Things have always been rough on the streets of Miami, but when Ethan and Holm have their night out at Mike's interrupted by a pitched gang battle, things have gotten out of hand. Worse, this plague of violence isn't a localized problem but something sweeping through from the Caribbean.
And then things get worse.
Arson at MBLIS Miami's headquarters and armed gunmen attacking their agents make it apparent that these gangs are being used as weapons. And not just to take down MBLIS... but to destroy one man, Ethan Marston. A fact made abundantly clear when Tessa is kidnapped.
But Marson's not going to take this lying down. He's going to rescue Tessa and break apart this new organized crime alliance... or die trying.
Matt Lincoln has lived his entire life on the coast and he wouldn't have it any other way. A lifelong fan of Travis McGee, Magnum PI, and just about anyone who knows their way around a boat and a good cigar, Matt now lives where the sand meets the surf with his beautiful wife, a son who reminds him way too much of himself at that age, and an Irish Setter who he can never seem to tire out. Life is good.
I know that most writers improve with time. Mr Lincoln here has got a classic going in this series. This one book has moved him up in his style and design of the flow for this book. Several times I found myself at 3am forcing my self put down one of his books. This one would not let me. I had to force myself not to binge read this book. His style has greatly improved over the beginning of this series and he has evolved these characters to a point where you feel they are part of your friends. Well done and I hate the fact I have to wait for his next book. It is already in my calendar.
The act on the team at their home based added a level of drama and excitement. Also, having Tessa and Holmes in harms way gave us a deeply interesting story I strongly recommend d reading this book. Enjoy and relax as Marathon continues to fight for the lives of his friends.
Seriously. I like a good escapist read, but after 24 books it's still the same story again? No movement on the subplot, it's just buy my next book. Sheesh, even Tolstoy could end a story. Lincoln has side series to keep the income going, please actually DO something with this one.
Way to go Matt! Another great story and a peek into the next one. As I said before the only bad thing is I read them to fast . I wish they were a 800 page book 😁.
Ethan and Tessa’s relationship is interesting to follow. Ethan and Holm are pretty much fearless. I like the storytelling at the bar. Will he ever find the Rogue and will he ever make a permanent step forward with Tessa ?
