Did you ever think that you knew someone so well that nothing they did could surprise you? Yeah, me too. Until my best friend came up with a doozy.
It’s a new year and there’s a new murder in Sandy Harbor, Maine. It would seem that it’s business as usual until Allie finds out who the victim is. Lucy’s ex-husband. The catch is that Lucy never told anyone she had been married to anyone other than her current husband, Ed.
Allie’s not sure what to make of this. They told each other everything, didn’t they? Why didn’t Lucy mention she had been married to someone else? And why is the body of her ex-husband in her storage shed?
This is the 17th book in A Freshly Baked Cozy Mystery and it is good. It is January and Allie with her friend Lucy discovers a corpse in Lucy's shed. And this gets very personal because the dead man is Lucy's ex husband. I enjoyed reading this book. I like its atmosphere. I like reading about Allie's adventures where she tries to investigate the murder. Looking forward to the next book in this nice serie.
It’s a new year in Sandy Harbor, Maine as Lucy and Allie are running, Lucy mentions that she still has her Christmas tree up and Allie volunteers to help her take it down. Unfortunately, taking the boxes to her storage shed, they discover a dead body. That body being Lucy’s ex-husband who Allie knew nothing about. Thus, the investigation begins and the evidence points to Lucy. What else is Lucy keeping from Allie? Could she had really murdered her ex-husband or was she being framed. Join Allie and Alec as they investigate.
This is such a wonderful series. The mystery was great with lots of twists. The characters are very likable and the story flows well. The author kept my attention and interest throughout the entire book so much I had a hard time putting the book down. Nice plot with great lively, vibrant characters that add a depth to the read. Highly recommend the series!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Allie and anyone reading the series learned a surprising new thing about Allie's bestie Lucy, and now she was the prime suspect of killing the body she and Allie found in her garden shed. It honestly wasn't too hard to figure out who really did it since we all know it couldn't be Lucy.
Lucky for Allie and Alec, it was a fairly peaceful showdown and once more, Allie had put helped put the puzzle pieces together. Even though the theme of this was interesting, I can't say it was one of the best in this series. Moving on to the next one in KU, and soon I'll be caught up.
I really love, love, love this series!!!! Allie and Lucy are out getting their morning runs started, and talking about a marathon run the following summer. After they agree to half a marathon, they set up the training schedule. They stop at the Cup and Bean coffee shop. They run into Mr. Winter and they talk about their Christmas they had. Lucy comment on not taking down her tree yet, so Allie offers to help, they gets the storage tubs to put the decorations back in them. As they finish and take the tubs outside to the shed in Lucy's backyard, she realizes the shed is locked, but she or Ed had not locked it. Lucy unlocked it and opens the.door to put in the tubs of decorations in she and Allie find.a dead body inside. Allie calls Alec, he.gets there and ask do they know who it is? Lucy speaks up and says she knows!!!! Now you have to get the book to find.out!!!! You won't be disappointed!!!!!
I have enjoyed this author's other series, Pumpkin Hollow, quite a bit so I decided to try another one of hers. Overall, I didn't like it as much as the PH, but that could be just because it is so new and I am not used to the characters yet. Plus, I found the best friend to be a touch annoying. Maybe she will grow on me the more I read.
