With a conflicted heart, Jess leaves Harrison and Martha Heller to begin his hunt for Herman Conway. The chase takes him to Lake Lillian, Texas, where he meets a young woman by the name of Bonnie, along with her young brother Fred.
When Conway discovers that Jess is in Lake Lillian, he kidnaps Fred as a bargaining chip in case Jess is on his trail. Feeling somewhat responsible, Jess goes after Conway and finds him, but has to let him escape in order to get Fred back alive.
After securing Fred’s release, Jess resumes the hunt for Conway. Along the way though, trouble seems to get in his way at every turn.

I am more and more disappointed with the Jess Williams books. I feel like Mr. Morris is either tired of or bored with the series. It takes me several days now to read his book because it lacks real action, suspense, and that page turning fever. It is now filled with redundancy and repetitious words. I feel like the series has run its course for me. I have read all of the books, 1-113. When the characters in the book start mumbling and muttering and talking to themselves, it makes me feel like they are as bored as Mr. Morris and I are. I don't think I will be buying anymore of these books. I would recommend the first 100 books, but none after.
There are to dislike about this book for as usual it is good reading from start to finish please hurry with the next book as enjoy them very much macfarlanePatrick@gmail.com 👍
As always a very good read. Once I pick up a book on Jess Williams I finish it in one day. They are so hard to lay down. I just have to see what happens next. Love these books. Thank you Robert J. Thomas for a awesome read.
This is a plot copy of every book in this series. Jess hunts down the meanest, nastiest outlaws wanted dead or alive. Read one Jess Williams book, you have read them all.
