A New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author, Penelope Sky is known for her dark romance that makes you fall for her characters….no matter how dark they seem. Her books are being translated into several languages around the world, and she’s sold more than a million books worldwide. She lives in a small town in California with her husband, where she spends most of her time writing on the back porch.
Well, I don’t know what to say! I didn't expect it! I was enjoying this series but this one had a weak plot! Actually, it didn’t have a real plot! Didn’t happen anything until the last chapter! It was quite a disappointment for me! But I’m not going to quit reading the series. Told in dual POV, 1st person. It’s the third installment in the "Lingerie" series and it must be read in order. It ends on a cliffhanger, a huge one!
I am sitting here "googling" if there is a leak of Queen In Lingerie, how pathetic.
I can't not wait until June 5th, no way, so I am going to message Penelope Sky herself and ask, nicely, to have the 4th book. I have to know what happens, I mean I know what is going to happen but I need to know how it happens!
What in the F is Conway thinking? He is being so dumb. AH!
He is going to loose it when he sees she is modeling for his biggest competitor but SHAME ON HIM--poor muse.
There is not too much to say about these books because it is mainly back and forth between the characters but there was a lot that did happen that has my curiosity spiked....
Will Pearl, Crow, Cane and Adeline ever tell Conway and Carter the truth about everything? How Pearl received the name Buttons and who really killed Bones? Will Carter take his own advice when he meets his muse? How will Vanessa react to Conway breaking things off with Sapphire? Will Carter and Conway continue dabbling in the underground?
and I have to wait until June 5th for the next one? seriously?
12 flipping books and each one is released every month (FML)
I can’t get enough of these Barsetti’s! This is book 3 in the next generation and you can start here, but it is good to know the background as I have a feeling this series will eventually have spoilers for the original Button series.
We still have Conway denying that he really has feelings for Sapphire (like father like son). He does begin to agree to her demands, but when things become more real he can’t admit how he feels. Is he going to lose her for good? Also, there is a huge shock in this book when someone dark comes in to play….maybe?
I can’t wait to see what happens next in their journey.
So I just wanted to say your book kept me going every time I thought I knew what was going to happen it took a whole different turn but I love the dynamic between the characters it remind me of buttons but she was still different
Lady In Lingerie is Penelope Sky’s 3rd installment into Conway Barsetti and his “Muse” Sapphire. I found this one extremely hard to put down and reread it more than once before I could write this review. That is simply how good it was.
Penelope took us on a joy ride from hell. Our couple has come to the point of their relationship that they are inseparable in constant need of each other for not just physical love but emotional support. But is it not just physical because Conway breaks many of his rules including calling her his girlfriend in public and no more runways. Sapphire is falling in love with Conway and has no problem telling people that which is something he can’t tolerate or accept.
But there is more. Someone named Bones who is his father’s son and about the same age as Conway and Carter. He comes into the picture during their illegal activities and the Barsetti cousins must inform their parents of their underground activities which angers both father’s. Crow and Cane who still vividly remember what happen to the original Bones that caused so much grief in Button’s life. The elder Barsetti’s inform the boys as much as they can about Bones without the magic information that Buttons is the one who killed the senor Bones.
The cliffhanger is heartbreaking, and I can assure you that you will cry after wanting to beat Conway to death yourself. You must read this book which is nicely written and will make all your emotions come to life.
Thanks to Penelope Sky for creating such colorful characters with broken souls. It is an honor to be apart of the ARC for this writer.
In this installment the romance is getting hotter and hotter. All of Sapphire’s debt has been paid by Conway opening up the door to her freedom but she has made up her mind that she will stay because he is her safe place. But once the true feelings of love and commitment come to light Conway pushes her away. Will he ever trust in himself to accept love from Sapphire or will he push her into the world on her own? And what will happen when an enemy from the past now has an offspring? Once again, Penelope Sky does not disappoint. I loved every page of this book and cannot wait until the next is available.
June 5 can’t come fast enough! I waited to read any of this story until three were out, thinking I could read them slowly and June 5 would be fine. It isn’t. I lost sleep devouring this story. Conway...what an asshole, just as he says. It isn’t like he didn’t grow up in a home full of love and has never experienced it. Seems like he is just a self serving ass. Muse....what a woman she has become, so strong. She holds her head up high. While I am sure Conway will get his head out of his behind and eventually all will be well. I almost hope she finds someone more worthy of her. Penelope, you are a genius. You have an amazing editing staff!
Bueno .. será que ya me he ido acostumbrando a esta pareja o no se .. él sigue sin gustarme por el momento pero la historia va introduciendo cositas que te mantienen con la intriga hasta el siguiente ... Asi que seguiremos!
"Buttons and Devotion," the third installment in Penelope Sky’s next-generation Barsetti saga, continues to enthrall readers with its intricate blend of romance, suspense, and familial legacies. This novel not only deepens the enigmatic relationship between Conway and Sapphire but also introduces twists that could change the course of their lives forever. From the beginning, Conway's stubborn denial of his feelings for Sapphire echoes the complexities faced by his father, adding layers of familial drama and psychological depth to his character. His struggle between conceding to Sapphire's demands and his own fear of vulnerability makes for a compelling read. As Conway's internal battle leads him to potentially irreversible decisions, readers are left questioning whether he will lose Sapphire due to his inability to open up Sky masterfully weaves in suspense with the introduction of a dark, mysterious character that threatens to upend the fragile stability Conway and Sapphire have managed to build. This twist not only heightens the stakes but also adds a thrilling element of danger and intrigue to the narrative. Sky’s storytelling prowess shines in her ability to craft multi-dimensional characters whose desires and fears resonate with the reader. The evolving relationship between Conway and Sapphire is portrayed with a raw intensity that captures the highs and lows of their emotional journey. The book’s pacing is excellent, balancing romantic development with suspenseful plot twists that keep the pages turning.

This book was disappointing for me. Very repetitive and a lot of nothing much happened. The blurb led me to believe something was going to eventuate but it never did.
Overall, I did enjoy the Lingerie series, probably because I'm a sucker for alpha males (in books, let's be clear :p). However, these books had too many mistakes, too many repetitions, sometimes a paragraph was placed twice in the same book, a whole paragraph! How does that even happen??? I felt like the author thought I was stupid or had a very bad memory because she kept repeading why the characters were attracted to each other, why they couldn't be together, why it was wrong to love each other, etc. Writing four books for the same couple is just absurd and unncessary here, one book for one story would have been enough! Also the characters had the same way of talking, the same personnalities, the author literally toke the same characters but changed their physics and their background story a little bit and bam she had a new book.
However, I feel like this series could have some potential if she made it shorter, worked on her characters and had an editor (because I guess she doesn't have one?).
This relationship between Conway and Sapphire with the introduction of Conway’s parents is heating up . Vanessa wants to spend time with her and His Mother does too. Conway is falling deeply completely madly in love with his Muse and denying it every way he can....yes he wants her in his life forever but he is not ready for a marriage or children. Out of guilt he pays off all her New York debts and even meets with Knuckles to give him the money that Sapphires brother owed him . His Muse is now debt free and Conway has told her , he wants her to stay but he is giving her her freedom . They fly to NYC for Conway’s next big show . Who shows up from no where a younger "Bones" exactly what this means no one knows but Conway and Carter go meet with their Fathers to share this , they confess about the underground and their Father insist they never go there again . Sapphire is caught by the paparazzi and they ask her if she loves Conway and she says yes , when Conway hears this he is brutal to Sapphire throws up a wall of defense no one can gets through and tell her to Get out ......she does 😪😱😰 These books about Conway and Muse are unbelievable , can't put down , very comparable to the Button books about Crew and Buttons ...maybe not quite as dark but every bit as gripping

We get to see the more human side of Conway, the side that his family knows and loves, the side that he doesn’t show anyone, and this is the side that the world should see. All because Sapphire was able to break through some of his walls.
The bulk of this story is taking us on a journey where Conway realizes that he needs ‘Muse’ and she admits to herself that she needs him, but as we’ve seen in the previous installments, she’s not willing to compromise and diminish her worth just to let him feel powerful. The exchange of power between them is complex and entertaining. Conway realizes quickly that without Muse, his work suffers. And when Conway ‘frees’ Sapphire, she realizes that she can’t live without him.
Add to that the layer of the Barsettis that come into play in this story. We get to see a lot more of Vanessa since she and Sapphire have developed a friendship. We see that Conway’s parents are truly happy to see their son finally in a relationship and one with a woman as lovely as Sapphire. We see Carter even begin to take on a more vocal role in things. The dynamic of Carter and Conway is exactly that of Cane and Crow and i really like seeing that.
At the end of the last book, you’ll remember that Sapphire was made an offer to go work for a competitor of Conway, and that’s something that comes back up in this story as well. She’s offered more money than anyone could fathom having, and her feelings for Conway makes it a hard decision to make/turn down/take. It’ll be interesting to see how that one plays out since we know that Mr Lexington reached out to Conway first and then found his way to Sapphire. She still doesn’t know that Conway knew about the offer first.
Add to that, Bones reappears. You’ll remember him from Pearl and Crow’s story and i think that the name alone makes everyone nervous. The way that Conway and Carter discover him puts their families at risk, puts a wedge between everyone who loves each other, instills fear in everyone, and forces the younger generation to make a promise about how they will live their lives moving forward. HUGE compromises for men who are powerful, feel that they are invincible and really don’t like being told what to do.
Where we net out though is an admission of truths, anger and hatred, and all relationships that we thought were solid being pulled apart. It’s anyone’s guess on how things will pan out in the next book, but the names Knuckles, Bones….Skull Kings…they all come to mind and you have every reason to be concerned!
The consistency though that keeps this series going and makes it so enjoyable and engaging is the fact that the dynamic between Conway and Sapphire is hot, and it’s real when they are alone. They share something so deep and romantic, but it’s only behind closed doors. The chemistry that they have, the magnetism that they share is something truly remarkable and very well written in this story, that when you see things crash and burn, you know that there has to be something on the other side – even if it’s different than what was intended. On that note, i’m off to read the next book and i can’t wait to see who ends up where and with whom
Those stubborn Barsetti men will be the death of me!
The title of my review says it all. Geez… just when I thought I was going to have that warm fuzzy feeling of a happy ending, Ms. Sky whips it away like some magician yanking away a tablecloth to leave everything still perfectly standing… except nothing is perfect anymore and it’s a complete mess!!
I’ll do the usual, ‘don’t read this book until you’ve read at least the first two books in this series’. I should also add however that you really need to read the whole six books of the original Button series to truly understand these infuriating Barsetti men.
Infuriating!! That’s a good word for Conway Barsetti… stubborn, pigheaded, jaded, blind, cowardly, ridiculous, pathetic… there’s some others just for good measure. Just like Sapphire, I love this guy so much when he’s not being an idiot who thinks love isn’t real.
I don’t get it!! I don’t get him!! If he’d grown up with parents who didn’t love each other, I’d understand his feelings… but by his own admission, he’s grown up surrounded by love. His parents are still so in love that he must be able to see that true love does exist… yet he continues to try to convince himself that he will never fall in love… except, when it comes to how he actually feels, he’s so deeply in love that he’s scared. He’d sooner push that love away than admit that someone has any kind of power over him. Even though he knows Sapphire has his heart in her hands, he can’t accept that she is the only one who deserves it.
You see… infuriating!!
Conway… please, just listen to your heart and as your cousin rightly say, get your head out of you rectum!! You love her… she loves you. It’s as simple as that.
He better go and fight for her in the next book or I’m flying to Verona myself to sort him out!! (Yes, don’t worry, I know he’s a fictional character and not real, but hey it’s an excuse to visit that gorgeous city!)
This series is exceptional in both its page-turning quality and the level of emotional frustration. Just like the Buttons series, I can’t put it down. This series isn’t quite as bloody and action packed but there’s enough tension and turmoil to keep you reading. I’m desperate for Sapphire to finally get the love she wants from the man who has changed her life. Conway Barsetti… man-up! Love doesn’t make you weak, it only weakens you when it’s gone.
I am left gobsmacked and delighted to have read yet another amazing book in the sensual romance of Conway and his Muse by Penelope Sky! Lady in Lingerie follows straight from the ending of the last book ‘Beauty in Lingerie’, where Sapphire has been offered a deal of a lifetime by a rival lingerie designer of Conway’s, Andrew Lexington. And we are left wondering if she will accept it or not... I won’t tell you whether she says yes or no but get ready for the relationship between Conway and Sapphire to grow making the question of love and what their future will hold for them create a possible doomsday on their very new dating status. Also watch out for a possible new enemy that holds deep connections to Conway’s and Carter’s parents past as well as a ton of heated scenes and a cliffhanger that makes you wish you could read the next book in a heartbeat! Recommend to Billionaire romance lovers and fans of Penelope Sky, highly suggest that you read Penelope’s previous series ‘Buttons’ to understand some of the scenes in this book, and you MUST read all the previous books in this series before starting this!
He is certainly his Father’s son alright. Having deva vu. Hope the rest of the next generations stories won’t be the same as their Parents though.
There’s a few possible threats to their relationship I’m seeing at the moment: Bones Jr, Lacey Lockwood… potentially, Andrew Lexington & obviously Knuckles. We’ll see where that all goes.
Weird to not have had any interactions over the course of the last two books with Knuckles.
I love their chemistry now. I wasn’t sure I’m the beginning, been a slow burner. I love how he is with her, he’s a better version of his Father. Despite the ending, he stopped freezing her out and I loved that. Even down to the fact he stopped smoking cigars for her, even when she wasn’t around.
I can’t wait to find out if there is going to be a threat from Bones Jr or Knuckles. See if Conway has the assassin within him like his Family genes. Not sure, like I said, he’s a better man.
Only thing I’ve noted about Sapphire, is she doesn’t seem to have any ambitions she’s passionate about of what she wanted/wants to do with her life.

Conway and Sapphire have fallen into a routine. Work, play, passion. She wants more but he keeps assuring her there will not be more. He wants everything to remain the same until he decides it is over. She does her best to live with it even though it hurts her immensely. She can't see her life without him but she also wants what everyone wants. Home, love and family.
At the Underground, Conway finds an old family enemy but he is not sure what that means for his family. He and Carter do their best to find out more about this new Bones and what his game is. When they find proof of who he really is they confront their fathers. Anger and old pains are dredged up along with disappointments and fears.
While Conway is away, Sapphire has an outing with Vanessa and makes a fatal relationship mistake. The outcome is something she never saw coming! The passion in this book is so fiery and will burn the pages up. The pain and sorrow is almost unbearable. You wonder if there is anyway they can survive this destruction!
Conway needs to man the fuck up. Seriously man, you gotta learn something from your pops. Or your future brother in law. Or your future cousin-in-law.
This book has to be my least favourite in the series only because it was a kind of a drag. Did I like the sex scenes? Abso-fucking-lutely I did. Conway is taking extra books getting his head outta his head while the rest of the Barsetti men took like 2 books to realize just how pussy-whipped they are. Pardon my French.
Overall, I'm in love with Carter. He's funny and I can't find it in me to resist funny men. Before this I was in love with Cane who also happens to be Carter's father. These Barsetti spawns are addictive. [Not you Conway, you grovel]
What I think is this book could've been cancelled and it wouldn't have affected the series (it would but semantics)
To clarify, I still think Penelope Sky is the best. Won't get over her books any time soon. Be back.
Summary: I refuse to let this woman have any power over me. She's just my prisoner. But once my Muse is in trouble, I'll do anything to save her. Anything to protect her. She was supposed to inspire me, please me. She was never supposed to care about me. Or make me care about her.
Review: IF you have read the first Button and Lace books you probably had the feeling that this was going to happen. This book was great. I had the feeling this was going to happen. I kind of wish Crow and Pear would have told Conway what happened with their start of their relationship I couldn't imagine holding that in and never telling your children how you met. I thought that would have added a little. I have a feeling they will figure it out eventually on both ends with Conway and Saphire and Crow and Pear (also with Cane and Carter because his dad had the same start with his mom) i know it will all even out and work out. I am excited to continue to read this series
I can’t get enough of Penelope Sky!!!!! She has such intense complex relationships in her books. And this series is literally everything you could want, if you’re into a controlling billionaire heart throb that does deals with the underground world of sex trafficking and murder while making sexy lingerie.
This series follows the Button series of the Barsetti’s. Conway is Crow’s son and he is a luxury lingerie designer. Now we see Conway and Muse work on this relationship more and more. They have become one each other’s person over time. And even though family is now telling Conway he is in love he is adamantly against anything concerning his future. Even Sapphire. They have hiccups in this relationship but Conway in the end gets in his own way and Sapphire has to make a decision and that will devastate Conway.
This series is amazing! I can’t stop reading these stories. So so good!
Dang, still hate serials with a passion but freakin' love this author and her awesome stories. I tend to skim over the sexy parts because I am impatient and want to find out what is going to happen next and the author has a great balance between telling the story and getting down and sweaty. With richly developed characters that are at times so stupidly obstinate that they cannot bring themselves to see the truth, the pages fly by and the wait begins for the next installment. I love Con and Muse and cannot wait for Vanessa and Carter to get their stories told. It is always a pleasure to see Crow, Button, and Cane (even if it is just to help set Con straight).
I received a copy from the author and wish to thank her for an awesome read.
