You don't need to be a child to enjoy this book...in fact, I believe this 40th anniversy tribute to ET was geared for the millennials who were the first to be introduced to E.T. in 1983! There was so much to be learned from E.T. - compassion, bravery, love, acceptance - everything needed to get us through the trials and tribulations 40 years later.

The illustrations are really fun and make up roughly half of the book. However, I found the connections made in the writing to be a little tenuous. Every other page has a paragraph explaining a life lesson, but many of them are a few sentences about a scene from the film, followed by a generic statement about life that may or may not support the preceding anecdote.

I’ve actually never seen the movie, but I thought the book was adorable. Great life lessons to share in an extremely quick read.
