Twenty-nine-year-old Imogen Banks is hashtag struggling.

After a disaster ends her career, destroys her home and burns up all the money she’s saved to open her own bakery, she enters a baking contest for an all-or-nothing, last ditch chance at getting her life together.

But when she arrives at the mysterious island off the coast of France, she discovers all the inhabitants of the quaint town are magical and if she wins the contest, she’ll become the next royal baker at the castle on top of the hill. No worries that the last royal baker appears to have been murdered.

And one more small thing-- Imogen herself is apparently a witch!

As Imogen struggles to learn new spells, wrangle a snarky magical flame into baking her desserts and try and not burn the whole white tent down in the process, a fellow contestant drops dead with all evidence making Imogen the top suspect.

But she hasn’t only caught the eye of the bumbling and pompous police inspector, who’s doing his best to pin the crime on her. With a hunky medic and a broodingly handsome baker vying for her attention, Imogen’s whipped a little romance into the mix.

But when she discovers ties between the recent murder and the previous royal baker’s death, Imogen’s out to not only clear her name, but figure out which of the cooks has a taste for killing.

Will Imogen tap into her fledgling powers in time to save herself, or will it all prove a recipe for death and disaster?

First I want to say that I received this as an ARC copy in exchange for writing a review. However, I will be fair especially as it was on my wishlist before I got this opportunity.

While most of the mysteries were not super difficult to figure out (which isn't a problem for myself, as I like feeling clever), the characters and world are engaging, particularly if you enjoy Harry Potter. Most of the characters grow throughout the series, and the world undergoes major changes, all while maintaining a relatively optimistic out view. The only parts I didn't particularly enjoy are when Ms. Johnson tried a little too hard to be funny and put the main character in ridiculously embarrassing positions, though thankfully they were uncommon (I believe four to five times over the course of ten books) and fairly short lived.

In short I would not have been disappointed with it if I had bought it, as it was an enjoyable set of paranormal cozy mysteries.

Book 1 -
This well written cozy mystery is a great start to what looks to be a fun series. I enjoyed getting to know the characters in this book as I followed them on this whirlwind adventure. They were all relateable and real, I laughed, teared, and squealed along side Imogen. The twists and turns were on point, and foreshadowed well. I can't wait to read her next adventure.

Book 2 -
Imogen, Maple, Sam and Iggy are back for another adventure! This is the second book in the series, but it is stand alone for the most part. By reading the first you will get more in depth information on the world Erin has created, and the characters but this book will stand alone if it is the first you are picking up.

Compared to book 1, this one reads more like a journal entry if that makes sense? There are more dives into Imogens head than the last book.

It does continue the story arc started in book one, while having it's own investigative adventure. I love that there is an over arcing problem that won't be solved but will continue to burden Imogen instead of the book wrapping up peachy keen.

Erin does a fabulous job of world building, I love the magical world she has created within our own and can't wait to discover more about the different kingdoms and how the world politics operate.

Book 3 -
With each book I read in this Spells & Caramels series, it becomes my new favorite book in the series. If you have been following the story (which I totally suggest starting from the beginning!) you'll know that death seems to always be at Imogens door step. The police chief of Bijou Mer isn't the sharpest or most caring tool in the shed so it is up to Imogen & friends to solve the latest murder.

Mermaid Fins, Winds & Rolling Pins doesn't disappoint with it's character development for all of your favorite main characters plus it brings you more information to the magical world that Erin has created. The murder mystery was well placed, and logical for the story. I love Erins world and her story telling.

The perfect cozy mystery for your evening read! Can't wait to read the 4th installment!

Book 4 -
This has to be my favorite book so far in the series. Maybe because I have a soft spot for Imogen, or maybe because my most perplexing questions finally have answers that lead to better questions! But I'm sure it's in the magical way Erin has with words because this story comes together perfectly within the Spells & Caramels series. I am an avid cozy mystery reader and something that Erin does that usually drives me crazy about other series is that trouble doesn't "follow" Imogen and her crew in the same "you're a walking bad omen" kind of way. They just happen to have an eye for putting together the pieces in other peoples issues, as their own story progresses. The mysteries they stumble into always relate to the larger overarching story as well. I can't wait for book 5! I have so many questions that need answers!

Book 5 -
I am just going to say that I am totally #teamhorace so haters beware! LOL This book was such a roller coaster! My emotions were all over the place along side Imogens. Be warned you will want to read this book in one sitting, there is so much going on, you won't want to wait for answers! Erin does a beautiful job of framing all of Imogens emotions perfectly. Personally I think she can do better than Harry/Hank. I love how well the baking, romance, and Horace stories flow together throughout the book. It makes for the right about of suspense and laughs as you read. I can't wait discover more about all of the above!

Book 6 -
AMAZING! This books answers so so so so many questions I've been waiting for! I love how each character discovers themselves, and their own way a little more in each installment. The tight nit bakers are inspiring and hilarious. This book really brings to light why it's so important not to learn everything about every character in book one. Erin has created a wonderful magical world and I can't wait to see how Imogen and the gang try and tackle their next adventure.

Book 7 -
Another fantastic adventure! These books are so well laid out, I love each one of them more. In this book we get more character development, & over arcing storyline growth plus another mystery for the gang to solve. I am so not Team Hank, honestly I think Imogen should drop him like a bad habit. But for the sake of fairy tale love, I will cut him some slack. :p Can't wait for the next installment! This is 100% my favorite cozy mystery series ever. It's a must buy!!

Book 8 -
SQUEAL! This book was so magical!! I've been team Horace since day one, but this book really solidifies his character. The major theme throughout the story is "not everyone is as they seem or are rumored to be". Loved the ending! There was a huge uptick in romance in this book though, which was kind of eh. I mean not everyone needs to pair off, but I am so excited to see where this story goes! Spells & Caramels is one of my absolute favorite series.

Book 9 -
This one had me chanting yes! Until the end. Imogen was robbed. Even though I have never been on team instalove Hank, she was finally getting some great things. This book has a great mystery, I loved the play out of the killer, and all the high-jinks leading up to it. But now, ugh. I so so so hope the next book doesn't disappoint by making them live happily ever after in the wrong community. Overall this is the best one yet, I say that with each read, but seriously, I was sad/mad/joyous, all throughout the book. I love these characters, and their crazy quirks. Once this series wraps up it would be fun to explore, books from other characters point of views. Especially Horace!

Book 10 -
After book 9 ended I was so so nervous for book 10. With it being the last book, there were so many possible ways it could end and many of them would be a let down! But guys, trust in the author. This series closed out as Imogen as possible, and it was an amazing read! Loved it so much, the last page made me squeal out loud with happiness for the gang! One of my favorite things about this series is that over the past 10 books each of the characters in the gang have grown so much, they all struggled, and found themselves. I love that it wasn't just an Imogen party and everyone else was just there to support her drama. They all matter, and they all progress as people. Erin could do a spin off for any character in this series and it'd have a pre-built following, that's how well she's built this world.

No. Can't do it. DNF at halfway though book 2.

Why?
1. Annoying reader- I love Audible, but a bad reading can ruin a good story. This reader sounds like Cheerful Childrens Librarian who has only a faint idea what she's saying and reads everything in the same cadence, frequently misplacing her emphasis.
2. Juvenile characters- This feels like a tween book. The characters are supposed to be in their 20's and 30's, but they speak and act like 13 year olds.
3. Shallow characterization- The heroine is super special. The villains twirl their Snidely Whiplash moustachios. The comic relief characters are flatter than pancakes. This is melodrama.
4. Plodding plots- These are mysteries, but only an 11 year old would struggle to find the villain, and not a smart 11 year old. Much of the plot is "and then we went to [place] and interrogated [suspect] before going to [next place]." It's an itinerary.

I am not the reader for this series.

The ideal reader for this series is:
- a paperback reader (not audiobook)
- a fan of short chapters
- a lover of fantasy-mystery-romance
- one who never sees the punchline coming
- someone who forgives any fault if the book has mermaids
- probably 13 or 14 years old

I absolutely love the Spells & Caramels Magical Mystery series by Erin Johnson.

It is so great that you're getting the entire series in one set.

I LOVE Imogen and the journey that she takes as she learns about magic that she never knew she had. The characters are fantastic, and I do love Izzy and all of Imogen's friends. They are so realistic, sarcastic and FUNNY! The adventures they go on are fun and I love the twists that the author puts in the books to keep it engaging and exciting.

The mysteries are fantastic and kept me guessing. There is a little romance that I really loved too. The world building is so well done and let the reader escape into another place.

I plan on rereading the entire series again as it is THAT good!

Cute, but would have liked a little more spice. I enjoyed the author’s style of writing even though it’s a bit different from what I normally read. Humorous, laid back series that was easy to listen to while multi-tasking. The storyline was easy to follow and was well written. My favorite character was probably Horace and I would love to see whether the author has plans to write his story as well.

mixed feelings.

There were times when I felt like the stories went waaay overboard. Times in each book that I skimmed through. I enjoyed the beginning of each and the ends were dramatic and satisfying. So three stars is my best judgement. I know others may disagree.

I adore everything about this series! Loveable characters, feel-good humor, intriguing plots, it's just perfect!

Imogen and her sweet circle of outcasts and misfits are so kind, resilient, and wholesome, and I had such a lovely time following their stories. These are seriously some of my favorite characters ever, and their relationships with each other are perfect.

The humor is also fantastic! It's wholesome and silly and laugh out loud, and I cackled through the whole series.

And the plots are a perfect balance of cozy and suspenseful. They're so creative with so many clever details, and they build so well.

I'm having a hard time even articulating how much I love this series. It's just sooo sweet and funny and lovely and wonderful.

My partner probably feels like he read these books himself because I talked about them so much, and I was sad for them to end. I'm already looking into Johnson's other works, and I'm sure I'll be revisiting these too.

I listened to this as an audiobook, and Somerville took Johnson's excellence to the next level with her perfect reading. The distinct voice she gave each character fit their personality perfectly and made them all the more delightful.

I also greatly appreciate that the gay couple is depicted just like the hetero ones. There's no awkward tokenizing, villainizing, or pedestaling, just a sweet love story, and I love it so much.

Along the same lines, I love the anti-bigotry themes throughout the series. A lot of societal bad is presented as just that, but in an easily digestible way embedded among compassionate characters and happy endings.

Overall, all the stars! So much love for these precious characters and enchanting tales!

To be honest I would normally write a great big long review telling you about each book but I won't because this is an incredible 10 book box set and you don't want to be reading about what I think when you could be enjoying it for yourself. I will say that I loved every book and it is simply a magical series that will keep you entertained for hours. I would normally not listen to every book in a box set striaght after each other but as each book follows on from each other and is so totally different I just couldn't hit the stop button. The reason I love this series (and wish it hadn't come to an end) is because of the cast of characters. From the grumpy talking flame, to the sweet shy shifter snake, the scary vampire bodyguard, the harassed part planner, the pirate king and even monsters from the bad lands all find a place in your hearts and that's just to name a few of the wonderful characters. Each book as a murder or problem to solve for the royal bakers and each one is cleverly crafted to keep the listener guessing and infused with magic it certainly never gets boring in the kingdom. It's also a series that when ever you need cheering up or a good laugh you can visit again and again. Just love this series and author and can't get enough of her books in any of her delightful series.
I love the narrator. She puts so much into her story telling and all the emotions she and the characters are feeling comes across loud and clear, dragging you into there world.
If I could this 10 book box set a higher review rating than five stars I would, without any hesitation.
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

What a magical adventure that awaits the reader! This is a heartwarming, series which is a slice of a very human world of love, adventure, suspense, betrayal, villains and the rocky road to happy ever after that so many of us have to take to find that happiness we seek! Of course this series includes magic which I and I’m sure you would love to possess to make our journey easier!

It’s the story of a woman who literally loses everything when she enters a baking contest and the wonder and adventures she encounters as she finds out she is actually a witch as well as the adventures she has with her best friend, Maple, as well as the other friends she makes in Bijou Mer. Along the way she finds out she has a brother and what happened to their parents as well as who was responsible for their deaths.

It’s an exciting story I know you’ll love as much as I have and it’s so convenient to have this whole series in one box set where you only have to turn the page to begin the next book. I bought this box set and I’m glad I did! I have loved this series and the new friends I’ve come to know and love as a result of this experience! Erin makes reading so magical as I have been immersed in her stories reading about Imogen and her friends. I am envious of what they’ve experienced and look forward to re reading their adventures again and again!

Give yourself a present and get this entire box set today and enter Erin’s wonderful world where you also will discover that love and close loyal friends make it possible to overcome just about every obstacle you’ll come across in life.

Delightful

This is a very endearing series of fantasy mysteries. It isn’t often that I look at the page count in Kindle and say “Whew! I still have 800 more pages to go!” but that was the case here — I really didn’t want this series to end. The characters are wonderful, and they make a found family that I’d love to be related to. Early on, when Imogen and her pals go to the mermaid domain, I was reminded of the Oz books, in which there were similarly imaginative domains, settings, and denizens. It is the spirit of Oz that’s similar, the sense of the wonderfully magical around each corner. This is a ten-book collection, but the stories flow from one to the next to make one engrossing story. Of course, there are challenges in each story — Imogen loves a prince who is engaged to another woman, a beautiful princess, natch; a notorious villain keeps appearing in Imogen’s life; there’s a baking contest to determine the next royal baker; etc., etc., so the series never relaxes into the hard-won cozy domesticity the characters manage to create for themselves. Also, how interesting is it that each cook must have an enchanted flame to keep their ovens cooking evenly? Imogen’s flame is a sarcastic but loyal fire called Iggy. Iggy talks a lot and is free with his opinions, never tactful. I was sad to see this series end, but luckily, the author has written many other books set in Bijou Mer, the magical place Imogen finds after leaving her home in Seattle, where things were going very poorly for her. Whimsical, heartwarming, and funny — pure delight.

This series follows Imogene, a young lady who has been saving for years to open her own bakery. She gets a job catering a party and is told her pastries are so good that she should enter the royal baking contest. This party earns her just enough to allow her to finally open her bakery. Somehow, she actually receives an invitation to travel to France to enter the contest. She decides to send an entry and spends all night creating her entry. When she wakes, it is to a horrible fire! Everything she owns is gone! She never got the chance to send her entry. Yet somehow, she has been accepted! With everything she has lost, she knows there is no way she can go, until she reaches into her pocket and the check from the party is still there. She decides to throw caution to the wind and buys a ticket to France. Once there, she finds out that the contest is actually on an island. This competition begins the adventure that takes place through the entire series. In each book, Imogene makes friends in the royal bakery, including the son of the king, who also loves baking, the flame that heats her oven (yes he not only speaks but is very funny), a shape shifting snake, and lots of other amazing characters! Each book is an adventure on it’s own but being able to read them all at once is a fabulous opportunity!! I absolutely fell in love with these books and think you will, too!

I'm hoping for more adventures of Imogen and her friends

I found the books in this collection completely enchanting, I found it very difficult leave the ebooks, even at bedtime.
I will gladly recommend this series of books to friends, and family, at every opportunity.
I am hopeful that this is not the end of Imogen and Hank's adventures. After all even with Horace's threats King Roch's machinations have not come to an end. He definetly has plans for escaping prison and exacting his revenge for anyone Imogen loves.
Let us not forget Misaki and the "Badlanders", as they overcome the "monsters" surrounding them on all sides.
What happens with Maple, Wiley, and Cat? Do Annie and Chief Abe begin new lives with one another? Not to forget Misaki and Jun, Sam and Kenta, Rhonda and Francis, Amelia and the "Badlanders".
Will King Roch exact revenge on the family that adopted Imogen?
There are so many possibilities, the different scenarios of what the future holds, some nights I find sleep evasive as I wonder what will happen to the characters I have read.
Please bring more adventures of Imogen, Hank, and all the other inhabitants of the magic kingdoms.

Love and magic make the world go 'round.

I'm not really a lover of cozy mysteries, mostly because of all of the sometimes stupid plot points, eyeing perfect guys (untouchable) backsides, and refusing to accept the obvious pheromones that are pouring from the various love interests -- all of which makes me a little crazy. HOWEVER, this series doesn't get stuck in any of that. Yes, there are difficulties getting all of the lovers to work through the obstacles. But the obstacles are real and profound, and although there is plenty of longing , it is not just between the physically perfect protagonists. This has lovers of all ages, sizes, genders, and even species. There are meaningful friendships that are valued highly, sacrifices that have been made, real evil to be overcome, and incredible world building. And magic!! And fireworks!! And phenomenal pastries!! And it just works. I know that this isn't slog-through-it great literature, but it is amazingly good literature that gives you the possibility of happy endings for people that you really like. And in this world, I need those things as much as I need air.

5⭐

I'm still WOW.
I loved this series so much.
A witch who grew up in the human world without knowing she is a witch... Yes, I love this imagination. I would love to be Imogen 😁
Having zero friends and then finding so many in the magical world. Not just "normal" friends, they are all like a big family together, especially with the ending (I'm not going to tell you).
Then Imogen's sidekick being a flame 🤩 Yes, a flame 🔥. So cool. I know I know, it's actually hot, but you know what I mean 😉

All the ☠️ Imogen "had" to solve. Yes, I so love hobby sleuth. I love them even more than professional ones 😎 All the problems they get into with the real law enforcement 🙈

All the different places in all the different Kingdoms. All the people Imogen meets and is getting friends with.
There are all kinds of magical creatures. Witches (obviously) and wizards, shifters, seers and necromancers, vampire (the last one?), merpeople, ... So many 😁

And as a primary romance reader, the fact that this series also has a romance in it made it even better. And besides Imogen, all her friends fall in love too 🥰

What an amazing series! Imogen is a human who has a dream of opening her own bakery. She has been saving her money for almost 10 years and is very close to being able to make her dream come true. She is an excellent baker, and knows nothing of the Magical world. But when she receives an invitation to submit a sample to see if she makes the cut for participating in a mysterious international baking contest held in France, she would love too, but isn't sure if she can make it all work without touching her savings. We'll, the Magical world begins to interfere to force her into participating, and ultimately opening her eyes to an entirely different and inspirational new life, with magic. Across the series, Imogen makes new friends and interacts with an amazing bunch of strange individuals. Each book has Imogen entire in an intriguing mystery that only she and her friends can resolve. The characters develop and grow throughout the series. They are fun and interesting reads. I enjoyed every one of the books in this series.

My favourite series by one of my favourite authors, Erin's books were the ones that hooked me on paranormal cosy mysteries. It all started with the intriguing Spells and Caramels with its GBBO like baking competition with added magic: Imogen doesn't realise she has magical powers until she unwittingly enters the competition on the same night that she burns her apartment block down.
The series have individual stories and mysteries that Imogen and her friends try to solve but the thing that makes it special is that there is a continuous storyline through the books with Imogen discovering more about her family and how she came to be adopted. The fabulous characters include Iggy the snarky baking fire, the wonderful Maple who becomes Imogen's best friend (apart from Iggy), the wily Horace who on first meeting is completely evil till he redeems himself later in the series, then spoils it all again. I have all the books individually but couldn't resist buying the complete box set for easier binge reading!

Audiobook: This was my first experience with Erin Johnson's work, and it was charming and enjoyable. Each of the ten stories have an entertaining mystery that was clever and fun to try and solve, as the amateur sleuth Imogen worked through the clues. I liked Imogen and all her friends. I appreciated that each story was completed within the book, but there was a unifying theme of love tying all the stories together. The characters were enchanting, and I liked all the magical creatures that appeared in the series. The flashes of humor were like icing on a cake and added to the pleasing aspect of the tales. I enjoyed all the stories, and I recommend this omnibus to anyone who enjoys this genre. Hannah Somerville's narration was awesome, and her performance enhanced the entertainment to be found in this series. I will look for more audiobooks with Hannah Somerville as the narrator as she was a true joy to experience. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.

Enjoyed getting to know the gang

On the one hand, sad this is the entire series. On the other, glad this was the entire series as I got to read them all without having to wait on each book coming out. Getting to know Imogen and all of her very different and unique group of friends, bakers too, was fun. And I can honestly say their escapades had me laughing quite a bit. There were times she frustrated me, but overall, a good heart. Too curious for her own good, not always forthcoming and sometimes too trusting, but she did manage to solve the mysteries. And she was loyal to those she loved. Monsters may have killed her parents, but learning that the human kind are worse, those responsible for the monsters was a lesson that hurt even more. But with Hank, Maple and the rest of the bakers, they'll show everyone that a woman raised by a non-magical family can change kingdoms and bring together all types, from royalty to commoners, shifters to flames, and even a monster.

I could probably go on gushing about this series forever. The characters, especially Imogene, the Swallow, and her quirky little baker friend Iggy, the magickal flame. They're just adorable. Everyone gets their time to shine.

And shine, they do, while saving magickal mysteries, battling monsters and curses and building a new life for themselves. There is romance, banter, good guys gone monstrous and monsters turned into pets, bakers and murders, a redeemed lost soul and so much more. I listened to the entire ten books in this collection without a break. The narrator does a great job on bringing all the characters to life and I loved the different voices and accents she used.

The sad thing is that I now have to return to human lands. But u still have a few more books to go through by this author, definitely my favourite in cosy witchy mysteries. They just make you feel good, cosy and warm, the perfect entertainment for cold winter days and nights!!!!

An incredibly wonderful fun series with great characters, lots of twists and turns, red-herrings, humor and miscues. Each book in this box set was a treat. Once you start a book you just can't put it down until you've read them all in this series! It begins with Imogene and her dream of owning her very own bakery when tragedy strikes and everything she'd saved for and owned is destroyed in a fire. This series takes you to so many different places and Imogene coming into herself while she goes after her dream first in France. When one of the contestants drops dead and the bumbling police officer tries to pin the murder on Imogene, she has to clear her name and so it all begins book to book in the series! I love this whole series and you will too. I recommend each and every book in this series. I received and ARC of book in this series but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.

So far it's ok. It's a fun yet predictedable cozy mystery series. However there is an overall blandness to almost every character except Horace. The main character Imogen is annoyingly inept at magic and honestly stupid at times. She's also REALLY awkward and the second hand embarrassment was hard to get past. A lot of the jokes seem really dated for when they were published as well (an entire book based on Jersey Shore...). The first few books have literal pages of baking descriptions. I don't mind baking scenes, but they were too long and detailed, and I found myself skipping though chapters until it got interesting again. One other thing that got on my nerves was that the main character drinks her green tea with milk and sugar. I don't know if that was a typo and the author meant to describe black tea, but for a baker who is supposed to have some knowledge of food and how it is supposed to be served it was bothersome. Green tea with milk and sugar is just weird. To be fair I am likely the only person truly bothered by that, but I am bothered nontheless.

Edit: after finishing the series i have to recommend them! Despite it's setbacks the world of the Spells and Caramels series is a wonderful and imaginative escape. Each book is better then the last. Book ten was gripping!! Definitely 10/10, and I was sad when it ended

I would give the story more stars but deducted stars because of the narration. I listened to the audio book. The narrator ruined this story for me. She read the story, didn't tell it. She didn't take breaks or pauses in sentences with emphasis on certain words to give it depth. The characters all sounded like teenagers, not adults and it was difficult to tell the difference between characters. The relationship between the main female and male lead characters seemed to drag, with the male being engaged to another and she was fine with it because it was a marriage of convenience??? The narrator raced through the reading so fast that at first I had to slow it down drastically and then I ended up speeding it up to get through the story. I see a lot of 5 star reviews so maybe it just isn't my cup of tea. I got spoiled by listening to narrators like Katherine Kellgren.

What an awesome series!

I’m am so happy that I found this series. It’s SO MUCH FUN! Absolutely magical and unputdownable! I love Imogen, who is a newbie witch and has lots to learn. I adore Iggy, the snarky baking flame, he’s so funny. I think the world of Hank, I won’t tell who he is, if you haven’t read this series yet I don’t want to spoil it for you. Truly one of my favorite series EVER! It’s ‘wiggle in my seat’-good. It’s ‘I wish I could give it a 1,000 stars instead of just 5’-good. Magical adventures, murder mysteries, all in a lighthearted, fun writing style, who to trust and who not; what more could I possibly want? Wow wow three thousand times wow! So go, if you like paranormal cozy mysteries, read this now! You won’t regret it.

Erin Johnson's Spells & Caramels cozy mystery series is fantastic. Imogen is a fun, caring, and interesting character. She has embraced the magic she was born into even at the beginning when she didn’t truly know how to harness or use the magic. I love the dynamics between Imogene and Prince Harry. They are cute together. And Iggy is the best! He's mouthy but Iggy and Imogen have a great relationship.

I enjoyed this cozy mystery series and found the multiple settings and characters to be interesting and exciting. There is wonderful character development and I enjoyed getting to know everyone. The world building is interesting, and I found myself completely engaged in the story. The series is fast paced and easy to follow.

Oh my, so good!!!!

This is a complete set of 10 books and I got it for 99p 😮😮😮

I can't stress how good these books are.

Imogen is human, well so she thinks, but different.

She's down on her luck. But then her boss gets married and she ends up baking the cakes for her.

At the wedding things get a little weird, but a woman gives her a flier. This is to become a Royal Baker!!

Imogen bakes her entry and the cake disappears as she sleeps. But she ends up burning her home down.

From there her life is turned upside down as she's thrown, deeply, into a world of magic.

A world she was sent from.

I adore ALL the characters in these books and the way they grow and come together ❤❤❤

This series was the gift that kept on giving. There was so much I loved about it, the characters, the humor, the cozy vibes, the mysteries. There were a few books that didn't quite meet my expectations, they were still good but not quite as great as the rest. Had an absolute blast reading these. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars was that the characters feel very juvenile and immature for their age. They're all late twenties / early thirties (or much older, in the case of some magical creatures) but they never act it. As a little sidenote, there's a lot of repetition of certain phrases like "let out a whimper" (What are you, a dog?) that really could've used another round of editing to catch them.

I have read this series and then listened to it on audio. I found the audio thoroughly enjoyable. Hannah Somerville enhanced the story and made the characters jump out of the story.
This is a great fantasy/paranormal/mystery.

Ms. Johnson has written a great series as Imogen, Iggy and the rest of her crew try to solve the problems in each of the worlds. There are plenty of surprises, twists and turn that will keep you guessing to the end of the series. Each book is a standalone story but there are threads that carry through the stories.

The characters are wonderful and unique. The story starts off the coast of France.

Awesome Epic story

Fabulously magical with each book adding more fun, exciting characters. Great down to the wire timing to save the day within each story. Lots of evil beings to fight against and the main character, Imogen, is in the center of each mystery with her sidekicks of magical bakers. It's a delightful tale from first book in the series til the last. You absolutely have to read them all together. If you're a fan of magic, folklore, and super heroes, you will love it. There is no raunchy sex, just good romance and some humorous situations alluding to love and sex. Even ok for young teens.
