Rodeo star Sterling Ford broke Cassie Lafferty’s heart when he chose a lifestyle of whiskey and women over her. Now the reformed party boy is back, walking the straight and narrow, determined to reconnect with the woman who got away. When he rescues Cassie and her dogs from a snowstorm, she learns her heart—and her desire—aren’t immune to Sterling’s smoldering presence. Maybe a canine Christmas miracle will make their holiday romance permanent!

A Snowbound Christmas Cowboy by Sasha Summers Harlequin Special Edition contemporary romance. Texas Cowboys & K9’s series. Can be read as a stand-alone. Forced Proximity, one bed, second chance troupes. Sterling Ford is back in town hoping to reconnect with Cassie. A snow storm and ice ends up with Sterling and Cassie stuck in a small cabin together. Now he just needs to convince Cassie to forgive him for leaving her in the first place.
Set at Christmas time, the cabin is over decorated but that leads to a cozy fireplace, fluffy robes and time together with her friendly dogs and a couple of tiny puppies that need plenty of care. The animals are especially adorable while her brother is over protective. Emotional angst to the max as two decide the future. Christmas song bring joy and reduce tension.
This was a second chance romance which I didn’t enjoy. This wasn’t a Christmas romance and I didn’t like the guy in this story.
This story is about a guy named Sterling Ford. He is a rodeo star. He walked away from a woman named Cassie Lafferty and broke her heart. He chose a lifestyle of drinking and other women over her. He returns to the town of Granite Falls. He is determined to reconnect with the woman who got away.
When he rescues Cassie and her dogs Bert and Ernie from a snowstorm she isn’t immune to his charm or his presence. They don’t have a conversation about their relationship before they are jumping into bed together. I didn’t want this couple to end up together. I didn’t feel that Sterling had redeemed himself at the end at all. I didn’t want Cassie to end up with Sterling at all.
I enjoyed this second chance, romance for the most part. I bought this at a local store and I voluntarily chose to review it. I've given it a 4.5* rating. What I didn't like was them having sex even though she was still mad at him. This is not for the under 18 readers. With two dogs, she is raising two orphaned puppies. Then an ice storm moves in and she has to be rescued, please. The hero has his own set of problems. Mix this combination and it gets real interesting. Lots to enjoy in this story.
So so entry in the series. Several things hinted at and not explained very well. Cassie Lafferty is still in Granite Falls years after Sterling Ford broke her heart and left. And everyone took Cassie's side, to the extent that three years ago, when Sterling came back to see her, her brother beat him up, and friends escorted him out of town. But as an agent for a rodeo association, he's back to buy horses, and apologize to Cassie. And guess what? An accident and an snowstorm trap them together. Gee. Wonder what will happen?
My heart really goes out to Sterling he has faced so much in his life. He wants to make things right. Cassie also needs to understand her feelings in a grown up way. They talked about what was most important. I like the fact that both of them are action people. They are better at showing then telling. #CMCon26
A Snowbound Christmas Cowboy by Sasha Summers is the fifth book in her Texas Cowboys & K-9s series. I have not read the other books in the series, and I didn’t feel lost, so you don’t have to read the first books to follow this one. I liked the story so much that I will be reading the other books to catch up on the characters that I met in this book!
Cassie and Sterling have a history, and it’s one that Cassie doesn’t really want to be reminded of, but one that has to be faced for both of them to move on. Sterling must apologize for what he did six years ago. A bad wreck, two people and four dogs holed up together in a snowstorm and very little heat bring things to a head and force these two to confront what happened in the past. When the sun starts shining, we think things could be over for these two, but a love that never went away will win in the end!
A Snowbound Christmas Cowboy is a sweet second chance romance that gives you all the feels! You instantly fall in love with Cassie and root hard for Sterling to show his true feelings. The small town of Granite Falls is one that I would like to visit often to get to know everyone else who lives there!
