I lost everything in a freak accident. My entire family; everything I’d ever cared about - gone in an instant. Unable to bear the constant reminders and emptiness of my life, I moved across the country to dull the loss, hopefully falling into the anonymity of a large city where even an alpha could disappear.

Starting over was never in my plans. All I wanted was to blend in and let life pass me by. Live in my modest studio apartment with my mindless job as an absentee owner of a popular juice bar downtown.

I spent my days with headphones in as I worked through each machine at the gym, grabbing a juice from my cafe on the way home, and drowning myself in the solitude of my house.

And then I met the only thing I’d never managed to obtain with my pack - an omega who made everything in me spark. And in the next breath, a shy beta who made my most basic instincts rear up and want to wrap her in my arms and give her the world.

Try as I may, I can’t seem to run far enough away from either of them. Once we meet, something keeps pulling us back together at every corner. Just as I start to give in and wrap myself in their pack that consists of two other alphas, I find out that the freak accident that took my first pack from me wasn’t an accident at all.

And now I’m being hunted by the murderers who intend to finish the job.

This is a polyamorous story with content not suitable for those under 18 years of age due to graphic content.

The premise of an Alpha finding his second chance after losing his whole pack was very intriguing, and the characters were lovely, but the execution was a bit lacking for me.

The constant flashbacks pulled me out of the story, the conflict at the end felt unnecessary, too. I wish the story would’ve used that time to develop his relationships with the other Alphas in particular much better.

I usually adore Betas and Omegas in any OV, especially if they are together, but in this case the relationship between the beta and the Omega made me feel uncomfortable a few times. And the female beta felt like an after thought most of the time.

Also this cover doesn’t match the story??? It makes this look like a Paranormal romance, when it’s contemporary 😅

Real Review: 2.5 / 5 Stars

This book isn’t exactly bad, it’s just too long and too bogged down by unnecessary flashbacks.

Flashbacks are the enemy of suspense, propulsion, engagement, and pacing. They are the lazy path to exposition. And, in this book, they are redundant, as much of what is recounted in the flashbacks is either recounted again or alluded to in Terence’s (the protagonist) inner narrative as the book goes on. You show us, you don’t tell us.

If you took out the flashbacks, this book could’ve been about 50 pages lighter and probably a lot more engaging of a read. The way it reads now, it’s more depressing than romantic and more soppy than sexy.

I felt as if we got an uneven amount of time with all the characters in the book, and that irked me to no end when it came close to the end of the book and it was the very characters we learned the least about that stepped in to save the day, so to speak.

I’m sorry I couldn’t get into this book more, since a lot of people liked it. It’s just a no go for me.

Thanks to the author and The Hatters Author Services for providing me with early access to this book in exchange for a fair and honest review. As per personal policy, this review will not appear on social media or bookseller websites due to the 3 star or lower rating.

Overall, I enjoyed this story. I don't know if I'd label it reverse harem, more like polyamorous since all the characters have a romantic relationship with each other. I feel like there's a lack of poly stories, especially where the men are in love, so I was happy that Terence was taken in by the whole pack. I hope to read more books that feature a relationship like this in the future.

I did feel like this was overly long and weighed down by unnecessary descriptions of things and flashbacks. I wanted to focus on Terence and his potential new pack, not get stuck in the past. I also thought the story was too heavy with Terence and Kaiser and not enough of Marley, Phynn, and Adrian. If the balance was better, I don't think it would have felt so slow and it would have kept my attention better.

Some readers will love all the detail and slow burn and that's great! It just wasn't exactly what I was hoping for.

I voluntarily read and reviewed this book. All opinions are my own. Thank you to Hidden Gems and the author for the copy

2.5-3 stars. Honestly I probably wouldn't have read this if I'd realized that the male omega (Kaiser) and the main alpha (Terence) were the two main characters. I felt like Marley, the female beta, was never treated as well as Kaiser. It was briefly mentioned that she should be but it never really happened with actions or words. Kaiser was always the priority. Marley always felt like a runner up or an afterthought and I really didn't like the way she was treated by Terence. Like she wasn't good enough to explore a relationship with as a beta, but he just couldn't help himself with Kaiser as an omega. I was hoping this would have Lola and the Millionaires vibes with the female beta but it definitely didn't. The other two alphas didn't even feel like part of the story really. Overall it just kind of felt like a M/M book with some other people thrown in every once in a while. Totally fine if that's what you're looking for, but wasn't what I was expecting. I basically spent the whole book feeling sad and angry for Marley.

This story is a little lengthy, and I feel like the flashbacks are too many and too drawn out, which ends up taking away from the overall story. If we had less of these flashbacks, we would have had more time for our current pack.
There is something haunting and beautiful about the story and dealing with grief, but I think these flashbacks take up so much space that by the end we know Terrance’s old back better than we know the current one, which I don’t think is what we need.

I’ll also admit that I think this plays a big role in me struggling with some of the development in the relationships of this book.
Kaiser bothered me a little, because even though he’s an omega (I get it!), he was a little too selfish sometimes. His initial frustration and his whining about wanting Terrance before he even really knew him pissed me off because it felt so spoiled. I also really struggled with the moment where he called Marley to ask her to go shopping for Terrance…

Marley is a big sore spot in this book for me. She’s supposed to be important, right? She was with Phynn & Adrian first and has been with them for a decade. She welcomed Kaiser with open arms and loves and coddles him, just like their alphas. Terrance sees her and is struck but her and how gorgeous she is, etc.
But as we move through the book, I couldn’t help but feel like nobody gave an actual shit about her? Or, rather, that they didn’t treat her as though she was as important as the rest of them. I kept finding instances where she wasn’t properly included, where she was almost being used, or where the focus just wasn’t on her.
We have a scene where Phynn & Adrian send Kaiser away with Terrance for a heat spike; and they tell Marley that they know she’s been feeling left out and insecure, and they haven’t been alone with her for a long time so it’s her night. And I’m like ??? Great! Wow, congrats, you guys are so wonderful that you’re giving her this one night while you send Kaiser to the alpha that you know Marley is feeling insecure about. Thanks so much for giving her this one night…
To be the only woman in this pack and to feel like she’s just some prize to give babies at the end was really upsetting to me. Despite the fact that Marley takes care of them all better than anyone & is the one who literally saves their lives at the end.
It just made me feel queasy to think that you have this amazing woman in the pack who time after time proves to be selfless, and she really is treated like an afterthought compared to Kaiser.
At one point, Terrance builds her a “she-shed.” But he LITERALLY did it because he built this extravagant nest for Kaiser to spoil him and then realized he didn’t even think about Marley or courting her/doing things for her. It’s literally an afterthought when he realizes that Marley’s not an omega but she’d like someone to think of her too. Wow, what a revelation.

We have a lot of scenes showing Kaiser’s insecurities about being an omega and how he feels like he has to be a certain way, etc. This is all fine! I’m glad we get to know more about Kai and what he struggles with. But as the literal focal point of this whole pack, who everyone bends over backwards for, it’s a little much sometimes. Especially when Marley’s the only beta and constantly gets excluded or thought of after the fact, and we don’t get nearly enough of her struggles with always trying to be reserved and put together for the pack while struggling with feeling like an afterthought (which clearly she does feel at times).

I don’t think this was the author’s intention, but is a symptom of the overall writing where we get a lot of flashbacks and not enough development of the present, therefore we don’t know our current pack the way we should and it feels lopsided as far as attention goes.

So disappointed in this book. I saw it recommended in a few places and I am a SUCKER for an omegaverse! FIRST where on earth did this cover come from? It matches nothing from the book. This book was drawn out unnecessarily, a random “plot twist” at the end that brought nothing to the storyline besides coming from left field and being unnecessary conflict. Although there was the dynamics of an omegaverse this was a MM relationship with some background. It was a Kaiser and Terrence book. There is worshipping of an omega on a whole other level. I’ve never read an omegaverse where there was so much blatant favoritism. Even the omega is aware he’s treating his best friend and lover like trash, thinks about it, then continues to do it. Marley is a complete taken for granted afterthought and it truly ruined the book for me. The additional alphas in the book got less than minimal “screen time” and the flashbacks were excessive and unnecessary besides the MMC just waxing on. I should have just DNF’ed this book.

DNF.
First of all , author should’ve mentioned that main characters will be males , this is basically story between mens, there’s women which should be main character as well but she’s basically non existent.
I have nothing against this sort of books but it would’ve been nice to mention in description that omega is male as these books not for everyone.
I don’t mind male to male action in rv books but not as main content.
Marley basically non existed in this story which is why I stoped reading, I feel she was planted there on the side so this book wouldn’t be completely male to male book and attract more attention, but she’s hardly there, she’s hardly treated right , feels like she’s a side story, not main character, this isn’t what I expected from description.
Definitely not my book.

My heart just got chewed up and spat out. Terence! A lot of guilt and heartbreak. In the back of my mind I'm looking at the book percentage wondering where the murderous bad guy is. I should've gone into this one blind without the blurb. Kaiser and Marley heavy, although when the alpha connection is there. Phynn! I'm curious about Philia. Just when I thought it had all calmed down, there's the pack meeting. This one cut deep. So deep. Bitter sweet omegaverse.

Wow, just wow. This book will make you an emotional wreck from the very first chapter. I really wouldn't recommend reading this in public unless you are prepared to explain to a nice lady why a book has destroyed you- thanks for listening and the tissues Val, you're a gem!

I am a big fan of Omegaverse books especially the sweet ones so I was pleasantly surprised on Reitan's unique take. Usually in Omegaverse, the lead character is an omega, if they have multiple Alphas its usually a reverse harem- this was more poly with the pack already created and each have relationships with each other instead of the focus being on the omega. I liked this. Rather than follow an omega on their journey to finding a pack, our lead was Terence, an alpha. Dealing with a tremendous loss that causes Terence to hide away and isolate himself with his grief, we follow his journey of accepting his packs' death and with the help of Kaiser (Omega), Marley (Beta) and their Alphas' Adrian and Phynn, learn how to live again.

The writing of this book was perfect, the entire story flowed nicely and I was fully enraptured with the world building that took place. The personal development of individuals as well as relationships between Terence and Kaiser and Marley was a joy to read. With multiple POV it was easy to immerse yourself into the story and be sucker punched in the feels by every single character, though I didn't want to put the book down I had to just so I could rehydrate! The only thing I wished was different was the ending. Whilst the pace for 90% of the book was amazing, that final 10% was a little too fast. The buildup to the plot and its resolution just didn't match up. In a blink of an eye the resolution to the packs' biggest problem was done. I didn't see it coming, I needed to reread to so it would compute what happened. This is a standalone and already a thick book so I get everything needed to finish, but with the speed at which things were fixed it almost didn't need to be included as reading Terence's journey on finding love after loss is a truly beautiful story on its own without the need to add drama.

Overall I really enjoyed this book and am looking forward to reading more from this series even if they are standalone. Have tissues at the ready people, this is your final warning.

I wanted to like this one more. I've seen it recommended so many times and finally gave it a go.

The heartbreak in this book. It brought tears to my eyes a few times and I very rarely cry when I read. The flashbacks help reinforce that. I actually didn't mind reading those and didn't think they took away from the story like some people. They were part of the grieving process for Terence.

I do feel like there was a lot of unnecessary filler that did take away from the story. I don't need multiple, detailed scenes of a character working out at the gym. I don't need detailed steps given for cooking meals, especially if there's no recipe being shared. 😏

One thing that really bothered me about this was how frequently betas were talked about negatively. Betas in this universe are made out to be both jealous of omegas and pathetically desperate for alpha bites. So desperate that there was a vague mention of betas drugging alphas and selling their bites, forcing beta bonds. A scary story that had no other role in the book, IMO, other than to further paint betas in a bad light. Even our female beta character talks down on betas. The characters kept saying how she's treated equally to Kaiser but you don't see that. In fact, the first time Marley, Kaiser and Terence are together, she barely has time to get off before they are all but shoving her off so the alpha and omega can do their thing because their instincts were just too strong. 🙄 I feel like her role here was just to someday be the baby mama. Too much detail and attention is given to alpha and omega instincts and almost puts those designations on pedestals over betas. It didn't sit right with me. Typically with ABO, things are more equal, at least among the main characters. I just didn't get that vibe here and it took away from what I like about omegaverse. Honestly, this felt more like a MM romance but throw in a pack. Marley doesn't get closer with Terence until after the halfway mark. The other two alphas in their pack, Phynn and Adrian, get hardly any time at all with Terence so those relationships were just whatever. It was pretty much just a Terence and Kaiser book. If I'd known that before I started, I probably would have skipped this one because that's not what I was looking for right now. I think I would have enjoyed it more if it was supposed to be just MM.

As hard as I tried to get invested into this book, with every turn of the page my interest continued to decline. Not saying it was a terrible book, others may enjoy it, but the length was entirely too long and a lot of the writing could have been shortened considerably.

I’m all for flashbacks in a story, but when said flashbacks takes away the concept of suspense, and did little for the engagingly aspect. Had there been not as much, the story would have been a helluva lot better and definitely more interesting.

Character development is crucial in books, without this, you are missing the much needed background. Especially when the one character who eventually stepped up was rarely engaged throughout. I had high expectations, but unfortunately was not met.

I can not say enough fabulous things about this book, Crea Reitan has done an incredible job with this new adventure into the Omegaverse World. The characters are fabulous, with the right amount of Angst that leads to many emotions too many to list them all. The story is amazing and has created lots of feels for me while reading this. I do not want to give anything away but I want you as the reader to be able to experience everything first hand for yourself. Just know that I highly recommend this book to you.
You will not want to put this one down and you will want to devour each and every page!!!

I am looking forward to what else Crea has in store for us in the future!!!

Warning, small SPOILER possible.

Honestly, if the book wasn't, using another reader's words, so bogged down with useless memories, it would have been at least a 3 or 4 star rating from me.

However, said influx of memory time jumps, as well as the constant feel of a work out manual, I lost interest rather quickly.

I glossed over the workouts, and the memories because it was more of the exact same thing, just worded differently. So, I didn't see a point in reading it.

There were some parts that were interesting enough for me to want to get to the end but I have to say, the mob stuff should have start closer to the beginning of the book and not at the end...the title implies, that he was being hunted however, we don't read about it til the end of the book. Like, pow, suddenly the point to the book is thrown in our faces.... And what family confessions did Marley mean to explain why there was amo all over the house??? We don't get an answer to that...so, I am confused.

Anyway, I invite ppl to read this book and share your thoughts.

I, personally, did not enjoy it but, that doesn't mean someone else won't.

Not sure how I should begin my review. I never make it easy with rating, and how to decide what I want to say about it.

First thing, Crea Reitan is one of my favorite authors, even though I have only read Chronicles of Blood/Madness, so far. But this series is the one, that comes to my mind when asked what is my favorite book/series. It's a huge feat, considering Omegaverse is my favorite genre. At the time, when I read Chronicles of Blood, I was on a fairy tale trip (which is a favorite genre too, but not that regular), and Alice in Wonderland is my favorite fairy tale.

But it introduced me to Crea Reitan too, and I'm in her group and follow up on releases. The only reason I didn't read another book like Neverland, so far, was that I have the penchant to read only finished series. And last I looked, the series I'm interested in weren't finished or released yet.

So, seeing this book was standalone, and, which is an important incentive for me, is Omegaverse, I couldn't resist. I had to read it. I was sure this book will be unique. And I was right. It was a mix of well-known Omegaverse traits, and still has a unique way in plot and characters. The main character was an Alpha, and not like usual an Omega or sometimes a Beta (it's rare too). And it wasn't exactly a Reverse Harem, more like polyamorous relationships. Which I liked too.

Though, I have to say, it wasn't easy for me to go through that book. I needed a lot of breaks during the reading. So, I have to agree with some of the more negative reviews here, that the book is extremely lengthy, and a lot is repeated over and over again. The flashbacks, though I think it was meant to introduce the pack behind them, felt a bit redundant. Still, it makes me more involved in the lost pack, and sad, considering what there could have been.

And it took a lot of time till the moment Terence comes together with the new pack members. It took over half of the book until Terence met the other alphas. Most part was only focused on him and Kaiser. With Marley then, too. And, of course, his struggles. So, even if the build up and the pace of the relationships, considering his trauma, was natural and realistic, I wished it would have been more even between all the pack members.

But still, it was a great book. I love how Crea Reitan writes characters, who feel realistic and the emotions behind them. I felt Terence's grief and hurt. There were moments I had tears in my eyes, just imagining how horrible this scenario was.

And the ending is a bitter-sweet one. As I said, knowing what could have been, if the reality was another. I would have loved to see that. But unfortunately, Crea has a tendency to leave behind possibilities that never will be. (I haven't forgotten about two certain persons from Chronicles of Blood/Madness, who never got the ending I wished for – I'm still sad!) And it won't be the last time, I'm sure.

I'm not quite sure about the reasoning, why all the things had to happen that way.

Overall, for me, this book is five stars. Even though it wasn't easy for me. But it is unique, and I want to read the next book.

FINALLY AN ORIGINAL STORYLINE!! I cannot believe a finally read a sweet omegaverse that surprised and moved me again. I've read many (MANY) sweet omegaverse and they all feel the same after a while and the writing is just not there. This plot was original and so well written. I felt like I was reading Lola and Pack Darling for the first time again.
First, I've to say that I've seen comments on Facebook groups about what everyone wanted to see in an omegaverse story. And this was it for me. I've always wondered about grief, the slow integration of another member, and jealousy. I felt all those. The characters weren't perfect, they felt human. Their feelings were warranted. The designations they had played a huge part and at the same time were fluid. I hated all the attention the omega got. I could see, at the same time, how he disliked it too and at the same couldn't be different. I felt like the beta. Like she wasn't acknowledged as much as she should even though her packmates did everything they could so she felt otherwise. The pressure the alphas carried to make them happy ALL THE TIME and how they had to just stand down at let them do their thing.
I wished to see a lot of Marley and the Alphas. The story took so long with the omega that their relationship progressed much faster and I felt like I was missing out on something great. But everything single page was necessary. I loved it so much.
The last scene was perfect!!!!
Now some things that got to me:

Another author that’s going on my author to read list.
A really good read, and I’m hoping this will be the start of a new series.

Written in multiple points of view (which sometimes can get a little confusing) But this one had clear characters so I didn’t get confused at all.

It’s a story set in the Omegaverse (a universe where Alpha/Beta/Omega are an everyday occurrence, it can be human or shifter)

Main characters are: Terence (who is an alpha) Kaiser (the omega) Marley (beta) Phynn and Adrian (who are both alpha’s)

It’s full of emotion, full of action and I couldn’t put it down, have tissues handy and chocolate at the ready! Twists and a few sudden turns will have you trying to read the pages faster. 😆

Terence starts the story. A few weeks ago he’d lost his pack in an accident, totally bereft, totally at a loss at which direction his life would go…
We then follow him as he goes through the motions of shutting down his emotions, we watch as he cuts contact with everyone, he interacts with no one!
Being an absent/silent owner in the juice shop his pack owned is his only source of contact, the gym is where he goes to tire himself out! And that’s his life!

Meeting Kaiser should have been a happy moment (he and his pack were always searching for an omega to add to their home) but it’s only bringing back sad memories, so when he meets Marley in the same moment as Kaiser, walking away is the only course of action. He can’t, he won’t put himself through it again!

But Kaiser and Marley aren’t willing to let him get away, Kaiser might be the omega, but he has the pack wrapped around his finger, Phynn and Adrian now want to meet the alpha who made their beta and Omega decide they need an additional alpha added to the pack.

There is M/M content, so if it’s not your thing I’d suggest you not pick it up. There is also MFM, it’s a reverse harem in full swing. It is a slow burn, but once it gets going …… 😉

You can’t but hope Terence accepts his feelings for a potentially new pack. You hope Marley and Kaiser can persuade Terence to join their pack.

And when Terence finds out his old pack was actually murdered and not a car accident his first thought is he should have been with them.

Can he find out who and why his old pack was murdered before he loses his new pack?

I loved this book and I can’t wait to return to it at some point.

I am speechless at how amazing this book was. This book ripped out my heart and slowly got sewn back together. I mean I was pretty much crying through the whole book. I absolutely LOVE books that can bring out my emotions and this one absolutely did. Crea did an incredible job with her venture into the omegaverse world.

I am a huge fan of omegaverse and I enjoyed how different this book is compared to others. Rather than having an omega or female as the lead, we have an male alpha. But I loved that it changed a little bit and there was an male alpha that was the main lead of the story.

Terrance the MMC, lost everyone in his pack from an accident. He hides himself away and tries to isolate himself, going thru motions each day. He is trying not to feel. This story follows his journey of accepting what he has lost but also what he is to gain. Kaiser (Omega), Marley (Beta), Adrian and Phynn (Alphas) help Terrance learn how to live again and learn to accept that he isn’t letting go of his pack but learning that is gaining more pack.

Spice? There was definitely spice in it, but it didn’t overpower the plot of the story which I liked. Crea was able to create a good balance. Terrance at first was trying to push emotions to the back of his mind and push the pack away, but his wall that was up cracked little by little.

I loved the overall plot as well, I think Crea did amazing with the characters and the flow of the story. I liked the pace it was set at and the way that Terrance was able to open up to the others.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. It was an amazing read and I will definitely be rereading the book. I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone. Make sure to read the TW before reading the book as it does have a very emotional plot to the story.

I think this is probably the most emotionally taxing story that Crea has written to date. She's never managed to make me tear up in her previous books, but this book hit me hard in the feels. I don't think I was prepared for there to be so much involved both mentally, emotionally, and physically to get Terence from point A to point B after his recent past with his pack, but the journey to get there was well worth it.

I loved that this book had Terence as a main character, partly because you don't see a lot of RH or poly books with a male being the main focus of the story, and partly because it allowed us to see a strong alpha character be something other than what is typical of an alpha, not searching for an omega and not surrounding himself with others for comfort. He does the complete opposite and for a very good reason, although the other characters in this book don't understand it at first.

Crea tackled grief really well in this book, showing how sometimes people decide to focus on the good memories and other times decide to run away from them, leaving everything behind. Terence was definitely a runner and pushed himself through his day just to wake up and do it all over again. He wasn't living; he was surviving. Because how can you live if everything you ever lived for is taken abruptly away? The only thing you can do is continue surviving until you no longer can or until you find something else to live for. Kaiser, Marley, Phynn, and Adrian were those things, the people who made life worth living for again. It did take some time, a lot of forward and backward steps, and quite a bit of self loathing and grief to get to a good place, but Terence finally got there after finding the people who were willing to help put together his broken pieces and just be there when he needed them.

This started off well enough. Even though I thought Terence’s life was incredibly boring, I enjoyed reading about Kaiser pursuing him. You don’t typically see an omega chasing after an alpha (or at least I haven’t), so this was a refreshing take.

I was disappointed that we didn’t get more Marley, though. The description made it seem like she’d get equal page-time as Kaiser but the relationships seemed to be majority about him. I think my main issue with that is that Kaiser was very one-dimensional. He had a one-track mind and whined often. It was all about getting him presents and making sure he felt okay. Even when Terence was rehashing his traumatic past, everyone wanted to comfort Kaiser. It was very frustrating. Thank goodness for the other pack members. I found Marley to be a really interesting character (from the little we get of her) and I really appreciated how sweet the alpha-to-alpha components were.

Somewhere along the way, I remembered that we were promised a mystery in the book description and was desperate to get to it in hopes of something more exciting. That didn’t come until about 85% of the way in and I almost immediately regretted wishing for it to show up. The resolution was so outlandish and super quick. I honestly think that could have been skipped without impacting the storyline in a major way.

While this book didn’t work out for me, I do like that it was something different in a genre that’s becoming pretty saturated with similar storylines and characters.

Book 1 of a series of Standalones

💜Poly Omegaverse MMFMM
💜First person/Multi POV
💜MM
💜No cheating or OW drama
💜Broken Alpha
💜Male Omega
💜Knotting and nesting
💜HEA
💜Slow burn

Harem- Terence, Kaiser, Marley, Phynn and Adrian

The main character is the alpha Terence in this. The female beta Marley doesn’t get a lot of page time. Yes she is with all of the guys but this is more about the omega Kaiser and Terence. Most of the POVs and spicy scenes are with Terence and Kaiser.

So this story is about Terence who loses his entire pack to a car accident and him moving across the country. He meets the male omega Kaiser and female beta Marley at a gym but runs away from them. They keep running into each other and he finally decides to start seeing the omega. Adrian and Phynn are Alphas and they are both bonded to Kaiser and Marley. He eventually starts to open up alittle to Kaiser. He only really sees Kaiser for a couple weeks/months (can’t remember) before he starts seeing Marley. He gets a text message from a strange number and that’s when he realizes that the car accident wasn’t an accident, his pack was murder and now the ones responsible are after him.

The mafia add on and Marley just casually killing people was kind of weird. Like it wasn’t really necessary drama in my opinion. Though I guess it opens up more storylines for future books. At least I hope cuz if not then it really was unnecessary lol

There are alot of flashbacks about his old pack. I’m actually really sad they are dead, I want a whole ass book about them and them not dying 👀

The writing is great, she definitely can write a book

Be ready to have your heart broken. If you've ever lost someone you loved, then you'll be able to relate to the grief that hangs like a weighty fog across Terence's whole life. He lost his whole pack, his happy family, in one senseless tragedy. He suffers from survivor's guilt. Even the good memories that surface without warning, quickly drag him down into the loneliness and hopelessness that has taken root in his heart.

This is the state Terence is in when we meet him, but this story is about the slow healing that takes place in his life. Through the hope and determination of Kaiser and Marley, then the rest of their pack, Terence begins to heal and see the light that still exists in the world. Kaiser is an omega who is everything Terence could have wanted, before he stopped wanting anything at all. Marley is sweet and insightful, with a hidden strength that sees her pack through their rocky times. The two alphas already in the pack help ground and support them all.

This was a great take on Omegaverse. It shows us that none of the roles are without struggles, even if some are more desirable by the masses. I liked that this wasn't one of the takes where omegas are treated as slaves. It's much more enjoyable when they're the heart of the pack.

This was a great book but be ready for all the feels!

emotionally powerful

Holy cow, this book was so emotional and tugged on my heart strings from the first page. I am not one who gets overly emotional when reading unless animals are involved but this one has me tearing up several times. This book had a heavy mental health presence with plenty of spice, a little bit of dramatic action, and wonderful relationship building/growing pains.

The author did a fantastic job of portraying the main character, who is a male by the way, his struggles with his mental health, depression, and grief. It was done in a powerful yet tactful manner. The way the author managed to convey the pain he was experiencing was almost visceral to me. It was beautifully done.

I loved how the author addressed the jealousy issue with Marley. She is the only female in this story and rather being the coveted omega, she is the beta. The author showcased the jealousy and hurt with Marley but I think the author did a great job with “fixing” that issue. I will admit, I was getting a little jealous for Marley but she was still able to have her time and her moments within the harem where she is the center of attention.

A majority of this book focused on the changing dynamic of the pack/harem with the addition of another alpha, the relationship building between them all, and the mental health struggle we witnessed. It did have a little bit of action towards the end of the book but I’m glad it didn’t overshadow the mental health struggle Terence was going through, I think that would have taken away from such a powerful aspect of the book.

I highly recommend this book if you’re looking for an emotional read, classy and tactful portrayal of depression and grief, MM, high heat, and omegaverse.

Standalone with the option for more books from different characters.

Poly romance Includes, pack hierarchy in non shifters, alphas, betas, rare male omegas, pack bonds, knotting, love after grief, starting over, muscle man with heavy focus on m/m

I’ve not read an Omegaverse before so had no idea what to expect and was pleasantly surprised. This story follows Terence our Alpha. Terence and his pack had dreamed of an Omega to complete them but when tragedy strikes and Terence loses his entire pack he attempts to hide away with his grief spending the rest of his life alone until he meets Kaiser a rare male Omega and a beta female Marley. Instantly attracted to both he panics and flees. Although Kaiser and Marley already have a pack with two wonderful Alpha’s - Phynn and Aiden - they are determined to make Terence theirs.

I will admit I was confused at first, I’ve never read a book with a pack hierarchy but the characters aren’t shifters so I every time I heard ‘pack’ I jumped to wolves and had to have a quiet word with myself.
Overall this book was beautifully written the epilogue especially brought tears to my eyes. It is a standalone introducing us to the universe with more books planned involving different characters.

This is a standalone in the Knotty and Sweet Omegaverse and it's a great story. It's also a sad story. Terrance loses his pack - that's not a spoiler, it happens in the prologue. He loses his entire pack in one accident and he is a shell of a man afterward (as you'd expect). One day he meets an omega and a beta as he's leaving the gym (where he works out to mentally exhaust himself so he can sleep at night) and although scent attracted, he runs away (literally). The rest of the story involves Kaiser (the omega) and Marley (the beta) - who are fantastic characters, basically chasing, and healing Terrance along with (eventually) their alphas. It's a sad, but beautiful story and has a beautiful ending. Heavier on plot than spicy times but the spice is great when it happens. Also I love that Terrance has more experience with men, so he's super nervous when it comes to courting Marley (it's adorable!). Totally recommend, just have some tissues in the back half... and be patient with Terrance, the man needs a therapist and Kaiser is super patient, even though I wanted to shake Terrance to tell him to stop isolating himself in his grief, but then we each handle grief differently so who am I to judge him??

Holy emotional roller coaster ride. I will say this is my first book by this author, and it is my first omegaverse..... I am not gonna lie I was not sure how I was gonna fill about this book. When I read the blub I fell in love with it and thought what the hell I will give it a try. This author managed to rip my heart and made me feel each and every heart wrenching feeling our MC feels.
There were more than a few times I found myself silently sobbing. My heart hurt so much for Terrence I wanted to wrap him in my arms and take all his hurt away... My husband looked at me more than once wondering just what was wrong with me and why i was crying. Men right?
Terrence has lost everything that has ever met anything to him. He is not sure how to move on. He is barely living just making sure he places one foot in front of the other. Enter our omega and his pack mate beta. Terrence is not sure what to make of the feelings he is beginning to have he feels the pull with Kaiser and Marley and it scares him more than anything. These two are drawn to this alpha and refuse to allow him to just survive. They show him what it means to live again.

He lost everyone he loved in one day. So, he moved across the country hoping for some peace from the memories and the loss. He spends his days in the gym in an effort to exhaust his body so he can sleep. An omega and a beta, both beautiful, walk into the gym, and he quickly realizes that they have the power to change his life in ways he’s not sure he’ll ever be ready for, but he also finds out that he can’t resist either. Unfortunately, his nightmare won’t end with a new pack when it is discovered that his pack was not lost in a tragic accident, and that the is a target, too.

Wow, I loved all these characters, but Terence, and his loss broke my heart. I will confess that he made me cry. All of these characters are well written, compelling, and absolutely fascinating. I also thought that this writer was spot on in her narrative about the pain suffered by the survivor(s) of the unexpected loss of a loved one. Love and loss, unexpected and initially, unwanted attraction, sizzling hot polyamorous interactions, on the run from killers, and surprising twists in the plot. I think this is a must-read series starter, and I highly recommend it. Fantastic book!
