book. The ending is like a keystone cop chase to the exciting end of who the killer is.

Thank you NetGalley and Crooked Lane Books for this ARC.

Dollycas’s Thoughts

When you have a neighbor like Gus the neighbors come together and not in a good way. Gus lives next door to reporter-turned-barista Lana Lewis and Gus loves his leaf blower. He uses it to clear his yard and driveway morning, noon, and night and Lana’s friend and star barista Erica blows her stack at Gus in front of plenty of witnesses. Witnesses who wanted to do exactly what Erica did.

But when Gus’s leaf blower explodes killing him it is Erica in the hot seat until Lana takes a closer look for others who could have wanted the man dead. People like Mickey Dotson and Doug Beck who were burned when they bought a pirate-themed tourist cruise business from the newly deceased. Or Honey Bailey in the midst of divorcing Gus and was afraid he was writing her out of his will. Or the other neighbors who may have reached their boiling point with the man.

It’s going to take more than a specialty coffee or two to reveal the true killer but Lana is going to clear her friend of the crime even if it involves a bit of roller skating and playing tourist on a pirate cruise ship.

These characters continue to grow and impress me. Lana and Erica have become true best friends who have each other’s back no matter what. Erica is in hot water this time and Lana will defend her to the end and do anything she can to prove her innocence. Again, Lana’s easy, laid-back dad is a fave of mine as he tries to calm the situation and free up the girls for their investigation. I enjoy all the interaction between the characters. Some are full of humor and the dialogues are always true to life.

Setting this series on a Florida beach offers up the story to many different characters. Regulars that come into Lana’s coffee shop, Perkatory every day, some staying for hours, and tourists popping in for their morning coffee or specialty drink. This time Lana even connected with her competition, a coffee shop owner that may be connected to the murder she is investigating.

As a former reporter who would still like to report freelance, she has the skills to question suspects and persons of interest and get them to open up more than they do with Noah. She also has a special talent for making all the clues fit together to lead to a satisfying conclusion. Let’s face it the method of murder was unique and there were plenty of suspects. This story could have gone in several directions. The one the author choose shocked me because I just didn’t see it coming at all.

Live and Let Grind was a great read. I was totally caught up in the story and completely entertained. Ms. Lush plotted this mystery out meticulously with great scenes to divert my thinking over and over again.

I am very excited about the next book in the series! This author has me curious to see what these characters get into next.

I have had a love-hate relationship with this series. Even though Live and Let Grind is only the third book, it felt as though there had been a few more. Lana, the main character, is hard to like. She is pushy and demanding; at other times, she is too worried about what her father and boyfriend think, and still, at other times, she is single-minded and walks around with blinders on. In this installment, with an exploding leaf blower, roller skating widows, and a best friend accused of murder, Lana has her hands full.

Unfortunately, the suspects all revolve around Gus; and the victim’s terrible relationships. His famous roller-skating wife, his angry neighbors, disgruntled business people, and a few others had it out for him. But when the police zero in on Erica, Lana’s best friend, readers shake their heads in wonder. Why would she become the number one suspect simply because she had an argument with the victim the day he was killed? There is no motive or evidence for the police to suspect Erica, and Lana’s involvement just makes things worse. Then someone else dies after drinking coffee that Erica served to them, but this doesn’t seem to cause as much suspicion as when the leaf blower exploded. Why is that, exactly? Why does Lana think that the two murders aren’t connected, and why is no one else taking it seriously?

The first victim, Gus, was not a great guy, and no one will really miss him. His widow is famous because of her roller-skating videos and doesn’t mourn him or pretend to. No one in the neighborhood really cares that people are dead, but it gives some of them their moment in the spotlight, which it seems is all they care about. The evidence, what there is of it, doesn’t narrow down the suspect list or help readers understand how someone killed Gus with a leaf blower. Once Lana starts investigating, the waters get even muddier.

The romance angle of this story left a lot to be desired. Honestly, if my partner pulled the stunts that Lana’s boyfriend did, there would be no relationship to work on. In turn, if a police officer’s girlfriend stuck her nose into a police investigation like Lana does, again, there would be no relationship at all. Even in a small town, you can’t get away with interfering with the police. I had hoped for more in Live and Let Grind. I enjoyed the uniqueness of the leaf blower being used as a weapon, and I actually liked the victim’s widow, Honey. The roller skating was funny but also unusual and gave the story an original flare. I had no trouble figuring out who the killer was, but I felt the motive was shaky at best. Unfortunately, I am still not crazy about Lana; I can only hope she grows up sooner rather than later.

I really enjoy spending time with Lana Lewis and her circle of friends and family in Tara Lush’s Coffee Lover’s Mystery series. Even though I don’t care for coffee at all, I still love the vibes of a local coffee shop, and Lana & Erica seem like fun baristas to hang out with, whether sleuthing is afoot or not. Not to mention Lana’s hoot of a hippie father and her adorable dog.

I normally find the descriptions of the protagonist’s craft or hobby or profession a bit tedious in cozy mysteries (I know, I know – it’s part of the formula) but that’s not the case in this series for me. The author seamlessly weaves the process of making all the fancy coffee drinks into the natural flow of the story, and I was particularly intrigued by the new drinks they were introducing in this book. It’s also not often that I get to read books set in Florida in the winter so it was fun to do so with Live and Let Grind, especially when poor Lana (and me, by reading-empathy-default) had to endure the awful Florida heat & humidity in the previous book.

The mystery in Live and Let Grind is full of unique elements that kept me turning the pages to see what in the world would happen next. From a pirate drinking cruise (yes, you read that right) to monkey protests, disco roller skating, and the mob, there’s a little bit of crazy around every turn in this book. It certainly kept Lana on her investigative toes, her amateur sleuthing made more complicated by her romance with the local police chief. But this case is personal so she does what she has to do, making for some comical moments and some swoony ones too. I appreciated that, even with all the unbelievable-in-any-other-context things going on, they all seemed to make “of course that happened” sense under this author’s story-crafting skills.

Bottom Line: Death by leaf-blower. Poisoned by mushroom coffee. Disco skating lessons. Coffee trainers. Wild monkeys. It’s never a dull moment around Lana Lewis and her Perkatory coffee shop, and Live and Let Grind is no exception. Quirky characters, a clever plot, an engaging writing voice, smart wit, and a dash of romance keep you turning the pages and, in this third installment of Tara Lush’s caffeinated series, you’ll be even more invested in solving the crime than in the previous books. A great read from start to finish!

LIVE AND LET GRIND is the third book in the Coffee Lover’s Mystery series by Tara Lush. Fast-paced with quirky characters, I was engrossed in the story from the very first page. The protagonist, Lana Lewis, is the owner of the Perkatory coffee shop in Devil’s Beach Island, Florida. The author does a fantastic job with her descriptive voice in making the reader feel like they’re right there, experiencing the beach community vibe. But, even more importantly, her witty, often humorous repartee keeps the dialog lively and the characters interesting. While I enjoy Lana, it’s her hippy dad that steals each scene he inhabits. He brings a breath of fresh air to the cozy mystery genre, and I can’t wait to see more of him in future books.

The murder mystery itself is quite creative… murder by leaf blower! As a former journalist, Lana has experience in interviewing people and putting stories together. It’s not a stretch of the imagination that she’d be interested in finding out why it happened and who committed the crime. She’s methodical and knows how to research, and it all makes sense as she pieces the clues together. Thrown into the mix for maximum entertainment is senior citizen true crime podcasters, a disco roller-skating social media influencer, a pirate party ship, and much, much more. It makes me wish the next release was right around the corner!

I was provided with an advance copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Lana Lewis and her quirky friends and family are back for another mystery to solve in sunny Florida. When Gus, Lana's annoying neighbor, is murdered by a leaf blower explosion, it becomes clear that Gus has many people who weren't unhappy to see him out of the picture. Problem is it's Lana's boyfriend Noah who is on the case and has to follow where the evidence leads and it leads to Erica, her best friend and barista.

I always enjoy this series! Lana and Noah are getting closer and his suspicion about Erica is hurting their relationship. Lana, never one to sit back and let life happen to her, finds a myriad of suspects. I like her spunk, determination and loyalty to her friend. There are so many twists and turns in this mystery that you won't want to put it down. Lana's dad and his latest "protest" is perfect and the coffee drinks will make you head for the kitchen or local coffee shop!

I'm already looking forward to the Florida sun and mystery in the next book!

*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.

Welcome to another fabulous adventure with Lana and the ever popular Perkatory that I wish was located in my hometown so I can visit. Life is going well after she moved back home. She is enjoying her budding relationship with Noah, catching up with her BFF Erica, and getting reacquainted with the locals. Her new neighbor is making things difficult though thanks to running his leaf blower at all hours while also just making things miserable for the neighborhood. This isn't too much of an issue until the man is found dead thanks to his leaf blower exploding so after her argued quite a bit with Erica making her the main suspect. They try to stay out of it but find themselves asking questions none the less until they find themselves in danger thanks to a surprise twist. This makes for fabulously fun read as it all plays out sure to delight fans of cozy mysteries. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.

A leaf blower obsession has made Gus Bailey enemies with almost the entire neighborhood, but when he turns up dead, Lana's best friend becomes a prime suspect. Lana wants to clear her friend of suspicion and since she used to be a crime reporter she knows how to dig into an investigation. The problem is that her boyfriend is the police chief and has warned her to leave it alone.

This story has a great blend of humor, mystery, romance and friendship. Thanks to Crooked Lane Books and NetGalley for an ARC. The opinions expressed are my own.

In this third installment of the series, Lana Lewis is investigating the suspicious death of a neighbor. This neighbor seemed to be unlike by almost everyone he encountered, from fellow neighbors to business partners to estranged wife. When Lana's friend and favorite barista becomes the prime suspect, Lana is determined to prove her innocence.

Lana's personality seems to change depending on the situation and persons she is around. She goes from pushy and stubborn to a worry-wort who is unsure of herself. She is still growing as a character, but I wish she would be more consistent. The mystery was well plotted and will of red herrings. I did suspect the murderer just before the grand reveal.

All thoughts and opinions are my own; in no way has anyone influenced my opinion.

Live and Let Grind is the 3rd full-length mystery in Tara Lush's A Coffee Lover's Mystery series. Lana Lewis works in her family's coffee shop - Perkatory - as the manager and a barista in the town of Devil's Beach, Florida. Lana is spending her spare time with her best friend, Erica, who is currently staying with her, and getting on with her neighbours, however, one, in particular, is causing problems. Gus Bailey uses his leaf blower at any hour he fancies and Erica has a bust-up with him about it and Lana's dad who happens to be a great brunch maker, also argues with him. Later, Gus is found dead and Erica is suspect number one.

I was swept along with the story from the start. Tara Lush's writing is peppy, sharp and edgy and I love her portrayal of the main character, Lana a former investigative journalist whom I found to be sassy and determined. Peter, Lana's hippie dad was once again a sparkling player, too. With a developing romance between Lana and Chief Noah Garcia when he's not in Tampa visiting his mum, though there is conflict, and complete with a Shih Tzu doggy named Stanley, Live and Let Grind is one for those who like their cozies fresh and amusing. I can't wait to see what's next for Lana.

This review was written voluntarily and my rating was in no way influenced by the fact that I received a complimentary digital copy of this novel from Crooked Lane Books via NetGalley.

The Florida Keys, a coffeehouse, an ex-journalist with an inquisitive "snoop" gene, great friends, wild monkeys and an attempted murder or two.....yep, the perfect concoction for a great read! This series has grabbed me from the start as the characters are so much fun. The interactions between the various personalities will have you giggling and the mystery will have you deducting and not always in the right direction! A well thought out plot and a few weird side tangents (disco skating anyone?) will have you enjoying your time with Lana and her sidekicks! I can't wait to read what happens in the next book to Lana!

This was my favorite book of the series.

Lana has finally become marginally more self-aware, and Noah is finally reacting appropriately to her snooping. Cutting her off from writing the article was perhaps the most level-headed thing he’s done in the entire series, and it made me like him so much more.

I really liked the story for this one. The murder plot was really intriguing, and the cast of suspects wasn’t as random as they were in the previous book.

I will say: I find Lana totally unlikable. She’s very cringy and SO stupid. Why is it shocking to her that she’d have to close the cafe after someone was POISONED?Also, it’s frustrating that she keeps committing crimes for the sake of snooping, while her boyfriend is a police officer. Like COME ON.

There are some minor continuity issues in this story that really bothered me. Lana’s conversation with Bridget is a perfect example: She asks her TWICE who she things killed Gus, and then Bridget says her and Gus only ever fought about the leafblower but then later says they fought about the calls from Doug.

I also didn’t really understand why Doug would poison Julian out of jealousy, meanwhile Erica literally has a boyfriend.

Despite it’s flaws, I did enjoy the story. I’d likely read another book in this series if Tara Lush writes one.

Mystery & Thrillers

Crooked Lane Books and Netgalley provided me with a copy of Live and Let Grind for review:

A hot murder case is brewing at Devil's Beach, and reporter-turned-barista Lana Lewis could be the next victim in Tara Lush's third Coffee Lover's mystery.

A laid-off journalist is thriving as the owner of quirky Devil's Beach island coffee shop Perkatory. She is juggling a relationship with police chief Noah Garcia, enjoying the company of her best friend, Erica, and enjoying Stanley, her golden Shih Tzu. Her neighbor, Gus, incessantly blows leaves with his leaf blower, disturbing everyone in the neighborhood. Erica's rage boils over, and she confronts Gus as Lana tunes out.

Gus is then found dead, killed when his leaf blower explodes. As a result, Erica becomes suspect number one. In addition, there are plenty of other candidates: Honey Bailey, Gus's soon-to-be-ex-wife, who believes she will be left out of his will; Mickey Dotson and Doug Beck, who were scalded financially after purchasing Gus' pirate-themed cruise business; and numerous angry neighbors who have run into him over the years.

In the waning seconds, will Lana get someone to spill the beans on the killer so she can clear Erica's name, or will Erica go to jail for a crime that she didn't commit?

This was the perfect read for winding down after a busy week!

I give Live And Let Grind five out of five stars!

Happy Reading!

Murder by leaf blower?

Yes! I love it when I find a new-t0-me series that sucks me in and refuses to let me leave. That compulsion to finish once I started made me appreciate Lana's seeming inability to let go of a case. To quickly summarize, Lana's friend Erica's temper gets the best of her and she gets into it with a neighbor who has the annoying habit of running his loud leaf blower way too early, too often, and too long. Then, the neighbor is murdered. Former reporter Lana feels the need to investigate when Erica becomes a suspect. Then one of the customer's in the coffee shop belonging to Lana's family is poisoned. Are the two cases related?

How is it that Lana isn't aware that her own neighbors are doing a true crime podcast? Could the killer be the victim's wife, Honey? Why is Lana's father arrested while dressed up as a monkey? Will Lana ever meet boyfriend Noah's mother? Is Stanley the Shih Tzu spoiled rotten? What's the story on Lana's school friend who disappeared years ago? What's the wildest mailbox design you've ever seen? Who.... oh, never mind. Enough questions to tantalize you to read.

"Live and Let Grind" is a fun, quick read. My thanks to #NetGalley and #CrookedLaneBooks for letting me virtually travel back to my ol' state of Florida to meet Lana and friends. I'm looking forward to many future visits. I'm not even much of a coffee drinker but would love to try an Orange Blossom Special.

Thank you Netgalley and Crooked Lane Books for an advance copy of Live and Let Grind by Tara Rush.

This is the third book in the Coffee Lover’s Mystery series and my first time reading the series. While I have not read other books in the series, I found this to be a fun quick cozy mystery and did not feel like I needed to read the previous books since the mystery was contained to this one. Live and Let Grind had all the hallmarks of a great cozy mystery. I enjoyed the book from start to finish but felt the wrap up was a little quick.

Lana Lewis was the perfect amateur sleuth. With her journalist background she knew how to ask the right questions to help solve the murder. I enjoyed her character and liked seeing a fun side of her as well.

The supporting characters were all had distinct personalities and I really enjoyed Lana’s dad. He is a free loving hippie that just wants to enjoy life and help his daughter. The other supporting characters were very enjoyable. However, I did not like Lana’s relationship with Noah. I felt like he was controlling in the book (I won’t go into spoilers on what he did). Lana and Noah’s relationship felt stunted as well. The way Lana acted you would have thought she was a young girl not a thirty-one year who had been married before. With that said, Lana and Noah’s relationship was not the main point of the book, and it did not make me decide to read other books in the series. In fact, I plan to go back and read books one and two.

Overall, Live and Let Grind (by the way I love the title and it’s play on the James Bond movie) is a good cozy mystery. There were many suspects and I loved how Lana and her friends went to eliminate each one. I figured out the murderer about halfway through the book, but I typically do that in cozy mysteries.

This cozy mystery series is so much fun! Live and Let Grind is the third book in a series set on an island off Florida’s Gulf Coast (possibly modeled after Sanibel?). The main character, Lana, has a journalism background which makes for a believable sleuth, even though she’s now running a coffee shop in her home town, after having been laid off from a big Miami paper. (Love the shop’s name: Perkatory) The population of Devil’s Beach is quite a mixture of people: some she’s known all her life and some newcomers. I enjoyed revisiting the people who have become series regulars, including Lana’s aging hippie dad, the local police chief, Noah Garcia, who is Lana’s love interest, and Erica, the talented barista who has become Lana’s great friend. Another recurring “character” is Lana’s puppy Stanley This works as a standalone, but of course, as with any series, if you read them in order, you get more backstory.

Once again, there are two mysteries - Gus is Lana’s newish neighbor who has been driving everyone crazy with his noisy leaf blowing. His death is rather suspicious. Then Julian, a trainer from Lana’s favorite coffee supplier, seems to have been poisoned in Lana’s coffee shop. Are the two incidents connected?

Thank you to NetGalley and Crooked Lane Books for the opportunity to read an advance readers copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

*I received an ARC of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review*

And here we are, the third book in this fantastic series and upfront I can say it did not disappoint at all!!! What a great book again!

In this third book, Lana is enjoying life. Perkatory is doing great, she is trying to find a balance in her relationship with police chief Noah Garcia and why he is being secretive about his family and enjoying the company of her best friend, Erica, who temporarily lives with her. The only knack about all this goodness is her annoying neighbor Gus who constantly uses his leaf blower, disturbing the whole neighborhood. While Lana blocks out the noise, Erica becomes so annoyed, she confronts Gus.

The problems start when Gus is found dead and Erica becomes the number one suspect as she had the big fight with him over the leaf blower. But Lana finds out there is a long list of people who could have done it and believes in the innocence of her best friend. So what else is there to do than find out who really did it?

I absolutely love the characters in this book. They all have their own unique personality, like Lana's dad who is obsessed with a monkey protest walk. They all work so well together and you can feel how they think. The story itself was also very good although I did figured out the who dunnit quickly. But it did not do harm to the story, the story is just great and this is another amazing installment to an already fantastic series!

This series takes place on the Island of Devil's Beach, Florida and follows a thirty-something former reporter turned barista named Lana Lewis. Lana manages her father's Cafe and freelances for the local paper. That reporter instinct has gotten her invested in some murder mysteries and found her a boyfriend in the new Police Chief.
This third book in the series involves the death of Lana's neighbour who has been upsetting the locals with his constant leaf blowing. Gus even got into it with Lana's BFF Erica right before he died. This makes her a prime suspect and pulls Lana in the investigation to clear her name.
Lots of red herrings/suspects and some suspenseful moments as the mystery unfolds. There's also some drama involving Lana and romantic relationship, so if you haven't read the other books in the series you may not be as invested in those aspects of the story.
Looking forward to the next in the series.

The third in the Coffee Lover's Mystery series! Lana is dealing with an annoying neighbor. He keeps blowing his leaf blower early on the weekends and it's getting to all his neighbors, especially Lana's best friend and roommate Erica. However, Gus's leaf blowing is put to an end when he is murdered. Lana must investigate to prevent her best friend from being arrested for murder.

Overall, I liked this newest book addition! I will say to be forewarned that if this is your first one in this series, it does give away the whodunit of the other two early on. My only other criticism is the culprit of this one. Without spoiling anything too much, it was a more established character (aka from previous books) that felt like a weird choice. Besides that, another fun mystery!

I received my copy from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

This is a fun cozy series with great charcters and always entertaining with a enjoyable well crafted sleuth . This is the third in the "Coffee Lovers Mystery Series." Thank you to the publisher and to Net Galley. My review opinions are my own.

This was a fun who done it because the obnoxious leaf blowing neighbor is the victim. We all have one of those and leaf blowers are universally agreed upon to be horrible. After he has a argument with a friend of our protagnist and coffee shop manager Lana his leaf blower explodes. He previously had a terrible argument with witnesses by Lana's good friend and co worker Erica. When Gus is killed Erica becomes the prime suspect. Lana and her her boyfriend. police chief Noah Garcia argue over the case and he does not want her involved, Soon suspects abound and Lana is the smart savvy investigator as she closes in on the killer. A fun well crafted mystery. I look forward to the next in series.
